Here's part of a scene from the Promptober story written by @detectivesebcas, "Stefano & Lily", which I implore you to read here. Loved the story they wrote, as it featured both Stefano being a protective father and Lily calling him Dad! :') Just very sweet to see how much Stefano cares for his new family and Stefano being protective is also kinda hot. Anyways, these are the main emotional beats that my brain decided to visualize. This prompt got me good in the feels.

Promptober 2024 Day 11- Stefano and Lily (AU, Post-STEM)

Prompt: Lily asks Stefano for help in dealing with a perv/kidnapper, and Stefano is so angry he wants to kill to protect his family instead of for art.

Warnings: references to child abduction

Stefano has been hard at work in his basement studio for most of the afternoon when the front door slams.  It can only be Lily coming home from school, but it’s unlike her to slam doors, so he sets his camera down and is about to climb the stairs when the door at the top flies open and Lily is staring down at him, face flushed and eyes wide.

“Is everything alright?” Stefano asks, though he already knows the answer.

Lily shakes her head.  She’s breathing hard and seems to be struggling to get words out, and Stefano so rarely sees her upset that he is already on high alert.  He hurries up the stairs to wrap an arm around her.  Close up, he can see the tears welling in her eyes.

She grabs onto him tightly, the way she usually does with Sebastian, and Stefano has a moment of panic because Sebastian should really be here.  Of the two of them, Sebastian is the one who knows how to be a parent, and Lily clearly needs her dad right now.  Unfortunately, Sebastian is at work, so Stefano resolves to do his best to handle this.

Lily still isn’t volunteering any information, so he steers her over to one of the kitchen chairs and sits her down, then gets her a glass of water.  He sits down across from her, and even though he desperately wants to start asking questions, he waits.  Lily is fourteen, as he frequently has to remind Sebastian when he’s being overprotective.  She’s more than capable of deciding when she’s ready to talk.

It takes a few minutes, but once Lily has gotten her breathing under control and gulped down some water, she goes to the wall dividing the kitchen from the living room and peers around it, looking out through the front window.

“There’s a man following me!” she blurts out as she turns back to Stefano, face just as terrified as before.

“What?” Stefano snaps.  He’s not sure what he was expecting, but not this.  “What do you mean?  Tell me everything.”

Lily sniffs hard and nods.  She sits back down on the chair across from Stefano, hands shaking.

“He drove up to me when I was walking home from school,” she says, eyes darting back and forth between Stefano and the floor.  “He asked if I needed a ride, and I said no, and I turned and walked the other way-”

Stefano wants to be proud of Lily for trying to keep herself safe, but anger burns hot inside his chest.

“-but he turned his car around and he just kept bothering me, so I cut through someone’s yard to get away, but then he came around the block-”

Stefano’s hands are clenched into fists at his sides.

“-and he wouldn’t stop bothering me, so I had to run-”

Lily is still shaking, and she looks over her shoulder toward the front of the house, even though there’s a wall there, but that prompts Stefano to interrupt her.

“Lily, is this man still here?”

Lily nods, wiping her face with her sleeve.  “He’s outside in the white truck.”

The anger that’s been bubbling up inside Stefano overflows, and he’s on his feet before he even realizes what he’s doing.  His first thought is of the audacity of this man to not only follow Lily home but stay outside her house without knowing who else might be there, but then he puts all of the pieces together.  Sebastian’s car is gone, his is in the closed garage, and Lily let herself into the house with her own key.  This man probably thinks Lily is home alone, and the fact that he’s still outside is chilling.

By the time he’s had all of these thoughts, Stefano is halfway across the front yard.  He closes the last few feet to the white truck and rips open the passenger door, much to the surprise of the man in the driver’s seat, who is struggling to put the truck in gear.  He’s not fast enough, and he’s not wearing a seatbelt either, so Stefano easily grabs him by the shirtfront, pulls him across the console and out the door, and throws him down on the sidewalk.

The blood is pounding in his ears, but he’s dimly aware that he is shouting, that the man is groveling and spewing platitudes, and that if he had a knife in his hand he would plunge it into this man’s chest without a second thought.  As he’s unarmed, he can only draw his fist back, and he’s just about to bury it in the man’s face when-

“Dad!”

His first thought is that Sebastian isn’t here.  His second thought is that Lily is talking to him.  He freezes, shifting his gaze to Lily who is standing on their front steps.

He’s about to ask her why on earth she interrupted him from pummeling this waste of flesh into the pavement, but by that point some of their neighbors have already started to converge on their yard.  Two or three of them stand guard over the man who is still on the ground apologizing with a look of utter terror on his face, while a fourth calls 911.

