𓍯𓄿𓏏𓆓     𓏸𓏸𓏸𓇅𓏏𓆘       𓇆𓇌𓏏𓆇𓆙
Epithets
The mother of all the gods
Great of Magic
Mistress of Earth
The Devouring Flame
Who burns the enemy at the bow of the barque of Re
She who gives light
She who glows in the darkness
Areas of Worships
Wadjet was the tutelary goddess of Lower Egypt but her cult center was in Pe and Dep. her shrine was called the per-nu or the ‘House of Flame.’
Offerings
Cobra statues or imagery of the uraeus.
You can also offer her fire- whether this is imagery, candles, or bonfires.
You can offer her papyrus, plants that grow in marshes (like cattail), or fresh greens.
Incense, candles, essential oils, or perfumes that smell of Myrrh, dragonsblood, fresh scents, grass, earthy scents
Jewelry, lapis, turquoise, or faience
Information
Wadjet’s name means ‘the fresh one,’ ‘the green one,’ or ‘she of the papyrus.’ Pinch believes this may refer to her embodiment of the constantly renewed vegetation of the marshes. The marshes themselves play a big role in Wadjet’s connection to Horus, though, as this became the place where Isis left her son to find her husband’s corpse. Wadjet and Nekhbet become the wet nurse to Herusaaset, protecting and shielding his body from any evil that may threaten him.
Wadjet was the tutelary goddess of Lower Egypt; whereas Nekhbet was the tutelary goddess of Upper Egypt- together they were know as the ‘two ladies.’ You can see both of them on the Double Crown of Egypt, or the Pschent crown, where they symbolized the unification of the two lands. Pinch suggests that perhaps they were warring opposities, in the same way that Sutekh and Horus are, but no surviving texts survive to back this up.
Wadjet, herself, is the emboidment of the ureaus on the royal headdress. She’s a protective deity of kingship and would spit fire/venom at the enemies of the pharaoh. She can be seen protecting both Re and Wesir, where she protected Re’s solar barque and the corpse of Asar. Her protecting the corpse of Wesir might connect her to being a guardian of the deceased king.

Bio - Alexander [Xander] Hedgemon
Tumblr media
Name: Alexander Hedgemon Nicknames: Xander
Gender: Male
Birth World: Arcadia Home World: Lapis Current Residence: Starling House
Birthday: 08/25
Physical Appearance: A tall and lean beanpole of a young man who has the same orange-blonde hair, fawn colored skin, and a neat and tidy means of dressing like his dad. But his eyes are a blue-gray like his late mother’s. He often wears clean plain shirts of various colors and many casual jeans. He wears thick round-eye spectacles that make his eyes look bigger or silly and has several pairs in different materials. Some black plastic, some metal like pewter or bronze . . and one that’s waxed copper.
Age: 22
Personality: Xander is an eager and intelligent young man whose perhaps a bit too easily distracted and tends to go off on random tangents when he finds a particular topic that draws him in. Boy’s got a case of the hyper-fixation. In times of need however he can pull himself together.
Relationships;
Eulen Hedgemon - Father - Alexander has a healthy relationship with his father. Most of the things he does he works together with his father on when it comes to the house and the estate.
Alice Hedgemon - Mother [Deceased] - Even though she died when he was little he still remembers her fondly. He remembers she had near-infinite patience like her husband, and an unlimited compassion for her fellows. Sometimes he does get pangs of sadness because he misses her, I mean who doesn’t?
Maude Starling - Xander’s little cousin is a gods-send in his eyes. He can’t count the number of times she’s slipped a plate of sandwiches and chips next to him and the others when they were doing research. The house would fall apart without her contribution and that’s a fact!
Evelyn Starling - Evelyn is older than him by two years and three months. His relationship with her is more positive than his dad, but she still sometimes acts so distant with the lot of them, except maybe for Maude. He knows Maude is always on Evie’s list of priorities. She’s the eldest, someone has to take responsibility.
