☕🎼🙌💐🍀 if you want for the artist ask meme!
Thanks for the ask velvet!! Answers under the cut
☕ Do you do warmup sketches before drawing? (Bonus: do you have any to share?)
Not really 😭 I just don't have the energy to do both a warmup sketch AND the proper drawing. If i feel a bit overwhelmed by a "big idea" wip i do sometimes open a different file with small random doodles tho, maybe draw like 5 new lines and then move on lol. Like those:
🎼 Your favorite music to draw to right now?
I keep making new little spotify playlists bc i NEED music for drawing, so i'll just show that. Depending on my mood and drawing (sometimes i take inspo from specific lyrics) i can listen to one song on repeat for like 2 hrs.
Newest addition is "party of your lifetime" which is a modern "oldschool" style pop boyband song from Warframe (sci-fi action looter shooter game) bc it's gonna be a theme for... an in-game boyband of infested hive-mind boss monsters. Idk how to explain Warframe even if i tried lmao
🙌 Draw a doodle with your non-dominant hand
That was so painful hhh, i hope you enjoy this ganyu.
💐 Do your drawing suit your aesthetics?
Kinda yes? But my taste in art and aesthetics is pretty broad i'd say, so my art just doesn't really capture ALL of it. I can't do soft brush strokes for example, or super detailed stuff, but my art fits the simplified, strong strokes aesthetic. Also i draw ganqing the way i like, trying to give them a feeling of just normal aged adults, bc i don't rlly enjoy certain anime styles that are very prevalent in genshin fandom, naturally 😅
🍀 You wish your art was more..(fill in the blank)
Maybe lively and dynamic, just less stiff. I'm better at poses than before, but there's still so much room for improvement. I wish i was bolder/better with colors in general, tho i ended up actually rlly liking my last colored piece! Also i wish i was playing around with different textures more, maybe eventually i'll manage but it's just rlly hard to get to it. All the fun textures are hidden in art programs i don't know well :(
#ask#ty again for sending those!#every time i try a different program its such a hurdle so they're just waiting for me to get braver again lol#the warframe song is super fun bc the lyrics fit the infested hive mind so well too it's hilariously cool#“we come alive moving under the neon glow” “The boys are in sync and there’s no turning back”#and the infested enemy screeching noises during “Join us embrace us don't ever erase us” part. it's sooo good i love it#anyways warframe ramble over. but the song rlly did infest my brain too lol

Tennotober 2024
My collection of works based on the Tennotober 2024 prompts.
Hi all! I wanted to take part in Tennotober 2024, but I also knew that I wouldn’t be able to draw 31 art pieces, so I’m doing some fics instead!
The Warframe Tennotober 2024 Prompt List can be found here: https://forums.warframe.com/topic/1412660-official-tennotober-2024-megathread/
Day 11: Onlyne: Composing Mementos Through New Melodies
Operator Mag is introduced to a new song. She knows just who to share it with.
TW: None for this chapter.
As always with my Operator POV fics, this is in first person POV. Also, there are some very brief spoilers for Ranks 1 and 5 with the Entrati family.
With that out of the way, the fic begins under the cut.
The first time I heard the song, I was with Kaelli, helping her dissect fish for her research. As I split open a Chondrichord, I heard her humming along to the tune that was—somehow—being broadcasted from a small device firmly affixed to the petal of the Infested flower that she had emerged from. It was new, different from what she usually had playing, and I remember being unable to stop myself from commenting on it.
“New song?” She’d tilted her head, her brow raising in slight confusion. Her glasses slipped forward slightly as she glanced down towards me, and I put down my knife, craning my neck to look at the tall Orokin. She had shrugged, grinning slightly as she replied.
“Is it? I hadn’t noticed. It’s fun, though.” I hummed in agreement. It was a fun song. The lyrics were catchy, the beat easily recognizable. As we both turned back to our work—me to my dissection, her to her analysis of the various samples—, the song wedged itself firmly in my mind. Eventually, I too found myself humming and singing along, my head bobbing to the beat. I thought of how much of a shame it would be when I returned to my Orbiter, unable to hear it again until my next visit to the Necralisk.
Wait…I have my Octavia.
