So, I’m seriously looking into getting into tall ship sailing (waiting on follow-up from an interview rn) and I’m wondering for getting into it more long-term -
what do people do after sailing tall ships? Like, it’s a pretty physical job, and I’d assume there’s a point where your joints just can’t keep up with it.
Are there other jobs in the industry that people move to? I’m not really keen on the idea of moving up in the ship’s hierarchy- admin and being someone’s boss both aren’t really my thing. Do people retrain in completely different careers? Go back to whatever they were doing before they started sailing?
Anyway, I know your sample size might not be super large so I’d appreciate anything. Thanks a bunch!
This is hard to answer directly - on the one hand sailing tall ships is such a niche industry that there are limited pathways for straightforward advancement. But on the other hand, it overlaps with such a large number of other industries, and requires such a jack of all trades skillset - tourism, carpentry, history and preservation, hospitality, marine electronics, etc. etc. etc. - that there's a lot of ways forward for what I guess I'd call lateral advancement: moving to another job which uses most of the same skills. So there's no one answer, but if it helps, here's some things my tall ship deckhand friends have ended up doing, after no longer deckhanding tallships:
Get a captain's license and keep sailing. Captains often have it a bit easier physically (balanced out by the mental stress lol), and are paid better. Owning your own boat is optional; plenty of companies hire captains by the season to sail the boat, while the management of the company is dealt with by the actual owners. (This is what I did! I don't have the sail-hauling arms I did as a deckhand, but my knees and bank account are both in better shape).
Bosun, first mate, engineer, some other specialized non-captain crew member, usually involves licensing or other education that's useful down the road if you switch to an adjacent career
Racing yachts
Captain for hire on private vessels
Outward bound guide, other wilderness education programs
Harbor cruises, lobster tour guides, and other motor-powered tourist boats, both as captain and as crew - you have the patter and the safety skills but you don't want to deal with the hassle of sails
Water taxis, ferries and other passenger vessels
Lobstering, fishing, aquaculture, tugboats, other non-tourist waterfront industries
Marine surveyor, marine electrician, other specialized technician
Working in a shipyard - good fit for all the fit-out skills of sanding, painting, varnishing, covering and uncovering the boat
Cruise ship hostess
Train conductor (the passion for the early 1900s carried over well)
Working at a a museum focused on local maritime history
Tour guide for local buses, walking tours, etc
Boatbuilder (IYRS, Wooden Boat School)
Teaching the captain's license courses (nota bene: there were obviously some other steps between deckhand and teacher, notably ten years of being a captain in between. But this is what they settled into when they decided sailing was too physically taxing, so I want to include it).
Carpentry, house painting
Designing and selling custom made van-homes (apart from the technical skills, living on board a ship helps familiarize making use of every square inch of space)
Sailmaker
Of course there's other friends who went on to try something completely new and unrelated - I think because so many of the people who start sailing tall ships are here for something completely new in the first place, that's not an intimidating prospect so much as an exciting one. But many of them did make use of tall ship skills even when moving on from tall ships, so I hope the above list is helpful in giving a broad sense of what can follow!
#schooner bum life#i am probably forgetting some tbh#for fun. some unrelated post-sailing jobs:#artist#dog mushing in alaska#cheese making#sword maker#chocolatier#orchestra conductor#model#looking at that i think there's probably also something to be said for the confidence it takes#to pursue something you find interesting#even if it means starting from scratch#the same leap of faith that gets you on a tall ship can take you somewhere else

Finally got my MP5 to do this
That symbol circled in the upper left corner means the monitor is connected to a network. I finally got around to running an Ethernet cable for the monitor. Let me just say that running wires through any American house is a pain in the ass. Because of the way American houses are built you have your main floor and then you have the sub floor. There is a bit of a gap between the sub floor and the main floor, but most of the time you want to run the wire through the wall and into crawl space. So you end up having to drill through the wall, then through the subfloor and running a stranded (very flexible wire) through the wall then through a tiny hole in the subfloor is a huge pain in the ass. What I thought would be a 5 minute job turned into an hour job. And I’m not paying myself to do the job either. I’ve run wires through walls for people plenty of times because while I’m not a licensed electrician I can do electrical work and can actually do it better than most electricians. Anyway now the monitor can be in my bedroom and talk to my server in the basement that is running the Philips XDS software which is a windows application that acts as a small clinical network server allowing printing to my printer and keeping a database of recorded vitals. Interestingly though the monitor will force a first generation IPv4 address system on the network making the network use local IP addresses that start with 10.0 instead of the usual 192.168. This is because the Philips Intellivue monitors are setup by default to request a static IP address starting with that 10.0. A lot of legacy devices require that 10.0.x.x IPv4 address. By legacy devices I mean devices older than 20 years. While my monitor isn’t older than 20 years as I’ve mentioned before the Intellivue line is just and adaptation of the HP/Agilent Viridia line of monitors which has been around since the 80s. Funny thing is I’m currently taking classes to learn to become a machinist and I’ve inherited hundreds of thousands of dollars of machinist tools from my grandfather but it’s fun to show up to show up to class with tools stamped with Hewlett Packard Laboratories. HP labs was the division of HP that was in charge of medical equipment, scientific equipment, and electronics test equipment so some of those tools helped built prototype parts for the HP Viridia line of patient monitors and tons of other medical equipment made by HP. I’ve mentioned before that my grandfathers greatest contribution to medical technology was etching the silicon wafers for the custom integrated circuits in HP’s first ultrasound machine.