About: Xander is the only son of Eulen and Alice Hedgemon. At 22 years old he already has enough knowledge and genius intellect to rival people three times his age, and he still has a long way to go! He’s always coming up with new gadgets and formulas to assist in the growth of not only the house but the entire Ex-Isle community! He re-programmed two iron golems to guard the southern coastal light-house and waxed them to protect them from the coastal elements.
He also is responsible for the myriad advanced copper golems that run maintenance on the clockwork devices across the island. If something on the island breaks down, the copper golems are on top of it. And if the golems break down, the fixing instructions are straightforward. Clean the golems and re-wax them to get stuff running again. Even in his downtime he tinkers, and makes mechanical clockwork delights. Sometimes for his own to keep, but most of the time he gives them out as gifts for his friends, children on the island, or ‘visitors’ that left a good impression. [He is also quite fluent in villager-ese.]
[Voice Claim: Michael J. Fox - Milo James Thatch]

How about the idea that Aizen Sosuke is a magician-alchemist in the world of «Bleach»? For a magician, truth is what gives the greatest power over reality. However, even the ancient еgyptians believed that the most powerful magician was the God-Creator himself, Neberdger (Re-Osiris), who created the world with 7 spells. In Orthodox Christianity, there are several saints who was magician in the past (for example, St. Cyprian of Antioch): God turned them all to Himself, revealing His will and power to them.
The ancient egyptian Pyramid Texts describe a series of divine transformations of the king, a «ladder of gods», that passed into hermeticism (alchemy) and even into Kabbalah. This is called theurgy. The result of this Opus Magnum is the Philosopher's Stone, literally Hōgyoku. However, Hōgyoku can be called an inverted Lapis Philosophorum, since it is a result, not a means/catalyst.
The image, that Aizen receives at the end of the transformations, alludes to the first angelic rank in Orthodoxy, the seraphim. However, Aizen loses his face, but communication with God occurs face to Face, it is a conversation between two personalities.
Tumblr media
Aizen's fight against the Soul King is reminiscent of a Gnostic's fight against the false god, the Demiurge. Aizen is disgusted by the dominance of an imaginary deity, and there is no true God in «Bleach» (because the japanese do not accept Christianity well).
Tumblr media
Finally, look into these eyes. Below is the gaze of the sarcophagus mask, directed at the image located inside the coffin – the image of the God Neberdger (Re-Osiris), who can only be seen at the End of the world. It is interesting that the coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ, into the world is the beginning of the Apocalypse, the «Kingdom not of this world». Saint Macarius the Great called the saints «witnesses and bearers of the end of the world».
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The body of God pours out light, therefore the pupils of eyes are narrowed. Aizen's eyes seem to be created to see the true God, who does not exist in his world.

"THE HANGED MAN."
KIM KITSURAGI - "Great! That's great. That's actually what *I* was thinking too -- THE HANGED MAN. Good, strong name. We have a very good name for the case now."
He flips the pages of his notebook. "I'm going to start calling it THE HANGED MAN. It's good we sorted this out."
Task complete: Read your ledger and name the case
+30 XP
4. I'm done inspecting these. (Close the case files.)
DAMAGED LEDGER - You don't exactly *close* them, so much as *distance* yourself from the smelly papers. They're a little further from your nose now.
We've unlocked a check to read the files.
Tumblr media
+1 Kim explained the system.
3. [Logic - Medium 11] Can I read the case files now?
Tumblr media
LOGIC [Medium: Failure] - It's possible: yes. Easy: no. You need to come up with a small archaeological system to re-order the remains of your past works. At the moment all they do is fall apart in your hands. Some dates and the numeric titular system is all you have.
Reading the case files would take some time, anyway.
4. Browse the *yellow* pages.
DAMAGED LEDGER - In the back you see thin translucent copier paper -- some neon yellow, some bright red -- all covered in boxes, like marching armies. These look like official forms, waiting to be filled out...