I had waited for the song to loop once more, then pressed a button on the arm of my Warframe. The Mandachord attached to her forearm had begun to blink, the rotating disc lazily flashing a more vibrant green than normal. I continued working as the instrument collected the song’s data, recording it to be able to play it back later. Eventually, it finished, and not long after, I removed the last tumor from my stack of specimens. I turned towards Kaelli, offering up the tumors and other viscera, which were bathed with the glowing reddish-pink light that washed over the entire Necralisk. It gave them an…unusual sheen, and I was almost relieved when the taller woman took the tray from me, grinning.
“Thanks, Ayatan. I really appreciate it! See you soon, I hope?” I had nodded, smiling under my helmet—unseen to her—, offering up a farewell before I turned away, bounding off in the direction of my Orbiter.
In the days since, I’ve listened to this new song more times than I’d care to admit, and now, as I walk towards the doors to the Zariman—or, the Dormizone, as Lēna calls it, I guess—I find myself nearly bouncing with excitement. As the doors hiss open, I catch sight of the familiar woman, her brow raising as she spots me.
“Hey kid. Everything okay?” I nod vigorously, my Warframe’s boots clicking against the floor of the long-abandoned ship as I move closer.
“I’m good. I wanted to show you something!” She chuckles quietly, though turns away from the counter, leaning back on it as she fixes her gaze on me.
“Okay then, go for it.” With that as my cue, I press a few buttons on my Octavia’s Mandachord, and the familiar beat starts playing. Lēna’s unsure what to make of it at first, I can tell by the way her head tilts, her eyes looking upwards as she concentrates on the sound. I bob my head from side to side, and eventually, the Drifter seems to settle into the rhythm. Her boot taps against the floor, and she looks at me, amusement and what’s perhaps intrigue settling into her voice.
“Where’d y’find this? It’s catchy.” I grin, transferring out of my Warframe. The song continues playing—maybe because the Mandachord is an instrument? I find myself unsure—as I answer her, hardly able to contain my excitement, especially now that I know she likes the music.
“Kaelli was playing it over at the Necralisk. I recorded it to show you, and because I wanted to play it in the Orbiter.” She smirks, nodding. As the song continues, we relax into the sound, into the upbeat rhythm. It isn’t often that we can just…hang out without worrying—not now that The System’s become even more chaotic, and she’s been preparing for her upcoming trip through time—, and we both embrace it. We sing along, loudly and definitely more than a bit off-key, but we don’t care.
This is fun.
I let out a surprised yelp as Lēna grabs my hand, spinning me around for a second before letting go. She laughs, and I find myself joining in. We both dance, making up the moves as we go—we would probably be embarrassing ourselves completely, if it wasn’t for the fact that we’re the only ones here—, allowing the song to loop over and over and over. Eventually, we flop onto the floor in a heap, laughing, chests heaving as we both struggle to catch our breath. The sound rings through the air, melding and tangling itself with the music, and I lean back, staring up at the Drifter.
“Having fun, kid?” I nod, a grin crossing my face. She ruffles my hair, though I reach out to playfully slap her hand away. The woman looks at me, her brows creasing in mock-offense, though amusement dances through her heterochromatic gaze. For a moment, something else crosses her face too, something almost sad. Before I can comment on it, though, the emotion vanishes, as if it was never there at all. Something mischievous replaces it, as she eyes me.
“I think you should play this for your moms.” For a second, confusion darts through my mind, though I quickly realize who she’s talking about, and my grin slowly widens, transforming into a broad smile.
“Natah would hate it.” She chuckles, nodding.
“Exactly. C’mon, it’ll be fun, live a little.” I roll my eyes, but my smile doesn’t fall. Instead, I lean against the Drifter, contentment filtering through my mind.
“She’s gonna yell at me. I can hear the lecture now.” I hear a snort of amusement, feeling her muscles tense slightly as she exhales.
“Nah, they won’t let her. Plus, how else am I supposed to live vicariously through you, hm?” I sigh, feigning exasperation.
“Yeah, okay, fine. I’ll show them the next time I’m at the Sanctum. If Natah’s the one who hears it, I’m blaming you.” I tilt my head back, looking at her. She smirks and I can tell that my ‘threat’ isn’t much of one. As we sit there on the floor, the music thumping along, the room coming alive with the upbeat sound, a warm, cozy wave of relaxation drifts over me. I lean into it, my eyelids drifting closed for a bit.