til that the $14,000USD HVAC system we had installed six months ago will commonly crash (in a way that you cannot diagnose from inside the house, and requiring a tech to drive here and go into the backyard to reboot it) if there's any kind of power surge on the line
which fortunately the fix is just to install a surge protector on the main line coming into the house, and that's maybe 500 bucks total for parts and labor, and then the *well known to be crappy in this part of town* power grid won't trip up this *incredibly delicate goddamn hothouse flower of a machine*
if only it had been possible for the sales guy to mention this when he and housemate were speccing everything out at our dining room table, so it could have been installed *with* the HVAC *by the electrician who was already on site turning off power to the house to install stuff anyway*
if only!!!!!! ah well I hope the company who installed and warranteed this thing enjoyed paying one of their licensed electricians triple time or whatever to drive out here on a Sunday and inform us of this (since we're in their lil care club so for us callouts are free)
#ineffablefool original post#not good omens#disclaimer!!! yes I am privileged to be able to just drop five figures on home repairs/upgrades! but#i mean#is there really an amount of privilege that makes it reasonable to sell me - a person who lives in an area with known spotty power -#an aircon and heater that will crash if given spotty power#when the fix would have been a like 3% upcharge to have a guy install a fix while he was already here shutting off my power anyway???#did i mention it took out my heater and i live in Wisconsin#(this is after we had the twice-yearly upkeep service done on it less than a week ago#and the tech for that told housemate 'the filter was filthy [shows picture he took of filthy filter on the ground] but now it's all good'#and then later that day housemate was down in the basement and saw that the tech had just put the dirty filter back in!#the clean replacement was just sitting there in its box!#like how does that count as successfully completing the job!!!#)#anyway that + watching Point Break while eating meatball subs was my day

Electrician Penrith: Your Guide to Finding the Best Electrical Services in Penrith
Electricity is an essential part of our daily lives, from powering our homes and businesses to ensuring safety and comfort. In Penrith, a fast-growing city on the outskirts of Sydney, quality electrical services are in high demand. Whether it's wiring a new home, repairing electrical faults, or installing energy-efficient lighting, having a reliable electrician is crucial. In this blog, we’ll explore everything you need to know about hiring an electrician in Penrith, the services they offer, and how to ensure you're choosing the right one for your needs.
Why You Need a Professional Electrician
Electricity is not something you should take lightly. DIY electrical work is not only dangerous but also illegal without the proper qualifications. Licensed electricians are trained to handle complex electrical systems, ensuring safety and compliance with Australian standards. In Penrith, electricians are essential for a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial tasks, including:
Electrical installations: From new wiring systems to appliance installations, electricians ensure your home or business is powered efficiently and safely.
Maintenance and repairs: Faulty wiring, flickering lights, or circuit breaker issues are common problems that require professional attention.
Upgrades and renovations: As technology advances, upgrading your electrical system to handle modern appliances and gadgets is a must.
Emergency services: Electrical emergencies can happen at any time. Having a reliable electrician available 24/7 ensures that issues are resolved quickly and safely.
