Victrix Greek Peltasts done!!!! Love how these guys turned out. First Victrix models I've painted and I'm loving them. Though the mold lines were pretty intense.
These guys are going to be elements of a diorama and THEN. They will be part of my eventual Thracian army for Dragon/Lion Rampant.

The one, the only...⚜️ Bad Girl ⚔️
Commissioned artwork featuring some of the collector's real life tattoos mixed in among a series of beafts in the style of medieval marginalia. Originally intended to be a straight up "Good Boy" custom, in creating my concept sketches I made one that veered away from a monochromatic color scheme and went full-on illuminated manuscript.
As we weren't going with a fur effect I still wanted a way to bring some texture and dimension to the face, which led me to picture her as a living book with curls of parchment fur and an embossed muzzle. Researching medieval art for reference is always a good time and I made up some creatures myself, like the blue kittywyrm and freaky dolphin. Her eyes have a subtle chrome effect base under layers of glaze, and the crosshatch pattern in the ears extends around the entire perimeter of the piece wherever the 'paper' lifts away.
Bad Girl, acrylics on hand shaped aluminum, appx. 12x12", 2022

Unboxing: Various historical wargames
Recently I ordered a number of historical wargames as I figured it is my thing now, fantasy and science fiction wargaming just does not appeal to me now. Some of the rulebooks I ordered were updates or new editions of rulebooks I already own, these are Hail Caesar second edition, Saga 2.5 and Swordpoint. Others are rules completely new to me such as Lion Rampant, L'art de la Guerre and Milites Mundi. I will go into more detail about these games once I have had chance to read them and hopefully try them out.
Hail Caesar is produced by Warlord Games and came with a resin model of King Richard I 'the Lionheart' and a free sprue of Imperial Roman Auxiliaries. Of my numerous purchases of wargames Hail Caesar is probably my favourite for value for money as when I ordered it it was on sale and I had enough points from Warlord games' reward scheme to get a £35 game for less the £20. I already own a copy of first edition, second edition seemed like a natural choice, I had held off buying it for sometime
The second game on my recently bought list is Saga 2.5, from Studio Tomahawk, the book is an update of the second edition rulebook rather than a completely new edition. The FAQs have been folded into the rulebook thus taking away the need to carry a handful of printed pages.
The third rulebook in my list of new editions and updated rulebooks I needed was the Swordpoint from Gripping Beast. The second edition has been out for a while now and been on my to buy wishlist for nearly as long. When second edition was released Gripping Beast provided a free document that allowed players to carry on using their first edition rulebook, this document was very long with the adjustments to the rules, I caved in in the end and replaced my second edition document with a second edition rulebook.
The first of the completely new to me rulebooks is Lion Rampant. produced by Osprey Publishing. I ordered the book through Amazon and the book arrived through the letterbox with an ominous thud! Thank you amazon man for putting a dent in the back of my nice new hardback rulebook.
Next up is Onyx editions game L'art de la Guerre. The book has a nice piece of art on the cover and what I have read of it is a good solid ruleset.
The final rulebook is Gripping Beasts Milites Mundi which is designed for smaller scale models using the Swordpoint mechanics.
Anyway that is all for now, in the future I shall go into more detail with each one.
Stay safe
Happy hobbying!

Marbled Monday
It's time for a fancy schmancy Marbled Monday! I spied this gold-speckled marbling while pulling books for a class. It is a book of poems simply titled Verses: 1928-1972 by British civil servant, soldier, banker, writer, and poet Jasper Rootham. It was published by Rampant Lions Press in Cambridge, England in an edition of 500 copies in 1972.
The marbling is really lovely, with dark grey, maroon/mauve, cream, and brown with added spots of shiny gold, all dropped in the bath and then swirled together. It is most likely an example of the Placard pattern, which is similar to Fantasy or Fountain, but less structured and uniform. This marbling, combined with the maroon bookcloth spine that features gold stamping, gives the book quite a sophisticated feel.

