Meet Jack → A semi-friendly Gorgonopsid, a type of sinapsid (protomammal from the Permian Period.) His kind died out during the Permian-Triassic Extinction Event, which lead to the Dinosaurs.
He’s a lone male who wanders a good 10 sqkm territory and occasionally shares it with migrating predators and Scutosaurus that wanders in and out. He’s the apex predator of his era, and built like a lion in bulk with short bursts of cheetah-like speed.
Also the very first Sabertooth’d animal in existence. The rest would come as convergent evolution. Jack tends to wander in and out, occasionally meeting up with females for mating, but otherwise keeping to himself. He’s reluctantly befriended a few lingering predators that have chosen to invade his home.
