How’s Susie look, since you mentioned her in one of the last asks? Does her role change in the story?

I don’t have a final design for her yet nor finished writing her but I’ll share what I have so far; here’s some ideas I had for both

So like I said in one post, Susie was one of the victims of the bendy cult, and was murdered during one of their rituals. She is then reborn in the toon realm as twisted alice.

She appears in chapter 3 and she still has the obsession with being ‘perfect’. She’s still out to get Boris, and Boris is weary of her because he was one of the clones that managed to escape from her (that’s why he’s all messed up)

She hates bendy a lot because of her past memories of the cult, she wishes to mess up his plans

Henry still does the tasks for her, I’d imagine they are more varied and unique than the ones in game

The tasks you complete slowly allow her turn into another form (No design yet) and at the end of the chapter you have a boss fight with her, in order to protect Boris

At the end boss fight, it is not henry who defeats her but rather bendy, this is because she was about to tell Henry about bendy’s real identity before being cutoff by having a piano dropped on her by bendy

None of this is final and most are likely to change cos their pretty old ideas we had

As a relatively new inhabitant of Whiteside, there's not a lot Bendy has heard about people in high positions of powers such as Cuphead Dish, but from the little things he's picked up around him - and trust me, he knows how to pick up a thing or two - what he knows is a few things: he's the second highest authority just behind the Head Angel and Head Demon in these lands, he's unrelenting in pursuit, and you do not wanna be in his radar - in training or otherwise. Especially otherwise; in training at least they fucking pay you for that.

Here he is! My blorbo, the skrimblo - the silly!! I love his updated design, it looks like it's actually something he would use, even if it's just a uniform he's making his by refusing to tie that fucking tie (are we pretending he's not doing it only bc he's a rebel, but also bc he can't tie a tie to save his life? We are? Cool)

Anyway below the cut y'all can find the full character ref sheet + some of the things I've changed between the original design and now! (HEAVY rambling ahead y'all! I went on PARAGRAPH about this idiot <3)

In the original design he had this weird vest/coat thing on top of a dark shirt and dark grey pants + boots, all in a similar color scheme to the one he has now! The biggest change has to be the hairstyle, the coat and the pants! Though the shoes are also different - really, the only thing that stayed the same was the shirt lol. I decided to keep both the hair and the shoes I used for his design in the illustration I made for chapter 334 of Inky Mystery so it wasn't that jarring of a change, let me know if y'all like it! You can't see it really well due to the coat, but his belt buckle is supposed to be a big, golden feather! Y'know, because he's an angel ;)

Oh, and there's that! He's an angel here! Ofc he's still a Dish, we wouldn't have him any other way (except when we do lmao) but in this case it's less of a distinct thing from other toons than how it is in Inky Mystery! Some things are different, of course, but Toons and Dishes are more or less the same here - the only real difference is whether they're Angels or Demons!

In terms of which characters his design is based off of, they are Wodahs and Ater/Arbus! To be fair, Ater and Arbus only differ in pattern of speech and personal physical attributes from each other - in terms of clothes they're pretty much the same; I chose these characters because in the world of The Garden of Eden au he's gonna be playing their roles (if losely): for Wodahs, he's the Head of Military (Wodahs is the Head Angel in the game) and for Ater/Arbus, he's gonna be a spy for the Head Demon that helps rule over Whiteside! (Ater/Arbus both are twin cat spies for Kcalb, the Devil that helps rule The Gray Garden) - this is how I'm gonna be basing the designs for all Inky Mystery characters for the au!

Now specifically about the intro card: these are images shown whenever a new, important character the protagonist - Yosafire for TGG, Bendy for TGoE (The Garden of Eden au) - knows so the player can get to know a little better! Here I changed the intro card more than just adding in the new TGoE!Cup design; as I said in the text box for the intro card: he's the Head of Military! Whereas in the previous design he was the Head of Security - they're intrinsically related roles int The Garden of Eden due to the paficist nature of Whiteside, but there are differences between them; whenever I get around to Mugs' design y'all will see what I mean - I'll probably get more into their roles there. I also changed the name of the castle! From the original (BlancBlack) which I'd left in probably bc I didn't think of anything better lol I've now changed it to Griseo: gray in latin! Which is basically what BlancBlack is trying way too hard to do lmaoo

Lastly, I changed the last line in the intro card: the original said "Hm. I wonder where his wings are...?" and I've changed it to say "Aren't angels supposed to have wings...?" Because - and it'll be elaborated more later on - Bendy isn't from Whiteside! And where he's from there's no angels, so he has no idea.

About your theory… i find it kind of fascinating really but… i believe that’s not the case, well, at least for the new story that @jencilthepencil/@lemonlysunny wants to tell us XD

Let me elaborate: in the past Charlie (which was Lily) was a cuphead oc, and i think the reason Jencil/LS draw her, Carter, Daisy and Squirt like this was to represent the fact they are toons, because you know, the whole idea of cuphead was to be inspired by the old cartoons.

And if you see on her YouTube channel, you can see that Barron had created them because he’s an artist so it would make sense your theory. But with the new comic coming and Jencil herself saying that Charlie and the others are no longer cuphead Ocs, that they are now original Ocs, we can only especulaste what this new story is going to be about:

As we can see on the image above, we see that baby Charlie was brought by a stork.

Now you may be thinking: “but which family was going to receive Charlie?” Or “where did she came from?” Or (honestly i was also wondering that one too) “where’s is her brother???”

Well, only time will tell and… isn’t baby Charlie adorable?🥰

Ahem, I’m getting off tracks here, what i’m getting at is, i think Charlie is not an ink monster nor an experiment… but perhaps she was created by some sort of magic or science…

But i really liked your theory! It’s really creative and at some extent it would kind of make sense X3

Now it’s my turn on theorizing who is going to find Charlie first, because by the looks of it, she was brought into a forest (apparently storks tend to be terrible at their jobs of bringing a baby to the family that asked for them 🙄):

Young Carter: i think we will see a young Carter strolling through the woods and finding baby Charlie all alone and ending up adopting her as his sister

Barron: it would reference the old source material while changing it a little bit and making it look new. I imagine that Barron would be scrolling through the woods and found Charlie crying all alone… at first he would be looking for anyone but after noticing that there was no one, he would pass through and try to ignore her… but then the guilt would be too much and he would come back to adopt her.

