#Laxus is a good older brother

I am so tempted to write a story that's Lucy, Laxus, and Thunder Legion centric, but without making it a ship based book. I just wanna write badass Lucy with Badass Laxus and Thunder Legion.

The twist, though, is based on a story I found a while ago were Zoë Nightshade from PJO when turned into a Constellation became a Celestial Spirit and that has just taken over my brain. I love the idea.

So, I basically wanna write a story where Laxus and co get a Celestial Key as a reward along with jewel. They give it to Lucy who finally decides she gonna go on a quest to find Aquarius.

Obviously gonna add in some other stuff, like Bickslow seeing Lucy's soul in pain and sorrow so he feels bad and wants to help her find Aquarius, dragging Freed, Ever, and Laxus with him. I'm sorry, I just love Bickslow and his babies.

Lucy bonding with the Legion is also on the brain. Just yeah.

I can see this. I haven’t read much of 100 year quest. But what I have read has a couple Laxus and Lucy moments that make me squeal. He’s like a proud older brother towards her. It’s so sweet. And I feel like the legion has a fairly close bond with Lucy, as does the rest of the guild. I think Ever sees Lucy as a good friend, and Freed and Bicks probably still feel guilty about what happened during the battle of Fairy tail. I can see all of them learning Lucy’s goal and subtlety doing things to help. Freed doing lots of research on celestial spirits, Ever using stone eyes to intimidate any potential suspects. Bicks sending his babies around looking for clues. And Laxus going on a-class quests that seem to have any kind of hint at being celestial spirit related. Any info they do happen to find they like very discreetly give her. Like leaving messages with Mira or sending letters to her house. But everyone knows it’s the legion. They just won’t call them out because Lucy is so damn happy. Lucy prob knows it’s them too, but she knows Laxus is pretty awkward about this kind of stuff so she just smiles when she reads a letter containing info, that just so happens to have the same location as the town Laxus just went to on a job. She does little things to say thank you without acknowledging that she’s on to him.

I’ve been thinking about the thunder legion, more specifically how they came to Fairy Tail. Because out of all the characters we see stuff about, we don’t see anything about them or their initial connection to Laxus.

So I got to brewing

Evergreen was the first to meet Laxus, she was maybe 12 when Laxus passed through with one of the adults in Fairy Tail. They were on their way to the train station to get back to the guild and stopped for food. She overhears Laxus say they’re headed to fairy tail and she gets so excited by the fact theirs a fairy guild she interrupts and asks Laxus numerous questions, saying she’s gonna join. So when she shows up 2 years later, dropped off by her older brother, Laxus isn’t too surprised. He is a bit caught off guard though when she only seems to hang around him though - he’s the only person she knows and joining a guild isn’t like what she’d thought.

It was just her and her brother, and he thought Fairy Tail would be a good place for her to start making friends and earn money she wouldn't get back home.

Between meeting Evergreen and Evergreen joining is when Bickslow meets Laxus and joins Fairy Tail.

Laxus had finished up a solo mission, and needed a place to stay afterwards as it was getting to night. And he was hungry. He passed through a really run-down town, grumbling about how he wasn't gonna find much out here until an old man calls him over. it's clear Laxus isn't around here, and after confirming that Laxus is a wizard asks him to protect the house for a few days in exchange for food and shelter.

Laxus agrees and stays out on guard the first night, watching as some kids his age make their way through town going to houses and taking food, led by a lanky boy with a trail of 5 dolls following him. One of the kids tries to approach the house Laxus is guarding but is quickly scared off. The next night, similar happens, but this time the lanky kid, Bickslow who is clearly the ringleader of this group, approaches him.

"You're messing with the wrong place. I suggest you leave before things get messy." Bickslow says, and Laxus refuses. So, Bicks challenges Laxus to a fight. And to no surprise Laxus wins, and before he helps Bicks up he asks what's even happening around here.

Bickslow tells him about how the city was plagued by attacks from a dark guild that's now been disbanded. The town didn't have the money or the resources to rebuild, Bickslows friends were caught in the crossfire of the dark guild's anarchy - these friends' souls are the ones in the 5 toys, later to be his totems. Laxus knows he can't help, but he tells Bickslow that money's needed he can join Laxus on higher-earning quests. Help keep other towns from ending up like this. This convinces Bicks, and the future of the town gets better because Makarov talks with his connections and the town gets rebuilt.

Finally, Freed. It's maybe a year after Evergreen joined. Freed has been travelling around Fiore trying to find someone who could take away his "curse" (the forbidden magic). He often goes to the cathedrals and such, but most either direct him on to the next or to wizarding guilds - which Freed doesn't want to go near fearing rejection. He comes to Magnolia, and after Kardia Cathedral also say there's nothing they can do, he's sat on the steps knees pulled up to his chest.

"You crying?" Evergreen approaches him, having nothing better to do while she waits for Bickslow and Laxus to be done with whatever they are doing.

"No." Freed doesn't look at her, which Ever finds rude and gives a huff.

"Well then stop looking like you are."