Common Electrical Services in Penrith
Electricians in Penrith offer a wide range of services tailored to both residential and commercial clients. Some of the most common services include:
1. Electrical Installations
Whether you’re building a new home, renovating, or adding an extension, electrical installations are a crucial aspect of the construction process. A licensed electrician can help design the electrical layout, install wiring, power outlets, lighting systems, and ensure everything meets local safety regulations.
For businesses, electricians also handle the installation of specialized equipment, such as commercial lighting, security systems, and data cabling.
2. Lighting Solutions
Lighting plays a significant role in the atmosphere and functionality of a space. Electricians in Penrith provide a variety of lighting solutions, from energy-efficient LED lights to ambient lighting designs that enhance the aesthetic of your home or office. They also install outdoor lighting for gardens, pathways, and security purposes.
3. Safety Inspections
Safety should always be a priority when it comes to electricity. Regular electrical inspections can identify potential hazards, such as faulty wiring, overloaded circuits, or outdated electrical systems. An electrician can conduct a comprehensive safety audit and provide recommendations to ensure your property meets current safety standards.
4. Switchboard Upgrades
Your switchboard is the heart of your electrical system, distributing electricity throughout your property. If your switchboard is outdated or unable to handle modern electrical loads, it may cause frequent circuit breaker trips or even pose a fire risk. Electricians in Penrith offer switchboard upgrades to improve efficiency and safety.
5. Emergency Electrical Services
Electrical emergencies, such as power outages, sparking outlets, or electrical fires, require immediate attention. Many electricians in Penrith offer 24/7 emergency services, ensuring that help is available when you need it most.
6. Home Automation and Smart Systems
As homes become smarter, the demand for electricians who specialize in home automation has grown. From installing smart lighting systems to integrating voice-activated assistants, Penrith electricians can help you upgrade your home to the latest technology, improving convenience and energy efficiency.
Qualities to Look for in a Penrith Electrician
Choosing the right electrician is essential for the safety and functionality of your electrical system. Here are some important qualities to look for when hiring an electrician in Penrith:
1. Licensed and Qualified
Always ensure that the electrician you hire is fully licensed and qualified to perform electrical work. In Australia, electricians must undergo rigorous training and apprenticeship programs to become licensed, so ask to see their credentials.
2. Experience
Experience matters when it comes to electrical work. An experienced electrician will be able to diagnose problems quickly, offer solutions, and carry out the work efficiently. Look for an electrician with a proven track record in the type of service you require, whether it's residential installations or commercial electrical maintenance.
3. Reputation
Word of mouth and online reviews are powerful tools when choosing a service provider. Look for an electrician with positive reviews and testimonials from past clients. A good reputation is a strong indicator of reliability and quality workmanship.
4. Transparent Pricing
Electrical work can vary in cost, so it’s essential to choose an electrician who provides transparent pricing. Avoid those who offer vague estimates or surprise fees after the work is completed. A reputable electrician should provide a clear, written quote before beginning any work.
5. Good Communication
An electrician who communicates clearly and promptly is a good sign of professionalism. They should be able to explain the work needed in layman's terms, answer your questions, and keep you informed throughout the project.
How to Find a Reliable Electrician in Penrith
Now that you know what to look for in an electrician, how do you go about finding one in Penrith? Here are a few tips:
Ask for recommendations: Friends, family, and neighbors are often a great source of recommendations for trusted electricians.
Check online directories: Websites like Yellow Pages, local trade directories, or Google Maps provide listings of electricians in Penrith, along with customer reviews.
Use social media: Facebook groups and community pages can be valuable resources for finding local electricians. Many electricians also have business pages where you can read reviews and see examples of their work.
Contact multiple electricians: Don't settle for the first electrician you find. Contact at least three electricians to compare their services, pricing, and availability. This will help you make an informed decision.
Verify their license and insurance: Before hiring, always verify that the electrician is licensed and carries appropriate insurance. This protects you from liability in case of accidents or damages during the job.
The Benefits of Hiring a Local Penrith Electrician
Hiring a local electrician in Penrith offers several advantages. First, a local electrician is likely to be familiar with the specific regulations and requirements in your area, ensuring that your project is compliant with local codes. Additionally, local electricians can often respond faster to emergencies or urgent repairs. Supporting local businesses also helps the community thrive, as your money goes back into the local economy.
Conclusion
Electricity is an essential service, and finding the right electrician in Penrith can make a world of difference in ensuring your electrical systems are safe, efficient, and up to code. Whether you're facing an electrical emergency, planning a renovation, or simply need routine maintenance, hiring a professional, licensed electrician is always the best choice.
