I get that everyone wants TikTok back but do we understand how bad it is that it’s happening the way it’s happening. Like we do understand how much of a horrifically choreographed process this is to boost and benefit Trump right. Can we all take a second to pause and go “hey wow something’s been getting fucked up and fishy for days now with Trump being turned into the hero about this even by the TikTok company themselves all of a sudden”?? (more chatter in the tags re tech companies and authoritarian autocrats)

had my personal assessment for work and it went well but i still felt like i could burst into tears at any given moment.

#my manager is like ‘oh you could be a strategist in the next year if you want’ and I’m like ‘i don’t even know what I’m doing tomorrow’#she’s really nice but I feel like I can’t be *chill* around her #she’ll joke around and stuff but I can tell she’s about work and stuff at the end of the day #and figuring out fucking GOALS #stupid fucking goals that is extra work outside of your already heavy workload #I hate the corporate world and the culture #I appreciate the benefits I get through work. that’s the only incentive to stay at this company and in this line of work #I just don’t care!!! I don’t care about how evolved my role!#why can’t i grow and evolve outside of work #how can i find value in myself outside of work #when we’re so conditioned to equate our jobs to our worth #i feel like I need more hobbies and interests outside of work to cultivate that #but work keeps you so busy! there isn’t time!#i don’t have time to get my work done in the way because of all the meetings! so I have to do some work on the weekends!?! bullshit!!!#i have to spend time prepping lunch and dinner so I have more time to work!??#i hate it here!!!#i think about lockdown during Covid which was scary but note having *any* responsibility #being able to wake up and think ‘what do i want to do today’ and i could make bread #or just read. or sit and not feel this impending doom because I’m not being productive #I feel like I had way better work life balance before I changed roles cause I had way less responsibility #but no. I took a new opportunity in the hopes of growing and evolving and now i barely have enough time to do my job during working hours #I’m sorry this is a horrible work rant. #i don't know if ill actually make a post about this but i just need to rant about it #with the stuff going on with bl*ke l*vely and j*stin b*ldoni #where i feel like people are still not getting the point regarding institutional misogyny and media backlash #where when it ends with us came out #there was a lot of criticism of blake due to how she marketed the film considering there was the whole ''grab your florals and watch the #domestic abuse movie'' thing and the launching a hairline off of it and the whole thing with her husband's gin company and a whole thing #where they were naming alcoholic drinks after things in the movies which is batshit insane and inappropriate #and there was talk about her and her husband crossing the picket line during the writers' strike #and all of that is very fair criticism #but of course twitter had people scouring the web for any time shed seemingly done anything wrong to shame her for #which is not fair criticism and amounted to a hate mob #and meanwhile her costar justin seemed to be actually taking the subject seriously i think #tbh idk much about the whole one versus the other thing like i was not comparing her to him so i cant talk specifics about how he handled it #but in a lawsuit its now come out that he was incredibly inappropriate and seemingly abusive on set of the film and hired the same PR crisis #team as j*hnny d*pp when that trial was happening #and that there was a targeted media push to smear her name #and obviously there is a very important point here regarding how willing people are to go after women for doing anything wrong #and how pervasive misogyny is #but im also now seeing people turning around and being like ''see! she didn't do anything wrong at all! shes innocent!''#and okay like. thats not true though #the way she handled domestic abuse during the marketing for the film was in fact inappropriate and very fucking insulting as someone #personally affected by domestic abuse #even if she was instructed to market it that way by the production company she is a grown woman who could have said no and not done that #there is still worthwhile criticism of how she handled it to be made and trying to paint over that is not only insulting but also missing #the entire fucking point #which is that women who are not perfect victims are still victim of this oervasive misogyny within the industry and society at large #and that it is still worthwhile to talk about it and side with them in this regard #saying that people were ''witch hunting'' her for the crime of ''being annoying'' is factually incorrect and perpetuates the myth that the #only people worthy of victim status are those who are bastions of innocence #what happened to her was wrong whether she be innocent of all or guilty of fucking up sometimes like humans do

I love all of these goofy product photos where the water bottle is extremely obviously just photoshopped onto a stock image of someone pretending to hold something or whatever.. very convincing..

#the last one where the water bottle is like nearly the size of the woman's entire leg ghbjbjhh #ALSO I know.. gross.. nasty.. amazon.. I was only looking there because I was trying to find an exact replica of an old water bottle #I bought like 6 years ago in a store and I just wanted another one of those and it seemed like the only place the old manufacturer #still sold was through amazon but.. alas.. I think they just don't make them anymore. so I have abandoned my hunt #I didn't actually buy anything. but I did get distracted clicking through product images for a few of them #it's bizarre how like............... idk.. WHY is this done??? Isn't this offputting to basically ANY potential customer?? or do people #not look at every photo/read the entire page/all product information before buying??#all of these are from like front page ''top sellers'' or whatever like........... how does this not hurt the brand????#If the company can't even bother to take a single photo of a real life person using their real life product then... that to me #is kind of red flaggy..?? even if you're an indie start up small business with hardly any funds.. still #A real photo of the product you are selling in a real actual non-photo shopped environment does not seem that inacessible #Maybe it's because everyone does everything on phones now?? So it's harder to see the pictures when they're smaller?#Kind of the same thing with ai art and also hair color photoshops lol.. On my full comptuer screen it is SOOO easy to spot ai art #like IMMEDIATELy from the little tells and ways certain details morph into each other etc. I dont even mean obvious dalle mini stuff but #like the Fancy High Quality Photorealistic AI art is still pretty blatant 98% of the time if you know what to look for. But I still catch #people sharing it a lot like 'omg where can I buy this pair of shoes!! :O <3' .. erm you cannot.. that is the most balatantly fake looking #pair of shoes I have seen in my life hhjbj.. the heels are both different heights. there's a different number of straps on each one. etc.#AND that phase back before colored hair was Mainstream and people would post photos like 'omg going to bring this to the salon!! dream hair #and it's like.. you can LITERALLY see the parts where it's 'colored outside of the lines' and is so clearly just a person with blond hair #that someone drew over with a tint brush or something not even very neatly. etc. etc. ANYWAY.. Maybe with phones it's harder to tell these #things?? To me so much of it is instantly recognizable and it's suprising to me that people either don't notice or don't care and will #interact with it anyway by buying the product or acting like some ai art fake furniture is real or etc. etc. ..hewwoo #Aslo sidenote - I think I've become soo cynical and tired of constantly being advertised to that I literally cannot shop without getting #exhausted. “boycotts work” in response to starbucks apparently losing money like… okay work to do what??? what has starbucks done, in response to losing money due to the boycott, to stop materially supporting israel? well. they weren’t materially supporting israel in the first place, were they. like perhaps i missed something in all of this but if i’m not mistaken it started because of them suing union members who posted about supporting palestine? which sucks! but… what is the express goal of boycotting them? punish them for being in support israel? sure! a perfectly good reason not to spend your money at starbucks! there’s PLENTY of good reasons not to give starbucks your money im all for, in general, not financially supporting them. but you can’t say a boycott “worked” if there was no goal in the first place. beyond making them lose money. you’re supposed to make them lose money SO THAT THEY WILL DO SOMETHING. starbucks is not a part of the official bds boycott list! mcdonald’s was added but starbucks still hasn’t been! because again. there is no clear goal. AND YET it’s the most “popular” thing to boycott. bc everyone can feel like they’re participating bc it’s *starbucks* and yeah you’re not buying HP or puma products every day to begin with but not buying your starbucks drink makes you feel like you’re doing something.
