TEXAS
There was a time that I could confidently say Texans demanded a minimum level of respect and decorum from any political candidate.
That is the impression I got from reading George W. Bush's Decision Points. I could never imagine W. calling Kamala Harris a "sleazebag" or openly fantasizing about his political opponents facing a firing squads.
I remember a W. that made the right choice for the country, even though it violated his religious principles, when it came to allowing further stem cell research - because it had the potential to help save the lives of many Americans. A George that kept loyal to his mother's plea asking him not to speak of her miscarriage. A W. that would never make light of another person's disability.
That is the type of Texan I remember and I still respect. And just for the record, I might be the last American that still agrees the war in Iraq was necessary - fuck Saddam Hussain. I have yet to meet an Iraqi that is not overjoyed that piece of shit is dead - the sacrifice of our brothers and sisters was not in vain.
I know that W., together with many Texans, is disgusted watching Trump mime oral sex on a microphone. And I know they're disgusted with many more failures of character and reprehensible behaviors from Donald Trump, and I hope it's enough for them to send a strong message that "no, Texans do not support the red banner no matter what."

Every day I wake up, I become angrier and angrier. I feel geniune hate for Trump supporters and their ilk. Hate for those who didn't vote or you stupid protest voters (how's that working out for you?), who still have the nerve to say "both sides." I'm pissed. Sincerely fuck you all who aided this administration.
I would say I'm glad I live in a blue state, but not like they aren't gunning for us with pleasure.
My job is directly impacted by so many sides. RFK included...federal funding included. Screw this.

I understand it sounds really cool to write stuff like "they'd rather choose a fascist than a black woman," but americans should realize they need to build strategies and for them to be successful they need to understand their enemies profoundly. That means instead of saying stuff like "every trump voter is a fascist," you need to have enough curiosity to investigate WHY exactly people voted for him instead of just assuming, and then build stretegies to win them over based on that
If you say it's a cult, then go study cults and learn how to get people out of there. You haven't lost until you stopped to fight

pardon my phrasing but it's so obvious that (US) american liberals don't give a shit about diasporas because the amount of "we need to focus on our country first" posts I've seen about Kamala Harris is absolutely fucking absurd.
you're aware Palestinian Americans and immigrants live in this country right? you're aware they're watching the government fund genocide? liberals love using the phrase "this country is built by immigrants" but never actually support immigrants
and even still why do we have to only care about our own country's wellbeing? where's the compassion and empathy you love giving people that sit quietly and agree with you? you're no better than conservatives when you sit complicit with genocide.

Uncle Luke Blasts The Latino Community For Donald Trump Support
Uncle Luke has criticized members of the Latino community in America for voting for Donald Trump in last week’s presidential election. The controversial Hip Hop legend has made his support for Kamala Harris well known and he had little sympathy for Latinos and Hispanics who could be hit by Trump’s anti-immigration policies. In an Instagram Live, Luke said: “All y’all who didn’t vote for Kamala,…

Yes, dictatorial states make it VERY HARD for people to organize and protest, even though SOME brave people do try and a lot end up tortured and killed for that. Even so, a lot of people are silenced and don't have the means to actively go against the government on times of censorship. It's a tactic that actively does harm opposition, and that's why dictatorships continue using these methods.
At the same time, I understand the frustration of being from the global south and having seen the US install authoritative regimes on Latin America willy nilly. Of knowing people in your life who suffered. Of having the institutions in your country dismantled by these regimes. A whole generation that didn't learn politics or history at school because of the regime. And now this generation votes and some want this regime back.
I understand the frustration of seeing US citizens joke about being censored or being in a dictatorship, all the while it was the US that put a lot of our countries in these same awful situations. But these people who are afraid of what Trump will do are not the ones who wronged us. And I don't wish for their government to wrong and oppress them too.
It feels unfair to see the US express the usual fears of a totalitarian regime while we've been doing that for centuries becuse of them. And it is unfair, but it's just the way of the world and we shouldn't wish harm on anyone like that.
“We won’t be able to organize/ protest under Trump”.
People in the Global South have been organizing and protesting under dictatorships that America has installed as puppets for decades. You will be fine.
