So, I guess you're wondering if I succeeded in my Bridgerton challenge?

I did! With about an hour to spare.

I purchased a white on white quilting cotton (clearance buy!) but me and white do not get along because I'm a clutz. So I dyed it...twice.

After the first dye the printing didn't take color so I dyed it a second time with something for synthetics and ended up with this lovely result. A turkey fryer may have been involved to keep the dyebath for 8 yards of fabric hot enough.

I'm not usually this meticulous with my pattern pieces but for some reason I was this time. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The pattern is Laughing Moon 126.

Also, hyperfocus is a hell of a thing so this is the only in progress shot I took (because my kid had to take their friend home and I had to be in the car.)

Can you tell I like it? There's no pockets yet. I have to make a pair of tie on ones but there's slits for accessing them. I also used snaps instead of period accurate pins because the idea of pins that close to the girls is a wee bit frightening.

Fortunately my neighbors are used to my weirdness so I got some shots in the sun too.

Next up: Evening wear! I'll be using a different pattern for the dress and an open robe made from a sari (very period). But first, some writing and quilting.

Well, I am proud of myself right now.

Full kit is done. At this point whathever I'll manage to make will be just a nice bonus.

I made everything myself, with exception of pants, weapons and shoes.

ZEVLOR COSPLAY HORNS

They are done!!!

After spending a LOT of time studying images and screen grabs of mine from various angles from the game. God bless modders and free cams! I have now managed to do my interpretation of Zevlor's horns.

In the past I would have sculpted these in Monster Clay and then moulded and cast in resin. However that requires two sculptures and they wouldn't buy symmetrical. And resin is heavy! If made too thin it can warp in the heat.

This time I used Blender to digitally sculpt a horn that I then mirrored for that perfect symmetry.

I started off with a basic shapes, then once I refined the shape that when textures and details were added.

Now I have to prep these to my print and I can get started on a headband/painting them up :D

Depending.on how wearable/good these turn out/easy to print.....I may offer blank kits for fellow Tiefling fanatics ....we will see.

Update on my skaven larp costume

I plan on grunging up the hood and shaving the ears down, maybe airbrushing on a few details. The goggles also are a placeholder for now

My largest embroidery project so far, finished just in time for a Disco Elysium LARP I'll be going to.

The text is from a fragment of a Sapho poem which struck a chord with me: "someone will remember us, I say, even in another time". Very on brand for DE if you ask me.

I think I need to work on my lettering but by the time I got to it I just needed to finish the project ASAP.

Saturday night I got to attend the first Baltimore Frocktails event. The theme was "Be More in Bmore". Maximalism? Be extra AF? I can do that.

I started with the spencer using a regency pattern I'd been planning on making for a little while.

Since it was already lined I went ahead and made it reversible. Snaps added for closures and first phase done.

Next up was a, Edwardian skirt pattern I'd had for a while. It's ten gores with a high waist.

Since I had made the top reversible I went ahead and made the bottome reversible too. After initially considering making each gore a separate laced panel I decided to pair them for 5 swappable pieces.

For the underdress I frankenpatterned the heck out of it. I used the bust and sleeves from the gown that goes with the spencer, the lining pieces from the overskirt to make the torso, and added a couple of ruffled tiers for the bottom.

I even built in boob support and, of course, pockets.

All in all it made for a fun ensemble.

I plan on using some of the pieces for the renfest later and some for larping. Since the fabric is all cotton it's washable and not too hot considering there's about 20 yards of fabric involved.