Stefano stumbles back to their front steps, heart still racing, and sits down.  Lily takes a seat beside him.

“He would have deserved it,” Stefano says simply.

“I know,” Lily says, “but that’s not who you are anymore.”

She puts an arm around his shoulders, and Stefano smiles vaguely to himself.  Lily’s not quite right.  The old Stefano would have had no qualms about killing this man, but he would have done it in the passion of creating art.  Today he almost killed in a blind rage, and it didn’t feel even remotely the same.  His thoughts are interrupted when Lily rests her head on his shoulder.

“Thanks for protecting me, Dad.”

This time the warmth in his chest has nothing to do with anger.

I think I found a pic of Lily in the first TEW??? I just completed chapter 4 and there were all these pictures in the building where you go down all the stairs to get to Leslie?? 

Then I was looking at all the pictures of the Castellanos family, and I keep forgetting that Myra was in the mix, too. 

But anyway the pic of Lily(?) really threw me! Never seen it before.

¿No entendiste el primero? No pasa nada, este tampoco lo vas a entender. The Evil Within 2, así como suena, sin nombres ingeniosos para una secuela, solo: 2. Sinceramente, en esta secuela hicieron cambios que a mi parecer fueron buenos. Tienes la opción de poner el juego en primera persona, tú eliges si quieres controles como el primer juego (porque cambiar de unos controles a otros hace que te confundas muchísimo), o si quieres que la cámara esté en modo cinemática o no. A partir de ahí, el resto es muy parecido al primero.

Contamos de nuevo con nuestro querido Mordec- Sebastián Castellanos, en lo que parece ser una fumada total, donde hay ciertas cosas que hacen que digas “¿Esto que c*ño es?”. He jugado a este juego dos veces también, y la primera vez fue como si hubieran cogido muchas ideas raras y diferentes y las hubieran juntado, pero sorprendentemente hace que sea más interesante jugar. En esta nueva historia, evidentemente relacionada con el primer juego, tenemos al mismo tipo de enemigos en un mapa relativamente abierto alrededor de un pueblo, pero estos mejoran en varios aspectos. Por ejemplo, hay varios enemigos cuadrúpedos, un “zombie” amorfo que escupe ácido, y los “zombies” normales del primer juego, solo que estos corren como Usain Bolt por alguna razón. También hay una señorita muy agradable que nos tararea dulcemente el “Clair De Lune” del primer juego, y que si te ve estás j*dido, algo parecido a nuestra amiga del primer juego, la loca de los pelos. Este juego se centra en varios enemigos principales mientras Sebastián busca a su hija, y tenemos personajes del antiguo juego como Kidman o nuestra adorada Tatiana, así como la introducción de nuevos personajes. Tengo que destacar lo evolucionado que es el nuevo “sitio seguro”, y lo bien que sienta escuchar de nuevo el “Clair de Lune” por primera vez desde que te acabas el juego. Realmente yo no habría salido del nuevo sitio seguro, que ademas tiene un gatito negro muy majo. Nuestra querida Tatiana ya no se pasea por ahí, solo la vemos (y nos da algún susto si miras alrededor y tiene la cara pegada a nuestro Sebas) en la zona de mejoras de Sebastián.

A pesar de que el anterior juego era para pegarte un tiro algunas veces, este tengo que decir que es mucho mejor, y que se nota que trabajaron en mejorar. Lo único que podría decir que no me gustó fue la mecánica de los ordenadores como “teletransporte” hacia otras zonas, las misiones secundarias y el mapa tan grande teniendo en cuenta el juego que es. Sin embargo, es mi opinión personal.

Calificación: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (cuatro estrellas de cinco)

Promptober 2024 Day 23- Fall Activities (Post-STEM, AU)

Prompt: fall activities

“Can’t we just get apples at the grocery store?” Lily asks as their car scrunches to a halt in the gravel parking lot of the orchard.

Sebastian turns to look over his shoulder at her.  “We could, but it’ll be more fun to pick them ourselves.”

Lily’s expression is skeptical.

“They have apple cider donuts,” Sebastian offers.

That seems to get Lily’s attention, and she unbuckles her seatbelt and grabs the door handle.

“Don’t forget your sweatshirt!” Sebastian calls after her.

He gets out of the driver’s seat, and looks across the top of the car at Stefano, who is getting out of the passenger’s seat.

“She has a point,” Stefano says, raising an eyebrow.  “They do have apples at the grocery store.”

