Jaemin was your best friend. He has been since the first day of middle school. You know everything about him and he knows everything about you too. But what he doesn’t know is that you have a huge crush on him. You’ve always thought of confessing to him but you were afraid that it will ruin the relationship you have with him so you decided not to. You were being so obvious but he doesn’t seem to pay any attention to the way you were behaving and you felt the utmost furious about it.
You know he only sees you as a friend and nothing more but you can’t help but hope that he has the slightest bit of attraction towards you. It was Christmas and you were invited to a small Christmas party at Buckley’s Lodge. The place was highly to your liking. It wasn’t modern nor was it high-tech like what most people preferred nowadays, but it was rather cozy and simple and you always feel at home whenever you visited the lodge. Oh and did I mention that Buckley’s Lodge is owned by one of your closest friends? Haechan got married a few years back with a lovely girl he met when he was studying in London. Her name is Noelle Buckley and she is the absolute kindest girl you’ve ever met in your whole life.
Long story short, after they got married, Noelle’s father, Thomas Buckley gave the lodge to his one and only son-in-law knowing that he would take good care of it. Now, you might be wondering, are you really going to fly all the way from Korea to London just for dinner? Technically, no. You and Jaemin agreed to further your studies in Liverpool so it was merely a five hour distance if you take the train. Jaemin had let you know that he would be picking you up at around four and it was currently three-forty. There is approximately twenty minutes until Jaemin arrives and you know how sensitive he can be about time.
Exactly twenty minutes later, you heard your doorbell ringing and you knew it was Jaemin. The moment you opened the door, you were astounded. He looked exquisitely handsome in the black suit he was wearing. It was simple and plain, yet ravishing and classy. “You going to a dinner or a wedding?” you commented as you locked the door to your apartment. Walking out of the building, Jaemin himself judged your appearance. “Same goes to you. You look like you’re about to walk the aisle.” He snorted. To be honest, you weren’t wearing anything too extravagant. You chose to wear a long-sleeved plain satin white dress that reached just slightly under your knee with some pearl jewellery. Jaemin’s hair was neatly gelled to one side whilst yours was perfectly curled and adorned with some hair decorative that complimented your dress.
“It would’ve been favourable if you’d complimented my look. I took my time picking this outfit, you know.” you said playfully. “You look beautiful.” he praised. “And you’re quite the looker yourself, Na Jaemin.” laughing it off, you and Jaemin entered his car before driving off to the airport. Yes, you guys settled on taking a flight since it would be faster and more convenient. Though, you should’ve though of getting dressed in London ‘cause now everyone’s gonna look at you and think that you’re some newly-wed couple going on an immediate honeymoon. Besides, your clothes would get all wrinkled. But it’s a one hour flight. Hopefully everything goes smoothly.
An hour passed and Jaemin had woken you up from your slumber. The moment you woke up, you immediately looked for wrinkles on your dress, releasing a relieved sigh when you spotted none. “Well someone looks horrible.” Jaemin snorted in your face. “Dick!” you frantically searched for your hand mirror in your bag before checking your reflection on it. You hair was a mess! After getting off of the plane, you stopped by one of the restrooms to fix your hair. Thank god your curls weren’t ruined. Stepping out of the ladies’, you spotted Jaemin leaning against a wall looking like an awfully good looking bachelor.
You looked at your wristwatch and saw that it was already fifteen minutes into six so you harshly slapped Jaemin’s arm to indirectly tell him to hurry up. Of course, he would never get the hint. “Ow! What was that for” he rubbed the ache in his left arm and cringed at the pain as you groaned in annoyance. “Hurry up, the party starts at seven!” you pulled Jaemin out of the airport before calling a taxi.
The drive to Buckley’s Lodge took almost an hour and but the time you reached the place, it was seven twenty-two. You entered the lodge and the first thing you catch sight of was Mark Lee accompanied by his cousin, Jeno Lee. “Mark! Jen! How are you guys?” Jaemin instantly pulled them into a bro-hug as they chatted. “I see Y/n’s your date?” you heard you name being mentioned by Jeno. “They’re always together, the fuck you mean?” Mark nudged his cousin’s shoulder. “I know, I know.” Jeno rolled his eyes playfully at Mark before a small chuckle was heard from Jaemin. “Have you guys seen Haechan?” he asked and looked at them expectantly.