The most improbable but still i like to theorize :3, Phantasmo: i think that Phantasmo’s mansion is very close to the woods… i could be wrong about that one but oh well, i think he would be floating around the woods after he heard a baby crying and was too annoyed by the noise, so, he went to investigate. When he finally found Charlie, at first he just faced palm himself and muttered under his breath that it was probably the fault of a stork… then he would poke little Charlie and try to get rid of her: by finding the nearest house he could find and placing her on the front door… little would he know that she was going to be a lot more of a pain in his ass then he initially thought in the future, lol

sorry im gonna go full on hater mode here because oh my god? oh my god

i’ve got a sneaking suspicion that this came out now as damage control for the AI thing because 1. it wasn’t included in the game all along like BATIM’s archives were and 2. this tweet

like was it thrown together in such a rush that they forgot a whole ass character?

or it is a joke and was a planned action half a year after the game came out but eh who knows

either way this is not what i’m here to rant about (cuz im sure this is gonna turn to a rant)

it’s about bad writing, bad exposition and bad game design. buckle up!

i see what they mean with the smile being a challenge to create, you can see in countless animations for fansongs how different artists tackled that and for one i think they did that very well

however. why the clothes exactly? is it just a meta reason with no reasoning in-universe whatsoever?

and look i’m not a fan of the ink demon having a voice (though i respect the craft behind it, the voice actor is very talented, it’s just a personal preference) BUT if you made the ink demon talk you should by logical extension either make toon bendy talk as well or explain why the hell he’s talking? i can see it being distracting but there are characters that have squeaky annoying voices in games and they’re fine (and it’s not like toon bendy is around the player for a super long time)

i dunno what logic this whole thing operates on anymore but if joey commissioned the ink machine then it should be his and arch gate got all his shit after he passed away so idk what retrieve is supposed to mean here

but it could just be badly written sentences and the archive is full of those (once again making me think that the thing was done in a rush)

i do like the bit about Wilson influencing how things look under him being in control of the cycle (though they have a very silly definition about what the cycle is but more about that later)

dude. the beast bendy design was already bad in BATIM and they made it even worse in BATDR like what TToTT

its just an angry mountain of muscles, the batim design at least had that leg injury thing going on which made moving with front arms make more sense, this dude right here is just a big inky gorilla (and not in a good way)

playing as the final form in on itself isnt a bad idea, does sound quite fun, personally tho i did not enjoy the very ending on the game

shouldn’t audrey be unmotivated then and struggling to figure out the world on her own? the player should also be haunted at this world, like it’s a horror game bestie ! don’t make me comfortable

i suppose it implies that there’s something we might still learn/theorize about it, like for example if it was the machine drawing her in or gent wanting to get the machine back and manipulating things into place from behind the scenes

i really wonder how you can enter in and out the ink realm unnaturally but good to mention why he looks like that if he’s supposed to be nathan’s son

you cant just say that a character was important to the story, its not gonna happen from words

i do want to like her, she seems nice and there could be interesting things to her backstory but as for the plot she really didn’t do much, sorry, betty

if you wanna say that pushing the plot forward by giving audrey that drink and then alice appearing outta nowhere and kidnapping here is a good big contribution then idk what to tell you... its such a bad way to make the plot progress, it was so confusing because characters were behaving as in forced to do Things to Progress the Plot (especially Audrey drinking that thing at all like seriously girl?? and Alice appearing comically at the last sip like wooooooow are you for real)

they should hire a writer to help them get this mess together, maybe get adrienne in on it, i dunno, because clearly if they need to be specific and not leaving things open like in batim, then they arent managing very well

The holidays had finally started to arrive, mountains of snow appeared all over the land and a group of toons decided to spend their holiday together this year. They all spent time with each other a lot but also, complications for some would come up and this kind of gathering wasn't always as easy to do. So, here they were now, making snow sculptures and throwing snowballs.

"Cuuupheeeeaaaadd….." A lil' devil named Bendy said through a shivering tone. Cuphead, as his name implies, turned to see his friend, chilled to the core, walked up behind him and rested his head on his shoulder, the other male flinching at the sudden contact. "I'm coooollldd…."

Cuphead stopped making a snowball for a second. "Oh yeah…..Yer a demon so you musta be freezin' because you ain't use ta' it!"

"Of course he is, Cuphead!" Mugman, Cuphead's twin sibling, stated. "Even I knew that! That's why I suggested he stay inside!"

"Well, excuuuuuuuse me! I wanted ta' have em' join in on ta' fun!"

"Cuppy~" Bendy cooed, Cuphead flared up at the contact, feeling like he was grinning like an idiot as Bendy traced his shoulder. "Come on~ Let's go inside, please?~" Cuphead immediately nodded a yes, looking at Mugman.

"Ya heard em', Mugsy! He's cold! We gotta take em' in!" The red male decided to pull Bendy in for a hug in-order to keep him warm, Bendy happily returning the embrace. "We can continue ta' snowball fight later!"

Mugman tried to protest but was stopped by another person speaking.

"Leave em', Mugman. No use arguing against em' at this moment." Oswald the Lucky Rabbit said, alongside with his brother, Mickey placing the top hat on top of the snowman he and Oswald were working on.

Mugman sighed, understanding what the rabbit had said. Mugman swore that everytime Cuphead and Bendy came into contact with each other, Cuphead would be more willing to listen to Bendy than his own brother. It was slightly getting annoying at this point.