"My sadness is none of your business."

"So you are sad?"

the conversation carries on like this back and forth, Freed utterly confused how this girl keeps asking questions and invading his business. Eventually, Laxus and Bickslow come over to ask Evergreen who she's talking to.

"Oh, I dunno. I didn't ask his name."

"Freed. My name is Freed Justine."

"It's got to be a bit cold sat on those steps," Bickslow says

"Does it matter? I've got nowhere further to go on my search."

"Then you can get out of the cold, don't go being stupid." Laxus holds out his hand to help Freed up, and he takes it. They take him along to the guild so they're out of the cold and have some food. They ask why he's in Magnolia, and Freed reluctantly tells them about his fruitless search to have his magic taken away.

"Well, you've come to the right place," Laxus says, and Freed has a look of hope.

"Really? You mean there's someone here who can take this curse away?"

"Nope. but there are people a bit like you here." Laxus gestures to Bickslow and Evergreen. "I seem to keep collecting randos with weird eyes, what's another one."

"Hey!" Evergreen huffs and gives Laxus a shake "But he's right. You'd fit right in, Freed."

And thus, the Thunder Legion was formed.

Evergreen steals all of their clothes. She'll walk around wearing one of their jackets complaining about how ugly it is, but when they tell her to take it off she refuses

They all cuddle. Laxus pretends he's not into it, but he's always the first to 'accidentally' fall asleep on the couch

Freed gets the "are we there yet" treatment. He should invest in headphones on long train rides

He would, but if he stops paying attention for too long someone will run away. They must be supervised at all times

Evergreen calls them her brothers. If they are on a job and someone asks if she's dating one of them, she gags and shrieks "ew that's my brother"

Laxus uses his electricity to frizz up Evergreen and Freed's hair. He is on thin fucking ice

Bickslow (who is a year older than Freed and Ever) pulls the "When I was your age" card constantly. It drives them absolutely nuts

One time to prank Freed, they all moved everything in his room 2 inches to the left. Freed almost had a nervous breakdown

♡ when you were just an orphaned brat, you apprenticed at a forge in a rundown village. the old geezer who took you in, makarov dreyar, was a kind old man, but the real problem for you was his grandson: laxus. he took every opportunity to tease and torment you throughout your childhood. the only time the two of you could get along was at the forge. hammering away at raw metal, cooling hot swords, or sharpening new blades, that was the only time your arguing was replaced by the racket of a swordsmith's shop.

♡ you spent your childhood and adolescence learning the secrets of the trade and the dreyar family's special techniques. you grew into a fine young swordsmith, but you knew that this shop wasn't yours to keep. the moment you turned of age, you packed your bags and bid a tearful goodbye to the people you considered family: the man you called grandfather and (though neither of you would ever admit it) the idiot you thought of as your older brother.

♡ you travel for a while, doing odd jobs likened to a blacksmith's profession to make some coin. it's when you reach the bustling trade town of magnolia that you feel you've found your place. a ramshackle stand set up in a corner of the bustling magnolia market, a hot fire in your forge, and a roaring spirit are what it takes to set you on your path.

♡ you're a damn good swordsmith, and soon all of magnolia knows it. it's not long before your name is whispered throughout the entire kingdom. you receive commissions from all sorts of types. you've made beautiful bangles that twist into whips for a drunkard fortune teller; you've made a necklace that disguises spirit keys as charms for a hooded blonde woman; you've made twin daggers that can conceal themselves as earrings for the princess herself! your work is always well-made, created with the highest quality of materials, and it doesn't come at a low price.

♡ you think it's a day like any other. your biceps strain as you carry a new anvil into the back of the shop. your orders won't make themselves, so you get to work right away. between casting iron for gauntlets and hammering down on a new blade, you're quickly covered by a layer of soot. your skin shines with sweat, and you're about to yell at whoever dares to disrupt your work, but your words die in your throat. standing before you is a knight, covered from head to toe in armor. that's not an unusual sight in a place as well-connected as magnolia, but what catches your eye is the vibrant color of the knight's armor.

♡ "you're the scarlet knight." you breathe out, shoving aside scrap metal as you set down your hammer. "I am in need of a new sword." the knight speaks. you can't tell if they're a man or a woman or neither by their muffled voice, but you can tell that they're powerful. "what kind?" "any." you huff at their short response. it's an ongoing argument between swordsmiths everywhere: does the sword choose the swordsman, or the swordsman choose the sword? you think it's the latter. "will you be able to fight with any sword I make?" you raise an eyebrow. "if it's good enough." the knight answers. you can feel your blood boil, and you can almost imagine the smirk on their face. "you wanna bet, knight?"

♡ you don't sleep for the next week. you barely eat or drink, too focused on creating the best sword you've ever made. it's slightly longer than you'd usually make, but the scarlet knight was taller than the average man. the blade itself is a shining silver, but you know it won't stay that way for long. hopefully. the hilt is engraved with swirling dragons, their eyes inlaid with red gemstones. the hilt also has red and black stones that create a beautiful floral pattern in filigree. you don't think you'll ever make a sword as beautiful as this one.