LOGIC [Easy: Success] - ...then *rip* them from the binder, and hand them out. According to type of form.
What types of forms are there?
DAMAGED LEDGER - Three. The topmost are MISCONDUCT FINES, the middle ones are STATION CALLS, and the bottommost are FIELD AUTOPSY FORMS. Each is easy enough to make sense of.
MISCONDUCT FINE.
STATION CALL.
FIELD AUTOPSY.
Enough of these. (Close forms).
DAMAGED LEDGER - A monetary penalization ranging from 20 to 250 reál. Severe cases allow for 1000 reál, but that requires special paperwork. The details of issuing these fines are spread out over the rest of the fields.
2. STATION CALL.
DAMAGED LEDGER - These are quite sinister in tone. They give a date and time for the person to 'appear' at the specified Precinct Police Station. Below the 'call' are the criminal charges you risk by 'not appearing'.
3. FIELD AUTOPSY.
DAMAGED LEDGER - A dozen pages of thin copy paper, bright red in colour. You see the parameters of a deceased human form, waiting to be filled in: age, sex, condition of internal organs...
4. Enough of these. (Close forms.)
DAMAGED LEDGER - Yes -- all that remains now is to fill those forms and *hand* them to people: fines for wrongdoers, interview requests for bad guys, and field autopsies to *dead* guys.
+5 XP
AUTHORITY [Medium: Success] - What delicious power hid within this pathetic mess... you feel better.
+1 Healed Health
DAMAGED LEDGER - The rest of the stinking cellulose is *much* worse for wear. Being sandwiched between the board and the rest of the paperwork must have spared the fragile copier paper.
5. Look at the clipboard.
DAMAGED LEDGER - It's made of dark blue plastic hard enough to beat someone to submission with. The edges are rounded, however. The U4-sized board feels thick and heavy in your hand. Light shimmers on its wet surface. On the back you see the embossed letters: RCM.
What did you say the colour was?
Shake the ledger.
Back to the rest of this mess.
DAMAGED LEDGER - Blue.
INLAND EMPIRE [Medium: Success] - The blue heart. Don't look into it.
2. Shake the ledger.
DAMAGED LEDGER - Something rattles inside, ever so lightly. Is there... a hidden compartment?
Peek inside.
DAMAGED LEDGER - The plastic shimmers like lapis lazuli, but it is not see-through. You cannot see to its centre...
3. How would I open it? (Conclude.)
DAMAGED LEDGER - With your hands? U4-sized pages hang from the clip screwed to the top of the board.
Tumblr media
We'll try this Interfacing check in a minute.
7. Smell the ledger.
DAMAGED LEDGER - The acidic stench of rotting food has rubbed off on the cellulose. It now forms the *base* of the experience. This base surrounded by a faint air of spoiled meat -- the stuff of death itself! -- and then sprinkled liberally with the citrus zest of toilet cleaner.
Tumblr media
6. [Interfacing - Medium 10] Open the hidden compartment in the clipboard.
Tumblr media
INTERFACING [Medium: Success] - Hmm. The two sides of the board appear slightly misaligned. Like a drawer that's come off the slides. If you *bend* the plastic on your knee, slowly...
...the slides *snap* back into place. It should be possible to just... you know...
Slide the drawer open.
Wait... somehow I don't want to.
Fuck no -- put the ledger away. [Leave.]
DAMAGED LEDGER - What are you waiting for? Just...
INLAND EMPIRE [Medium: Success] - That's because you know where this leads to.
HORRIFIC NECKTIE - That doesn't sound like it's gonna be *fun*.
Slide the drawer open.
DAMAGED LEDGER - Without resistance -- or sound -- the two panels move against each other. The compartment is now open.
What's inside?
DAMAGED LEDGER - Two ticket stubs and a handmade postcard.
Tumblr media
Pick up the ticket stubs.
Pick up the card. (Proceed.)
Fucking kill yourself you asshole.
Close the permeables' compartment.