"Yes, Mugman, it's about time we went inside anyway." Mickey, Oswald's younger brother and main voice of reason among the group, responded, having finished the snowman.

The three headed inside, the house that the holiday festivities were held at was Mickey and Oswald’s home (For Oswald, it acted more as a temporary place to stay while in the toon world and not in Wasteland).

“Hey! Welcome back! How was it out there?” Felix the Cat turned the corner, holding a small tray with three decorative glasses, a dark liquid in them, as he greeted the three who were now inside, taking off the extra layers of clothing by the door.

“Cold.” Mickey chuckled, taking a glass before handing it carefully to Mugman and then to Oswald. Finally, with all drinks distributed, the mouse took one for himself.

Felix snorted at the response; “Cuphead and Bendy mentioned it being cold outside when they came in.”

“Where did they go, anyway?” Mugman asked.

Felix nodded towards the couch, Mugman walking over to peer over it. There the two were, Cuphead, looking completely out of it and Bendy laying on his body, head resting on Cuphead’s shoulder as the two were cuddling close to each other, watching a Christmas themed movie.

The blue male returned to the kitchen, looking back with a feeling that felt familiar but foreign at the same time. 

“Hey, Mugs, why don’t you help me out with making cookies?” Felix called out to Mugman. The younger toon came over to help, putting on an apron. “So…..” Felix began; “What’s got you looking that way?” 

Mugman glanced back over through the doorway. He could see the couch Bendy and his brother was on but couldn’t see over it. “Mmm…..I dunno….Bendy is the only person Cuphead easily got along with other than me when it came to seeing that person over and over again but as much as I trust them, I can’t help but distrust Bendy’s intentions with Cup. It’s confusing….” 

“How so?” 

“Bendy is a demon and from the books I’ve read through to study how to deal with demons since me and Cuphead have run into a few different ones, it mentioned that the type of demon Bendy is, an imp, it’s said that many of them are succubi, demons who feed off affection and love. I feel like that when Bendy comes near Cuphead and uses his charms, Cuphead can barely speak and goes along with everything Bendy says! It’s crazy! He barely listens to anybody, why would he listen to him?!” Mugman explained. 

Felix didn’t respond, simply smirking to himself as he snickered. “No, I get that feeling of worry but honestly, you don’t have anything to worry about! It’s completely normal!” Felix handed some raw gingerbread dough to Mugman and the latter got to work on kneading the dough. Felix, meanwhile, mixed the new batch. 

“Alright, Alright. If it makes ya feel better, I’ll monitor em’ ta’ make sure no funny business goes on for yer sake, Mugman.” Oswald walked up behind the young cup sibling and took a gingerbread man to snack on. “Oh! By ta’ way, great cocoa an’ cookies, Feels. Tastes great!” Oswald followed that up with putting a hand on the cat’s shoulder, squeezing it beneath his grasp.

Mugman almost laughed at the fact that once Oswald had fully gotten out of the kitchen, Felix reacted the exact same way his sibling did near the lil’ devil.

Mickey seemed to have noticed as well, covering his mouth so he wouldn’t laugh out loud.

“See? Perfectly normal for everyone! No magic involved, just love for someone.”

Mugman chuckled, acknowledging that fact but the doubt still lingered. “I got it, Mr. Mickey.”

Mickey smiled and patted the young toon on the head with a smile. “You’re a good brother, Mugs.” Mickey wandered back into the living room, not before he tapped Felix on the shoulder. “Back to earth, Felix.” Felix shook his head, realizing that he was just standing there, lost in his thoughts.

“Heheh, sorry! Anyway, where were we, Mugman?”

The two fixed more cookies as the Disney siblings hung out in the living room, glancing every so often at Cuphead and Bendy, asleep and warm.

“They’re kinda cute, aren’t they?” Mickey whispered to Oswald. Oswald nodded in agreement, returning to whisper in Mickey’s ear. “Yeah but ya heard ta’ blue mug.”

Mickey smiles as he nods. "Yeah. I did. Just something I thought about."

Sooner or later, Felix and Mugman finished up, heading out to the living room. Felix hesitantly sits next to Oswald, glancing at the rabbit to see if he's going to be pushed away.

"Excuse me, Oswald. M-May I share the blanket with you and Mickey? And Mugman would like that too…." Felix blushes as he looks at Oswald.

Oswald looks at him, curious but he eventually sighs and offers his blanket to the two. Felix gets close to Oswald but the rabbit pulls the toon cat closer with an eyeroll.

"Come 'ere. I won't bite." Oswald mutters. Felix looks away, extremely flustered as Mugman cozies up to Felix. The mug snorts at Felix's reaction.

He really had nothing to worry about, did he?

honestly, he doesn't care that much, there's easier ways to get food and fast, the problem is that he can't right now. There's a certain follower here, which is already unusual, these weird toons following him everywhere and there isn't a place Wilson hasn't placed his stupid technology to keep him stuck in this form.

it's just annoying, that's it. he could lead them around, sure, but it's more dangerous for him than anything right now, he really hates this stupid form.

and he has no idea how to respond, in general, to them.

One asks about why he's so quiet, he tries to explain but they think he's just tired or just had..an ink attack or.. whatever. "His clothes are all full of ink!"

"The whole place is full of ink."

"Yeah but he literally has ink dripping form his hair. And have you seen his eyebags?"

He wouldn't call it an attack but, sure I guess. Everybody's creative in their own way.

He needs to start being more creative because if they keep up with the cans and the lunch break room, they'll be stuck here forever.

He could wait until they are asleep, but none of them seem to be wanting to sleep.

those two dishes keep mourning over a dead body they haven't truly met before.

The girl keeps analyzing everything, and she's way more close to the truth than anyone, but it'll only drive her mad, like everyone here.

and the cat, acting sweet and kind, acting fatherly towards this demon he doesn't even know.

Either he's dumb, or something else. nothing positive though.

