These are all completely new votes. I usually just copy and paste my music results from previous polls (won't post the whole list, but it usually has Capital City of Flowers from Touhou 7, Cinderella Cage from Touhou 8 and Emotional Skyscraper from Touhou 12) but I decided to change things up.

I copy and pasted this list from last year. I'm into Touhou more for the fantasy setting than I am for the games, hence 3/5 votes being for the written works.

Ten Desires is my favorite Touhou game overall. It's ironic because I don't enjoy actually playing the game (it's a very uneven experience. The game is too easy if things are going well, but too punishing if you mess up even a few times) BUT artistically it's probably my favorite Touhou game. There's a unique gothic vibe to the game, from the soothingly dark UI to the setting and stages (where you visit graveyards, ancient tombs and the Netherworld). Also have to mention the excellent cast.

Urban Legend in Limbo is my favorite fighter. Again, the gameplay is kinda unbalanced, but I love the plot. The game makes Gensokyo feel so lived in. It doesn't hurt that this game has so many personal favorites of mine (Kasen, Miko, Mamizou and Mokou).

Here are my character votes for this year.

Seiga, Miko, Mamizou: I will never not vote for these three. I hate that I had to drop Okina again, but 3 favorites + 4 new votes is a good format if I want to vote for ALL of my favorite characters at some point (and I definitely want to do that). My way of making it up to Okina is by picking one of her musical themes in the music vote.

Medicine: 2023 has been a decent year to be a Medicine fan. A fan shooter named Little Doll Queen recently came out and it features Medicine fairly prominently. Medicine also got a variant in LostWord that's genuinely useful for challenging content.

Nazrin / Aunn / Yachie: I'm a fan of all three characters so I appreciate Touhou 19 giving me an excuse to vote for all of them.

Nazrin is the Myouren Temple character I find to be the most grounded. I do like the Myouren Temple characters but they all have pretty fantastical backstories and personalities. I appreciate that she's just like "I got work to do".

Aunn is Reimu's support animal. It's a simple concept but it works so well. Reimu definitely deserves one.

Someone like Aunn only works because Touhou has so many other characters who are manipulative or wicked or just plain rude. So as a person with a Seiga avatar, it shouldn't be a surprise I like Yachie.

She is, not even kidding, "Gaslight Gatekeep Girlboss" as a Touhou character. Her powers let her gaslight, she literally gatekeeps the player in her stage and she's the boss of an Animal Ghost Gang. Touhou 19 apparently turns her (and Saki and Yuuma) into failgirls via Zanmu's 4D ploys. Dunno how accurate that is, but it doesn't make me dislike her (or Saki)

I didn't end up voting any of the new characters. I like Hisami but she's probably gonna eat up all the votes in her debut poll. As for the others, I don't have strong opinions on them, probably because I haven't actually played the new game yet.