Mark seemed to be recalling where he last saw Haechan which he then replied with, “He was by the sweets a second ago.” Yeah, you definitely know where the sweets are. Thanks a lot, Mark. “The sweets are at the lounge.” Jeno smiled at you dashingly as if he could read your mind. “Thank you, Jeno.” you returned his smile. “Okay, lovebirds, I’m cold. Let’s sit by the fire, Jen.” Mark wrapped his arm around Jeno’s shoulder and urged him to walk but Jeno stood his ground to let you know, “You look stunning tonight, Y/n.” before walking away with a smile.
You felt your cheeks slightly heat up at the compliment and the corners of your lips slowly curled up into a small smile. “Oh God, don’t tell me you actually liked his compliment.” Jaemin rolled his eyes at you. “And what if I did? It was decent. Why? You jealous?” you smirked slightly. “You can suck my dick.” and with that he stormed off to look for Haechan. Jeez, who hurt him? Tailing behind Jaemin, you spotted Haechan talking to one of the guests before his eyes landed on the two of you. “Jaemin! Y/n! It’s been a while!” he engulfed the both of you in a tight hug as he eyed you guys with adoration. “How’d you guys get here from so far?” Haechan questioned.
“Oh it wasn’t that far.”
“We took the plane.”
You made eye contact with Jaemin and squinted your eyes at him. “I see, I see. Why didn’t you tell me you were taking the plane? I really could’ve paid for the flight ticket.” said Haechan. “Oh, it’s fine. It really wasn’t that expensive.” Nope. It was. “Then at least let me pay for your flight back.” he insisted. “No it’s ok—” you were cut off by Jaemin’s annoying voice (no offence Jaem). “I mean, if you insist.” He shrugged before you hit his right shoulder. “Ow! Why do you keep hitting me?” he winced in pain as Haechan laughed at the interaction.
“Some things never change.”
Slow music played in the background as you looked at the few people dancing in front of you. You moved your head to the rhythm of the music and can’t help but smile softly at the situation you were in ; side by side with Jaemin along with a glass of Rosé as music filled your ears. The lodge was almost empty now considering it has gotten a bit late and the only ones left were close friends. Nothing could feel better than this. Or so you thought. “You wanna take a walk?” Jaemin whispered softly to you. “Yeah, sure.” you took the coat that Noelle had lend to you before walking out the lodge with your best friend.
Your footsteps littered the snowy ground as the crunch of your steps filled your ears. “It’s a cold night, isn’t it?” Jaemin commented with his hands in his pockets. “Well I mean, it is snowing.” you giggled softly. “Oh shut up.” Jaemin himself couldn’t help but laugh along with you. You spotted a bench next to a lamp post and decided to sit on it. Buckley’s Lodge is located at the very top of a mountain and is a perfect stop for skiing trips so you could almost see everything from here.
Your thoughts were interrupted when you felt a hand on yours. It wasn’t too common for the two of you to be holding hands but tonight felt a tad bit different. “Y/n.” he called for you quietly to which you hummed as a response. “Look at me.” he said. Carefully, you turned your head to face him before waiting for his next word. “To be completely honest with you, We’ve been best friends for quite the amount of time now and I just think you’re absolutely perfect just the way you are. No matter how annoying you can be at times, you’re still the one I adore the most. So what I’m trying to say tonight is that… I’ve fell for you, Y/n. Harder than ever and I can’t help but feel slightly jealous when you swoon over other guys. I-I just felt like I had to get this off my chest before it’s too late.” Jaemin released a breath of relief as he looked at your intertwined hands.
“Fuck— I-I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to—”
“Jaemin.” you chucked seeing him in this state. “It’s fine.” you held his hand tighter in your hold as he met your eyes. “And as a response to your heart-felt confession, look what I brought.” you held your free hand out for him just to show the mistletoe with a red ribbon in the palm of your hand. “I found it on the way here.” Handing the object to him, he took it without hesitation before staring into your eyes for confirmation. “You know what to do.” you urged him to continue. He seemed nervous at first but when you planted a small peck to his lips, he was surely taken aback but also more confident.