♡ the scarlet knight seems to know exactly when you finish the sword. the embers are burning low in your forge, calming down as the evening draws in, and the knight is leaning against your doorframe again. you lift the sword out of a basin of water, the metal shining in the moonlight. "you don't waste a second, do you? here." you grin as the knight takes the sword, the blade turning a deep red. "what do you think?" your voice is nothing short of cheeky. the scarlet knight says nothing, staring at you through their visor. "...good."

♡ you don't see the knight for a long time after that, though you don't mind, with the amount of coin they gave you for the sword. you almost forget about them, until they return with a different sword, asking for a repair. "you have multiple swords?" you raise an eyebrow as you enter the back of your shop. "sit, this won't take long." you manage to weasel a few stories from the scarlet knight as you work, and you find that they're quite an interesting figure. you offer a few stories of your own in exchange, and you can't say you're not pleased when you hear them chuckle. the scarlet knight returns quite often after that, always with some weapon or other that needs adjustments. you learn more and more about them, relishing in each second you hear their alluring voice. the knight never takes off their helmet, but you don't ask about it. everyone has their secrets to keep.

♡ you fall into a steady rhythm of visits and late night talks. time between them varies, as the knight's travels take them far and wide, but your door is always open to them. on a rainy night, you perch at your table with a steaming mug of cider. sketches are strewn across the table, each offering a prospective new project for you to undertake. your musings are interrupted by a clatter at the door. like so many times before, you look up to see the scarlet knight, except... except they're falling to the floor, and you just barely manage to block their descent with your body. you wince as you hit the cold stone, but you quickly forget your discomfort when your palm comes back bright red. "blood?!" you cry out. "I didn't... know where else to... go..." the knight manages to get out.

♡ you did not sign up for this. you did not sign up for undressing a somewhat-friend-somewhat-stranger in your workshop. you did not sign up for pulling up their tunic and revealing planes of well-toned muscles. you did not sign up for stitching together their skin and wiping away the excess blood. you certainly did not sign up to remove their helmet, thinking it would put unnecessary strain on their body, only to find yourself face to face with the most beautiful woman you'd ever seen.

I'm thinking about it a lot so here are some personal canon beliefs for various guild characters as kids and connections they had, featuring my renditions of the guild members.

In canon Gray and Cana are supposed to be close, so I imagine they actually were housed together when each of them first joined the guild. Cana would've been a few years older than gray and she appeared first being taken in by Vijeeter, who in my version would've been about 22 at the time. His calmer nature made it easy for him to handle the more moody kids who often got on the last nerve of other guild members. She left to live on her own when she turned 18. Gray on the other hand still stays in Vijeeters place as he only just hit 18 and hasn't moved yet. But wanting to exist without an adult constantly watching him leads to him crashing at Lucy's place way too often.

Natsu actually stayed with Macao and only recently got his own place. It's part of the reason Romeo ends up with such an attachment to him because by all technicality, Natsu is his older brother. It does however mean that Natsu knew Macao's ex-wife and considers her a mother figure in a way. Natsu being the absolute terror of a child he was set Macao up to handle one as bad as him in the future, but Romeo is a lot less stressful of a kid.

Wendy stays with Erza when she joins the guild and erza sets her and Carla up with areas to store/organize the items they like. For wendy that's her hair ties/accessories, for Carla it's her dresses. Erza is one of the only people in the guild Wendy has a fear/respect for leading to her absolutely following Erza's house rules to a T. The structure of Erza's home allows Carla to feel more relaxed than ever before.

Team shadowgear were taken in by one of the women from the team that saved them from their destroyed hometown and they've been living in one of the floors above the diner she runs ever since. They get an entire apartment to themselves and don't feel the need to move out since they've never been forced to so they don't currently have plans to leave.

Erza stayed with Makarov when she first got to the guild. Her history with the tower and the Magic council's habit of being nosy meant that the best way he could ensure she'd always have someone fighting for her was to keep her within arms reach. He didn't force her to stay when she wanted to move out on her own. He does consider the entire guild to be his children, but erza specifically he views as his own grand daughter. This also means Erza and Laxus have interacted a lot and developed almost a sibling bond from the time of both of them living with Makarov. His betrayal of the guild was something she took hard.

The strauss siblings were raised by an uncle following the deaths of their parents, he lived close by the guild and the kids got drawn to the rowdiness of the guild hall. Their uncle isn't a mage himself and in fact finds guilds for too dangerous for his own liking. He tried to dissuade them when they were younger but ultimately that attempt goes nowhere. Once Mirajane got old enough to live on her own/take jobs she did just that to avoid adult supervision and barred her younger siblings from crashing at her place. That changes when Lisanna dies.