A lot of my collecting of WWII stuff was inspired by Medal of Honor: Frontline. I was playing it one day the summer I had my first job and I wondered while playing how hard it would be to find a helmet from WWII.
After acquiring said helmet, I set about putting together the uniform of this little knockoff G.I. Joe I had bought when I was a freshman in High School, dubbed "pocket Jimmy Patterson"
Pocket Jimmy Patterson there is a Sergeant in the 101st and was sold as a D-Day soldier but he's actually dressed for Market Garden.
I landed on paratroopers in part because of pocket Jimmy Patterson, and in part because I like airplanes. From there, I went with the 101st over the 82nd because I already thought they had the best patch, I liked the playing card insignia painted on the side of the helmet, the number 101 is aesthetically pleasing, and I didn't know about any other airborne units.
I mean,
Come on.
(the 101st is the one on the left, and the 82nd on the right, if you didn't already know)
I say all that because if you know anything about WWII collecting and especially re-enacting you know that elite units are dramatically over-represented and for the U.S. nobody more than the 101st, and this can be blamed almost exclusively on Band of Brothers, a show I had not even seen when I landed on the 101st.
How bad is it?
Well, by way of illustration, as a stress response to the final stages of my dissertation I've been retreating into buying WWII paratrooper stuff again, and I was questioning whether I hadn't better go with another unit this time. I had a great great uncle killed in the Philippines in WWII who was in the 11th Airborne so that's an obvious candidate, but of course if you want to stick to Europe and fighting Nazis your options are the 82nd, 101st, or 17th. Of those, the 17th only really got into the war in 1945 and if you want to do Normandy, as some 90% of re-enactments do, then you're between the 82nd and the 101st.
The 82nd has a much longer history than the 101st and, objectively, and I mean this with all implied asterisks and am speaking as though I were a twelve year old who does not know better, the 82nd is cooler, the inferior number/patch notwithstanding.
So I was on a website that is well-regarded for selling WWII militaria and they have a section for patches and I was doing some comparison of original WWII-era divisional patches. The cheapest 101st Airborne patch from WWII this guy has for sale is $175, most of them hovering closer to $300, and some in the $600 range.
11th, 17th, and 82nd patches are in the $50 range.
When I still did re-enacting as the 101st, I remember talking to some of the guys who were disappointed with the rather low "authenticity" standards of our unit (always something of a joke when a considerable number of G.I. re-enactors are in their 40s-60s and dramatically overweight), especially considering that the 101st Airborne are one of the most cartoonishly over-documented units in WWII, for whom reproductions of everything are widely available, and so there's really no excuse not to have your uniform and equipment more or less 100% correct.
Sure enough, trying to do a little research into the 82nd to see what that pool would be like, the resources are shockingly slim. The 101st had two combat jumps in WWII, Normandy and Holland. The 82nd jumped into Sicily, Salerno, Normandy, southern France, and Holland. They have a much longer combat record and are, comparatively speaking, almost totally neglected by idiots like me who are into WWII.
Even as I say all this
I am having a hard time severing the internal connection to 101
#wwii#ww2#re-enacting#my militaria#you know#I never actually pieced together the full Pocket Jimmy Patterson uniform#I never got that M8 scabbard#never got the wire cutters#never got a Thompson#and I never got that shoulder bag#the rest of the stuff I did acquire#at this moment the only stuff on him that I have is the 1911 the helmet the scarf the belt the flag brassard the 1911 mag pouch and#ironically perhaps#that M8 scabbard#I think if I focused on the 82nd I'd try to do the 505th because there's a picture of a guy from the 505th with an M1903A4 before Italy#also they had a rampant lion (panther?) painted on the side of the helmet for Italy#not for Normandy I don't think#the 509 are also cool but they're an independent regiment

Ahhh, I am fantasizing about armies again. Victrix has such great Late Roman/Byzantine minis, and their "Late Roman Horse Archers/Armored Cavalry/Cataphracts" slot into the Lion Rampant light/heavy/elite cavalry roles so cleanly, their Unarmored Late Roman Infantry look so good, and I also love their Normans, who would work great as mercenaries, and honestly any and every historical wargamer ought to have some Vikings of some sort kicking around, just because you're going to need them at some point. I almost wish Victrix sold their minis in smaller sizes, lol. Like their basic box is 36 minis for $37, which is amazing, don't get me wrong, please don't stop doing that Victrix, that's fucking great, but...I only need like. 20 of the little bastards. Sometimes less.
But I've got my Caliphate army to build first from Gripping Beast minis this coming year, and then my long-awaited Victrix Dacians/Thracians (From Rome Total War 1) are in the plan too…So many cool armies, so little time/money…