Biting back a grin, Jaemin lifted the mistletoe and held it just above your heads with his left hand. “You surely are one of a kind.” he leaned forward to close the gap between the two of you before his lips finally landed on yours. He released his hand from your grip gently and moved it to the dip of your waist and pulling you in deeper. Smiling into the kiss, you took your right hand and placed it just over his shoulder to keep balance. Just then, you felt something drop on your head. Pulling away from the kiss, you saw Jaemin picking up the mistletoe that fell from his grip with a nervous smile. “Oops, sorry.” he laughed awkwardly.
You couldn’t help but let out a small giggle at the way he was acting. This really is the man you love. “What’s so funny?” he furrowed his brows playfully at you. “Nothing, just, Merry Christmas, Jaemin.” you said with a smile. Returning the smile, he replied with a giddy voice. “Merry Christmas, Y/n.” As the moon lit the white night, you couldn’t help but wonder what challenges you’d have to go through during this journey of bumpy roads but one thing you were sure of is that you were doing it with Jaemin, and Jaemin only.
And to wrap it all up, that is how your story begins.
definitely more on the simpler side of my works but i did enjoy writing this so i hope you enjoyed reading this too. and don’t worryyy jaemin’s the only one without some filth :)

Hope it’s ok to ask, you seem like someone who knows about McLennon fic
Do you know of any fics that are set between 1964-1968? Almost every single fic ive ever seen is either pre Beatles, hamburg etc, or maybe a handful 70s/80s. You’d think the period when they were most active would have more written about it, but almost not at all!
Hi! You know, you're right, I think this sometimes, too - 64-68 does seem to the period written about the least! But the ones we have are really great.
To Lead A Better Life by novelized: This is one of my favourites! It takes place right when the Beatles finish touring and it's about Paul figuring out his feelings with help from Ringo.
Actually @pauls1967moustache writes about this period often! Two that I love are shotgunning and i thought i knew you, what did i know? which are both amazing, but you could check out their full list because they have some other good ones in this time period, too: moeexyz
Past Tense by @paisanas: This fic is SO BEAUTIFUL. It takes place in 1968 and John and Paul run into each other in Liverpool and try to out why things have been weird between them.
Chrysalis by cloudy_blue: I love this one, the writing is lovely. It's in 1967 and John is obsessing about why Paul won't trip with him. The dialogue and insight into how John is thinking about it are just unbeatable.
you can get it wrong (and still think you’re right) by stonedlennon: In 1967. Paul visits John at Weybridge to write. Another one where Paul is kind of trying to figure out what is wrong btwn them and John is not helping. Love the dynamic btwn them in this one.
@merseydreams has two that I couldn't pick from: The Elvis Solution, another post-touring fic, 1966/67, where Paul is desperate to figure out how to re-connect with John and Three's A Crowd, set during the recording of the White Album, where a potential threeway forces Paul to realize his attraction to John.
As always, if I'm missing any that should be mentioned, let me know! Thanks anon, this is a good category!

Admission to many museums in the UK are free, so once and a while we drop in to get to see local art. Here are some photos of art with themes of colonization, injustice, and issues of our time at Tate Liverpool.
This photo is of a Palestinian woman in what’s left of her home during the Sabra Camp massacre in 1982. It is by Don McCullin, a British photographer who covered the Lebanese Civil War during his visits in 1976 and 1982. Palestinian refugees fled to Lebanon after the establishment of Israel in 1948 in what was once a part of Palestine. The war in Lebanon led to massacres of Muslim neighborhoods including Palestinians in the Sabra refugee camp.
The late Zarina Hashmi was an Indian-American artist born in India, whose family was displaced by the 1947 partition of India after British colonial rule. While her sister Rani moved to Pakistan, Zarina eventually traveled the world, staying in touch with her sister everywhere she went. “Letters from Home” use these letters from Rani as a basis for the art, as they are written in Urdu and printed along with depictions of blue prints and maps of the places Zarina had lived through the years.
Kader Attia was born in France to Algerian parents, and later grew up in Algeria. Believe it or not, this artwork is made out of food. Specifically, couscous, a staple in Algeria as well as the rest of North Africa. Near the exhibit is a photo of Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier, who applied modernist architecture during the French colonial period in Algeria near the mid 1900s. In this artwork Attia seems to shape buildings in the modernist style, depicting the ancient hilltop city of Ghardaia in Algeria. The buildings are molded in couscous, and cracks and crumbling areas in the buildings could be seen as weathering from both the city’s old age and French colonization.