Laki's mom worked for the guild before her and she's a legacy mage. She's one of the few kids to join the guild that came from a family without a major loss. Her powers mean that she spends a good portion of her time repairing destruction from bar brawls. Her mom occasionally swings by to lay into makarov and the other older guild members for working her daughter so hard when she has school before the time skip.

lol so i just made a post (wrote in the reblogs of the post) that if they're of age and biologically unrelated, it's shippable BUT i still have preferred family-coded relationships so let's get into it (under the cut cuz it got longer than I thought it would)

Natsu Gray and Erza are to me kinda a gray zone (haha no pun intended). They can be THE siblings ever, but also I kinda like gratsu as a ship. Erza has always felt like a big sister to them both, so I personally don't get the appeal of shipping her with either of them, but those who do - good for you! they got to know each other late enough in their lives for it to not feel so incesty. Erza being an older sister is just how i interpret her affection to them.

Agreed on Laxus being Natsu's and Erza's big brother. In general I feel like Laxus took on the big brother role very early, being basically the only one with biological family in the guild in his age - I think he was the type of kid who wanted to protect those who had been through bad things. So even when Erza grew strong and distant and when Natsu started looking at him as a rival, he carried on with his big brother affection. I could make an entire post about this, but just gonna add that his emo phase was SO on brand for the big bro image.

HEAVY on Wendy and the dragon slayers. It just totally goes without saying. And I think that since Wendy's younger than most of the people in the guild, apart from Asuka and Romeo, it makes sense for them to go found family on her and just treat her like a sister. It simplifies the age gap in their friendship - i'm saying this from experience btw, it really is easier to have a strong friendly bond with a younger person if you see them as your sibling, bc it makes it easier to understand why they might not understand the depth of things. Like, with friends around your age you kinda value their maturnity and can use them as intellegent ballplanks - they challenge you. A younger person won't have as much experience or knowledge on most things, so when you're friends with a kid (or preteen) you take on the role of teaching them things. And the way a sibling teaches things is just so different than how a parent would, because there's still a sense of equality in it. "I'm older and wiser but I don't have complete authority over you." (i'm a younger sister with a neighbour who sees me as her bigger sister, so i've thought a lot about this lol)

Gray and Lyon - brothers. Ultear however? She's kinda like an estranged step sister at best. There is a special bond between her and the two, but considering that they got to know each other at a grown age, it makes their relationship a novelty of sorts, especially considering how much all of them idolise Ur.

Ultear is ABSOLUTELY Meredy's mom. step mom or the mom who stepped up!!!

And yeah oracion seis AND crime sorcerie are extreme cases of family. (jellal is a random uncle but he's family alright!)

Ahhhh Fairy Tail has many fun characters! I've been meaning to get back into the 100 Years Quest since I recently heard they were adapting it into an anime (not that me reading it was contingent on that, I just have been quite busy).

But we do enjoy the idea of Laxus as an older regressor! Not enough love out there for our big kids and tween regressors tbh, and I can see him being rather insistent (especially with Makarov) that he is a big kid. Gets soooo mad to be lumped in with the babies earlier on, but would definitely take on more of that big brother affinity for them as the series progresses.

And you bring up a good point with him struggling to be vulnerable as well. That's definitely a part of his pre-existing character arc that blends well with regression. It would take a lot for him to get there but he's got a lot of support!

Although now that I'm thinking about regressor!Laxus this really contextualizes that whole arc where he had the guild fight each other as something more akin to a schoolyard brawl haha. 🌙

First half of chapter 12: Laxus interferes. It goes almost 1:1. The anime looks cooler in my opinion, but still, same events and lines.

Chapter 13: there's one panel, where Jellal says he's staying and Laxus agrees that a fight between them right then and there isn't affordable (due to the destruction it would bring, I'd presume), it's exactly how it happens in the anime too. Be kind to yourself, skip it.

Chapter 14: Laxus waves it out like it's no big deal, the Reijinshuu scold him for scaring Touka. Touka and Juvia almost fight, Laxus stops them in their tracks, then lectures/scolds/warns her. Props to the artist because Laxus looks like a soft older brother but also a firm guild master. Surprisingly, it happens exactly the same. The pacing is more hurried, but alas. 1:1.

Do you think Miraxus will have children, if so what do you think they will be like?

Hi ! I have pretty expensive headcanons about them but they're not that different from the "general" headcanon and I'm a very poor drawer so I never found an interest in writing or drawing about them.

They're three very blond heads (Mira wanted five but Laxus only one in theory so, ironically, they came to a funny compromise without even trying).

The first one is Rei (pretty sure I took that name from a french fic that I read a LONG time ago) which in japanese can be written as 光, which means "light" (I think, I actually only found one source that says it's one of the possible readings, if it's not then just ignore the whole part about her name). Very unoriginally, she is a blond, looks a lot like her mother with very similar eyes but a very strong jaw, defined eyebrow from her father. I like to make her a lightning demon slayer, she's very strong and about the same age as jerza's kid (pretty sure we got a drawing of him not so long ago) and they get along very well (maybe a little too well according to their parents as they get older).

