In my continued rewatching of the Lilo and Stitch cartoon I find myself surprised at how frequently the experiment of the week doesn't require any outright 'defeat.' Sure a few are overtly antagonistic and plenty need to be caught, but a lot of them are either disinclined to attack or just need a bit of guiding and acknowledgement. I just can't help but find it cute when a monster-of-the-week type show isn't about battling. One of the 'antagonists' literally got reformed with a hug. Another was perfectly willing to knock down buildings with sonic blasts until they got saved from getting hurt, and immediately became a snuggly lapcat for their rescuer and greeted them with tiny polite honks. Honestly this show mostly gets by on charm alone.

Yaarp

Primary function: To create devastating sonic blasts

He is designed to create devastating sonic blasts from his megaphone-like antenna that can shatter windows, flatten buildings and cause acute loss of hearing. Luckily, he can also reduce these noises to soft, gentle honks.

Pleakley was sent out to capture him because he lacks ears, which made him immune to the experiment's sonic blasts; he also befriended and named Yaarp after saving him from a collapsing cave.

One true place: At Lilo's hula school as an alien invasion alarm and buzzer

The Lilo and Stitch fixation is imminent, gents. My brain is trying to comprehend what each experiment would look like in a human au because I’m desperate to make a college/high-school au stat!

I mean, imagine Sample as the coolest kid on the block? DJ-ing at friends’ parties and being an autistic icon? (Bro’s entire primary function is echolalia so I’ll hear no “Sample is neurotypical” slander). He’s absolutely in a band with Yaarp, Slushy and PJ; Slushy and Splodyhead are dating; Reuben is Italian American and makes a killer pastrami on rye; Slugger’s head of the baseball team; Stitch and Angel are campus’ “it” couple; and Bonnie and Clyde are the rebels.

Idk, man. It’s in my brain now and I doubt it’s gonna leave anytime soon🫡
