The Engineer is a smart young fellow. He's quite the boy scout--smart, kind and...a little too trusting for his own good--but he's terrible at fighting. He's shy, and not very people smart, but stubborn. In spite of his rather...poor sword skills, they've never heard the term "give up".

Engie has depression. He struggles with it, even subconsciously. Thanks to Zelda, he's gotten far better over the years, but it's still rough some days.

He lost his fingers in an accident with the train when he was 9 years old. He wanted to prove that he was a great engineer! Nobody ever said he was a smart kid.

On the side, he LOVES herpetology (he study of reptiles) Ask him about snakes...please

Something I knew I wanted from this story was not just a main plot but other stories that take place before the ‘meet’ part of the au. And that's exactly what I have been working on for the past few months, multiple writes and concept arts to build these characters before their main story debuts. Slowly written works and possible comics will be posted but be warned this au is still very much a large work in progress, some of the Links not even having their final designs yet.

A special thanks is to be made to @mooutchi for being invested in this story since before it even had a name or even a clear idea of what the plot would be. Tchi is a wonderful writer and an amazing artist and I highly recommend checking out their blogs ( @mooutchi , @linked-constellation).

The heroes of Hyrule we all know and love are forced to band together when a mysterious force sends them on a quest across time to find and destroy a new evil..or evils. 

Our Links must learn to understand one another if they want to get this quest over with. However, that's easier said than done.

Okay guys I just discovered and read through all of Recalled AU last night and I Have Some Thoughts so be prepared for rants and reblogs here we go!!!

Sharing again cuz I just wanna reemphasize how much I love the character choreography here!

Like, first of all, the sheer audacity, the first image of the Sailor alone is so memeable. Imagine waking up to a PUNCH in the face & you look down to see some kid(TM) in an oversized shirt glaring their angy daggers at ya.

Then the Sailor is SO sassy the whole way through, she grabs Shepard’s arm from way up picking at his teeth to freak out over the Triforce, Shepard’s like ??? &… the kiddo, keeps holding on to his arm as he stands up. 😂

Then she acrobatically swings around to perch on his arm? Which, wow? She’s so extra. Her lil pose when she reveals her Triforce is adorable, & the way she commands the wind to casually show off as she introduces herself… meanwhile Wtf is she talking about when you read it from Shepard’s perspective. 🤣

Sailor is SUCH a kid(TM) but I like how there’s also hints of the time travel shenanigan experience she’s indeed already had so far. She’s fully aware of the possibility that she could come across a Link who doesn’t know what the Triforce means or that they’re a hero yet. I like that lil detail. There’s a method to her madness.

Like I don’t think finding a pre-adventure Link ever actually happened in Hyrule Warriors but to realize that’s a possibility shows she’s a smart kid & takes her self-proclaimed role as the commander’s confidant adorably seriously in the way kids do, & as kids do she immediately jumps from that to trying to recruit Shepard. 😂

if you leave your dog in a hot car he might drive away with it. BE CAREFUL!

Rancher / Twilight Princess / he/she / 21 years

Though he is but a simple farmhand from Ordon, Rancher is exceptionally brave, often going out of his way to help those in need. Possessing a heart of gold and dogged loyalty to his greatest good, Rancher is the ideal hero. The only thing marring her perfect image is a shadowy form and a regret that boiled his blood.

A huge thanks to @wildsage00 for all the help with her design! I really appreciated your guidance and advice with this one <3 she looks wonderful

Some fun facts about her under the cut!

This MIGHT just shock you, but he loves Ordonian Goats. Sometimes she wishes she could have been turned into a goat rather than a wolf--they're more friendly, but still powerful and not to be trifled with. It still hurts him that the goats hate her wolf form so much.

Bugs!!!! Every once and awhile, she'll go out to the city and help Agitha with her bug preservation, and he ended up learning a lot about them! His favourite sub family of bugs is Holoptilinae (a subfamily of Reduviinae, or Assassin bugs) because of their feathery little legs! Also, he WILL give you a huge rant about how Daddy Long Leg ""spiders"" aren't actually spiders (Minish would agree).

Rancher is their best horse rider in the group and physically the strongest next to Engie (guess a lot of chucking coal into a furnace makes you pretty physically strong). She can (and will) lift a fully grown Ordonian goat if she has to.

hey folks! heads up, there probably won’t be an update this week again. had a bit of a life shake-up (quit a job that was making me extremely miserable and asking me to use AI in my work) that’s gonna take me some time to sort out 😅

the comic’s not going on hiatus! I’m just gonna loosen up the update schedule a little bit, not that I was great at sticking to it before haha. updates will still go up on Wednesdays at 10am, just maybe not every other Wednesday consistently. I’ll post them when I finish them!

SEPFEMBER 2024 PROMPTS LIST

I honestly can't believe this is actually happening. This event was a shower thought a few months ago.

Here's a recap of the event: to participate, make at least one fanwork of any variety during September that features a woman or women from the Zelda franchise as the main character/s. All Linksmeets are welcome in this challenge, as well as general LoZ fans!

House of Heroes' 7th Anniversary!

I was busy yesterday so I had to draw this today

Honestly I can't believe I've known these characters for 7 years now. Feels like a lifetime ago, for several reasons.

I created House of Heroes back in 2017, back when I was starting to get into Zelda seriously. Since then it has gone through MANY major changes, and until maybe a couple years ago I mostly worked on it offline, without interacting with anyone else in the fandom. I was always too shy and felt like my work was not good enough to post online, especially with other Zelda and Linksmeet AUs being so dominating. Plus I'm bad at social media anyway. But since creating this blog, reception has been pretty nice! I know I haven't really gone into detail yet, mostly because I'm finally translating what has been in my head for years onto a medium, and that takes a while. I have always created this story for me and I make it at my own pace. It has helped me through many things, like a personal loss, and it is very dear to me.

So while progress might be slow, I have nothing but affection for this AU and its characters, and I'm eager to show everyone in the years to come.