Torkwase Dyson handcrafted these huge, black structures and placed them in a large dark space on the first floor of Tate Liverpool. Dyson’s abstract works “grapple with the ways in which space is perceived, imagined and negotiated particularly by black and brown bodies.” This installation, “Liquid a Place,” definitely displays this, with these huge statues of what seam like heavy slabs of the darkest marble. They definitely convey the weight of colonization for me, and the artist description of them echoing “the curve of a ship’s hull” got me the most. Tate Liverpool sits in what was once one of Europe’s busiest ports serving the Transatlantic Slave Trade.
Lubaina Himid was one of the pioneers of the UK’s Black Art movement in the 1980s. “Carrot Piece” shows a white figure hovering a carrot over a Black woman carrying her own plentiful batch of food and items. The white figure is on a unicycle and wears light make up, conveying ridiculousness or crude entertainment, as if a clown. These are cut-out wooden paintings that are life-sized and was made for, as Himid wrote in her description, “…the moment when you slowly realise that you have learned something quite useful about yourself which proves to be a whole lot better than anything ever offered to you for free.”
Kerry James Marshall is known for his colorful paintings depicting Black people in dark shades. He counters “Western pictorial tradition” and brings forward Black figures in it. This work shows a Black figure wearing a British royal guard uniform, holding a sandwich board advertising a fish and chips restaurant named after a freedman, prominent writer, and British slavery abolitionist Olaudah Equiano. The irony of this art, is that it does not show a place in England. It is a scene in Arizona, where a “London Bridge” was made to attract American tourism.

mahonia and jasmine for Carey-bear and Jacko please?<3
mahonia ⇢ what place, thing, activity inspires you most and how do you express yourself when it does?
Carewyn: "...Well, music in general tends to be very inspiring. And if it is, well, then I suppose the logical way I'd express myself in response is to sing along."
Especially Christmas music. That always brings back such good memories...
Carewyn: "I also love visiting the ocean, when I can. When I was growing up in Liverpool, I always loved it when Jacob and I could take a trip to the beach. And Orion lives close to the shoreline near Montrose now too, so when I visit him and Eos, we can go down there sometimes. I always love listening to the selkies when they play music celebrating the Equinoxes."
[Ooh, romantic poet boy Jackson loves this question!]
Jackson: "Why, what can more inspiring than life itself? A clear, blue, open sky -- a blustering breeze -- the scent of grass and flowers in the air? Or perhaps a train car rattling under you as towns rush past the windows and fellow passengers chatter all around you, all swept up in their own little dramas? Or perhaps a library, old and ancient, with tomes unopened for centuries, full of secrets and wisdom yet to be tapped...the faint must of the books when you open them, the almost ethereal echo that comes from every step in such a tall, seemingly endless room?"
[Jackson grins from ear to ear.]
Jackson: "As you can see, any of these sweet, marvelous little wonders can leave me reeling. It's all such perfect material, for anyone poetically inclined."
Indeed, my hand aches for a quill. I must write these thoughts down in a proper sonnet and share them with my dear Montelimar, at some later date.
@cursebreakerfarrier
jasmine ⇢ do you have a movie or book you loved but will never watch/read again?
Carewyn: "Most Muggle fairy tales, quite honestly. I enjoyed them when Jacob read them to me as a little kid, but ever since learning Mum and I were witches, rereading stories like Hansel and Gretel where witches are evil cannibals and end up getting burned alive at the end just became incredibly unsettling, for me. I even refused to read Roald Dahl's The Witches as a kid because their depiction of witches upset me so much."
At least I had the Oz books to read instead. Those had both good and bad witches.
Jackson: "Sad to say, The Tale of the Three Brothers. A great shame too, given its literary significance to so many magical children and its timeless themes...but I'm afraid it's become difficult for me to enjoy such a story as I used to. To know that the story was so central to Gellert Grindelwald's whole world view -- to know that he chased those mythical Hallows so doggedly with the intention to use them to assert his dominance over the Wizarding World and mold both it and the Muggle World in his own twisted, blood purist image..."
