Book of the Week: Transmigrating Into The Heartthrob's Cannon Fodder Childhood Friend

Rating: T (despite Xie Sui’s best attempts 😔)
My Synopsis: If you’ve ever wondered how someone can play both bully and victim, look no further than Song Yu, our transmigrating main character who’s first instinct when faced with conflict is ✨violence✨ while his second is calling the cops, as he fights against his system to befriend and protect the reborn blackbelly protagonist-turned-love interest, Xie Sui, from a slew of dickwad suitors. Watch as Song Yu threatens to take on the whole damn world if he has to in order to keep Xie Sui single while Xie Sui just wonders whether he’ll even get a turn to enact his revenge on his foes without interception, thank you very much.
My Actual Review: The moment Song Yu walked into a room and immediately tried to brain an antagonist with a bottle of alcohol without so much as a “by your leave,” I was hooked. I think this is the first cnovel I’ve read where the MC’s first solution to a problem is just his hands 😭 Song Yu’s name can be found in the dictionary as an example of the word “tyrant.” But don’t worry! He’s only a harbinger of pain towards those who mess with the innocent and his loved ones (plus Xie Sui totally thinks it’s hot that this short king fights his battles for him). And for all of his violence, Song Yu’s goodness and persistence draws in both reader and LI, translating into an especially soft romance to counteract Xie Sui’s tragic romantic history. The drama and comedy tastefully interwoven into the high school setting makes for a lovely and moderately gripping read without becoming too stressful.
While the translation is currently incomplete, I finished it with an mtl and it was fine. However, it is still currently being translated and is almost finished, so if you want to wait for completion, that’s fine too.

Oh my god I am never buying something as a guest on eBay again unless I don't care what happens to it afterwards. I bought the wrong size sheets OVER A MONTH AGO and every step of the return process has been like a whirlwind tour through the circles of hell. I have an eBay account, but I wasn't logged into it at the time, so the sheets don't show up in my purchase history if I log in but I can't message the seller without logging into an account. At which point it forgets that I'm the person who bought the sheets.

hi. ive taken this trip now. ive come out with new and controversial opinions on bus systems
#the tldr of it is that i think transport canberra has better buses than nswtransport#however i think that opal is a significantly smoother ticketing system than myway#why do i have to submit a form online to maybe top up my balance in the next five days. i can top up my opal card instantly#or well. i could if i remembered my opal login ever but thats MY problem#also my opal card has never gotten mad at me for trying to tap it while inside a wallet of some kind. the myway card reader wants me dead#that said. both doors actually work on the buses in canberra and i do appreciate the display with the stops so i dont have to just like#fucking guess when to hit the stop button for where i need to be#many things to consider here#original post placeholder tag

I just logged in on desktop for the first time in AGES for this account to opt out of the ai bullshit (it's just easier to have my translation blog logged in at all times on my laptop, and this one on the app) and??? Oh my god??? The reason my fucking search function hasn't worked for FOREVER is because the thing to keep my blog out of searches was on EVEN THOUGH IT SAID IT WAS TURNED ON IN THE APP??? Istg hoyoverse games are to be played on anything but PlayStation because what the FUCK do you mean you cannot go back and change account and are stuck with that forever? What do you mean you have to painstakingly try and contact customer service to be able to MAYBE solve the issue and be able to access your actual account data?

The fact that if someone posts a link to a tumblr post in a reply I cannot navigate to it using the tumblr app highlights the reason I hate apps replacing websites.
There’s nowhere in the tumblr app to enter a URL—your only option is to search up a user name and then try to find the post manually
If you copy-paste the link to a web browser like Firefox you get a login-prompt doorslam as soon as you scroll, even if you’re logged into the app.
You cannot easily click on a button from the webpage to load the post in the app
Even copy-pasting the URL is a PITA because the iOS tumblr app doesn’t actually let you select a portion of the text of a reply, only copy the whole thing to the clipboard.
I really hate the way apps break basic interface functionality that’s been standard for decades across different web browsers, to deliver content that is fundamentally just a webpage. @staff please fix this very annoying UI issue at least
