(warning flashing images; this scene is famously glitchy)
A scrapped, unimplemented scene for the EA version of the game where Wyll contacts Mizora while she's captured.
I liked this scene because if you played as origin!Wyll, it appeared you could determine what sort of relationship he had with Mizora.
Also sad to see warlocks contacting their patron wasn't able to be implemented in the game as demo'd here.

Found this template buried a few pages down on Google while trying to see if Larian has even responded seriously yet.

I'm aware that it's impossible that they don't know about this frustration/anger already, but I'd still love to force them to say something.
Sorry this is long. I spent a while Google searching at 4am and every forum post made me angrier and angrier and now it's 5am. Decided to put my rambling under a cut because it's not very well articulated due to it being 5am.
It's frustrating to hear praise and defensiveness when this topic is brought up. I want Larian to do better. I hope this was WotC's doing/choice (see prev reblog about who makes decisions in video games) (also would need big proof of this) , and part of their decision to say fuck working with wotc or anyone else again.
But, they are clearly receptive to everyone's requests and thirst for literally every other character, so I dunno. Idk why they'd act dumb about this if it wasn't their own writing decision either.
This is just such a low bar to clear.
I've also seen, as part of the defensiveness of the game, folks saying "racism is a serious accusation that gets thrown around and it makes the word meaningless." Saw it on a dozen forum, reddit, and even AO3 comments. That's just not true. Yeah it's serious in that it's a serious problem, but it's not an accusation of murder. Unintentional acts are just as much under the category of racism as any intentional physical violence. And if someone calls your actions racist, ya gotta examine your internalized stuff.
I want the writers at Larian to admit their flaws and commit to changing. They may not have been sitting rubbing their hands together evilly, plotting to write a shallow character. Still racism though when all non-black characters are constantly getting new content but his quests still have bugs and less-than-complete dialogue.
Tl;dr- @ defensive fans, no one is saying to delete your vampire or burn down the studio. Whether it was a conscious choice or the result of unexamined bias, Larian's writers need to show as much dedication to to their black character as they do everyone else. Every patch without Wyll fixes makes it worse and feel more intentional than not.
"bg3 set the new standard" "bg3 spoiled us" GIRL bg3 shipped unfinished with unequal content for the companions to favor the whitest man possible, and after treating the single black person in the companions like actual shit bc racists were mad about him even existing and they listened. this is not the standard i want for video games lmao
