maya hadn't expected the other to know sign language. it was rare back in her normal world, never mind this place that was straight out of a fantasy book. but considering this girl seemed to be foreign to this place too, the fact she knew sign wasn't as shocking. "can't give you any dating advice," maya signed back, she had never dated anyone. "but the best place to find food is in the kitchen off the main hall. apparently we can just take what we want." that was suspicious. people always wanted something. but even with her on guard nature, this place had an aura of serenity about it that was hard not to get sucked into.

Lie-la #MLBS6Spoilers

This is where we're already noticing the difference between Lila and Gabriel.

Gabriel used to exploit people's weaknesses by bossing them around, and would akumatize them against their will more often than not.

But Lila has a more subtle and sneaky approach.

We already know that Lila (Lie-la) is a pathological liar and that she's good at it. She once said "People only believe what they want to hear": this is her strength as a villain.

Here we can see she's sweet talking the kid, kneeling and sitting next to her to be at her level instead of towering over her (like Gabriel would have done) in order to pretend they're equal and that Maya has nothing to fear from her.

"Forgive my intrusion".

Lila is pretending to care about her feelings, this way Maya who has been rejected from everyone she tried to show her drawings to feels seen and heard. (This could also be a parallel with Manon who wanted to play with people and everyone was too busy to acknowledge her so she became the Puppeteer).

When Lila adds "Only if you agree of course", she gives the kid the illusion that she has a choice, and Maya thinks she's the one in command, the one that's making this decision, without being aware that all that sweet talk got to her head and that she had no choice but to agree with what has been offered to her.

Lila is a way more clever opponent than Gabriel ever was and she'll definitely give Marinette a run for her money.

I can't wait to see more of this season!

first I'd like to note the callback to the episode Chameleon. very nice.

next, I'm curious about who us and them are. when she refers to them, she may be referring to herself as Chrysalis, or she may be referring to someone else. as for when she's referring to us, I can't help but to think of the way season 5 ended, with the bright light shining. it makes me think that may be the person who is helping her. perhaps her from the future? perhaps Tomoe? perhaps a different threat we haven't been introduced to yet? not sure, but very interesting.

also loving the implication that she's just at the cafe spying on marinette and adrien on their date.