The second one is a boy which is also a blond and three years younger than his sister (Mira had to let Laxus a little time before getting him to want a second one). I won't tell his name because it's a very open take from fictions but I can't find a name for him that I like. He is very strongheaded and looks a lot like his father except for the eyes and kind of mean to others except for his little brother that he protects with his life, and his cousin (elfever's kid) that tags along. I don't have any defined headcanon about his magic though.

The last one (finally, this answer is way longer than I thought it would be), I won't say his name either for the exact same reason as the other one (if anyone has suggestions, I'm open). He is a boy, as stated before, and only one year younger than the second one (wasn't exactly planned but welcomed with lots of love). He is the most fragile and shy, often sick since his birth (Laxus blamed himself a lot for that) but very devoted to helping his mother, from which he took a lot of features, and siblings. He has the lightest hair of all without it being completely white and is also the only one with his father's green/dark eyes (and he's pretty proud of it). He is not very good at magic (and it's okay).

Laxus Dreyar x Dragon Slayer!Reader

Y/N was one of the first generation dragon slayers, the Earth Dragon Slayer to be exact. He was raised by Tatsuya, the earth dragon. When Y/N was 7, he awoke to an empty cave. Tatsuya was nowhere to be found. Y/N thought that maybe Tatsuya had went out for food and waited for him. He waited days, and finally, after 2 weeks had gone by, Y/N decided to go find him himself.

Y/N wandered for days with no sign of his dragon. He was starting to get worried. Eventually, he stumbled upon the town of Magnolia. He walked over to a woman near a food cart. 

"E-Excuse me?" Y/N said as he tugged on her dress. 

"Why hello, are you lost?" she asked as she knelt down. 

"I'm looking for my dragon!" Y/N said. She gave the boy a confused look. 

"A dragon you say?" a man said from behind him. Y/N turned around and saw a very short, old man. 

"Why don't you come with me and we can talk about your dragon." the man said and motioned for him to follow. Y/N ran to catch up with him.

"You can call me Gramps. What's your name?" Gramps asked. 

"Y/N. Who are you?" Y/N questioned. 

"I'm the guild master of Fairy Tail." Gramps said. Fairy Tail? Y/N had heard Tatsuya mention it before. 

"You said you were looking for a dragon, correct?" Gramps asked the boy. 

"Yeah! His name is Tatsuya! Do you know him?" Y/N asked excitedly.

 "No, I do not, unfortunately. But there is someone I'd like you to meet. He's about your age and he is also looking for his dragon." Y/N perked up. Does this boy practice magic, too? Y/N wondered.

Gramps led Y/N to the guild hall. From the outside, you could hear the loud voices and the laughter. 

"This is the Fairy Tail guild hall. It's where all the members come and socialize." Gramps pushed open the door and allowed Y/N to walk in. Y/N looked around and stared in awe of the huge building. There were so many people in here. 

"Who's the little guy?" a dark-blue haired man asked. 

"Macao, this is Y/N." Gramps said. Y/N waved at the man.

 "Well it's nice to meet you, Y/N. Welcome to Fairy Tail!" Macao said.

Gramps walked Y/N over to a pair of kids. 

"Everyone, this is Y/N. He is looking for his dragon." A pink-haired boy looked up. 

"Dragon? Like a real dragon?" he asked. Y/N nodded.

 "Me too! His name is Igneel! What's your's?" Y/N stood up straight. 

"His name is Tatsuya!" Y/N said.

 "Cool! My name is Natsu. I'm a dragon slayer, fire to be exact." Natsu said. 

"I'm a dragon slayer, too! Earth Dragon Slayer." Y/N said.

The doors to the guild hall swung open. In walked a boy, a few years older than Y/N. He had blond hair that stood up. He had headphones on and a mean look on his face.

 "He looks mean." Y/N whispered to Natsu. Gramps walked over to the boy and began speaking with him. 

"That's Laxus. He's Gramps' grandson." Natsu said. 

"He's nothing to be afraid of." A red-headed girl said, very confidently. "My name is Erza Scarlet." she stuck her hand out. Y/N shook it. 

"It's nice to meet you, Erza." he said with a smile.

Laxus and Gramps began walking towards the group of kids. 

"Y/N, I'd like you to meet my grandson, Laxus." Gramps said. Laxus was taller than Y/N and seemed to tower over him. 

"It's nice to meet you." Y/N said, nervous to hear what the other sounded like. Laxus didn't say anything, just nodded. 

“Laxus is going to help you try and find your dragon." Gramps explained. Y/N's eyes lit up.

"Really!?" he exclaimed.

"Yeah, but I'm tired. We can go tomorrow." Laxus said. 

"For now, you can stay in the guild's housing with the other children." Gramps said.

Laxus left the guild and Y/N turned to the face Natsu and Erza. 

"Come on, we'll show you where you'll be staying!" Natsu said and grabbed Y/N's hand, pulling him along. 

"Natsu, be careful!" Erza yelled after him.

Natsu and Erza led Y/N to a building.

 "There's rooms for girls and there's rooms for boys." Natsu explained as they walked through the building. As they walked, a blue-haired boy walked out of one of the rooms. 

"Hey, Gray! This is Y/N! He's a dragon slayer like me!" The boy turned to face the trio. 