When Lēna asks for a copy of the song a little while later, I accept without hesitation.
I know I’m not imagining the happiness that swims in her eyes as she cradles in her hands the small device that I’ve given her.

Doing the War Within quest- Warframe Spoilers ahead!
.....so when I joked that Lotus calls me kid, I didn't know I'd be playing as an honest to god child. Good news: I did give them glasses. I'm also a bit better at not running into windows and doorframes, so the glasses are in-universe canon compliant! I've had the chance to listen to them chat to me in a few missions now and.... yeah that's a gamer kid. It'd be annoying if it wasn't kinda cute.
Teshin. Why is he treated like someone I know. I've never met the man and he's out there giving me orders with no introduction for a second quest in a row. I must assume it's another "timeline got wonky during the decade" moment, like how I don't know much about Alad V except that he made the big doggo that was the first boss I ever fought against. I mean, Cephalon Simaris got a proper introduction before he started ordering me around. Who in the hell is Teshin and why does he have the affinity for unusual hats that Lotus and Hunhow have?
To the quest itself- the Grineer have queens...? I swear I'm not stupid but did I... miss that somewhere or should I start reading the codex entries more... which means I have no idea what difference does it make if Teshin knows them or not. Anyway, the gamerchild is now pissing me off a bit. You almost got murdered barely a few days ago, can you ease up on the anime protagonist tendencies of running STRAIGHT into the most suspicious place you see? We're losing connection, where the HELL are you going. Gamerchild noooooo
(oh but flying freely on the Archwing is fun. More fun in this slow and steady precision-based mission, at least. I hated the Archwing mission where I had to rush somewhere with a time limit, that was the WORST. They saw me bonk my forehead into walls at running speed and gave me wings that break the sound barrier, this could never end well)

2, 8, 11, 23 :)
2. Album of the year?
I've listened to a lot of great albums this year, but if I'm sticking to ones I found in 2023, then I'll go with the Chicory: A Colorful Tale soundtrack! It's a great mix of absolute bangers with some really nice music, and it has plenty of variety between all of the tracks! I especially like Abandon Me and Gulp Swamp :)
8. Game of the year?
Oh boy, it's hard to choose just one. I played so many great games this year that choosing just one to be my game of the year would feel like a disservice to the rest, so I'm just gonna list all of my favorites that I started this year :D
Warframe
Easily my biggest timesink of the year, I started Warframe in April and have put nearly 560 hours into it already. It's gameplay is just so satisfying and addicting once you get past the initial hurdle of the new player experience, and is probably the least predatory F2P game I've ever seen in my life. It's just been an absolute blast and I'll absolutely be putting more time into it in 2024!
Lethal Company
Probably not a big surprise, but Lethal Company is insanely fun. I've been playing quite a bit with some of my friends, and every session is an absolute blast and can send me into hysterics at some points. Plus, I love the monster designs :)
Chicory: A Colorful Tale
An awesome game that's really fun and puts out a great message, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Chicory! Great gameplay and soundtrack, highly recommend it!
Chants of Sennar
Very enjoyable puzzle game about deciphering languages! There was one part in particular that completely blindsided me and was easily the highlight of the game for me, but I won't spoil it just in case anybody reading this wants to play it themselves
Ultrakill
Also probably not a big surprise if you've looked at my posting activity in the past few days. Extremely fun gameplay, awesome character designs, great music, etc. :)
Honorable mention to all of the games that I didn't start this year but I still played and obsessed over, like Battlefield 1
11. Something you want to do again next year?
Tough question, since there's not really anything super special I did this year that I haven't done before, but I suppose I do want to try cooking more! I've been more and more interesting in cooking and baking ever since I made empanadas earlier this year, so I wanna try finding more recipes and making more stuff :D
23. If you could send a message to yourself back on the first day of the year, what would it be?
Another tough question! I think for me personally, not a lot changes between the first day of the year and the last, so I wouldn't really have many serious things to say since we're basically in the same position. I think one thing I would say is to try not to sacrifice myself too much to other people. I took a lot of mental health hits this year by essentially acting as a therapist for people (By my own decision, absolutely nothing to do with them), so I think I would tell myself to take it easy. I don't have to solve every issue, and as much as it pains me to see my friends in pain, I would often be in more pain after hearing their struggles. That isn't to say I'd completely shut myself off from hearing them out, but I would try not to overextend myself emotionally in these circumstances. That is the struggle of being as much of an empath as I am
#ty for the ask! sorry it got a little sad at the end lol#at least i got to talk about video games :)#inbox

finally playing whispers in the walls and I'm just !!