DAMAGED LEDGER - Two octopuses are smiling, reaching their tentacles toward each other in the coloured pencil drawings. The tickets permit access to a zoo in Revachol East. The aquarium costs extra -- these let you go there too.
2. Pick up the card. (Proceed.)
DAMAGED LEDGER - Thin wax paper has been glued to a piece of cardboard. Sounds like leaves rustling when you pick it up -- you see violet flowers, floral patterns, patches of glue.
Smell it first.
Open it.
Put it back.
DAMAGED LEDGER - It smells of chewing gum -- apricot flavoured.
PERCEPTION (SMELL) [Easy: Success] - A touch of cinnamon, the end of summer. You think the label says: 'Tutti Frutti'.
Open it.
DAMAGED LEDGER - Familiar handwriting lines the inside of the card -- looped, round letters in a woman's hand.
VISUAL CALCULUS [Easy: Success] - A young woman in her twenties. There is care, effort, and a *smile*, you think -- although that is not something you can read from someone's handwriting.
DAMAGED LEDGER - "Harry," it begins -- you're already reading. "I wanted to write you a letter, so you can read it when you wake up. Maybe it will make you happy."
VOLITION [Easy: Success] - Throw it away. Please.
But it will make me *happy*...
DAMAGED LEDGER - A merciful wind blows in from the Bay of Revachol, dusting the ground at your feet and raising newspapers far away. You feel the card slipping into it...
What was that?
Throw the card into the wind.
Hold onto it. Read the card.
SHIVERS - Frisson covers your entire body. A feeling of cold. A persistent chill.

Between Ornament and Narrative: The Reimagining of the “Orient” through the Lens of Chinoiserie
Within the decorative arts system of 18th-century Europe, Chinoiserie was not merely a passing style — it functioned as a mechanism of visual re-coding. Drawing from an imagined “Orient” as raw material, it reconstructed structures, translated imagery, and reinterpreted materials to build an exotic world designed for viewing, display, and reinterpretation. In this world, cultural boundaries were replaced by aesthetic orders; Eastern imagery was wrapped within Western formal logic and material systems, becoming a visual presence both remote and intimate.
Tumblr media
Mid-18th-century French Chinoiserie snuffbox, courtesy of the V&A Museum
Take, for example, this mid-18th-century oval Chinoiserie snuffbox made in France. With its exquisite craftsmanship and complex visual narrative, the piece stands as a paradigm of Chinoiserie aesthetics in the realm of decorative arts. Its visual language, material choices, and compositional strategy collectively reveal the cultural mechanism underlying the Western imagination of the “Orient” — and behind its form, convey deeper meanings about visual authority and aesthetic control.
The lid and sides depict quintessential “Eastern” scenes: pavilions, gardens, laboring figures, and birds in motion — all constructing a visualized exotic realm. These images represented a “viewable Orient” constructed within 18th-century European cultural discourse. They formed an institutionalized illusion, catering to aristocratic curiosity and the desire to possess cultural otherness. Though the figures bear East Asian markers, their gestures, proportions, and spatial arrangements obey European aesthetic logic rooted in lightness, fluidity, and ornamental rhythm — resulting in a Western aesthetic structure that used the “Orient” as a semantic resource.
In its material choices, the work also reflects the entanglement of cultural fantasy and material language. Primarily constructed from aventurine quartz with gilt metal framing, the surface is inlaid with lapis lazuli, chalcedony, shell, ruby, and diamonds. These materials, long imbued with “Oriental” qualities in the European imagination, do more than convey luxury — they signify culture. Lapis and chalcedony evoked China and Central Asia through color and texture, while ruby and diamond accents reaffirmed the piece’s noble stature through a language of courtly ornament. Through the lavish array of materials and embedded exotic symbols, the snuffbox transcends functionality to become a displayable, narratable, and aesthetically consumable Oriental marvel.
