Wasn't my cup of tea. Confusing. Not sure if I'd had liked it much in 1984. I could see why #DavidLynch hates it. Very cheesy with the effects & overall film drags.

Sci Fi Month Review 9-V

Sorry this took so long......I had to collect my thoughts,cause for this review ,we are looking at V ,the classic miniseries

In this 1983 miniseries Visitors from another world come claiming to need humanities help ,but soon start to takeover targeting those they see as "Threats ",and resistance forms

Soooooo confession despite how famous this series is,and my dad being a huge fan of it ,I kind of went into this thinking it was gonna be a standard alien invasion story ....Yeah turns out this is about fascism,and not in an allegorical way ,this is straight up about fascists',and even talk about the parallels with the Nazis

The series was created by Kenneth Johnson who has many SF work under his belt ,his biggest hit probably being the TV show the Incredible Hulk ,and I see a lot of Hulk in V ,exploring all to human ideas and heartbreaks but doing so with a sci fi twist

So I actually dont know what to say other then this miniseries is great.Effects wise the ships and the real look of the aliens look pretty darn good .ACtors are all solid ,theres too many characters to go over .but favorites of mine are the performances of MArc Singer as the series lead ,Faye Grant as a reluctant resitance Leader ,Robert Englund in a small role as a benevolent Visitor ,Richard LAwson as one of the fighters ,Jane Badler as the series main antagonist ,and Leonardo Cimino as my favorite character ,an old holocaust survivor

I found series really well made ,very engaging ....And very harrowing,this is a cuationary tale

La Spezia, nuova palestra al servizio del palazzetto dello sport "G.Mariotti".  La Spezia 11 marzo 2024 - Questa mattina il Sindaco della Spezia Pierluigi Peracchini, l'Assessore agli Impianti sportivi Marco Frascatore, l'Assessore ai lavori pubblici Pietro Antonio Cimino hanno effettuato un sopralluogo presso il Palamariotti per l'avvio dei lavori della nuova palestra a servizio del palazzo dello sport. Erano presenti l'Amministratore delegato della ditta appaltatrice e la direzione lavori. I lavori sono stati affidati alla ditta TIPIESSE SPA che dovrà realizzare il progetto che prevede la realizzazione di una palestra dedicata in particolare alla ginnastica artistica che ha ottenuto i finanziamenti dal PNRR. "Una nuova palestra dedicata alla ginnastica artistica – dichiara il Sindaco della Spezia Pierluigi Peracchini - che amplierà ulteriormente l'offerta e la qualità dei nostri impianti sportivi. Una richiesta che arriva dalle società sportive che hanno centinaia di giovani impegnati in questa disciplina, molti dei quali anche a livello nazionale, e oggi devono andare ad allenarsi fuori provincia o addirittura fuori regione. Con questo intervento di grande innovazione tecnologica e risparmio energetico diamo una risposta fondamentale e un ambiente ottimale per la crescita di tanti giovani talenti e aspiranti atleti." Per la sua realizzazione sono previsti investimenti per un importo di € 5.349.886,38: sarà utilizzabile sia per l'allenamento sia per l'organizzazione di competizioni e sarà a servizio del palazzetto dello sport. La progettazione, sulla base delle indicazioni fornite dall'Amministrazione comunale, è stata elaborata da uno studio professionale costituito dall'arch. Flippo Franchetti Rosada (capogruppo – mandatario), ing. Leonardo Catarzi, arch. Luca Peghini, ing. Federica Landi. L'area oggetto di intervento è situata nelle immediate vicinanze del palazzetto G. Mariotti compresa tra via della Pianta e Via Federici. In questa porzione dunque nascerà una nuova struttura, ecocompatibile, all'avanguardia e moderna che diventerà, come detto, non solo un punto di riferimento per gli atleti locali, ma sarà in grado in grado di poter ospitare gare di livello locale e regionale, rispetterà le normative vigenti del Coni e tutti i requisiti sul risparmio energetico. Proprio per le specifiche peculiarità della ginnastica artistica l'impianto sarà infatti dotato di idonee "buche" necessarie per svolgere in sicurezza le esercitazioni. Sono previsti spazi interni così suddivisi: due spogliatoi per arbitri e una zona destinata agli spettatori, dotata di idonei servizi igienici e percorsi separati per l'ingresso. Inoltre saranno costruite tribune con una capienza di circa 198 spettatori. L'area parterre, tra la zona destinata all'attività sportiva e quella per ospitare gli spettatori saranno distinte. Le dimensioni della zona per gli atleti sono di 24 x 39 m., comprese quelle di rispetto perimetrali di larghezza pari a 1,50 m., per una superficie complessiva di 936 mq. L'utenza prevista è di 43 atleti (50 se si considerano anche gli arbitri). L'impianto sarà dotato di 4 spogliatoi per gli sportivi, tutti accessibili anche in modo indipendente dall'esterno tramite disimpegni, e altri due per i direttori di gara. Inoltre sono state distinte le aree di sosta a servizio dell'impianto destinate agli atleti da quelle per gli spettatori. Il progetto, oltre alla costruzione della nuova struttura, ha l'obiettivo di riorganizzare l'area adiacente a quella del Palasport, che attualmente risulta occupata da un riempimento di terreno e si inserisce nel contesto locale caratterizzato dalla presenza di altri impianti sportivi quali il Palasport "Mariotti" e dalla piscina di prossima realizzazione. Dune (1984)

Dune has a few scenes with an effect looking like very bright water ripples. One scene has a bright light flickering against a person’s face, and another shows a flickering screen that produces a severe but brief strobe effect.

There are a few flying scenes in this film, but the camera work is very smooth throughout.

Flashing Lights: 6/10. Motion Sickness: 1/10.
