Have you published this yet? 😭 i NEED IT
Tumblr media
I have not, I'm so sorry 😭 I am a very slow writer and fake dating real feelings turned into a longer fic than I anticipated!! I do have a tag for it now where I post snippets, and here's some more of The Phone Call as an apology for how long this dang fic is taking (little language warning for anyone who needs it!):

What would they do with the Death Note?
Demons Edition
Nikolai Stavrogin: would be interested and grill the Shinigami for information, but ultimately would not use it and give it away as soon as he grew bored with it.
Ivan Shatov: would fall into a crisis of fate upon learning that there are Shinigamis. Would, of course, not use the Death Note and would probably destroy it. Before that, however, he would have one tiny moment of doubt and consider whether God sent him the notebook to make him his weapon. Would then have a mental breakdown and blame himself for the rest of his life.
Alexei Kirilow: would not use the Death Note, but would probably become friends with the Shinigami who brought it to him. They would have long discussions about life, death and morality. He would also not bother to hide that he can see the Shinigami, furthering his status as a perceived lunatic.
Liza Tushina: Would start writing a name of someone she doesn't like in a moment of passion, panick, erase the name and have a breakdown.
Darya Shatova: Would not use the Death note. Would hide it somewhere.
Stepan Verkhovensky: would launch into an extensive lecture about morality, the failures of man and if God exists, boring the Shinigami so much that they would write his name into the death note.
Warwara Petrovna: would not use the Death Note. Would, however, give the Shinigami a stern talking-to and embarrass them so much that they would end up leaving her alone and very ashamed of themselves.
Pyotr Verkhovensky: would absolutely use the death note. Would stage a Kira-like plan, but with the difference that he would kill basically everyone who does not agree with him, furthering his revolutionistic goals. Would also probably do some really weird and gross mind control shit concerning Stavrogin once he's gone completly insane.

it's crazy to me that there are people out there who still think that media and fiction do not affect how people think at all
#like that whole 'does fiction affect reality?' debate is so stupid to me cuz it's like#i mean just think about it for a second. what is propaganda? what did jaws do for people's perceptions of sharks?#i think studying the effect that popular media and fiction has on people in real life is really interesting#and it's crazy to me that there are people on the internet who think that it genuinely doesn't#like umm shoutout vit sisler for his paper 'digital arabs' i just read it for my game studies class and it's super interesting#about like orientalization how western shooter games' usage of middle eastern/muslim stereotypes as enemies created both a negative -#- stereotype for people who arent in that group and how it negatively affects the mental health and self-image of the people who are#also shoutout stuart hall and richard dyer they're really cool people and also have some super interesting papers on how representation -#- in media affects people's IRL perceptions of certain groups#i know online this focus tends to lean on that whole shipping discussion but i think it's more worthwhile to look at it on a wider scale#because 'does fiction affect reality?' is not just a 'fandom ship war' discussion it's like. the basis for many fields of study#anyways umm#liza post#actually this is more like a#liza ramble#i love tumblr bc i can write a one sentence post and put my body paragraphs in the tags#it's really late and i am tired ‼️ i wish i could be more concise i just adore my game studies class and visual culture studies in general

I'm pretty sad that it's so difficult for me to listen to Redacted Audio lately :(
I'm more of a casual listener when if comes to audio rps, and redacted has just gotten so plot heavy
And plot heavy content is great, but it also stresses me tf out and scares me away 😭😭 it's why I have a hard time watching new movies or getting into tv series
I've also been scared away from GBA, so if anyone was wondering why the MotH words post hasn't been updated that's why
Guy is like the only RA character I can listen to and not worry about plot. It used to be Aaron also but well... :(

HI BEE just wondering for uh <3 science what's ur favorite era in history :D
hi liza!!!!!! oh well thats a tough one because there's so many periods i really enjoy learning about....obviously, i love the 1930s as u can tell lol i think it was such an interesting era. a bad era, obviously, but an interesting one.
i also really like the 1920s for its style of dress and all of the movements that happened during it!!!
but, okay. tbh my favorite period in history to learn about would have to be the late 1800s- think 1860s to 1890s. maybe im a teensy bit bias because i have an original story that im writing that takes place in 1895, but still. it was a very interesting era, with all of the mass migration and westward expansion happening, the rise in machinery in factories, labor unions and strikes, cities being overpopulated etc etc. once again, it wasn't a great era- there was a lot of corruption and just. horrific acts committed during it (stares at the gilded age) but i think it's interesting to learn about how these people went about their lives and lived despite the positions they were put in. it's interesting to me, so....yeah that would probably be my answer lol

The Equalizer (TV)
It's no secret that I adore Person of Interest, and I always will, but there are critiques to be made of it. The Equalizer seems to be a show tailored at answering all of those critiques. The interesting thing is that all of those critiques, and The Equalizer's solutions to them, seem strongly linked to things PoI neglected in order to become more critically acclaimed, in line with what makes for prestige TV. The Equalizer is all about going back to procedural basics, but presented with an eye for detail on which groups haven't been afforded decades of empathetic procedural treatment. PoI was never a bad show, but it had its blind spots, and The Equalizer is all about re-centering on those spots. The tradeoff, of course, is that The Equalizer does lack those prestige elements that took PoI to the next level. In fact, I tend to be less engaged with episodes that step away from the number of the week towards the serialized military espionage eps. Which, of course, is perfectly in sync with its own core theme, or the figure of the Equalizer prioritizing the people forgotten by systems as normal. Another side effect of the show being unrepentantly procedural (they've only had one real high-concept ep of the ones I've seen so far) is that there aren't so many hooks for fandom engagement beyond unceasing "yaaaaasss" reactions. For me, it sits in that Leverage tier where the storytelling is so solid, speaking for itself, that I don't have much need to explore feelings about it in post form, as I did for PoI.