By following the tips outlined in this blog, you can confidently choose a reliable electrician who will meet your needs and provide high-quality service. Remember to prioritize experience, reputation, communication, and transparency when making your decision, and you’ll have peace of mind knowing your electrical work is in good hands.

Tesla is suing Sweden as the carmaker hits back at an attempt by local unions to disrupt its business in an ongoing battle over workers’ rights.
In the lawsuit, filed Monday, Tesla says it is suing “the Swedish state through the Swedish Transport Agency” because local union members were refusing to deliver new license plates to the company, effectively blocking Tesla from selling new cars in the country. In a quick decision, the Norrköping district court said the company should be allowed to circumvent existing rules and collect its license plates itself. The Swedish Transport Agency has 14 days to respond to the decision.
Swedish unions describe their fight against Tesla as existential for the Swedish labor market. Sweden doesn’t have laws that dictate workers’ rights, such as minimum wage. Instead, around 90 percent of Swedish workers are covered by collective agreements, a type of contract that regulates the relationship between employers and their employees, including pay, pensions, and working hours. Tesla’s refusal to sign a collective agreement with its mechanics has enraged union bosses, who are worried the company could set a precedent.
“It’s the whole system that is at stake,” says Tommy Wreeth, chairman of the Swedish Transport Workers’ Union, whose members are refusing to unload Tesla cargo at Swedish ports. “That’s why all Swedish unions see this as a crucial fight.”
License plates stopped being delivered to Tesla when Seko, the Swedish union representing postal workers, joined a countrywide blockade against the company on November 20. Seko said its members would not deliver post, parcels, or pallets to Tesla until it signed a collective agreement with Swedish car mechanics, who have been on strike since October 27. Tesla filed a separate lawsuit against the Nordic postal service PostNord in an attempt to get the company to release its packages.
The lawsuits are part of a growing crisis in Sweden, with more unions joining action against Tesla. The revolt started with the union representing the mechanics, IF Metall, but other Swedish unions have since introduced “sympathy measures” in an attempt to force the company to sign. Swedish cleaners are refusing to clean Tesla showrooms, electricians won’t fix the company’s charging points, and dockworkers are refusing to unload Tesla cargo at Swedish ports.
“We note that Tesla has chosen to take the long route, starting legal proceedings,” says Veli-Pekka Säikkälä, national bargaining secretary at IF Metall. “There is a simple and quick way to solve this situation, and that is to sign a collective agreement. As soon as Tesla does that, the conflict ends.”
Tesla CEO Elon Musk commented publicly on the Swedish blockade for the first time last week, calling the situation “insane” in a comment on X. But the lawsuit is the first sign that Tesla’s business in Sweden—its fifth largest European market—has been affected by the blockade.
“[It tells us] they are desperate,” claims Jonas Pettersson, a spokesperson for Seko, adding he hopes the company will sign a collective agreement with IF Metall in due course. Tesla did not immediately respond to WIRED’s request for comment.
Sweden’s transport agency has not yet seen the lawsuit, according to spokesperson Mikael Andersson, but he confirmed it had been submitted. “Tesla believes that the Swedish Transport Agency does not meet the requirement to provide registration plates to newly registered vehicles in Sweden,” he says. “We at the Swedish Transport Agency do not share this view.” The agency is neutral in the conflict, Andersson adds.
The lawsuit was filed three days after workers at a Swedish factory that makes Tesla parts and sends them to the company’s gigafactory in Berlin joined the blockade. On Friday, around 50 unionized workers employed by a Swedish subsidiary of the Norwegian company Hydro stopped working on Tesla products at the company’s plant in Vetlanda, in southern Sweden.
“As of November 24, the production of certain products at the plant is affected by what is a legal union action in Sweden,” says Hydro spokesperson Halvor Molland. He declined to comment on whether the blockade had impacted shipments to Tesla’s factory in Berlin.

ev charger installation
With the increasing popularity and affordability of electric vehicles (EVs), the demand for EV charger installation has soared. As more and more individuals and businesses are realizing the environmental and financial benefits of going electric, it's crucial to have the necessary infrastructure in place to support this transition.
Installing an EV charger is not only a practical investment but also a step towards a more sustainable future. In this blog post, we will explore the importance of EV charger installation, discuss different types of chargers, address the installation process, and highlight the benefits associated with this eco-friendly choice.
