Back to Greenwich. Findlay and Sidney are approached by the new heads of the Magistrate to sort out what is believed to be a haunting in their old apartment. First appearance of John and Joan Cusack as the sibling heads of the Magistrate, John and Joan Camden

Physiology fox trot. A virus made for a high school science fair breaches containment, causing the team to switch species upon physical contact.

The mages and the mundane. Findlay is in fangirl heaven when the team takes a case on the set of her favourite soap opera and she has to host her celebrity crush since childhood, Emerson Davenport. A matter of pride. It’s almost time for the New York City pride parade. But news from Riker’s Island means Findlay can’t support her brother and his growing family like usual.

Amends. Lucia gets horrible news from the son of the woman who broke her two years before. Guest starring Johnny Galecki as Milo Knowles and Christine Baranski as Karin Knowles.

Part of the family. Lucia summons the entirety of her family to hold a senate on what to do about the dangerous and dying Dr Knowles. Meanwhile the five families rally around Arlene when she becomes the victim of a drive by shooting. Rat race. Finale. Part two. Jones races against time to endorse someone for the U.S. presidency in the hopes that Chambers can never be elected. First appearance of Amy Acker as Senator Bethany DuPont.

They'd rolled up one of her sleeves, and Cal took it as a sign that he was meant to bite her on the arm rather than the neck. She'd backed into Darius, who held her upper arms still. He mentally conjured the determination to protect his son he'd felt when he bit Pearl and sank his fangs into the tender inside of Lisette's wrist.

Param dropped him off at the lounge where he'd left his car when it was all over. Weeks later, when the rumors started to fly that Darius had turned himself a concubine, Cal finally understood the reason for the clandestine nonsense. Not even Navita and Erica knew the truth. He tucked aside the secret that he could use to keep the kid in check, just in case.

Without another word, he called on the wild within. The change came quickly and easily now. It rolled over him from the chest out, up, and down all at once, all in less space than a breath. He no longer had to build the ashes or contort his fingers to encourage the claws. He didn't have to howl the wolf into the world. He thought, and it happened.

Lisette gave a small cry and hid her face in Darius's shoulder. Cal could smell her more clearly, but hardly needed the waft of ammonia to sense her sudden fear. He could hear her muffled whimpers and galloping pulse.  He leaned against the mantle and waited for her to calm down.

Darius cooed the girl into as much serenity as an excitable barely-a-woman could hope to muster. "Okay," he said, as much to Cal as to Lisette.

Cal raised an eyebrow at Darius, who merely cleared his throat and studied  the ground. As far as he knew, there were only three packs in Moonlight Falls: the Wolffs', the Singhs', and his own, all more like families instead of the formalized political unit he'd been reading about in the books Voss had provided. He sighed and decided to think about all of that later. "You understand that you'll be expected to start having babies as soon as you've turned."

"I went over everything with her already," Darius said.

Cal glowered at him a moment and then looked back at the girl. He expected her to speak for herself, especially since she tended to run on and might drop more insight into Darius's ambitions.

"Yes! I love babies!" The girl beamed. "And Erica knows all about them and is going to help me. Only we'll do better about finding them nice werewolves to marry instead of witches and vampires like her kids. How many more questions until we get on with the biting?"

The envelope crinkled into the sudden silence when Cal took it from her and glanced at Darius, who gave a small nod. He walked over to the cold fireplace to open it. He had expected rumors and hearsay instead of physical evidence. The paper was still warm with the heat from the girl's pocket. He thought his hands might tremble as he broke the adhesive and forced himself to a predatory stillness.

He found three photocopies inside. He scanned the first in the dim light. It seemed to be some sort of marriage license, granted eleven months before his own date of birth. His eyes widened when he saw his mother's correct maiden name. It's a fairly common name, it could be just the same name but not the same person, he told himself.

She took a deep breath and then launched into a hurried speech. "So for as long as I can remember, I've been super into all kinds of creatures of the night and all that. And, to tell you the truth, I had a long goth phase when I thought I wanted to be a vampire, but then, you know, I saw Twilight and I was super Team Jacob. So much hotter than Edward!" She paused, took a deep breath, then plunged ahead. "Anyway, after that I changed my mind and decided I'd rather be a werewolf. So I started some social media with mood boards and stuff, and then I met Darius online and he brought me here, and we had a huge fight because I lied to him about already being a werewolf, but now we can fix that, and I can't wait to bang him because he said he wasn't wasting his time fucking a human. Oh my god! Sorry! That was too much!" She clapped her hand over her mouth and blushed from her collar to the tips of her ears.