summary: Logan's feeling impulsive before a mission and you happen to be within reach aka he fucks you in the jet.
pairing: Logan Howlett x afab mutant!reader
warnings: 18+ mdni. feral!Logan. rough sex. dirty talk. bicep choking. biting. spit kink. reader can read minds and regenerate. size difference. brief mention of blood. pure filth - no plot. unbeta'd. w.c: 1.1k
an: this look fucks me up every time I see it, so I had to write something.
𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐋𝐢𝐬𝐭 ⋅ 𝐅𝐢𝐜 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐬 ⋅ 𝐋𝐨𝐠𝐚𝐧 𝐇𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐋𝐢𝐬𝐭
Logan fumes with pent-up energy.
He knows he needs to take care of it, or else he's gonna snap. He hopes Scott shows up soon; throwing a few digs at the younger cyclopes will relax him. Still, he stalks back and forth in the empty jet, from cockpit to tail, puffing on a cigar that's smoked down to a nub of tobacco when his ears prick.
He turns just in time to watch you walk up the ramp. You're suited to the nines and ready for the mission, your leather outfit hugging every curve on your body.
Logan feels the rampant energy to kill slowly morphing into one of possession.
You catch his wandering eyes as you reach the top. Flashes of snarling teeth, slapping flesh, and debauched moans spark before your eyes as Logan looks you over.
"Logan," you greet him with a wry smile as the older, silver haired mutant rolls his cigar between his lips and nods. His energy permeates the hull of the jet; he's like a wolf standing over maimed prey.
"Ready for this?" Logan asks, breaking the silence and stepping closer to you. He's so large and consuming; he'd scare you if you didn't have the power of mind control.
"I'm always ready." You quip, jutting your chin.
Logan snorts, cigar snatched between his pearly whites. "That so?"
You reply with a teasing hum as your fingers dance over his suited pecs.
"Think you can take me?" He steps even closer, nudging his larger body against your smaller one before flicking the cigar nub to the ground.
You cock your head, eyelashes fluttering. "Why don't you find out."
He grips your shoulders, spinning you on the spot, and shoves you against the wall of the jet; its gentle thrum vibrates your body as he presses himself against your back. "I can smell you, you know."
Your heart beats wildly like a hummingbird. You'd been aching since you stepped onto the jet. "Don't know what you're talking about." You purr dumbly.
Logan snickers at the blatant lie. "Keep those hands where I can see 'em," he grunts, gripping your hips and yanking you back. Your hands glide down the metal wall as your ass nestles against his cock. He's got you in a vulnerable position, bent over and exposed; any of your teammates could walk onto the jet any second. The thought makes you clench.
Logan unzips your suit from the waist down and groans as your curves spill from the tight material. You hide your face in the crook of your elbow as he takes in the sinful sight. "Y'sure are a pretty lil' thing." He comments against your cunt as hot breath ghosts over your core.
Two brute hands palm your ass, roughly kneading the curves before pulling them apart and brazenly spitting on your cunt.
A gasp catches in your throat, and it makes Logan smirk. "Knew you were a dirty girl."
As your lips part to reply snarkily, a hot tongue drags up your puffy folds from clit to taint, leaving no inch untouched.
Logan eats you alive.
At least that's what it feels like as he tightens his hold on your hips, making sure you don't pull away for a second to leave him chasing after you.
He smothers his face into your folds like a lion eating a fresh kill. His tongue lashes against your clit, sending rapturous shock waves up your spine. His nose nudges your taint as he roughly pulls you closer and spears his tongue into your core. He pushes and shoves your hips back and forth, making you ride his tongue until your knees buckle and you gasp his name over and over like a prayer. A dark growl vibrates your cunt as your slick spills into his mouth, and then he's gone.
As you're left reeling from the mindnumbing bliss, wondering why he stopped, he takes advantage and hooks a strong arm around your neck and lifts until your spine is flush with his chest, effectively trapping you in a headlock.
His bicep presses against your carotid as his cock catches on your soaked opening, making you stumble. "Can feel 'er clenchin'," he rumbles, and his beard scratches the soft skin of your temple. "Don't worry, Sugar. I'm gonna take good care'a 'er."
He sheaths himself in one devastating thrust. You have no choice but to take everything he gives you. Your cunt molds around his length, morphing and reshaping into the shape of his cock as he presses into the deepest part of you. He cruelly grinds his hips, kissing your cervix and tearing soft cries from your lips.
He fucks you with a steady pace, withdrawing his cock until the bulbous head catches on your withering hole before plunging it back in. Each shove forces you onto your toes. You anxiously grip his ungodly thick forearm for support.
The metal hull of the jet does nothing to tamper the lewd sounds of slapping skin and sticky arousal.
He presses his leather-clad forearm against your chin, tipping your head against his chest, forcing you to stare up at him. His features drip with untamed darkness as he smirks down at you. For a moment, fear tingles at the base of your spine.
"Gonna be drippin' out in the field," he chastises. "Wonder who else'll smell you?"
Logan's hips begin to pound against the curve of your ass savagely; muscles ripple, and skin rolls like waves; he chases his high like a man possessed.
The feral, all-consuming vigor from the older man rushes through you like a tidal wave, drowning your senses and free will. Your orgasm ignites, sparking so quickly you're powerless to the blinding pleasure that flares deep in your belly.
He sinks his teeth into your neck, growling like a wolf as he comes. His fingers dig into your flesh, pulling a soft, pitiful whine from your body. Copper fills his senses as your blood washes over his tongue, awakening his primal senses. The pain from his touch has your cunt swirling once more. No man could mark you like Logan, nor would you want one to.
Logan unhinges his jaw and eases himself from your warmth with a hiss. As the teeth-sized holes on your neck instantly begin to heal, he licks away the crimson that stains his lips. Your inner thighs glisten, stained with your combined arousal, as you lean against the wall of the jet, catching your breath.
"Made quite a mess, Sugar." Logan can't help but drag his fingers through the gluey spend. His gloved digits prod your swollen folds as he pushes the heady mixture back inside your warmth.
A lithe whine pours from your lips as he teasingly curls his fingers along your walls for added measure. "Think you can keep from drippin' while fightin' the bad guys?"
feel free to scream at me -> 💌