“Not you too,” Sebastian says.  “Can’t you appreciate this as an artist?  Wouldn’t you want to find your own materials?”

“I used to do that,” Stefano points out, “and as I recall you did not approve.”

Sebastian laughs.  It’s weird to talk so casually about their time in STEM, but even a few years later it feels like a lifetime ago.  Fortunately these days Stefano’s materials are limited to film, darkroom chemicals, and framing supplies.

“Okay,” he says.  “Maybe you shouldn’t find your own materials, but we’re going to get the materials for this pie.

He locks the car and circles around to Stefano’s side, wrapping an arm around him and pulling him into a kiss.

“Besides,” he adds, nodding at Stefano’s turtleneck and jacket, “you look good in your cold weather clothes.”

Stefano looks good out of his cold weather clothes too, but this isn't the time for those kinds of thoughts.  Lily has already run ahead to investigate the donut situation, so he takes Stefano’s hand and they stroll through the parking lot after her.

Sebastian can tell he’s not going to get anywhere with Lily until she’s had a snack, so he buys hot apple cider and donuts for all of them, and they sit on the patio looking out over the orchard as they eat.

The view is beautiful, and Stefano snaps a few pictures before Sebastian grabs a basket and loops his arm through Stefano’s.  They stroll into the orchard with Lily running ahead of them to scout for apples.  As they crunch through the leaves Sebastian is glad he convinced everyone to wear sensible shoes.

They spend almost an hour there, wandering among the trees and debating the best apples to pick.  Lily and Stefano have a whole set of criteria for the perfect apple, whereas Sebastian sometimes prefers a unique or interesting one.  When they’re finished, Stefano pays for the apples and they get back into the car.

They make a quick stop on the way home because Stefano spots a park where the trees are decked out in vibrant shades of orange and red, and he takes some pictures of the scenery and of Lily.  Sebastian even convinces him to let Lily take one of the two of them, although Stefano loudly protests being the subject of the picture instead of the photographer.

Back at the house, Sebastian begins cutting up the apples for the filling of the pie, while Lily and Stefano roll out the pastry dough they made yesterday for the crust.

“I didn’t know you knew anything about baking,” Sebastian observes as Stefano rolls the dough out on the counter.

Stefano frowns.  “I suppose I must have learned it somewhere…”

His words trail off, and Sebastian moves over to place a hand on his shoulder.  Stefano still has gaps in his memory, especially from his life before STEM.  He doesn’t talk about it much, but Sebastian can tell it bothers him sometimes.

After a short pause Stefano shrugs.  “No matter.  Who knows what else I might know how to do?”

“Yeah,” Lily agrees.  “Maybe you know how to fly a plane…or…or do brain surgery.”

Stefano laughs.  “Well I hope we are never in a situation where I have to do either of those things.”  He lifts the pastry circle to set it in the pie tin.  “Why don’t you roll this one out,” he says to Lily, indicating the other ball of dough.  “We need to cut it into one inch strips for the top layer.”

Lily gets to work, and Stefano steps away from the counter to lean into Sebastian.

“What am I going to do about my memories?” he sighs.

“It’s alright,” Sebastian says, kissing him on the temple.  “You’re making a lot of new ones.”

They’re all making a lot of new memories, because just at that moment, Lily decides to apply some more flour to the counter…and the floor and the stovetop and the air all around them.

Sebastian immediately breathes it in and starts coughing violently, while Stefano turns to Lily, who is laughing hysterically.

“Too much flour,” he observes.

After a little clean up, Stefano returns to where Sebastian is still chopping apples.  He picks one up from the counter, turning it over in his hand.

“This must be one of yours,” he says.  “It’s a bit strange and lumpy.”

“Hey,” Sebastian says, trying his best to sound offended.  “Some of us like ‘strange and lumpy’.”

“Oh, I know,” Stefano says.  “Believe me.”

Stefano helps him get the rest of the filling together and they assemble the pie and get it into the oven.

Lily is watching it like a hawk, crouched in front of the oven with the light on, and while Sebastian suspects this might actually make the pie bake more slowly, she seems to be having fun, so he leaves her alone.

Stefano is washing the mixing bowls and utensils, and Sebastian moves in close to wrap his arms around him from behind.  He brings his lips right next to Stefano’s ear.

“I love you,” he says softly.

Stefano turns his head for a quick kiss.  “I love you too.”

Sebastian pauses for a moment before he adds, “And you’re not weird and lumpy.”

Stefano just laughs.