Its visual structure further reflects the deep integration of Chinoiserie and Rococo aesthetics. In contrast to Chinese painting’s emphasis on atmosphere and negative space through scattered perspective, this piece employs a European “roving gaze” compositional model. It avoids a visual center, instead guiding the eye through swirling lines, rhythmic image density, and multiple visual nodes. The spatial relationships among buildings, plants, and figures do not follow real-world logic, but compose a theatrical, appreciable exotic scene. This visual strategy does not aim to faithfully depict the East — it creates a controllable image of the Other, servicing the aesthetic construction of the Western gaze.
This French snuffbox not only showcases the technical and material achievements of 18th-century decorative arts, but also exemplifies the complexity and historical tension of Chinoiserie as a visual order. It offers delight, yet creates distance; it expresses luxury, yet conveys dominance.

CHUCUI PALACE “Hidden Dragon” Earrings
Another example is the Hidden Dragon earrings by CHUCUI PALACE, a pioneer in Chinoiserie-inspired fine jewelry. Centered on the traditional Chinoiserie totem of the dragon, the piece follows a vertically ascending visual structure seen in classical Chinese compositions. From the dragon’s head to its tail, its form unfolds layer by layer, creating a powerful sense of upward momentum. The posture resists stiff symmetry, instead flowing with dynamic tension that embodies a profound visual force.
In its visual reinterpretation, the design avoids traditional depictions of imperial might. Instead, it retains the dragon’s basic skeleton while incorporating symbolic abstraction and decorative stylization. The result is a form that is slender, flowing, and imbued with restrained energy — closer to the “silken-threaded strength” of Chinese aesthetics than to the beastly dragons of Western mythology. The imagery leans toward the sacred, the elegant, and the spiritual rather than the fearsome.
Color-wise, the piece adopts a palette of lush jade green accented with highlights, evoking Eastern philosophies of nature. The interplay of green and milky white resembles the layered translucency of ink washes in Chinese landscape painting. The transitions between structural elements — head, clouds, and body — are executed through curved, continuous surfaces rather than rigid joints. This maintains the fluidity of the silhouette while embedding a sense of rhythm and transformation within the structure itself. The construction becomes a choreography of visual movement — one of Chinoiserie’s key aesthetic features: transforming Eastern motifs into an expressive language, not mere pictorial emblems.
In Chinese tradition, the dragon is a composite symbol of power, auspiciousness, and spiritual resonance. Yet here, the dragon does not dominate the clouds; it weaves gracefully through the structure, embedded within the composition’s fluid lines. It animates the rhythm and relational structure of the visual field, acting as the hidden driver behind the design.
“Hidden Dragon” goes beyond the surface appropriation of Chinoiserie — it delves into the aesthetic tradition’s symbolic core. It treats the “East” as a system of metaphor, reconstructed through a cross-cultural visual language. On this foundation, the design creates a contemplative and symbolic vision — transcending the boundaries of the object to become a medium of cultural dialogue. It is one of the most conceptually sophisticated expressions of Chinoiserie in contemporary jewelry.

Chinoiserie Figurine Group, c. 1766, courtesy of the V&A Museum
This porcelain sculpture from the mid-18th century, produced by the Ludwigsburg Porcelain Manufactory in Germany and attributed to Joseph Anton Weinmüller, is a key three-dimensional representation of European Chinoiserie aesthetics. Created during his brief tenure at the factory, this figurine group exemplifies the Western romanticized reconstruction of Chinese imagery — and demonstrates how Chinoiserie operated as a system of exotic dreams, both materially and visually.
The sculpture features a robed “Oriental official” in a pointed hat standing alongside a child attendant, set atop a rocky pedestal. Beside the figure sits a blue-and-white vase brimming with flowers. The composition is highly theatrical: the adult stands poised and solemn, hands crossed before him, while the child clings playfully at his side — creating a rhythmic contrast. Though thematically “Eastern,” the composition and narrative remain firmly shaped by Western artistic conventions.