[warframe spoilers ?? incoming, just in case]
ya'll the look on my face when I was listening to the recordings at the start of the mission and he, like, indirectly referred to his duplicate as the man in the wall and it connected in my brain I was just :O and then you see your man in the wall while looking for the sleeper like. fuck. "whispers in the walls" what was I expecting ? NOT THIS. idk why my brain didn't make the connection sooner !
AND THEN when you link with the vessel and get sent to the past ? future ? and arthur is like "I think there's something in my head" !!!! AND THEN THE MAN IN THE WALL SHOWS UP like "you're late". I don't know what is going on but !!!
like, arthur is OBVIOUSLY excalibur. but is it the same excalibur as umbra ? I don't think so ? but I'm just. the timeline confuses the fuck out of me tbh. like, even before this. this is 1999 ? so did he go to the past and like... change it somehow ? is this an alternate reality / timeline, like with the drifter ? cuz arthur obviously has some sort of transference signal, which means hes like the tenno. so is he like, a drifter from the past ? or a different alternate timeline ? I am INTRIGUED.
like I wasn't excited about 1999 / Tennocon but now I'm !! and honestly I have so many theories and like. I'm trying not to let myself set my expectations too high, cuz duviri was such a letdown for me. if this Tennocon reveal + 1999 is anything less than chefs kiss I would be incredibly disappointed.
anyway. in other news. are warframe sonas a thing ? cuz like. idk. I'm kinda having fun imagining what shade and kaey would be like as operators, what their warframes would look like, what their abilities would be...
#《 ° puffin.exe 》 im a puffin ! i dont do much#° puffin plays games !#anyway i actually need to finish this mission hehe i just got excited and had to yell uwu

Last Monday of the Week 2023-10-23
Testing the limits of my kitchen
Listening: I've been using my enormous playlist of Japanese Jazz Fusion as background music at home. This is Galactic Funk by Casiopeia.
youtube
Reading: There's a great PBS video on insect metamorphosis that debunks the whole Butterfly Soup thing and explains the much, much more bizarre truth: even before they enter a chrysalis, caterpillars have started to develop butterfly parts inside their bodies. Big chunky caterpillars contain a half-built butterfly. Inside the chrysalis they simultaneously dissolve the remainder of the caterpillar parts and finish the butterfly on the existing scaffolding.
youtube
There's a great paper referenced in that video which is this one, which is about findings from time-lapsed 3D CAT scans (which I guess makes it 4D) of caterpillars as they pupate.
There's actually quite a few interesting papers on following metamorphosis with modern imaging technology, including a big old thesis that I have only just started to dig into and that I do not understand.
Watching: Nothing.
Playing: I got a little obsessed with Bullets Per Minute, a rhythm FPS roguelike. Well, more of a tempo FPS roguelike, since you have to fire, reload, jump and dash on a very regular 88bpm 4/4 rock/metal soundtrack. Here, I've cut some clips together.
Hell of a lot of fun, I've been in the market for a really fast paced shooter. I tried to replay Titanfall 2, which is good. I also had a good time playing Warframe missions I was way too high level for, eventually I remembered watching the ZeroPunctuation on this and picked it up.
BPM feels great and is also a really fascinating old-fashioned indie roguelike. The game has almost no tutorials, you just get dropped into levels. Items have absolutely bare minimum descriptions and no hard numbers, the fan wiki is full of notes very clearly the result of trying to puzzle out exact damage numbers and percentile improvements from the player side of the game.
It is not hostile though! Very forgiving accessibility options if you aren't great with rhythm and good difficulty modes. I've done two full clears on normal difficulty and like with most roguelikes, that was a product of familiarity and getting the Good Items early in my run (thank you infinite ammo + revolver)
Making: Made a full spec Wedding Meal (vegetable biryani, dal, and soji) for Friends over the weekend. Easier than I expected! A lot of prep but not actually that time consuming, as long as like me you're good chopping one million vegetables.
