Canadians came out in force to rally behind trans youth and protest a policy which would see youngsters forcefully outed to their parents. Hundreds of people, including trans kids and their supportive families, gathered in the Saskatchewan cities of Saskatoon, Regina and Lloydminster in opposition to Bill 137, also known as the Parent’s Bill of Rights. The legislation, which became law last week, was introduced by Saskatchewan Party education minister Jeremy Cockrill last week and outlines a number of rights parents have regarding their children’s education, including access to the pupil’s school file and being able to see what sexual-health content is being taught. Controversially, the bill also contains a policy stating parental consent must be given for a pupil to use “their preferred name, gender identity, and/or gender expression” at school.

Mr. Rowswell: Mr. Speaker, over the summer many Albertans saw their lives turned upside down as forest fires ravaged parts of our beautiful province. Many communities were hit hard by these fires, and my heart goes out to all those that were affected. I would like to thank the fearless firefighters and first responders, that selflessly put their own lives at risk to help their fellow Albertans. They are truly heroes.
But, unfortunately, this summer and over the past few days we have heard some people, including some of the members opposite such as the Leader of the Opposition, use these tragic fires to drive a political message. These people often argue that climate change was the cause of these fires. They told us that wildfires were getting worse year after year and that there was no end in sight. We heard that our planet was quite literally burning up because Albertans dared to heat their homes and drive their cars and that this was the cause of all the destruction and loss.
Well, Mr. Speaker, I decided to verify these claims for myself, and I found a few interesting facts worth sharing with the Assembly today. For instance, according to the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre, which is jointly owned and operated by Canada’s federal, provincial, and territorial governments, the average number of hectares burned per year in Alberta over the past five years is less than each of the averages for the past 10 years, the past 20 years, and the past 25 years, which is as far back as the data goes. The same is true for individual fires in our province. They have reduced in numbers over the past five years, less than the historical average.
I ask everyone in the Assembly today: does that sound like evidence of a crisis to you? I personally don’t think so, and neither do my constituents. Rather, while we may be coming out of a particularly bad fire season, the overall trend of wildfires is stable, even declining if anything. In fact, in light of this evidence I call on all members of this Assembly to recognize that Alberta’s great energy sector is not causing wildfires.
#it's okay everyone#garth dId HiS oWn rEseArcH#and what happened this summer is totally fine actually#keep that in mind the next time you can't leave your home because the air is unbreathable#alberta#alberta politics#ableg#Garth Rowswell#Vermilion-Lloydminster-Wainwright#UCP#cdnpoli

From the standpoint of the automotive industry, trust is a currency similar to any other, and this is especially true for used vehicles. As opposed to a mere assurance, credibility is an actual guarantee that the dealership authentically considers the best interests of the customer. Consider a hypothetical partnership wherein dealerships and customers work together to build a bridge that is distinguished by reciprocal trust and regard.
Transparency and Sincere Disclosure Histories
A trustworthy used car dealership is characterized by its policy of transparently divulging information and vehicle histories. A dealership demonstrates a commitment to fostering confidence by willingly disclosing the maintenance logs, accident records, and any possible concerns associated with a pre-owned vehicle. The development of the narrative is effective in enabling consumers to examine used vehicles in Lloydminster with a sense of informed discernment.
Customer Testimonials as Indicators of Trust
Reflective in nature regarding trust, the experiences of individuals who have traversed similar paths are often consulted. Customer testimonials function as dependable indicators, providing insight into the dealership's unwavering commitment to guaranteeing customer satisfaction.
While perusing the used car dealership sector in Edmonton, prospective buyers utilize these endorsements as a compass, guiding them towards establishments that have successfully built customer trust.
An Essential Component of Self-Assurance in the Used Car Sector

Consumers make automobile purchases with the dual purpose of ensuring the safety of their vehicles and cultivating a reputable relationship with the dealership.
Comprehensive Inspection Methods
The establishment of reliability is contingent upon the execution of rigorous inspection protocols that ensure the dealership stocks vehicles of exceptional quality.
A reputable automotive dealer will dedicate resources to conducting thorough inspections that include both mechanical and aesthetic elements. This commitment to comprehensive inspections astounds consumers looking for dependable used vehicles in Lloydminster.
Alternatives to Explicit and Comprehensible Financing
The dependability of the financing options becomes critical when considering the acquisition of a bad credit auto loan in Edmonton. A dealership that consistently delivers clear and understandable financing alternatives, even for those with inadequate credit, demonstrates reliability in meeting a diverse array of financial needs.
Incorporating a guarantee regarding the transparency and amenability of the financing process serves to augment the element of reliability.