Chinoiserie’s hallmark here lies in the hybridity of its imagery and symbolic transplantation. The costumes attempt to mimic Chinese robes — long sleeves, floral patterns, exotic hats — but the color schemes and textile treatments reflect European tastes for novelty and ornament. For instance, the man’s linear robe patterns and the child’s geometric motifs derive not from Qing-era textiles, but from European artisans’ reinterpretations of “Oriental fabric” through their own decorative lens. This approach — “inspired by China, not imitative of it” — is central to Chinoiserie. Eastern motifs are abstracted into pattern resources, re-encoded to serve Western visual structures.
The character styling reveals the Western aesthetic fabrication of the cultural Other. The adult’s facial contours, features, and beard reflect stereotypical Western notions of “Eastern sages” or “scholarly officials,” bearing little resemblance to actual Chinese figures. These theatrical, idealized depictions rendered the “Oriental” figure both charming and docile — a collectible, controllable Other. Rather than portraying cultural understanding, such imagery served Europe’s symbolic consumption of foreign cultures during the Enlightenment.
The symbolic content extends to spatial composition and object treatment. The vase overflowing with flowers, for instance, merges Chinese porcelain symbolism with European still-life traditions. While the blue-and-white ceramic evokes Chinese export ware, its pairing with a floral bouquet reflects European conventions. This hybridized “surreal” assembly reduces the Orient to a flexible reservoir of visual ideas — its meaning shaped not by original context, but by the viewer’s Western perspective.
Notably, the entire sculpture adopts a “single-stage” theatrical layout, echoing Chinoiserie’s decorative role in European court spaces. Such porcelain works were not standalone artworks but tabletop ornaments or fireplace décor — part of the court’s material order and social rituals. They built a spatial mythology of the “Orient”: distant yet intimate, complex yet simplified.
From the Chinoiserie viewpoint, the “Orient” no longer functioned as a fixed or authentic cultural referent — it became a continuously reconfigured field of visual semantics. It hovered between historical truth and cultural projection, transformed through image editing, formal transplantation, and material translation into a syntax that fit the Western aesthetic system. The goal was not to understand the East, but to control its visibility — to shape it for ornamental rhythm and narrative intent.
Through Chinoiserie across different mediums, we observe how the cultural Other often emerges as a visual spectacle: symbolized, stylized, and ultimately absorbed into a consumable aesthetic order. Ornament and narrative are not opposites, but co-conspirators; formal precision often walks hand-in-hand with metaphors of power. In this entwinement of representation and structure, Chinoiserie reveals its true aesthetic complexity and cultural elasticity. It not only belongs to the sensibilities of the 18th century but also offers a critical framework for understanding the logic of cross-cultural visual discourse.

I've never watched any kind of (q?)smp, honestly. I think Schlatt did a home inspection in one, but it seemed like a more casual server. I know some have lore. Some have Lore. Some have babies. Some have demons and angels and clones and kidnappings and canonical death in a game where you respawn so I don't understand how that works I jump off cliffs all the time that just seems CRUEL. I've seen your posts. I have been... intrigued, but some have Captain Sparkles, and I don't know if I could ever take that man seriously. No offense to the jester, but there's bells on his hat.
However, I do have a barely-functioning realm server that I share with my boyfriend. We have fun skins, we build cool (for us) stuff, and we generally play at a pretty slow pace. Both of us were the sorts of players drug behind our Gamer(tm) friends. By the time we had enough diamonds to afford a good pickaxe, another was skimming through the Nether for "rich piggies". By the time we could get out of our mines or elaborate little builds, it was pointless; we'd be under-armed in an End battle while buddies in enchanted armor humored you enough to allow you the last hit... sometimes.
We play at a slow pace. We also play how WE like. That means that I started the server so that, when you die, you keep your inventory and xp. Eventually, after many frustrations with Creepers who definitely spawn WAY more than they used to, I disabled their explosions. Fire still lets me interact on fair grounds with my frenemy mangrove, but the creepers just sorta... poof. Maybe ouch ya. On one last, completely unsurprising, note, we play on Easy mode.