"Nice to meet you. Are you staying here with us?" Gray asked. 

"Just for tonight. Laxus is helping him find his dragon tomorrow." Erza explained. Gray raised his eyebrow.

 "Laxus? Helping someone? That's IF he shows up." Gray said. Erza slammed her fist on his head. 

"Don't be rude!" she said sternly.

Natsu pulled Y/N into the room Gray had exited. Inside were two sets of bunk beds. Both of the bottom bunks looked like they had already been slept in. 

"You can share a bunk with me." Natsu said. 

"Cool!" Y/N said.

Natsu, Erza, Gray, Y/N, and Lisanna, who had came looking for Natsu, spent the afternoon talking, getting to know each other. 

"It's getting late, we should all go to bed. Especially you, Y/N, you have a big day tomorrow." said Erza. 

"Yeah!" Natsu said. Erza and Lisanna both left and the three boys all got into their bunks. They said their good nights and the room felt silent.

The next morning, Natsu woke Y/N bright and early. The sun was just rising when Y/N felt Natsu shake him awake. 

"Come on! Wake up! You should eat breakfast before you and Laxus leave." Natsu said. Y/N climbed off the bunk bed and Natsu led him back to the guild hall.

At the guild hall, Natsu and Y/N led themselves to the bar and asked for some breakfast. A girl, who was later to be known as Mirajane, gave them some food. As the two were eating, Laxus walked into the guild. He approached the two. 

"Finish up. We got a long walk." he said. Y/N nodded and quickly cleaned his plate.

 "Hey, Y/N, if you find Tatsuya, will you ask him about Igneel?" Natsu asked as he followed Laxus and Y/N out of the guild hall.

 "Of course!" Y/N said.

 "Thanks!" Natsu said with a big smile.

Laxus led Y/N out of the city and into the woods.

 "If we don't find this dragon of yours today, what are you gonna do?" Laxus asked as they entered a forest.

 "I don't know. I don't know anything other than what Tatsuya taught me." Y/N said, keeping an eye out for his dragon.

"Maybe you should join Fairy Tail." Laxus suggested. "Keep those other brats busy."

Y/N thought for a moment. Joining a guild wouldn't be bad. It would help him grow stronger and he would be taken care of until he got older.

Laxus and Y/N walked for hours with no sign of any dragon. The sun was starting to set. 

"Listen, kid, I don't think there's any dragon out here." Laxus said as he stopped walking. He looked down and saw tears prickling the boy's eyes. 

"Don't cry. He's out there somewhere, but maybe you need to stay with people until you find him." Laxus said as he knelt down. Y/N wiped away his tears.

"Do y-you think I'll ever f-find him?" Y/N asked, voice wavering. 

"I don't know, but I do know that you'll be safe with all of us at Fairy Tail." The two sat in silence for a few moments.

"Let's head back. It'll be dark soon." Laxus said. Y/N nodded and followed Laxus back the way they came. Y/N's feet were aching from all the walking he had done the past few days and he began to slow down. Laxus noticed that the boy was no longer next to him. He stopped and turned around. Y/N has begun limping a little bit from the ache in his feet. 

"Feet hurt? The old man said you'd been walking for a long time." Y/N nodded. Laxus walked to the boy and knelt down. 

"Get on my back, I'll carry you the rest of the way." he said. Y/N jumped onto Laxus's back and felt relieved.

By the time they had reached the guild hall, it was well past sundown. The streets were empty and so was the guild hall for the most part. Gramps was sitting at the bar. He turned around when he heard the door open.

"Laxus, Y/N, welcome back. I assume you didn't have much luck today?" he said. 

"No, we didn't find any dragon." Laxus said. Gramps noticed the sad look in Y/N's eyes. 

"Don't worry, young one. We will take good care of you, just until you find who you're looking for." Y/N smiled at the old man.

Y/N let out a yawn. 

"I'll take you back to the rooms." Laxus said and carried the boy out of the guild hall. 

"Thank you for helping me today." Y/N mumbled tiredly.

 "Yeah, whatever." Laxus said. 

"You seem grumpy." Y/N pointed out. Laxus just scoffed. 

"No, I don't."  he said. 

"Yeah you do. And you're kinda mean looking." Y/N said. 

"No, I'm not, you little punk." Laxus said. Y/N giggled a little bit.

Y/N doesn't remember much before he dozed off, he was still on Laxus's back, but when he woke up he was in bed. He sat up and looked around the room. Gray wasn't in his bed and when he looked over the edge of his bed, he saw that Natsu wasn't either. Y/N climbed out of bed and headed to the guild hall.

Y/N saw Laxus sitting alone at the bar. He didn't see the other kids, and he didn't really know anyone else there, so he made his way to the bar. 

"Hey, Laxus." he said. Laxus didn't say anything, just nodded in his direction.

"So, Y/N, have you decided whether or not you're joining Fairy Tail? We could always use more members." Mirajane asked. 

"Hm. I don't see why not!" Y/N said. 