Fourteen Days of MHA | 7/14: First Impressions, Just One Bad Day
Shouta’s first impression of Yamada is that he’s loud.
He’d thought Shirakumo, who deposits their classmate in the seat across from him in the cafeteria and scurries away with a cry of Shouta, this is Hizashi, be friends! was bad, but Yamada’s YO! is loud enough that several people at nearby tables turn their heads to look.
“It’s Aizawa, right?” he says, still too loud, leaning across the table. At least he doesn’t assume familiarity just because Shirakumo introduced him by his given name. “I’m Yamada Hizashi. I’m in your class, but I sit waaay in the back, so you might not remember—”
Shouta does remember. Yamada has very distinctive hair, and Shouta had thought he was loud in the classroom, too. He might sit near the back, but their homeroom is definitely not big enough that he has to yell during attendance to be heard.
Yamada is undeterred by Shouta’s continuing silence as he launches into what, for all intents and purposes, is an opening monologue of relevant information. Every so often, he pauses like he’s waiting for Shouta to cut in, which of course he doesn’t, so Yamada forges ahead, gesturing with his chopsticks in hand but never quite managing to pause long enough to actually eat anything.
Shouta has to appreciate the logic of having an introductory speech prepared. Maybe he should do the same, so he doesn’t have to sit in awkward silence at times like this. At least times like this are few and far between.
You can only have so many first days of school in your life. One day he’ll graduate and never have to introduce himself to a new class again.

In the February 17-March 2, 1983 issue of Smash Hits, Neil chooses Yvonne Elliman's "Love Pains" as one of his current favorite songs. He and Chris would later make and produce a cover version of the song for Liza Minnelli on her 1989 album Results.

As one artist to another I just wanted to say I really love your art ^^
Is there anything that inspired your RE8 OC's? Do you have a favorite?
Awww, thank you!
So, I'll be honest, a lot of my OCs were made kind of at random early on when I joined the fandom. I actually never planned to have any tbh.
Like, Melony was my first OC. She exists because of a short lived joke about Mia being awake in the middle of the night and deciding to bug a maid that was just trying to get water. And she just kind of stuck. People liked her, I liked her, she was an anxious babe and fun for me to draw (plus she was the first OC I've had in like... years.) At some point she started getting shipped with Daniela, then Cassandra, and here we are.
Max was second, and... He was literally only made because people wanted a partner for Daniela and I said "Okay." He ended up being a nice contradiction to Melony (aka, Melony was a sweet and shy short queen and Max was, for lack of a better word, a bitch.) I would say he's the one who developed the most, too. Like he went from being just a bitch to a bitch with a backstory (and less emotional constipation). I'd even argue he's a little more fleshed out than Melon.
Elizabeta... I honestly don't remember why I made them. I know she was made specifically to be Donna's gardener, and she's a big goof with a silly little crush. I kind of hate that I don't use them more, because I do like them, my blog is just so Dimitrescu Castle/Mia focused that I end up not using them as much. I do have a bit of a backstory for them in my head, though.
In terms of favourite? I'd like to say I love them all pretty equally, cause I do love all of them. They're all special to me in different ways. (If you asked me like 2 years ago I would have said Melony without hesitation though pfff)
If I had to pick, I think I'd pick Maximus. But I think that's because I've started, eh, projecting myself onto him. Just a little. Also, like I said, he's had the most character development, and I love that for him. Considering his baseline personality was "Depressed and/or horny", he's come a long way.
Melony is a very close second, though. I still love her to death and I think she can be explored more in terms of like... extending her personality beyond "Anxious baby with mommy issues".

Honestly, major shoutout to whoever runs the computer virus wiki. It’s clearly a small community project, and despite clearly being a website from the early 2000s or earlier, it’s still up and running and accessible to a regular old user.
And the articles are decently accessible to someone unfamiliar with viruses! They do contain technical information, but they also have a basic rundown chart for each virus at the beginning of the page, and definition pages for terms they use that might be unfamiliar (such as defining a “nematode” and differentiating “worm” from “virus” from “Trojan”).
It’s clearly a labor of love and I LOVE reading through it.
And they have pages for virus *writers*, and references at the bottom of the page (with warnings when appropriate; some references are to sites which host live virus samples!). It’s so well done and I’m honestly really impressed.
Most of the viruses listed aren’t ones that could infect a Windows 10 or 11 computer, and it’s a bit more of a historical resource than a regularly updated compilation of every virus ever. If you have a current virus infection on a modern computer, it might not be as helpful. But it’s still really great and I love it SO MUCH.