[Jackson takes a heavy, solemn breath.]
Jackson: "...Regardless of how true the Hallows' existence may or may not be...the idea of these artifacts making one powerful enough to overthrow the very concept of life and death...it's little wonder that it was so attractive to a man who wished to terrorize others with no fear of consequence. However much the myth of the Deathly Hallows enchanted me as a boy...I've tried to wean myself off of it, as an adult, seeing what other sort of men consider themselves above both nature and the rest of mankind."

Exploring the Best Options for Liverpool Serviced Accommodation
Liverpool has grown into one of the UK’s most dynamic cities, attracting visitors for business, leisure, and long-term stays. With its rich history, cultural offerings, and vibrant nightlife, Liverpool is a popular destination for tourists and professionals alike. However, finding the right place to stay can be challenging, especially when searching for flexibility and comfort. This is where Liverpool serviced accommodation comes into play, offering the ideal solution for those seeking a blend of hotel-like amenities and the comfort of a home.
What Makes Serviced Accommodation the Best Choice?
Serviced accommodation is gaining popularity because it combines the best of both worlds: the convenience of hotel services with the personal touch of a self-catering apartment. In Liverpool, these accommodations provide visitors with a fully furnished living space, equipped kitchens, and high-quality services like cleaning and maintenance. This makes serviced accommodation the perfect choice for short-term stays or extended visits, whether for business or leisure.
These types of properties are strategically located throughout the city, providing easy access to Liverpool's main attractions, including the famous Albert Dock, the Cavern Club, and world-class shopping centers. For those traveling for work, being close to business hubs while enjoying a relaxing, homely environment can make all the difference in your experience.
The Growing Popularity of Holiday Let Management in Liverpool
If you're a property owner in Liverpool, considering Holiday Let Managementin Liverpool can be an excellent way to generate income while offering travelers a unique place to stay. The concept of holiday lets has boomed in recent years, largely due to platforms that allow property owners to rent out their homes or apartments to short-term guests. However, managing such a property can be time-consuming and requires a professional approach to maximize returns.
Holiday let management services in Liverpool take the stress out of running a rental property. From marketing your property to cleaning and maintenance, a professional management service ensures that everything runs smoothly. The right management company will also ensure that your property is well-advertised, attracting guests who are looking for a comfortable and well-maintained place to stay.
Why Liverpool is Ideal for Serviced Accommodation and Holiday Lets
Liverpool is a city that offers the best of both worlds—vibrant city life and a relaxing atmosphere. This balance makes it an attractive destination for tourists looking for more than just a hotel room. Serviced accommodation provides the flexibility that many travelers desire, and holiday let management companies help property owners meet this growing demand.
The beauty of Liverpool lies not only in its cultural attractions but also in its versatility as a city. Whether you're visiting for a football match, a business conference, or a weekend getaway, Liverpool serviced accommodation can provide you with everything you need to feel at home. This flexibility is why many travelers prefer serviced accommodations over traditional hotels, and why property owners are opting for holiday let management services.
Choosing the Right Management for Your Property
As the demand for serviced accommodation and holiday lets continues to grow, it becomes even more important to select a reliable management company. These companies handle everything from guest check-ins to routine maintenance, ensuring your property stays in top condition while delivering a seamless experience for visitors. The best management companies in Liverpool understand the local market, ensuring that your property attracts the right guests at the right price.
By offering a managed service, you can sit back and relax, knowing that your property is in good hands. This can be particularly beneficial if you're an absentee owner or have multiple properties. The right management service ensures that guests are satisfied, property maintenance is carried out regularly, and revenue is maximized. This allows you to focus on enjoying the benefits of property ownership without the hassle.
The Smart Choice for Visitors and Property Owners

Waste Management Solution in Liverpool: Ensuring a Sustainable Future
In today's rapidly urbanizing world, the effective management of waste has become a critical issue. As cities grow and industries expand, the amount of waste produced has surged, making efficient waste management solutions not just a necessity but an urgent priority. Liverpool, with its rich history and burgeoning population, is no exception. The need for a robust Waste Management Solution in Liverpool has never been more pressing, and understanding its importance can drive both individual and collective action towards a more sustainable future.