"Look once you feel better we can start looking for Boris." We can look for Boris right now actually, wouldn't hurt to pay a visit to that silly anxious wolf. Maybe those two can stop crying, it's pathetic really.

and since no one here is gonna do anything, unless he does anything, he just got up and left.

They are all confused and wary, especially because he knows this place despite "being his first time here", the girl is intrigued too, her curiosity will get her killed, the cat is too but he keeps to himself. Not like her.

She asks questions. She analyzes, she talks. The thing no one does here.

she points things out, she tries to find logic and reasoning behind madness and Ink. That's why she's driving herself crazy.

You can't find logic behind something that has nothing but no sense at all.

but it's not much of a problem for him, the rule here is that you are either mute, to keep yourself safe mostly, or you go mad. No in-between.

"this is probably an old abandoned studio some crazy lunatics used for either protection or just to have a roof on their head. they probably had some experiences with the ink illness, it could explain why they keep talking about this "ink demon", they could have used the word demon as a substitute for illness."

"like, when people say you're possessed by a demon when you act crazy?"

"Kind of. They think the ink illness doing is because of a demon, or think the illness is a demon itself tormenting them."

If he could sigh loudly, he would.

"why are we even exploring this place. We should go." He's right. This tall smoking cup is right. You should go.

"Because bendy has no intention to stop, and frankly I'm not leaving him here with who knows who." this cat is going to die first.

"is he looking for Boris?"

"Obviously! he's the only one that we haven't found."

"What about the others? Like Alice or..black hat, I don't know." oh? They know Alice too?

well he could do her a favor then.

"Wasn't Alice in heaven? And what would hat even do here?"

"One of his weird stupid experiments?"

"You think this is one of his experiments to figure out the ink illness?"

"Probably. He had a guy with the ink illness caged up like some animal."

He can't even tell who is talking and who isn't, they all sound the same, say the same thing. and he isn't bothering to make a difference between all of them.

"Oh my Lord!" But for the life of him he can't tune out Sammy's annoying voice.

and those finger guns again. They aren't pointing at him so he's fine, they are pointing at Sammy.

"hey! Don't you dare get any closer, ya weirdo."

A man now made of ink, willingly turning himself into a monster to please a lord that didn't exist in the first place.

"Oh, I'm so pleased my Lord! A gift just for me! oh you flatter me." The man says, holding his axe like his newborn child. A faint laugh from his lips.

"I'll make sure this time the sacrifice will make you happy." Ready fo attack, ready to slice their heads off. But how can you go against toons who can bend reality? How can you against things that were built to not follow logic?

Sammy is only human, a man pretending to be ink, he can't compete. but neither can they, truly a show worth to watch if it wasn't for that grip on his shoulder from the older cup, holding him like if he was some fragile vase that was gonna break any time soon, a friend to protect, something defenseless.

Which he was, but he wasn't in danger at the moment, not when Sammy was here, not when hundreds of lost ones have heard the chaos. Not when so many souls floating and swimming in the dark, lurking and waiting to meet the new guests.

no one is going to hurt him though, no one is going to lay a finger on him.

They all worship him, they all love him, he doesn't get why, but in times like this, he's glad.

but he doesn't want to be at the center of attention. He needs a corner, a table, anything to hide and be ignored until he can make a run for it and be finally free from this cage of a body that he's stuck with.

"I said back off!" He hissed, he surely knows how to act brave. He is not. He is nervous, he is slightly shaking. He is scared of the unknown in front of him, on his head, on the floor, kind of everywhere but he doesn't know.

"If any of you get any closer imma start shootin' and it's all over for you." But it's not effective on people whose life matters no more.

Is it ok if you write a thing about HS Sammy getting turned back into a child? (Both mentally and physically) I think that would cause some adorable shenanigans to occur (with the toons help ofc u-u)

Yeah, sure!

Sammy had long been the victim of magic shenanigans. And today was no different. Joey had been doing....something, and now Sammy was a child.

Now, this in itself presented a pretty big problem, as he couldn't very well do his job when he was a little kid. But there was another problem. And that problem was that Sammy had no memory of anything that had happened after the age of ten, the age he seemed to currently be. Meaning he didn't recognize anyone in the studio (aside from Jack) and didn't understand how he'd gotten here or where his parents were.

"....So this is bad," Joey said, glancing over at where Sammy was hiding behind Jack.

"You think?" Bendy growled.

"Do you think you can fix this?" Henry asked, trying to will away the headache he could already feel developing.

"Of course I can!" Joey quickly assured him, although his confidence faded quickly. "I just...don't know how long it'll take to reverse this..."

"I can watch him until he's back to normal," Jack volunteered. "He knows me, after all."

"That would be great, thank you, Jack." Henry gave Jack a weak smile.

"You're welcome." Jack returned Henry's smile before focusing his attention back on the small Sammy. "You wanna see my workstation?"

Sammy hesitated, then nodded, shrinking back further in the way that signaled there were too many people and he was overwhelmed.

"Alright, come on." Jack gently guided Sammy out of Joey's office and through the halls toward the Music Department.

As they traveled, Sammy remained glued to Jack's side, looking very much as though he were trying to hide. Which, honestly, he probably was. Sammy had never done particularly well with being suddenly thrust into new environments. He needed time to mentally prepare himself for the new space and the new people. Jack knew this had to be incredibly overwhelming for the small version of his friend. Which was why he was going to do his best to make this easier for Sammy.

When they got to the top of the stairs that led to the sewers, Sammy abruptly stopped, pulling back.

"What's wrong?" Jack asked.

Sammy shook his head, covering his nose. "It smells," he said. "I'm not going."

"Why don't we go to your office, then?" Jack suggested.

"My...office?" Sammy echoed with a frown.

"It won't smell," Jack said.

Sammy's frown deepened, but he nodded, taking Jack's hand again and following him back up the stairs to the office. Sammy squinted a bit as they approached the office, his gaze zeroing in on the sign above the window.

