I'm starting to love the soft, dream-like quality of the Smena Symbol's lens the more I shoot with my crisp 00s telephoto on the SLR the more unique the '77 Soviet camera's photos look

Still cutting the aluminium pipes to get all the pieces. I need for my 1:1 model 36 pipes in total and the 2 meter long pipes aren't that really handy. Luckily I finished them all yesterday. I really like the metal gloss of the pipes when they lay next to each other.

So I've been really disappointed I haven't been able to shoot film as of late due to my big K-1000's shutter timing going screwy. However, I remembered that my father found an old Yashica Twin-Lens Reflex in a bucket of camera stuff he grabbed when the school he works at tore out their photography lab.

After reading some reviews of this thing, it seems to be shockingly well-regarded considering the price point it was sold at (and believe me, you'd hear about it if it sucked. Camera nerds are worse than Audiophiles) being variously described as "fall out of bed simple" and "the sharpest lens I own".

Needless to say, I have claimed it as my own, and I'm taking it on my camping trip tomorrow. I'm excited to see what kind of pics it can knock out! After going through the box o' film in the freezer I found out we have a half-dozen rolls of slightly expired 120 film that dad bought for his Hasselblad, so I got plenty of shots to learn on before I have to pay anything beyond development costs