He hadn't seen her face in thirty years and hadn't expected the lurch in his stomach like an abrupt elevator stop. He pressed his hand to his temples and stared at the picture. He tried to remember to breathe. Even if everything else on those papers was wrong, her face was right.

He swallowed hard. Later. He would think and feel about it later, when he was at home with Arista, not here in front of these wolves that were not his family. But he would do as Darius asked. It was more than worth it. He folded the photocopies back into their envelope and folded and tucked it into his pocket. He made sure his phone was secure in his other pocket.

"You seem like you know what you're getting into. I don't have anymore questions. Do you have any?" At least it seemed Darius had been more up front with the guileless girl than with himself.

"No. Mr Singh told me all about what it was like when Mrs. Singh bit him."

Although the girl's bubbly nature actually made him appreciate Nolan's reticence, Cal wondered about the other end of the bargain. Callista's questions about his mother made Cal want to ask Darius what he knew about his father, but he didn't particularly want that information revealed in front of the garrulous girl.

"Oh," Lisette said and drew a creased sealed envelope from her pocket. "I'm supposed to give you this."

Cal pushed his fingers to the bridge of his nose and tried not to laugh, shaking his head slightly.

Darius winced and started apologizing, "That wasn't what I said. I said I wouldn't risking getting her pregnant while she's still a human. She's a little extra sometimes."

"Extra what?" Cal asked. When the pair exchanged a look but didn't answer, he continued with his other questions. "You know he's married, right?"

"Oh, yes, we talked about that." She seemed incapable of giving a concise answer, the words kept popping like water in a kettle just before it boiled. "She's old, and actually very motherly. I like her. I mean, not like like-like, if that's what you're thinking, but Erica is nice. I get that it's pretty much a political marriage. If everything works out, Darius will have united enough packs on his own to marry me once she kicks the bucket."

The second sheet was a newspaper wedding announcement for the same couple that read like a brief genealogy for both sides. A grainy black and white photo didn't give very good detail, but looked similar enough to his mother. Cal had always thought Artemis resembled her a great deal, with the same green eyes and proud set to her mouth and shoulders, but Callista had the same softness in her eyes and small, straight nose.  He couldn't discern if the woman in the picture was a brunette or a redhead, a detail that could confirm her identity.

The third piece of paper was another newspaper clipping describing the search for a missing woman. This time, the picture was bigger. Big enough that, in spite of the poor quality of the copy, he could tell with absolute surety that it was his mother. It wasn't just her features. It was the way she held her chin up. It was the way her jaw rested on her folded fingers, a gesture he'd forgotten he'd seen her make at least a half a dozen times every day.  It was the way her hair almost fell over her eye and he knew that she'd just brushed it back and would again a moment after the picture was taken.

"This is her?" Cal asked needlessly. He examined her while Darius nodded. She had russet hair, wide eyes, and delicate features, pretty, if too elfin for Cal's taste. He thought she must be closer to Ajax and Jerome's age than Darius's. She smelled a little anxious, young, and innocent enough to give him qualms. He looked her in the eye and she quickly looked away. He wondered how much she knew about Darius's plans and why she'd agreed to participate. "You understand that I'm going to bite you in order to turn you into a werewolf, right?"

"Yes," she said with her first smile. "I'm super excited! I mean, not the biting part, but the werewolf part."

"Why?"

She looked at Darius with confusion, but he nodded, "Go on, tell him."

"Gimme a sec," he said, and paused next to the front steps. He took a leak on a snow laden bush, more than the sprinkle he needed to leave a scent for Ozzie but sufficient to hide that intention. Just in case, he told himself.

Darius led him through the darkened house with an ease that suggested he knew the path. Cal hoped that he wasn't walking into some sort of ambush, although that seemed less likely since the older Singh hadn't followed them inside. They stomped through the halls, encountering nothing, not even dust, until they came to a heavily draped room lit with dim LED lights. A young woman, far more attractive than Erica, sat with her legs crossed on a settee.

"Lisette," Darius held his hand out to her. With a nervous glance at Cal, she stood and took the young man's arm.