"Why does it have my name on it?" He asked, tugging on Jack's sleeve.

"Because it belongs to grown-up you," Jack answered, fishing out the key to the office and unlocking it.

Sammy's eyes widened at this. "...Grown up me must be really important..." He said quietly.

"Something like that," Jack laughed, holding the door open and ushering Sammy inside.

Sammy tentatively stepped inside, looking warily around. Jack remained where he was by the door, watching Sammy look around. It was interesting to look at Sammy and see the seeds of behaviors he regularly displayed as his adult self. The way he squinted when he was concentrating particularly hard, the way he folded his arms around himself when he was in a new environment.

He'd forgotten how cute Sammy had been as a child too. Granted, he probably hadn't noticed it when he'd been a child himself, but seeing child Sammy as an adult was really driving home to Jack just how adorable Sammy had been as a kid.

"What's this?"

Jack's attention was drawn back to Sammy as the boy pointed to the sheets of music on the desk. There were a few finished compositions, as well as a half-done song for Alice.

"It's sheet music," he answered, walking over to stand next to his friend.

Sammy let out an adorable huff, folding his arms. "I know that," he said indignantly. "But what are they?"

"I'm not sure what you mean." Jack gave an apologetic smile.

Sammy huffed again. "What are they for? The names are weird."

"They're songs for cartoons," Jack explained. "You wrote them."

Sammy's pouting was abruptly stopped as his eyes went wide. Slowly, he looked up at Jack with an awestruck expression.

"...I wrote them?" He asked quietly, pointing at himself.

Jack couldn't help but laugh. "You sure did. And I'm writing the words to go along with them."

Sammy's face split in a huge grin and he began to flap his hands. "We're making songs together!" He exclaimed, bouncing up and down.

Jack's smile widened. "Yeah, we are!"

"We're making songs together!!" Sammy repeated, beginning to jump around excitedly.

The display warmed Jack's heart. It honestly felt really good to see a little Sammy so ecstatic at the prospect of making music with him. He was happy to know his friend liked working with him.

The moment was interrupted, however, by a gentle knock on the door. Sammy froze, immediately scampering to hide behind Jack's legs.

"It's okay," Jack quietly assured him before addressing whoever was at the door. "Yeah?"

"I hope I'm not intruding." Susie's voice came from the other side of the door.

"Well, I wouldn't say you're intruding..." Jack glanced down at Sammy, who was staring intently at the door and clinging to Jack's pants.

Susie gave a little laugh. "I'm sensing there's a but."

"There is," Jack laughed as well. "Sammy's a bit skittish right now, that's all."

"Ah, right..." There was clear disappointment in Susie's voice.

"Is it okay if she comes in?" Jack asked, gently patting Sammy's head.

Sammy frowned, hunching his shoulders and continuing to stare at the door.

"...Just for a little," he said.

"Thank you." Jack turned back to the door. "He says you can come in for a little."

"Really?!" Susie exclaimed.

Like a startled cat, the loudness of the statement made Sammy withdraw further, prompting Jack to ask Susie to be a bit quieter.

After an apology, Susie tentatively entered. She looked on the verge of squealing upon seeing Sammy's little face peeking out from behind Jack's solid form, but she managed to keep it together.

"Oh, he's adorable..." She whispered.

"Who're you?" Sammy demanded, eyes narrowed.

"This is Susie," Jack said. "She sings some of the songs you and I write."

Susie gave a little wave. "Your songs are very nice."

Sammy continued to stare at Susie, his eyes still narrowed. Slowly, though, he crept out from behind Jack.

"Oh, you're so cute..." Susie said, still making a valiant effort to not squeal or scoop Sammy up.

"'m not cute..." Sammy grumbled, folding his arms. "...So you...sing?"

"I do!" Susie confirmed with a smile. "Would you like to hear?"

Sammy hesitated, thinking about it for a good long minute, before tentatively nodding.

Susie cleared her throat, standing up to her full height. Then, she launched into "Lonely Angel".

As soon as the first words left her lips, Sammy looked utterly enraptured. He stared at Susie with unbridled wonder as she sang. Jack made a mental note to bring this up to Sammy once he was back to normal. He couldn't wait to see how flustered Sammy would be.

"You have a beautiful voice..." Sammy whispered once Susie had finished singing.

"Aaw, thank you!" Susie put a hand to her chest. "You know, I was just about to go record a new song. Do you want to come watch?"

Sammy hesitated again, looking at Jack.

"I'll come with you," Jack assured him.

Satisfied by this response, Sammy turned back to Susie and gave a little nod, reaching out to take her hand.

Susie stifled a squeal, then led Sammy out of the office, with Jack following behind.

Sammy spent the rest of the day glued to Jack and Susie's sides. Despite his initial wariness of her, after hearing her sing he was suctioned to her side like a koala. Something about her made him feel safe, although he couldn't explain why.

Everyone thought it was absolutely adorable, especially Boris and Alice. They had the good sense not to say this while Sammy was around, for fear of making him embarrassed and cutting the koala impression short, but they were certainly thinking it. Wally was also making a mental note to tease Sammy about this later.

Thankfully, by the end of the day, Joey had managed to figure out a way to return Sammy to normal. It did take a bit of convincing to get little Sammy into the spell circle, but once they did it was a fairly simple process of executing the spell.

When the smoke cleared, there was adult Sammy, bright red and looking mortified.

"We will never speak of this again," he whispered.

"No promises~," Jack said with a big grin.

Sammy groaned, covering his face. Why did this always happen to him?

Bendy: Secrets of the Machine Thoughts

Putting them under a spoiler cut for readability

So far, there is a lot of intrigue regarding GENT and their role, as well as the potential return of the Nightmare Run characters.

