looking at everything i think im just gonna admit i prefer older leo specifically because i really like the way that fleshes out and interacts with his dynamic with raph, like from a wider narrative standpoint i think i just prefer to think about and explore that way more than i do with anything disaster twins related (as much as i do love them). i should really write something a-team centric at some point shouldnt i

MEETING THE MESSI FAMILY (JOE BURROW x MESSI! READER)

Since I am stuck with ideas of Malcolm finding out that Oscar can't die and being gaslighted post it, here's an AU where Oscar and Malcolm are on the same group when Malcolm is serving. It was a debate on whether I should post it or now but I am now saying screw it and posting it. Is it a potential fanfic idea? Yeah. Am I just leaving it for anyone to adopt, hell yeah.

(At some point, I am going to make it in such a way that I am creating scenarios where every single Candela character has seen Oscar die and it's aftermath, multiple scenarios cuz why not but for now, version 2)

Malcolm and Oscar are in the same division, Oscar being sent into service as a punishment/him just signing up because he is bored and at some point in the mission, dies and has to be left behind because one can't carry a body and run long distances.

Or maybe he joined as an undercover thingy for Candela and is there in Malcolm's last mission, where his entire group evaporated but Oscar, with his luck, escapes but Malcolm assumes that he's dead anyway.

Either way, he is discharged, comes back to the city, gets taken in by Madam Glask and given a job and who's there? Oscar fucking Grimm. In flesh. Alive.

And Oscar is like "Nope, I didn't serve in the army, maybe you saw my relative" and Malcolm initially thinks he's hallucinating but nope, Cordelia introduces Oscar as a part of her security and can definitely see him so he's definitely not hallucinating.

At this point I suppose he has come in contact with Candela `peeps so he does mention about Oscar to Edgar or someone he runs with in a circle but no one has any idea on what he's talking about cuz Oscar hasn't worked with any of them until one day, Oscar fucking Grimm is in a circle with Malcolm. And dies again.

Cosmo is either in the circle with Malcolm at that time and is calmly like "Everything's fine, he's not dead, just pretending" or straight up joins the bandwagon of saying that "no, this is not that Oscar but rather my other grandson Oscar" the next time they meet.

Neymar scanned the counter once more to make sure he had everything he needed. Flour, eggs, milk, cocoa powder, etc. Yes everything exactly. Putting on his apron, he began to measure out all the ingredients needed as quietly as possible, so as not to wake Leo up.

Fondly, he thought of the conversation him and Leo had had the night before about how homesick he felt and how much he missed his mothers cooking, especially her chocolate cake. So he’d woken up extra early with the brilliant idea of baking Leo a surprise cake. He was no master baker but he had called Leo’s mum and written down the recipe along with the instructions as intently as possible. He’d read them over a million times, how hard could it be? Even with his poor technique, there was no way he could possibly mess this up.

He preheated the oven and began to mix together all the dry ingredients and beat in the wet ones, cringing slightly at the noise the whisk made as it whipped loudly against the side of the bowl. Pausing momentarily to listen quietly for any sign Leo was awake, he sighed in relief and thanked the stars above Leo was a heavy sleeper. He greased the cake tin and poured in the smooth batter. It was thicker than he’d expected but he thought nothing of it. He placed the cake into the oven, careful not to burn his fingers on the burning metal. Content with his work, he sighed as he set the timer and started to clear away everything he’d used as quietly as possible.

He brought out the strawberries and chocolate he planned on decorating the cake with and prepared them. He thinly sliced each strawberry and broke the bar of chocolate into small bite sized pieces, eating some of the toppings as he waited for the cake to finish baking.

Finally, after 30 minutes, the oven timer beeped, signifying the cake was done baking. Neymar bounded happily over and pulled the oven door wide, pulling out the cake tin in the process. However, his happiness soon faded when he looked at the cake and saw it was dry and brittle rather than moist and soft. How could he possibly have gone wrong? He’d followed the recipe through and through. He flipped the tin over onto the counter and watched as the brick of a cake fell out of the pan. He picked it up, hissing lightly when it burnt his fingers but picked it up a few moments later when it had cooled a bit for closer inspection. There was no saving it. It was as solid as a rock. Nothing like the cake Leo had wistfully described to him a few hours earlier. And just his luck that Leo should choose that moment to come downstairs from his sleep. He quickly hid the ‘cake’ behind his back and smiled sheepishly as Leo entered the kitchen still slow and sleepy, wiping at his eyes.

“Good morning,” Leo said softly as he came up to Neymar.

“Good morning Leo,” he replied nervously.

However Leo soon frowned when the other man didn’t wrap his arms around him tightly like usual. He silently wondered if maybe he had done something wrong. Or worse, if something was wrong with the other man.

“Are you okay?”

“Yeah of course,” Ney forced out just a bit too fast.

Leo looked at him doubtfully and reluctantly, Neymar, with his head bowed down, brought out the hardened disk in front of him to show to Leo.

“I was going to surprise you. I know how much you missed home so I called your mum and got the recipe for the cake but I messed up,” Neymar muttered sadly as he flipped over the cake in his hands, “I don’t know what went wrong.”

Leo could feel his heart swell with warmth at the thought of Neymar trying to surprise him and cheer him up. Gently he grabbed the rough brick out of Neymar’s hands and set it back on the counter top. He leaned into Neymar body, wrapping his arm around his waist and the other coming to rest gently in his hair, tugging lightly before wrapping around his waist too.

“I can try again? I promise I can bake you a proper cake,” Neymar asked slightly pleading as he felt bad for letting Leo down.

Leo leaned in and captured his lips in a soft kiss. Neymar was warm and sweet, tasting of strawberries and chocolate and Leo hummed quietly into his mouth at the taste. He pulled away, pecking him once more on the lips. Then nestled his face in his shoulder, placing a small kiss on his neck and wrapping his arms tightly around Neymar.

“You’re too sweet to me cariño,” Leo whispered into his neck.

“But I messed it up,” Neymar said confusedly in that same dejected tone.

However, Leo simply pulled away slightly, giving him a soft gaze and a small smile before leaning in and placing another kiss to his lips. This one deeper and longer. He drank in every inch of Neymar, getting lost in him for a moment before pulling away and resting his forehead on his cheek.

“But you still tried. I don’t need a cake when I have something much sweeter already.”

Neymar felt himself flush as Leo kissed the words into his jawline. He wrapped his arms around Leo’s waist tightly as the other man continued to kiss his neck lightly and gently. Neymar’s breath hitched softly as Leo kissed the sweet spot behind his ear with a featherlight brush of his lips

“We can do it together?” Neymar offered as he began to feel overwhelmed from Leo’s affection.

“I’d love that Ney.”

Leo smiled at Neymar once more before cuddling close into him again. They could bake the cake whenever. For now he just wanted to enjoy the warmth of his Ney.