Why is EV charger installation important?
As the world faces the pressing challenges of climate change and the depletion of natural resources, transitioning to green energy sources like electric vehicles becomes vital. Installing EV chargers not only encourages the use of electric vehicles but also facilitates their seamless integration into our daily lives.
By installing more EV chargers, we can eliminate range anxiety, a common concern among potential EV owners. Having accessible charging stations across cities and suburbs makes it easier for people to invest in electric vehicles and ultimately reduces our dependence on fossil fuels.
Types of EV chargers
There are three main types of EV chargers: Level 1, Level 2, and DC Fast Chargers. The type of charger you choose for your installation depends on your requirements and budget.
Level 1 chargers are the most basic and don't require any special installation. They plug into a standard 120V household outlet, but they provide the slowest charging rate, typically adding about 2-5 miles of range per hour. Level 2 chargers, on the other hand, require a 240V circuit and offer much faster charging rates, often adding around 10-25 miles of range per hour.
For those in a hurry, DC Fast Chargers (also known as Level 3 chargers) are the way to go. They are significantly more expensive and require professional installation, but they can charge an electric vehicle up to 80% in just 30 minutes.
Installation process
The installation process for EV chargers can vary depending on the charger type and location. For Level 1 chargers, no installation is required—simply plug the charger into a standard outlet. However, it's recommended to consult with an electrician to ensure the outlet and wiring can handle the charging load.
Level 2 chargers and DC Fast Chargers require professional installation by a certified electrician. The process involves determining the appropriate location for the charger, assessing the electrical capacity of the site, upgrading the electrical panel if necessary, running the appropriate wiring, and ensuring compliance with local building codes and regulations.
It's important to reach out to a licensed electrician experienced in EV charger installation early on to ensure a smooth and efficient process. They will not only guide you through the installation but also make sure your system is safe and up to code.
Benefits of EV charger installation
Installing an EV charger comes with an array of benefits for individuals, businesses, and the environment as a whole. Let's explore some of the advantages:
Environmental impact: Electric vehicles produce zero tailpipe emissions, reducing air pollution and combating climate change. By encouraging their adoption through accessible charging infrastructure, EV charger installation helps foster a greener and cleaner future.
Fuel cost savings: Electric vehicles are more energy-efficient and cost less to operate and maintain compared to traditional gasoline-powered vehicles. Installing an EV charger at home allows EV owners to take advantage of cheaper electricity rates, significantly reducing their fuel expenses.
Increased property value: Adding an EV charger to your property can boost its value and appeal, especially in regions where EV adoption is on the rise. Homes and businesses equipped with charging stations become more attractive to potential buyers and tenants, enhancing their marketability.
Public reputation and branding: By installing EV chargers, businesses can showcase their commitment to sustainability and attract environmentally conscious customers. This green initiative can improve brand reputation and help differentiate businesses from competitors.
Conclusion
The installation of EV chargers is a crucial step towards a more sustainable future. By encouraging the adoption of electric vehicles and providing the necessary infrastructure, we can reduce greenhouse gas emissions, decrease dependence on fossil fuels, and drive the transition towards cleaner and more efficient transportation.
Whether you're an individual interested in commuting sustainably or a business looking to offer charging options to employees or customers, investing in EV charger installation is a wise decision. Not only does it make practical and environmental sense, but it also opens up countless opportunities for fuel cost savings, increased property value, and improved public reputation.
Remember, consult with an experienced electrician, determine the type of charger that suits your needs, and take this vital step towards embracing green energy and a brighter, cleaner future.

I saw an ad for an app that literally says "Be your own therapist" like, that is the verbatim copy on the beautifully color-graded photo of a happy-looking blonde woman and umm. no. no. nonononononononono. No. NO!
I generally dislike "Just DIY! You'll get the 'same thing' for less $$$$" sentiment that is being pushed more and more. The goddamn point of specialized professionals is that they have the knowledge and training (and often the economics of scale) to do things effectively and efficiently. You're not going to achieve an equivalent result unless you, too, devote enough time to acquire the knowledge and training of a professional.
Obviously there are degrees to this.
A "barista" at Starbucks that makes a little above minimum wage (and at least in case of Starbucks Korea, not actually required to have any kind of barista training or certification) likely isn't going to make better coffee than you and most of the money you're paying goes to corporate profit, so if you're the type of person who considers coffee a mode of caffeine delivery rather than a delicacy, then yeah you're probably better off making your own coffee.
