This exchange is interesting because 1) Spock is calling McCoy what must be a grave insult among his people and 2) if Spock had been called on trying to insult McCoy he would’ve denied it, since insults are illogical; yet 3) Spock is undeniably taken aback when McCoy not only fails to take it as an insult but affirms it.

Don’t mind that I’m a day late but resharing this in honor of the late DeForest Kelley’s birthday 🩵

I heard someone say this old art piece looked like Spock and McCoy, and I had to make the vision real ✨ I tried to replicate the style of Coby Whitmore, the artist who made the original piece. He puts more detailed shading into the faces/skin/hair while giving fabrics and props more flat coloring. It was challenging to replicate that without the difference between the detailed faces and flat clothes looking super jarring, but I hope I succeeded :-)
