Live Brief Reflection
At the start of this project i was excited to see what the brief could hold and what sort of work we’d be doing as a team. All in all I enjoyed creating ideas to help the work come together and make more sense. Apart from this, initially a few of my ideas were shot down. I thought it would be best to go for a completely visual piece that features some interesting parts of the interwar period. The team decided to go down a different route, i got on board with it and pitched ideas that were later used in the work itself. Another side of this was that lots of time was burnt away theorising and discussing what could be done instead of just getting on with the work and getting it done. I felt that myself and several members of the team put in a lot of hours and a lot of work to get the piece ready to be presented to the RAF museum, there was definitely an in-balance in work loads throughout the team but several of us were able to get it done for the hand in. But other than that I enjoyed discussing and working with several members of my team I found that most of them worked extremely hard to get a piece together for the hand in that looked good and worked well. Although, I don’t think the piece represents myself as a creative in any way but I enjoyed contributing to the teams idea.

Final Animation Inter-War Period - Group B
This is the final animation for the inter-war period for my second group; group B.
I had so much fun working on this animation and particularly the use of mixed media and utilising cut-outs was so enjoyable. Something i’ve never done, but now understanding how it all works, I wish I had more time available so I could do it again! I think of my two groups I’m more proud of this piece and especially how we all worked as a team, stayed organised and supported eachother to get everything done. It was an immense amount of work, but at least I’m now really handy with a printer and scissors and of course it’s done :D

Our first term has been very busy, here’s a look at what our second year fashionistas @barnsley_college have been working on for #liveproject #bodybeautiful #diversityonthecatwalk project. This is the second year running we have worked with the @civicbarnsley taking inspiration from the Body Beautiful, diversity on the catwalk exhibition curated by Georgina Ripley. The exhibition looks at how fashion creatives are embracing inclusivity and body positivity. Our #barnsleycollegefashionstudents explored five key themes: size, gender, age, race and disability. They produced #sketchbooks #designboards #GIFS #moodboards (at Barnsley College) https://www.instagram.com/p/CnRrMweNIQ0/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

REFLECTIONS
Overall this project was quite a different challange for me, but a welcome one. I really liked working in sync with my team mates and thanks to everyone’s efforts the final animation looks very unique and polished in my opinion.
We all decided on a fairly simple idea at the very beginning and stuck to it. I think this was a very helpful move because once we all shared the workload everyone focused on their part and as challenging as it is all the parts came together just right at the end.
My part was the figure animation, simple as that. The end products don’t look too fun or colorful, but my main focus was to reflect emotions with the movements and I think I was able to deliver on that part. I used multiple video references for the walk cycles which helped me greatly. I animated most of the walk cycles in 1s so the frame rate would match with the background pan and they wouldn’t look unnatural.