My sister recently decided that she doesn't like the wallpapers in her bedroom and decided to go the DIY route. But she didn't know that the DIY wallpapers she bought off the internet wouldn't work directly on her bedroom walls (something a professional would have considered immediately) and had to do some extra shit she didn't anticipate and she didn't know how to install wallpapers properly so it ended up costing about the same money as hiring a wallpaper professional plus a lot of labor (hers and our father's) and the walls look less polished than a professional's work but that's just wasted time and effort and subpar interior decoration, no real harm done.
But some things are straight up DANGEROUS to be done by an unqualified person. No one says "be your own electrician" because that could burn your house down. If some startup came up with a DIY flu shot kit or whatever it would not be approved because vaccination isn't just about administering the injection, it also requires medical training to evaluate whether it is safe for you to even get vaccinated and monitor for adverse reactions afterwards.
Even licensed therapists go to other licensed therapists because they know that not even a licensed therapist can't self-therapize as the objectivity required to assess and address psychological issues would be lost.
There are 2140892104 mental health self care uwu apps and I'm not categorically against those, but to suggest that a fucking app is a viable replacement for an actual therapist is unethical. But they are not subject to regulations for healthcare related marketing because guess what, they are not a healthcare related business.

Steps to Install Grounding Rods and Alligator Clip to Ensure Effective Grounding
Is it the first time you plan to carry a portable generator or you think about temporary electric fencing? If so, make sure you know how to use a grounding rod.
Grounding rods play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of electrical systems. You can use them for protecting against electrical faults and lightning strikes, dissipating static electricity, equipment grounding, and stabilizing electrical systems.
Generator grounding rods are available in different types. Such as copper rods, galvanized steel rods, and stainless steel rods. No matter which one you choose, you can establish an effective electrical ground only if use them properly.
In this article, let’s talk about the general steps to install grounding rods and alligator clip and ensure effective grounding in the area.
Step 1: Identify the installation location
Determine the appropriate location to install the grounding rod. Usually, it should be placed close to the electrical system that requires grounding.
The soil for grounding should have good moisture content as moist soil offers better conductivity.
You should avoid areas with shallow bedrock, large rocks, or other obstructions that restrict grounding rod insertion.
Step 2: Select a suitable grounding rod
As mentioned earlier, grounding rods are made of copper or steel. Copper rods are known for their excellent conductivity and resistance to corrosion. You can use this to serve your grounding purpose.
Copper grounding rods should have the required length based on local electrical codes and standards. Generally, a grounding rod is about 8 to 10 feet long.
Step 3: Find the installation tools
Besides grounding rods, a portable generator installation also requires other essential tools.
With ordinary grounding rods, you need a grounding clamp and a wire stripper to prepare the grounding wire. Not so with the Nasafes grounding rod, because here everything works with plug and play connectors. All you need is a hammer to drive the stick into the ground.
Step 4: Place the grounding rod
Before you place the rod, you should clear any debris or vegetation from the installation area.
Using suitable tools, you can drive the grounding rod into the ground vertically and ensure proper insertion.
The top end of the grounding rod should be accessible and protruding from the ground surface.
Step 5: Choose the alligator clip
Find an alligator clip based on several factors, such as size, material, and electrical specifications.
You should ensure that the jaws of the alligator clip are clean and free from any dirt hindering the electrical connection.
Step 6: Place and secure the alligator clip
The plug of the grounding cable is plugged directly into the grounding rod and the alligator clip is connected to the device to be grounded, such as a generator or electric fence.
A established and secure connection is thus guaranteed because the grounding cable is connected directly to the copper rod.
Step 7: Verify the grounding system
Once the grounding rod and alligator clip are in place, it’s essential to test the grounding system to determine its effectiveness.
Experts prefer using a grounding resistance tester or a multimeter to measure the resistance between the grounding system and the Earth. According to the result, you can take the necessary measures. For example, if the resistance is too high, you can improve the soil moisture or add additional grounding rods.
Conclusion
In order to maintain the integrity of electrical systems and safeguard assets, it's essential to understand the significance of grounding rods and how to use it for proper installation. Now, the installation requirements may vary depending on local electrical codes. In such cases, you can consult a licensed electrician or qualified professional to ensure proper grounding rod installation complying with the regulations.