Also finished hacking on monctl to have a command line interface. It allows fast USB control of a Gigabyte monitor. I have started poking at Display Data Channel to better generalize monitor control because I want to get a second monitor soon but this works great for now.
Tools and Equipment: If you have a dishwasher you should pretty much always use it to wash, even if it's only half full. Your dishwasher probably uses under 12 liters of water to do a full wash cycle, less on Eco modes. You are almost never going to beat it for economy or sterilization, so the only things you should wash by hand are things you either cannot put in the dishwasher (e.g. cast iron) or things you need washed right now.

Spire's Destiny Experience 3: Who Burned Down The Library?
So for starters, I've skipped to D2. D1 was fun, but I was struggling due to my shitty PS4. Combined with finding out that the Grimoire is not easily accessible, and how im going to have to spend money on abandonware if i want to find out about Skinny Jeans Robot through anything other then a wiki page, I decided I got what I needed. I have friends who play D2, so the jump seemed easier.
(I might revisit it for Exo Stranger. She was really cool.)
for what's left of D1: I was getting into it with the whole plot about Razputin the massive supercomputer, then hit a wall with a vex fight that was definitely intended for more then one player. When talking to a friend about it (who has played destiny in the past) she said I should just skip to D2. (Tbf she was more then a little biased bc she wanted to play the game with me and didn't have a PS4.)
But now for a rant: who's idea was the grimoire. Who put all the lore in a box that is also super susceptible to web rot. They should have used Warframe's codex, which is hosted in the game and won't evaporate unless the game also disappears.
But anyways, Vex cool, Exo Stranger extra cool (I am gay for her), the awaken sure are. a group of people.
D2 thoughts: I wish I got this thorough of an opening with D1. I now know what's happening. That's nice lol.
This is just the same opening but with less snow. Labeling my new exo (who is exactly the same as the old one) Pyre-20. Her ass got rebooted.
They changed the intro from when I played this in like 2019. Who is this man. I dislike him already. Why did he get separated from his squad. Why couldn't he just go with them? I appreciate him trying to keep me out of harms way though. Too bad Pyre-20 is NOT listening to his ass.
Then my friend logged on and we played half the recap quests. RIP Cayde-6 you were a dumb fuck back there but clearly people liked you. They sure gave this himbo a whole lot of political importance huh. (Who adopted the hunters after their collective uncle died?)
Exo stranger is still so cool. Love her.

Inspired by @askaniritual here is my Spotify Wrapped top ten with director's commentary
1. Cicada Days by Will Wood
It's on @abstracted-psychopomp's Rick Jones Jukebox musical playlist AND the collective Rick Jones: Live in Concert playlist. The line "let all my red flags fade to white, now I give up!" slaps severely.
2. Get Your Shoes On by The Rough & Tumble
Probably would have been my number 1 if I had known about The Rough & Tumble before randomly going to see them because they were in town in June. My favorite happy song. On the collective Rick Jones: Live in Concert playlist and "kinda like being in love" my Rick Jones and Genis-Vell qpps playlist. THE Greater Reno Polycule song of time.
3. On the Railroad by the Longest Johns
My favorite "walking" song. Good song to walk to places while listening to. On my Shatterstar playlist not for lyrical sense but because I think that that kind of work song would have the song he would have been most familiar with on Mojoworld. 100% my most embrassing song on my wrapped.
4. Country Girl (Shake It For Me) by Luke Combs
I just think its fun. It's on my playlist "Three Beer Sam!" which is my slutty country playlist I made with @thequiver that's Sam Guthrie themed.
5. Green Door by the Cramps
On the Rick Jones Jukebox Musical playlist, @abstracted-psychopomp's Bruce Banner playlist and I believe Rick Jones: Live in Concert. I love how they say "when I said Joe sent me". My cousin's little toddlers liked it.
6. 500 Miles Away From Home by Bobby Bare
I listen to it a lot when I'm homesick for Sidleterra. It's also in my playlist Jay Guthrie on Vinyl.
7. Freight Train by Alan Jackson
Another good walking song. Also on "Three Beer Sam!".
8. We All Lift Together (From "Warframe") by Keith Power
It's also on my Shatterstar playlist. It's unironically a good song. I do not play Warframe.
9. Way of the Triune God - Hallelujah Version by Tyler Childers
I did not realize I listened to it so many times. It might be on "Jay Guthrie on Vinyl" but I don't remember.