GENT's involvement so far as been more on the sidelines in the games. It's implied they have similar issues with the supernatural, and they are running experiments with the ink the Machine produces, the books also backing this up with the reappearance of Archie Carter. However, with the new character. Riley Wells, introduced, it creates a more interesting layer to this, in that it is implied that she was recruited by GENT shortly following her dismissal from JDS. Now, if she is a villain or a victim is up for debate. It could be that they hired her as a test subject similar to Archie Carter and her metamorphosis was just far more severe as a result of the traumatic experience in her childhood, or perhaps she provided the specs that ended up producing a real-life version of "Bloodwheel", the more monster-y version of Gaskette that even gets a whole song in Riley's flashback.

Riley's story is also interesting in that it provides a canon explanation for why the Nightmare Run toons are more monstrous, though it really only does so for Gaskette. She's never shown drawing any of the other bosses, just him. Which makes me wonder if maybe she was part of the character design for only him, and the others are all going to get their own stories later on in the game. I really do hope they go this route, mostly because it would be a nice callback to the no longer available Nightmare Run, and you could have some real fun with the bosses 'backstories', depending on how involved you want to be.

Can think of a few things immediately off the bat: Chester being another example of a childhood fear turned into a debilitating trauma, except involving someone who has thalassophobia strong enough to rival H.P. Lovecraft. Kind of paves the way for a lot of spooky imagery involving the ocean, ocean life, and ink.

Dewey at first seemed a little comical to think about in this context, after all, a fear of librarians seems extreme, though thinking more on it my thought is that he's the product of a different type of emotional stuckage. Instead of a fearful person, perhaps Dewey was created by a very angry person, someone who had a lot of trouble controlling their temper and would frequently blow up at seemingly minor issues. After all, Dewey's main character trait seems to be his temper, as we remember from his character card that he has a disproportionate reaction to Bendy knocking over some books. Granted, between the fact that the exact quantity of books is never mentioned, and a cartoon being a cartoon, it makes me wonder if Bendy might not have knocked over a few books, but more likely a few stacks or even whole shelves worth. I mean, what's funnier, a few books coming down or the library getting a spontaneous remodeling job thanks to a careless patron?

...It's probably not so fun for the librarian, but you get my point. So, potentially, we have someone who has a temper problem creating this character as a way to offset their issues. It might just be less helpful and creating a bit of a feedback loop, where they're constantly ruminating over their problems rather than addressing and moving on from them.

Canoodle was another one that eluded me a bit, though there are two potential driving forces that could have fueled his creation. On one front, junkyards aren't exactly friendly places sometimes, and it would be easy for some sort of accident to happen that could produce some sort of negative association, though there is also the fact that a sentient can being in a junkyard creates this almost weird mental image. You'd think that'd be a dangerous place for him, and this is somewhat proven true if you beat him in Nightmare Run, as he's promptly crushed and disposed of. So, perhaps a preoccupation with death, or a person who is constantly cheating bad or dangerous circumstances? It's something, and it could definitely be interesting played out if that's the direction they're planning on going with this.

There are also plenty of other fun moments and little easter eggs for fans, so either way, we do get something fun. I would honestly be over the moon if they did something for all of the Nightmare Run toons though. Gaskette is a good nod, and Riley's backstory intrigues me given the circumstances, and especially the apparent involvement with GENT. Kinda makes me wonder if they're, in a sense, keeping tabs on people who were associated with JDS, people who maybe would have some stronger ties to the art being produced there and potentially have a bigger reaction when the ink is used on them.

It's something to think about, for sure. If anything, I'll enjoy using these puzzle pieces in my own work.

I REALLY WASNT EXPECTING TO GET CAUGHT UP MAKING TLO AUS BUT HERE WE ARE. i am very excited to present the TLO Toon Trio AU, aka the au that's eaten my brain most recently.

i realized one day that the TLO trio had just the right personalities to be a dang near perfect fit to the JDS toon trio of Bendy Alice and Boris. really Joey, you had the perfect souls so close and yet so far! the top drawing is how i imagine they see each other, and how other toons see them. but to everyone else, they look like the bottom drawing!

If there were more than one of our good little toon friend Bendy, how much mischief do you think they could get into? Or if not just two, but three- or four.... How many Bendy's would be too many?

Oh, but there WAS more of me, way more! It was a blast! Yeah, all the way back in the studio, me and a few other Bendys teamed up and formed our own group we called "The Ink Devils!" There were about six of us, and we had our own nicknames since we didn't wanna be called by our numbers. I ain't tellin' ya what my name was, so don't cha ask! None of us went by "Bendy," and that's all I'm tellin ya. There were Specs, Grumps, Mouthless, Loafer (sometimes we called him Shoe!), Rat, and me. We had a lotta fun beatin' up ink monsters, prankin' ink people, gatherin' food, and makin' our sanctuary, but of course, they eventually got taken one by one. I miss them a lot, but I do visit their ink puddle sometimes!

Beth Rambles about Bendy

because holy crap I may have been hit with a horrifying aha moment. And full disclosure, I am aware that it sounds very Tin Hat and making a lot of assumptions, but at this moment I need to get it spewed out of my head. So be aware that I'm going to be emulating the Pepe Silvia meme

And just as a heads up, I'm mentioning the designs that were leaked in the Dreams Come to Life graphic novel so click Keep Reading at your own risk! And please don't be rude or try and go after anybody, this is my own opinions and frazzled freight train thoughts.

So I just got hit with a realization regarding the graphic novel and the whole decanonization with the books.

Mike and Meatly did it so they could avoid the backlash of the designs in the graphic novel and whatever they've got planned with the games moving forward, especially as it pertains to the character's designs. Or alternatively, they did it (the blunt "the books aren't canon anymore") to distract and/or pull one over on the fans so that way they can put their designs into the games and not deal with as much as scrutiny.