"In that case, you'll need the official Fairy Tail mark! Where would you like it?" Mirajane asked. "Laxus, where's your's?" Y/N asked. "On my left side." Laxus said. 

"Then that's where I'll get mine!" Y/N exclaimed and pulled his shirt off. Mirajane carefully placed the mark on his left side.

Y/N looked down at the orange mark. 

"Wow! That's so cool!" Y/N said excitedly. 

"What's so cool?" Gramps's voice rang out. 

"I got my Fairy Tail mark!" Y/N said and turned to show it to him. 

"That is cool!" Gramps agreed with a smile. Y/N didn't see it, but Laxus smiled at the boy as he celebrated.

"Aw, Laxus has a new friend!" Mirajane said. Laxus rolled his eyes. 

"Admit it, he's one of the few kids you can stand." she teased. 

"Yeah, whatever. He's not annoying like the others." Laxus explained. 

"Isn't it cool, Laxus? We're kinda like brothers now that we having matching marks!" Laxus smiled.

 "Brothers, huh? I'm down with that." Laxus said and ruffled Y/N's hair. Gramps smiled at the two.

From that day on, Laxus and Y/N were inseparable. They truly were like brothers. When Laxus would leave, Y/N would get into trouble with Natsu and Gray. When Laxus would come back, he would get scolded every time. Laxus finally had someone to look after and began being a lot more careful when he was out on jobs. He didn't want the kid to have to lose someone else. He would never admit it to anyone, but he loved Y/N and would always be there for him.

Hyper Specific Tropes I Love + some headcanons: Fairy Tail Edition

•so as I think we all know there are some tropes that tend to pop up more or in specific ways with different fandoms. Or certain trope-y headcanons that float around. So this series will for these types of things that I love within specific fandoms. Starting with Fairy Tail!•

Note: this will resolve around my main ships but I’m a multishipper so yeah. 

Natsu being only slightly confused oblivious. Like I don’t like the “super innocent” but I think he’d be at least some what stupid in regards to emotions as they pertain to romance specifically.

Gray and Natsu being best bros. Like a very brother like relationship with exactly as much teaching as the show. All good natured. But Gray, being more observant, 100% teasing Natsu about his crush on Lucy. Like RELENTLESSLY teasing.

Natsu’s (well all the Dragon Slayers) super hearing and smell. I ADORE the trope of Natsu hearing Lucy whisper his name in her sleep from another room. Or smelling her getting pregnancy because it’s a new smell. Or Gray teasing Natsu under his breath. Natsu and Gajeel insulting each other under their breath and having conversations.

I love Gray and Lucy being like brother and sister with teasing and such.

I love Gruvia + FWB relationship that develops into more. Like Gray saying “this doesn’t mean I love you back” and Juvia being like “I don’t care. I’m just happy to enjoy this moment”. But over time Gray starts letting his guard down and falling in actual love with Juvia, or rather, he lets himself admit it.

Erza and Jellal + Strawberry Cake picnics. Nuff said.

I’m a sucker for WELL WRITTEN Dragon Slayer Mating Season. It’s not common to find it super well written. But I’ll even read 1st person on that one of the rest of the fic/story is well done enough. I don’t like it when it has non-con elements to it though so it’s tricky. Like, they can be intensely horny and want their mates and still respect “no”. Like they might be whiny but I know Natsu would be respectful AF no matter what. He would never hurt Lucy. Ever. Same with Gajeel and Levy. I also like with Laxus also goes through it but in a slightly different way because his is from Lacrama and not being a naturally trained slayer. Like maybe Laxus just gets extremely cuddly and such. Idk I think it’d be funny.

I love when Natsu gets extremely jealous but it’s mostly internal because he hates when Lucy is mad at him so he’s just extra pissy at everyone else. And sort of cold to Lucy because he can’t deal with the emotions.

Lucy seeing the soft sides of Natsu on some missions and falling in love with every part of him.

Happy “they looooovvveeeee youuu” constantly.

Loke coming down with his own magic to slap Natsu for being an idiot/accidentally hurting Lucy.

But it’s super awkward and the tensions are HIGH.

[the next morning]

Y/n POV:

I was dead ass asleep when I felt the bed sink.

I thought nothing of it and sunk into my blanket more when I felt someone lay on me

Still not caring I was slowly drifting to sleep when someone spoke up

“Wow I see sleep is more important than saying hi to us. You know what we can go home she clearly doesn’t want to see us”

Opening my eyes I saw the gang all in my bed

Smiling in tears I sat up and hugged them all

“I thought your train got here at 8 y’all? Not-“

Looking at the clock it said 5 am

“Not 5 am. Wow y’all where zooming. Who let y’all in?”

Zeke spoke up

“Kyo and Laxus where on there way for there morning run. They saw us and let us in.”

“Crazy athletic freaks.” I mumbled

“So we can start on breakfast right?” Peick spoke up

Smiling I nodded and got up from bed.

While heading down to the kitchen I went to go see if Shoji was awake.