10. No Children - Ska by Sad Snack
SONG OF TIME!!! Found it, of course, from the Rick Jones Jukebox Musical. Very fun to jump around to.

I've been tagged by @likeyua to publish 5 songs that I actually listen to and then send this to 10 of my followers. Thank you for thinking of me, @likeyua!
Since there are naturally many songs that I like and so it's very hard to choose, I decided to choose a sample of the music I recently often, but not exclusively, listen to:
Sacred Worlds by Blind Guardian
Straight To the Heart by Battle Beast
This Is What You Are from Warframe
DOOM 3 Theme
Pacific Rim Theme
I've included Blind Guardian and Battle Beast because I love metal, especially power metal (not exclusively though), and because they're two of the bands that I really like and have also had the pleasure to see live on stage. They're definitely among my favourites. I love music that gets my blood pumping and my imagination going.
I've also included songs from Warframe and DOOM soundtracks because I spend a lot of time listening to various video game music. Warframe has some of the greatest music I've ever heard in a video game and This Is What You Are is a wonderful example of it. It gets me every time. DOOM 3 Theme is here because it's such a banger (though the game was less so) and lately I've been playing a lot of the two newest DOOM games (2016 and Eternal) and listening to their soundtracks and generally obsessing. Send help.
Pacific Rim is here because I also listen to movie soundtracks and themes a lot and epic music in general. Pacific Rim's theme is one of the most fun movie songs I've heard. Still a hard choice. Lots of exciting music out there! So honourable mention to all the music I listen to in various epic, heroic, battle etc. mixes on YouTube that I often don't even know names of.
Thanks once again for the tag! It was fun to figure out which ones to put here because it included listening to them all again. 😜
I'm tagging the following, though please don't feel pressured into participating, only if you want to: @celamity, @flaine1996, @curaja-caster, @thunderboltfire, @liveinink, @blueinkedfrost, @musatblr, @wilvarin-chan, @breachinthesky, and I see @ibethalantyr already got tagged. 😁 With some of you we've been following each other for years, even, and haven't really interacted, but just so you know I see you there!

GET TO KNOW THE MUN.
what’s your phone wallpaper : oh it is in need of changing since its been the same for about half a year... the lock screen is Horn's E2 art from AK because she's cool and was the most wanted 6* I had for a good while ahaha. The background is some art of Ryza from the third game which looks real nice. I ought to change them both at this point. last song you listened to : Spotify DJ is currently playing Running Out of Time - Paramore, I can dig it! last movie : I also just saw the Mario movie on Sunday. It was really good and I had fun, but god some of the music choice just killed some of it... the DK racetrack especially they had an original composed song and it was so sglaksjdlfjsdkl last show : been watching plenty of anime this season, the last thing I was playing was Otaku Elf, I think. Kinda cute. But Kamikatsu is the one to keep an eye on because its over the top insane. And the studio knows it. what are you wearing right now : Tan khaki shorts, and a very lazy purple t-shirt... bare foot... it was a very lazy work from home Tuesday!!! but I'm going out to a lake tomorrow for work so I'll be dressing up more for that :V piercings / tattoos? : none to be had, but plenty of scars glasses ? contacts? : I'm pretty sure I'm on the verge of needing glasses at this point. My wife had the exact same prescription as me at our last checkup 5ish years ago, and she opted to get some for driving but I thought I was fine... now? well, might need another checkup to confirm last thing you ate? : we made bourbon brown sugar porkchops with an apple jam pan sauce, roasted brussel sprouts, and mashed sweet potatoes. very homey meal that tasted good. favorite color(s) : gemtones, blue purple greens current obsession : It's wobbling back and forth right now. I'm enjoying HSR but Warframe may get its hooks in me if I can hit a stride. Otherwise I'm mostly vibing. do you have a crush right now? : my wife (: favorite fictional character : I could never pick one are you crazy. My canon roster offers plenty that I enjoy. But if we went far back enough I think Bowser (particularly RPG portrayals) will take the cake for the all time favorite.
tagged by: @shadowborders thank!!! tagging: take, eat, do with this what you wish-

Omg do NOT get me started. I'll talk about games on sale too but let me gush about some other systems as well!
Here are some of my all-time favorites spanning different platforms!