Cause we've seen with BATDR that they've improved the designs of the human characters compared to Joey in BATIM, and given we have both The Cage, a game that's focusing on the horrors of GENT (which involve human experimentation as far as BATDR hinted at) and B3NDY probably focusing on the aftermath of BATDR from Audrey's perspective, which you would think would involve her trying to deal with her new living toon roommate while factoring the consequences of being pulled into the Inky Hellscape on a Monday/Tuesday depending on the time Wilson dragged her in and how long she was actually trapped there (which ya know, wasn't answered in game). Either way, there's a lot of potential of more human characters to interact with, and if they really wanted to push the idea of a more "mature" and "experimental" [And boy do I have thoughts about that], what better way than having in-universe film of experiments or photos of the victims, or even flashback sequences we could play through?

It's not a secret that Mike and Meatly are very controlling in regard to their IPs (Adrienne confirming that they had a hand in every book; what happened to Showdown Bandit; Mike's own comments in the Bendy AMA; etc) and they have a tendency to ignore the room and stick their foot in their mouths (The fact it was only Mike that made acknowledgement of the Kindly Beast Firings and the accused workplace abuse; Mike deciding to "be clearer" on Meatly's comment regarding the books being fun extras; the situation less than two weeks ago that led to Mike to delete his Twitter again; etc). And let's be real, the quality control on the graphic novel is abyssmal, even for a extremely rushed project. Like I'd argue this is past "get it done good enough" or "we're making games for stupid kids" and I'm in absolute shock that this is what happened.

Obviously the idea of them on purposely setting things in place to either distract the fan base or try and claim control over the "canon" would imply that they are competent enough to think ahead and be able to convince Scholastic to risk customer goodwill, but I find it so strange that they started this takedown of the books's role in the canon less than two months away from Fade to Black's release and then the continuing snowballing. It's probably more likely that Mike got tired of people praising the books for their work and wanted control, and basically convinced Meatly that they had to change the books' canon status because it wouldn't fit with their plans, and they didn't think of the consequences, especially after people found leaks and preview images and the fact that people still know what Mike had said in regard to diversity back during the Bendy AMA:

And while I've been putting blame on Mike, as he's been the one to be more vocal and obvious, Meatly is just as bad for letting this to get to this point, for letting Mike stick his foot in his mouth and constantly put the Bendy brand in a negative light and undermine him with every opportunity. Like I don't know what the business relationship is like, but at some point you gotta put your foot down.

As much as it's unlikely, I do like the theory @mickeys-malarkey posted where there could be more to the whole graphic novel of Buddy's take on events that just being an adaptation. I mean the idea of the graphic novels being an extension of Joey's attempts to cover his ass would be an amazing spin on the Mascot Horror media outside of the video games.

Hopefully those two manage to keep quiet for a while and not pull a "OwO here be the Cage's trailer~! And Lone Wolf Release!" and try to drown out the graphic novel's release but I'm not holding my breath xp

I think it'd be cool if we got more diverse monsters in future Bendy games. Like, I got an idea of the different groups they could all fall into:

The Studio Workers/Gent Experiments (the monsters we have already e.g. The Lost Ones, The Searchers)

The "Toons" (we have the Butcher Gang yeah- but but! I have an idea I think would be SUPER COOL to include that would really up the potential gore factor in an unique way)

The Ink Humans (I WILL EXPLAIN THIS IN DETAIL AFTER THE TOONS)

Ok, so with the studio workers/GENT experiments, we already know. We're familiar with the Lost Ones intimately now thanks to Dark Revival having them EVERYWHERE & the Searchers. I think a lot of us have seen the latest teaser of the poor Lost One (?) trapped within a reverse bear trap-contraption. Love that. Chefs Kiss. I like to see more tortured Lost Ones. The teaser also showed us like what their skull looks like. I WANT TO SEE MORE! SHOW ME THE LOST ONE ANATOMY FOR LORE!!

Now... for the "Toons"

I had like this idea for toon monsters. I know we got like the Butcher Gang, but I want something a little more towards what Alice Angel is but more...

I took inspiration from media like Bendy: Dreams Come to Life book, the old concept of Ralph Bakshi's Cool World (back when it was meant to be a horror film) and a deleted scene of Who framed Roger Rabbit. Basically, the idea is having like a toon be physically attached to the human like a parasite. And both the human and toons are conscious, with the human trying the damndest to peel the toon off while the toon is trying to stay attached.

The scene in Roger Rabbit is disturbing enough on its own, now imagine what Bendy could do with this!!

I don't necessarily want ACTUAL toon-toon monsters. Mostly because I don't want there to be a possibility of the Ink Demon being overshadowed. The Ink Demon's gotta be THE toon enemy. The Butcher Gang are fine, they're short and kinda on Searchers level of threat for most fans, especially if you came in from the Ink Machine era. If new toons are introduced (which I do want because I want the Bendy toon cast to be expanded too beyond the 6/7 characters we got currently)

Now for the Ink Humans. They're fairly simple. These would be the failed Audrey's! And- I like to think, once GENT discovers what Audrey is or has already known it- they could attempt to replicate Audrey. And these would end up being the most messed up looking humans because GENT can't make anything right. Could be very gorey. Very body horror-y.

Anyhoo, these are my ideas. When I say monsters, I don't always necessarily mean "enemies" we have to fight. They could just be like part of the environment or be neutral/friendly characters like Porter/Heidi. To expand the world of the studio more and show how the world inside the Ink Machine is growing and expanding beyond what Joey Drew had created.

STORYTIME OF HOW I WAS HARASSED BY AN ALICE ANGEL ROLEPLAYER 100% REAL NO CLICKBAIT CALLING ED SHEERAN AND GRIMACE IN 3:33 AM (goes very wrong) 😺

Okay okay, this all started on Wattpad in a thing called "crew" What is a crew? well, I don't know if there are also crews on the English-speaking side, but well, a crew is basically like a tiktok team, but first you have to sign a book to be able to join as the character you want, in my case, I joined as Bendy.