The Importance of Waste Management
Environmental Protection
The primary importance of waste management lies in its role in protecting the environment. Improper waste disposal leads to pollution of the air, soil, and water, which can have devastating effects on ecosystems and human health. For instance, landfill sites that are not properly managed can release harmful chemicals into the ground and nearby water sources, leading to contamination. By implementing efficient waste management solutions, Liverpool can significantly reduce the negative impact of waste on the environment, ensuring cleaner air and water for all.
Public Health and Safety
Inadequate waste disposal methods may also present significant threats to the well-being of the general population. Accumulated waste attracts pests like rodents and insects, which are vectors for diseases. Additionally, hazardous waste, if not disposed of properly, can lead to the release of toxic substances, putting the health of Liverpool’s residents at risk. Effective waste management solutions ensure that waste is collected, treated, and disposed of in a manner that minimizes health hazards, promoting a safer and healthier community.
Resource Conservation
One of the key benefits of waste management is resource conservation. Many materials that end up as waste can be recycled and reused, reducing the need to extract new raw materials. This not only conserves natural resources but also saves energy and reduces greenhouse gas emissions associated with the production and transportation of these materials. In Liverpool, promoting recycling and waste reduction can contribute to a more sustainable use of resources, aligning with global efforts to combat climate change.
Economic Benefits
Effective waste management also brings significant economic benefits. By implementing recycling programs and waste-to-energy initiatives, Liverpool can create new job opportunities and stimulate economic growth. Moreover, efficient waste management can reduce the costs associated with waste disposal and environmental cleanup. Investments in waste management infrastructure and technology can lead to long-term savings and a more resilient local economy.
Aesthetic and Social Value
Proper management of waste improves the visual appeal and social significance of communities. Clean streets, parks, and public spaces contribute to the overall quality of life, making Liverpool a more attractive place to live and visit. This, in return, has the potential to enhance tourism and foster a sense of local pride. A community that prioritizes waste management is often perceived as responsible and forward-thinking, fostering a sense of civic responsibility and social cohesion among its residents.
Waste Management Solution in Liverpool
Comprehensive Waste Collection
A comprehensive waste collection system is the backbone of any effective waste management solution. In Liverpool, this involves regular collection of household waste, recycling, and organic waste. Ensuring that waste is collected consistently and efficiently helps prevent the accumulation of waste and reduces the risk of environmental pollution and health hazards.
Advanced Recycling Programs
Recycling is a crucial component of Liverpool’s waste management strategy. Advanced recycling initiatives that promote the segregation and treatment of recyclable materials have the potential to greatly diminish the volume of waste that is ultimately deposited in landfills. By providing residents with clear guidelines and convenient recycling options, Liverpool can improve its recycling rates and promote a culture of sustainability.
Waste-to-Energy Initiatives
Waste-to-energy (WTE) initiatives are innovative solutions that convert non-recyclable waste into usable energy. These initiatives not only reduce the volume of waste that needs to be disposed of but also provide a sustainable source of energy. Implementing WTE technologies in Liverpool can help the city reduce its reliance on fossil fuels and lower its carbon footprint.
Public Awareness and Education
Effective waste management solutions rely heavily on public awareness and education. Educating the residents of Liverpool about the importance of waste management, recycling, and sustainable practices can drive behavioural change and increase community participation. Initiatives such as community workshops, school programs, and public campaigns can play a significant role in raising awareness and fostering a culture of environmental responsibility.
Policy and Regulation
Effective waste management requires strong policies and regulations that promote sustainable practices and enforce compliance. The local government in Liverpool must work to develop and implement regulations that encourage waste reduction, recycling, and proper disposal of hazardous waste. Incentives for businesses and residents who adopt sustainable waste management practices can further enhance the effectiveness of these policies.
Conclusion
A sustainable Waste Management Solution in Liverpool is essential for protecting the environment, safeguarding public health, conserving resources, and promoting economic growth. By implementing comprehensive waste collection systems, advanced recycling programs, waste-to-energy initiatives, public awareness campaigns, and robust policies and regulations, Liverpool can lead the way in sustainable waste management. The collective effort of the community, businesses, and government can ensure a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable future for all residents of Liverpool.