Opening the door as quite as I could I see Shoji was half awake

“Y/n are you okay?” Shoji said sleepy

Closing the door I walk toward his bed.

Running my hands through his bed hair I smiled.

“I’m fine Sho. Zeke and the gang showed up early than I expected so we are going to start breakfast. Want to join? You can sleep in if you want.”

Shoji sits up and stretches

“I’ll head down in a minute let me freshen up.”

Nodding I left the room

“I miss waking up to y’all’s crazy asses.”

“We did too. It’s kinda lonely without you there.”

Softly smiling i hugged him tighter and in witch he return a kiss on my head.

We kept quite conversation when I hear someone come down the stairs

I turn to see Shoji

Smiling I waved him over

Still in Reiners embrace I said

“Hey guys this right here is Shoji. He’s my bestie out in UA. He keeps me calm when I wanna commit arson.”

He waved at everyone and peick introduces everyone.

“Hi Shoji! We have heard so much good things about you! And thank you for caring for y/n and her crazy self. I’m Peick. This is my boyfriend Poco. Annie and her boyfriend Bertholdt. Marcel pocos older brother. The one being a pig and in the fridge is Zeke and lastly that’s Reiner hugging y/n”

He nods and says

“Nice to meet you guys I hope to get to know you all better. Y/n as well has talked about you guys and y’all’s adventure you guys have back at your hometown.”

Everyone let there guard down and smiled softly

“Not to ruin the wholesome moment we are all having. But I’m starving and you promised me your famous Banana Pancakes. “ Zeke said whining.

“Fine fine you guys are lucky my parents keep our fridge packet with food.” I say while getting out of Reiners hug.

“Well we can have pancakes. Bacon egg hash browns sausages and this mean ass strawberry shortcake Shoji whips up. If that’s okay with you Sho?” I say looking at him

“Yeah I’m okay with it.” Sho replied

“Well let’s get to cooking. Let’s make extras just in case people wake up and come by. Just heads up Athenas boyfriend family is staying with us as well. Before you speak up Zeke. Yes my ex is Athenas boyfriend brother.”

All the gang gave a deadly aura when I mention Iida.

“But it’s fine I have you all. I will be okay. Not let’s start breakfast before everyone shows up. Let me put on some music.”

In the hours we where whipping up breakfast I saw Shoji bond with the boys.

Us girls caught up with drama and tea

Tenyas POV:

Arriving at Y/n place at 7 am was more than I had in plan. I’m pretty sure she’s still peacefully sleeping it gives me enough time to think what I’m about to say to her.

We all got out the car and headed to the door with out stuff for the weekend.

“Why are we spending the weekend with the L/n agains ?” Tensie says

“Not that I mind my girl is here”

“Well son we all decided to spend the weekend because we haven’t had time to spend with them as a whole family. And we are needing to get used to this because I’m guessing you will marry Athena any time soon.” Mother spoke up

I see Tensie get flusters and mumbled something.

I see my parents concern faces and they introduce themselves.

“Well enough of introduction I’m as hungry as Porco here. Let’s eat up” Zeke says

Everyone started eating while y/n music played in the back.

I see her smiling and laughing along with Shoji and the rest of her friends.

We all made small talk with eachother. I kept to myself due to the fact that I didn’t want to start conversation with anyone that I didn’t know.

Finally my brother spoke up

“So y/n how have we never heard about your amazing group of friends?”

She shrugged and said

“Guess it never came up. They are childhood friends when we still lived in Marley.”

Taking a bite of her pancakes. She spoke again

“Only person I’ve mention my childhood friends is Sho. I don’t like bragging about my childhood friends like that. I’m a private person you know that Tensie”

He hums in agreement

After breakfasts I cleaned up the table along with Reiner and the rest. We left the plates for later.

We headed to the living room where everyone was.

The gang fit into One couch everyone pulled upon eachother.

“Y’all are all sitting on that couch like your mama didn’t give y’all manners” my moms said

“We got attachment issues” Annie says while curling up to Bert

Marcel Shoji and Zeke where on the floor while I was curled up to Reiner on his side and halfway on his lap on the couch along with the 2 other couples.

“So Tenya right? Is there anything you wanna know from us. You where kinda quite and giving Rei glares that could kill” Porco said casually

I look to see Tenya stiffen but relax a bit.

“I wasn’t glaring I was just observing. And yes actually how are you guys childhood friends. Y/n never really brought you guys up.”

“Well we are y/n a childhood friends in when mister l/n worked at the clinic Zekes grandfather runs. Annie and Pieck first meet y/n and they dragged her to play with us one day and bang the Eight Ally cats where born.” Porco said

Reiner groans at the name

“We still calling ourselves that?” I say

“Yes we are no changing it.” Porco said defensively

Sighing I lay my head on Reiners shoulder

“Oh and Reiner is y/n first everything. And they still love eachother. Childhood lovers. Always come back to the end to win.” Porco said casually

That comment gained a hit from everyone.

Tenyas POV:

I look up to see the boy get hit by everyone.

But what caught my eye was that y/n was fluster as well with Reiner.