There were other toons in the crew like Felix, Oswald and Cuphead, there were very few of us who roleplayed toons, but then, a girl joined the crew as Alice Angel (I'm not going to say her name 🗿)

Everything was going well, she was too nice and we socialized, there was nothing weird there

Until 😀

The girl started asking me to make her Alice and my Bendy boyfriends, I don't like that ship, so I rejected her telling her that my Bendy was aroace (Lie, I wanted him to be Cuphead's boyfriend💔) she "understood" and she stopped asking me that.

It wasn't long before she started doing things... Weirds in the roleplays, besides making her Alice flirt with my Bendy, she made Alice behave in a very sexual way, she made her put her b00bs his face and even she makes Alice touching bendy in his... you know 💀

That made me feel SO uncomfortable, so I eventually stopped responding to her roleplays.

One day I got curious and started checking her profile, until I found a reading list where she had many, many, BUT MANY Bendalice smut fanfics, the worst of all is that most of them were about Bendy... r4p1ng Alice 🥲

and if that was already too bad, I found another reading list where there were smut fanfics of... Skid and pump with Lemon demon 💔

AND I WAS LIKE

LIKE, BITCH, WHYAT THE FVCK1NG FUCK??? 💀💀💀

SO YEAH

SHE WAS A MOTHERFUCKING PROSHIPPER

At that moment I decided to stop talking to her completely (if you're wondering why I didn't block her, it's because you can't block someone without first talking to a co-crew leader, but since I was too shy back then I didn't I did 💔)

Before continuing, in a crew there are books made by the members of the crew where there are mini activities to roleplay, for example, 30 days of OTP books, crush questions, camp, hunger games, etc.

and just as there were normal books, there were books with nsfw activities.

And guess what 😺

SHE STARTED TAGGING ME IN THOSE NSFW BOOKS SO WE COULD ROLE BENDALICE SMUT, SHE EVEN TAG ME IN A VIOLENTOMETER TO MAKE MY BENDY MISTREATED HER ALICE 💀

She kept sending me those books privately and on my board, she kept spamming me that, the spam was so massive that I decided to leave the crew

I blocked her and uninstalled Wattpad so I wouldn't hear from her anymore 💔

Some time later, thanks to a friend, I found out that she became an nsfw artist where she sexualized Alice in disgusting ways 🥲💔

Thanks to that experience I hate Bendalice more 💔

PD: all of this happens when I have 15 and she have probably 19 😺💔

* Spoilers for Bendy and the Dark Revival

I did not have high hopes I'm terms of story, and sadly I was right. BATDR is one of the most 'okay' games ever, especially its ending. Very overwhelming.

So apperantly everyone in the studio is just, not real I guess? Henry is just a thing Joey made to torture. I don't know why this was the direction they took. Kind of thought there was importance of them setting up how a soul works, and how that a toon needed one to be perfect. But I guess Ink Demon can just, do that now?

Which I really did not get. I predicted it. I predicted a lot of these plot points, but. How is Ink Demon able to switch between Bendy and Ink Demon. Is Ink Demon aware of this- is Bendy aware? Is it just that Bendy is just a little guy and than suddenly morbs into Ink Demon. Like a werewolf or something. Never really explained!! At all!! Like a lot of things!!

There was like, only two letters from workers from the studio from BATIM. I kind of felt a whole lot of, no character anything? Like the only characters who are developed are Audrey and Joey. What is Allison even doing. Why was her reason she can't let Audrey come is Tom. When later you can pet Tom.

Did I mention that this game ends like how Mario Odyssey's ending is. If you know you know.

I kind of thought we'd get more of the cult, but Sammy shows up for 0.03 milliseconds before dying. Henry has a model now which is cool I guess.

The game play is also a whole lot of nothing. There is like no enemies ever besides some lost ones. Didn't think we'd actually only see the butcher gang only once. And only seeing our first searcher way into the game. I understand not wanting to overwhelm the player. With how many enemies there can be sometimes in batim. But pretty sure everytime lost ones appear they just almost immediately are too much. I understand no boring puzzles or what not. But during this nothingness I wish we had character moments. Because there is almost no character.

I like the implication that projectionist dies every single time loop. Lmao

I felt like the plot was kind of picking up during Susie's section. But then I realized the games almost over and it has to end somehow. And it just resumed to being a whole lot of nothing happening.

And on the occasion of the imminent release of the BatDR, there's something I want to show and tell you. It was at a time when chapter 4 came out and chapter 5 was about to come out. I was really looking forward to it and unfortunately...I was a little disappointed in how bendy made the final form. I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't this. I guess I just wanted more bendy stuff than the 3 chapter chases. But that's not the point now.

So, chapter 5 came out and I started watching the lets play (unfortunately my computer at the time was...eh.... very unlikely to be able to play the game so I watched the streams and read the wiki). At the time I was really looking forward to another Bendy. In what sense is another one you ask? Well we already had two versions of the main toons . Boris the regular/boss of chapter 4. Also two Alice, one more brilliant, the other more distorted by the ink. And we could say we saw a good and evil version of everyone except Bendy. Bendy was the only one. And I was really looking forward to seeing another Bendy. Small or not.....m...At least wouldn't try to kill us.

I had a mini theory that he was the one who left the gold ink inscriptions. He is an ink demon after all and probably made the another one type of the ink. He could have followed Henry the whole game. He's small, after all. He could walk in the space between the walls or on the ceiling (maybe because of that in the first chapter a board fell from the ceiling) and he could put that cardboard hinting to Henry that he's there. This is all my fantasy, yes yes YES. I know. But I liked to think about it. NO I'm not talking about: "Oh my god why did they make that big guy who missed leg day and not add the toon Bendy!?"

No, not at all. The game came out good and atmospheric AND with an interesting setting. Just after I'm done watching the lets play, there was an assumption about a lil demon that was still there but didn't show up in front Henry. And I drew that little dude, yeah. I had a couple of sketches that I never implemented and accordingly not posted. But now you can look at these little sketches. I will try in the near future to draw them in the digital and show all