PS5
Honestly, I spent so much money on this stupid console only to play F2P games on it (AKA Genshin and Honkai) but I also fucking LOVE Warframe. You can also play it on PC and Switch (don't play it on a Switch Jesus Christ don't even try) but it's free and eats up so much of my time-
Switch
Pokemon (I have just about every game ever made across all the different consoles) but for some slightly lesser-known titles: Paeleo Pines: you get to collect and care for adorable colorful dinosaurs! (Also on Steam)
Fashion Dreamer: the Switch version of the old DS and 3SD Style Savvy games (a lot of people say it's lacking content, but I've loved it)
Pocket Jockey Ride On!: horse racing meets solitaire, just let it up, super addictive!
Muse Dash: a rhythm game with so many fucking tracks it's insane (Also on Steam, would recommend getting it on Steam, much more music choices and frequent updates) Mythic Ocean: a story-driven game with multiple endings featuring strange and beautiful sea creatures (seriously the fact no one talks about this game is criminal)
Dead or Alive xtreme 3
STEAM
Cassette Beasts: sort of like Pokemon but only in the sense you catch creatures and battle them. Very different and has a massive amount of content.
Doronko Wanko: I believe this game is just free to play. You won't get a lot out of it, but you play as a Pomeranian getting his owners house as dirty as possible. Fun and adorable little time waster.
Gris: A visually stunning little puzzle game about overcoming grief.
Palworld: Listen, I don't agree with them about stealing designs from Pokemon (as a die-hard Pokemon fan) but...I got it for free and I have to admit, it is fun as fuck.
Penko Park: NO ONE EVER TALKS ABOUT THIS GAME it's like Pokemon Snap but with creepy little monsters instead. Has a really cool style!
Tinykin: amazing puzzle game where you use these little alien guys to help you throughout levels while collecting shit. Played it for like 20 hours straight and finished it in one sitting. Don't do that, but it's super fun.
American Truck Simulator: LISTEN, LISTEN I KNOW IT'S WEIRD but goddamn if it is not the most relaxing shit to play. Put on a youtube video essay in the background and just jump in for an hour or so...I love it, and I want all the expansion passes one day.

Last Monday of the Week 2023-08-28
Arts and crafts
Listening: Chamber Mage
It's big loud heavy metal. Apparently they're doing their first run of live shows on this one album alone, godspeed.
Reading: Perhaps the Stars still. It's going, unfortunately I have gotten hooked on Breath of the WIld and my indiscipline has eaten into reading time so that's going slower.
Also a bunch of stuff about solar irradiation at various altitudes. This is part of an ongoing thing so I don't have much to say other than that there are so many different ways for light to get lost as it passes through the atmosphere, this stuff is way more complicated than they make it sound in passing.
Watching: Remembered that I was halfway through Noir, the 2001 Girls With Guns anime. I was enjoying it before my life got flipped turned upside down. Older anime has the bonus of having ludicrous amounts of cost saving measures which makes it fun to watch in the same way that it's fun to inspect mass produced consumer products for clever engineering tricks. They reuse SO many scenes to make this thing, episodes are like ⅓ bare minimum motion dialogue, ⅓ flashbacks, and ⅓ pretty good looking bespoke action combat scenes.
Making: Checked out a by-the-hour workshop called PONK, sanded down Galena to near final fit-up. Really handy to have a place like PONK on hand, I cannot justify dealing with the dust kicked up by a belt sander alone, even ignoring the cost and space.
Playing: Breath of the Wild! You can check the tag for my ongoing notes, but it's what I'm doing with a lot of my spare time at home. It's really engaging and despite my expectations, it's not a game I sit down at in the morning and then play for eight hours.
Maybe that's because I'm no longer in university/high school (although I'm pretty sure I could still spend 14 hours straight in Warframe) but I think it's more that every few hours I get bodied so hard by an enemy encounter that I have to go lie down.
Having a good time, I rambled into the desert last night and did a shrine on the border, no clue what I plan to do tonight.
Tools and Equipment: I hooked up a dead simple USB KVM under my desk to switch a keyboard and mouse between my desktop and my work laptop. Big quality of life improvement for working from home that cost like $10. It doesn't switch video or anything so I still have to use the toggles on my screen but most monitors have multiple inputs these days so that's not exactly a huge ask.
