Live Brief Reflection

At the start of this project i was excited to see what the brief could hold and what sort of work we’d be doing as a team. All in all I enjoyed creating ideas to help the work come together and make more sense. Apart from this, initially a few of my ideas were shot down. I thought it would be best to go for a completely visual piece that features some interesting parts of the interwar period. The team decided to go down a different route, i got on board with it and pitched ideas that were later used in the work itself. Another side of this was that lots of time was burnt away theorising and discussing what could be done instead of just getting on with the work and getting it done. I felt that myself and several members of the team put in a lot of hours and a lot of work to get the piece ready to be presented to the RAF museum, there was definitely an in-balance in work loads throughout the team but several of us were able to get it done for the hand in. But other than that I enjoyed discussing and working with several members of my team I found that most of them worked extremely hard to get a piece together for the hand in that looked good and worked well. Although, I don’t think the piece represents myself as a creative in any way but I enjoyed contributing to the teams idea.

This is an exaple of how i plan to do the animation. Obviously the lighting, angles and etc arent correct but this will all be fixed for the final hand in, obviously. Also the background will be green screened (maybe) i’ll see how i feel. I know that it isn’t a lot but I want the film to be good and not crap so i’m just aiming for may.

Heres just an idea of what the setup looks like, the glass pane over the top holds down the cutouts giving them a flatter look. Also i plan to fix the lighting arrangement I just had no room.

obviously needs arms and some repainting but the main paper puppet can move its limbs and stuff like that.