On this admittedly baby-mode server, we've built some pretty cool stuff! Our first home together was The Log Cabin, which I've only burned down once (well, three times, but once to any significant extent). Our spawn wasn't great, but we found this lovely oasis, an enclave full of sheep and flowers. An enclave, surrounded on all sides by mangrove trees. Their wood (and saplings, supplying trees for the backyard and reforestation) all went to our home. My bf was on construction, while I did.. a lot of stuff. Mostly lighting fires. The Log Cabin displays proudly a peculiar wealth we've collected: lapis lazuli. It's my favorite gemstone, and we have SO MUCH of it. EVERYWHERE. Our road of Lapis leads to the desert.
It *directly* leads to a LONG.
AND I MEAN LONG.
Mangrove bridge.
But eventually.
There's a desert.
Trust me.
You'll see it soon.
Ignore Hell, Michigan along the way.
You did it!
Metaphorically, I mean.
Anyway.
I like to write little stories for myself, all the time. Sometimes they are very mean or devious, and people call that anxiety. Sometimes they tell me there is a devil in the desert. At *first*, though, my boyfriend suggested we turn the desert fountain into a burn pit. I was going to build an oasis around that fountain, but it had already crossed me by not having loot. Iron bars and fire pit it was. I decided to, instead, build an artificial oasis, but a little different. I made it look miraculous, but natural.
It was unnatural. Startlingly unnatural. Its construction killed the local fauna, and I burned their useless skins. I introduced grass and I cheered as I watched it grow. I made acacia trees grow on soil I introduced to this particular patch of sand. When some of the dirt didn't give me grass, I placed moss. I introduced *sea*grass to the water. Nothing could escape my grass wrath. I blocked off ALL view of Hell, Michigan. If it was in my line of sight, I couldn't help but see it.
I was unwanted here. I was unappreciated here. I was destructive here. I was colonizing, unkindly. What I valued was, largely, what I brought. I was not "bettering" or "beautifying" the land. I was visually an aberration, an flea from a foreign land flung on the long bridge past Hell (, Michigan) itself to eat and alter.
My little story said that something in the fire pit let me do this. There was a treasure after all! That first rejection, in a series of rejections: of sand, of rabbits, of even my line of sight as I sat in my perfect "desert" cabana. I imagined myself throwing so many stacks of material in that flame, for hours and hours and hours. Some was gold armor. Raw meat was tossed in along spider eyes.
"Whatever you would like, sweet fire. Let the grass spread and the trees grow, and every day you will eat bounty."
My side bar tells me the fire crackles.
I assume with delight.
Should this all go in our favors, I think I'll offer steak.
And that, alongside many other things, inspired me to build a new shrine for the devil in the desert. An altar that would lead our little family to the upper mid-game we'd never truly achieved.
There is an elephant.
I am aware.
There is Hell right at our doorstep.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
All of that is naturally generated. Including the stone floating arrow. Its magma blocks glow gently in the night.
I would offer a better caption, but I cannot. I tried.
It's so much more haunting at night, but minecraft screenshotting sucks.
How can I not make Hell and Hell sister cities?
There's a devil in the desert, and he will neatly connect our cow-less kingdom to cows and then we get enchantments and then we get nether portal fast travel and then we get to the End and then we WIN!
I'll do it to win.

" judge me all you want, but this blanket fort has brought me more peace than anything else in my entire life. "
when he walks into the apartment, late at night, & flicks on the lights, miguel certainly isn't expecting to see the couch completely gone from its proper place, or all of the chairs ( including the kitchen island's stools ) moved from their original positions. the tv, which has always been mounted on the wall, is gone, which is disconcerting. where the fuck did the tv go? his first thought, perhaps stupidly, is maybe ethan's apartment on the fifth floor of the apartment complex got robbed. in fact, where did everything else go? the state of the apartment can be likened to a tornado blowing through, chaos left in its wake.
miguel's thumb immediately moves to hover over the lighter blue lapis lazuli band on his engagement ring, the eldritch panic alarm. just in case. ❝ ethan? sam? robby? tory? ❞ he calls out, confusion clear in his tone. he hears the sound of ethan's wings fluttering from somewhere further in the apartment, & he blinks when the lights overhead flicker a few times rapidly. the sink faucet turns on, despite miguel being in front of the doorway... & nowhere near the sink.
okay. ethan's here. that's good.