Work is implementing this new thing where when they need officers in the small skeleton crew airports (like if someone goes on vacation or sick leave and needs coverage) they'll ask those of us in the major ones who wants to go for however long they need people and then we'll get flown out with a free hotel stay instead of trying to hire and retrain whole new officers for temporary positions. Sounded like a good way to break the monotony and then I saw the sign up board and it's currently only for grande prairie and lloydminster. Good god no

Did you know that Alberta and Saskatchewan were once originally going to be one province named Buffalo?
for the purposes of this ask we are ignoring that Buffalo has become a bit of a buzzword for right wing western separatist parties :T; I wouldn't say it was "originally" going to be a combined province, it was just an idea that the wealthy and powerful ranchers across the southern districts really liked because it would help fuel their dream of turning the entire thing into grazing land for cattle.
Maddy did originally live in the district of Assiniboia and was sort of added to Alberta at the last minute, which is why she wasn't paying any attention to the battle to become capital of Alberta at all. Nowadays, the city of Lloydminster is the "closest" to Saskatchewan by virtue of literally being the only city in the country to span two provinces. There is a mural there to celebrate the 2005 centennial of the two provinces called Buffalo Twins.
We may not live together (as central Canada was too afraid of our potential combined awesomeness... surely) but our neighbour to the east is always borrowing our stuff anyways. Like our tendency towards austerity cuts, or Edmonton's entire lacrosse team >:'T tsk!

they’re canadian but they still have their accents so they argue about how to say z and talk about how warm it feels in -10 celsius weather . scar takes off his toque and grian proceeds to tease his awful hat hair while his glasses literally start condensing from the cold air
scar watched a bunch of american tv shows and grian almost exclusively watched winnie the pooh and peppa pig and that’s why they have the accents they do <3<3 they wear t-shirts and shorts when it’s -14°C. the get excited about -5°C in march <3<3 grian has a habit of stealing scars toques even when scar buys them matching ones <3<3
they remind each other to plug in their vehicles when it goes below -20°C. scar knows how to calculate celsius into fahrenheit very quickly and always does it to annoy grian. grian to combat this, almost always says the temperature in either kelvin or rankine <3<3
they both make fun of the province of quebec because it is their right as canadian citizens and have alberta rat control propaganda posters on their wall. they once took a road trip through saskatchewan just to make sure it was still flat (spoiler alert, it was). they made sure to gas up on alberta’s side of lloydminster so that it was cheaper <3<3
they go to the rocky mountains every now and then, not because they like mountains but because they want to see if they can win a fight against a mountain goat (spoiler alert, they cannot). they have never encountered one but one time the saw a moose and finally had a shred of common sense and hid in a bush until it was safe and clear <3<3
scar wants a pet polar bear, grian tries to tell him how dangerous it is. they go to churchill, manitoba (the polar bear capital of the world) to see an actual polar bear. this only spurs scar on <3<3

Mr. Rowswell: ... could the same minister please share with us when we should expect to see both of these projects completed?
Mr. Dreeshen: Well, Mr. Speaker, engineering for highway 883 and highway 41 will start this year, and construction will begin next year. The 55 kilometres of repaving between highway 41 and highway 17 are currently out for tender. We’ll see steamrollers out this summer.
But, Mr. Speaker, do you know what else is getting steamrolled this summer? The Alberta NDP by Nenshi and his Liberals. It just goes to show that the NDP-Liberal alliance is alive and well, not just in Ottawa but here in Alberta. They’re propping up Trudeau and the Liberals in Ottawa. It’s something where we are going to do everything that we can to stand up for Albertans every day in this province.

“GERMAN-BORN SOLDIER GIVEN TWO YEARS,” Barrie Examiner. June 11, 1942. Page 1. --- Had Unlawful Registration Card and Failed to Register as Alien ---- CAME TO CANADA, '29) --- Convicted of unlawfully having in his possesin a registration certificate which was not issued to him, a 30-year-old soldier. Eric Horace Brandt, was given a term of two years in Portsmouth Penitentiary by Magistrate Compton Jeffs yesterday morning, and on a, second charge of failing to register as an alien between December. 1941, and April of 1942, was given twelve: months to run concurrently.
When apprehended on April 15, he was in A-9, Canadian Armoured Corps (Advanced) Training Centre. (at Camp Borden, under the name of Reuben Schilski.
Constable James N. Clish of the" R.C.M.P. Toronto, detailed to investigate the case, told that he found that Brandt was born in Germany and came with his parents to Canada in 1929. After war broke out he enlisted in the Canadian army while living with his family at Lashtown. Sask.. in February, 1940, but was discharged in June, 1940, on a nominal excuse of being under age. At that time he was suspected of being pro-Nazi.
Witness stated that in November, 1941, he received permission to. move to Vancouver, but turned up later at North Battleford. Sask.. stayed overnight with a friend, Reuben Schilski, took the friend's registration certificate, and enlisted at Lloydminster under that name.
While at Camp Borden he had been in Toronto and registered at the Metropole Hotel as Roy Davis.. His father was believed to be in the German army.
The accused, of slight, build and normal appearance, told in detail his actions since 1927, when he claimed the family came to Canada. To the statutory question regarding church affiliation his reply. was, "My father is a Lutheran." He also told that he had been notified to return to Germany before war broke out with the assurance that after six months' labor camp and two year's army camp, he would be allowed to return to Canada, but he had decided to stay here. He had written asking for a guarantee of return but had received no reply.
To a question of Crown Attorney Frank Hammond, he stated that he had not taken the matter seriously but could easily have gone back to the German army if he had wished.
Mr. Hammond's view of the case was that the background gave it more serious proportions. The young man was not acting foolishly and if he had been doing so we could not afford to take a generous view:
"He is a potential danger," the Crown said.
Magistrate Jeffs thought that the situation looked like a need for internment.