❝ we're in our room! ❞ tory responds. he can sort-of hear tory's voice from inside the blanket fort, which is located in their bedroom.
he relaxes, then toes off his shoes at the doorway, messing with his hair for a second. he moves further into the apartment, barely pausing to shrug off ethan's his jacket from his body, tossing it on the kitchen island.
when miguel enters their bedroom, he certainly isn’t expecting to see a gigantic fort, but he supposes he should have, given the fact that his fiancé is an eldritch being capable of literally anything. he's careful not to trip on any of the blankets edges as he approaches the opening of the masterfully constructed blanket fort, crouching down to see who's inside. ethan is curled up next to robby with his head on his fiancé's chest, his eyes closed, earplugs in. black, this time, miguel notices. it could mean nothing, that ethan just wanted to wear the black colored earplugs, but it could mean something more. ethan’s larger, first set of ink-black wings are wrapped carefully around robby in an almost protective cocoon. tory is sitting on the other side of ethan in the fort, sprawled comfortably out. she's texting emma.
❝ uh... is everything okay? ❞ miguel asks, blinking a few times.
tory looks up at him, then puts her phone on her chest. ❝ ethan wanted to ❝ relax in style ❞, so we made a blanket fort. there’s more than enough room for you & sam to fit in here, too. if you want to join us. ❞ she runs her hand through ethan's brown hair. he doesn't open his eyes. he doesn't greet miguel, either, which confuses miguel a little bit. he looks over at tory for an explanation. ❝ he's nonverbal right now. he had a nightmare earlier. i think it’s why he wanted to build the blanket fort. ❞ tory explains quietly. she keeps her tone light, but there's concern in her eyes.
miguel grimaces slightly, wincing.
❝ judge me all you want, but this blanket fort has brought me more peace than anything else in my entire life. ❞ he looks over when @taughtpain speaks, then laughs lightly, a small grin touching his lips.
❝ trust me, there's no judgement here. blanket forts are cool. especially when they can be made even better by a pretty cute eldritch being. ❞ it’s also a good distraction for a distressed eldritch, so that’s a bonus in miguel’s eyes. ❝ you in particular look cozy… ❞ his eyes slide towards ethan, who grunts softly in his sleep, nudging robby’s chest slightly, ❝ not as much as eth, though, i think. ❞ miguel reaches a hand out, patting ethan’s knee lightly to wake him up. the taller boy cracks an eye open, pupil flashing red for a split second. miguel startles slightly; he’s still not used to seeing ethan’s eyes glowing different colors. ethan says nothing, but relaxes. then, he sits up slightly, drawing his knees up to his chest, wings disappearing.
miguel takes the opportunity actually to scoot into the blanket fort, a hand reaching out to cup ethan’s face gently, eyes searching his. he just wants to check up on him. ethan melts into the contact, his right hand reaching up to place itself over miguel’s. ❝ are you sure you’re okay? ❞ miguel whispers. ethan hesitates for a split second, then gives a small nod. he doesn’t exactly believe him, but he won’t push him for answers. he doesn’t want to upset ethan any more than he already is. miguel’s eyes flash over towards robby. ❝ scoot over, keene. i’m gonna settle in next to you. ❞ he winks at robby. ethan’s lips pull up into a small smirk, & his eyes flicker yellow, signaling amusement. miguel’s doing his best to make ethan feel better, & it seems to be working.
point, diaz-wilson!
