The Core skylander base for Light skylanders is tricky for me, but I had to draw my OC Lancelight.

I've decided to redraw some of my old Skylanders OC characters and redesigns, starting with Lancelight. This is primarily from a main AU where Light and Dark aren't rare Elements and are integrated into the Core of Light, which I call "The Ancient Core" instead. Spotlight and Blackout also appear in Spyro's Adventure as the primary dragons.

But for now, This is Lancelight

Origin:

Like many young angels, Lancelight always wanted to join the Paladin guard when he grew up. But his small wings were too weak for flying, causing the other angels to look down on him. Nonetheless, Lancelight trained hard in the ways of Spear combat everyday, determined to prove himself as a Paladin

When an army of trolls sent by the Evil Portal Mistress Kaosandra managed to capture all flying angels using specialized nets in an effort to steal their wings, it was Lancelight and his unique fighting style that caught the trolls off guard, allowing him to rescue them.

The other angels finally recognized his strength as a warrior and finally offered to make him a Paladin... But Lancelight declined. His heroic actions had reached Master Eon, and he was instead invited to join the Skylanders, who defended all of Skylands and not just the Angelic city. Nonetheless the Angels regard Lancelight as one of their strongest warriors to this day

A lancelight cos I aint drawn shit recently and felt compelled

This whole ramble is about lancelights shield redesign, it basically got ignored but w/e, how else am I gonna explain having a goddamn shield that fires lasers and rainbows, just fug me up

The whole concept is based around magicubes, an incredibly cheap disposable camera flash technology from the early 70's

Its essentially a rotating box with four small lightbulbs in it, that basically blow up when used to produce a camera flash. It doesnt require a battery to use unlike its predecessor, which lead me to decide they were cool as shit and totally viable for hagwarders

All shields have one of these in the centre and 3 more in reserve for a total of 16 shots, to function they either use the mechanism of a compatible vintage camera thats been jury rigged so the range of the mechanism is extended, that's secured between the forearm straps, or simply the top part that allows it to rotate and activate the magicube, all shield concepts also have a viewhole for the purposes of precision use.

The flash shield is the simplest of them really, its not got anything covering it and the inner pattern would amplify and reflect the flash forwards, a good distraction for running up and poking them full of holes while they cant see shit

The hag eye lens concept treats a hag eye like a gem, in the sense that if you cut it perfectly and did everything possible you could turn it into a light focusing lens, all light is reflected into the lens producing a focused beam that would be able to maim or definitely injure a hag. Said beam couldnt really last any longer that a second so its a weapon of precision and hitting the right spots

The hag eye prism concept in a similar fashion, relies on the feasibility of being able to cut one into a prism instead of a lens, instead of all the light being focused on one small area its dispersed into a fucking rainbow ruggin2 it wouldnt last any longer than a second either but it'd have a much wider area of effect than the lens, its also anime as fuck and cool as hell

The one thing on mind for me is 'if this can happen why isnt every warder running around with a hag eye glued to a torch' and my general ideas for why it would even be possible are either A, a hags taken out with incredibly unique eyes that already resemble lenses or prisms,that are just recycled and put directly onto the shield. or B, the whole thing is a fluke of another character (probably Scrapscamp) pissing about, experimenting and being unable to replicate the process, but managing to make one of each beforehand.

Lancelights had a shield change, cos while her big fuckoff tower shield was a big part of her original design it A cant be uses with a spear for shit, and B wouldn't of reflected much

This new shield is basically a flash umbrella on the inside, the original idea for the improved shield looked straight outta raccoon city but atleast this new one should actually compliment the flash.

Yo! U have a skylanders au?? Can u give a summary? I wanna know more about this!!!

Oh crap, I was not expecting an ask related to it, ngl. A lot of my AUs aren't too story driven and just focus on characters and personalities. Skylanders is my least developed AU admittedly, but here are some points that are notable about it.

The core Skylanders are the youngest generation of Skylanders, but the most important, given their job is to protect the ancient core.

It's called the Ancient Core instead of "the core of light" because there is now a distinct good and evil element unique to portal masters. "Core" is all ten elements combined in the name of good, while "Corruption" or "Kaos" is all ten combined in the name of evil. They are both often mistaken for light and dark, and their battle is eternal and necessary for maintaining balance. One can never truly be rid of the other.

Likewise, between the ten traditional elements, opposites are equally effective against each other. Magic v Tech, Fire V Water and so on.

Spyro, Flameslinger, Stealth elf, Hex, Blackout, Whirlwind, Spotlight, Trigger happy, Gill grunt, and Dino rang are considered the Captains or leaders of each element. Cynder, Stump smash, Terrafin, Jet-vac, Popfizz, Eruptor, Sproket, Ebon (take on Dark Spyro), Whamshell, and OC Lancelight are the co-captains or second in command. Eon considers these twenty to be his most trusted Core Skylanders.

I try to give a little more background to Hex and Flameslinger considering they're my favorites. Flameslinger coming from a family that just exploited his firey eyes for money before he ran away, and Hex coming from a rich, but loving family she was scared to reconnect with after what Malefore did to her... they grow a close bond despite their different backgrounds.

Light and Dark are no longer considered rare elements and are just as important as the other 8. While I haven't drawn any new characters in a while, I eventually plan on making a ton of Light and Dark custom Skylanders to even these two elements with the others.

Two scrapped Skylanders, Tar-clops and Sun Dragon (renamed Rayden) have been redesigned as a Dark and Light Skylander respectively.

Golden Queen is the most changed after reforming to become a sensei Skylander, which is most surprising. She spends a lot of time trying to convince the other doomraiders who haven't yet changed to reform.

This AU is big on dimensional rifts and crossovers, serving as a focal point to connect other AUs related to my other hyperfixations. The main character of another AU is actually also supposed to become Eon's successor.

Skylanders are immortal beings. Eon's successor is also set to be the first immortal portal master due to taking on a Skylander role before discovering they are a portal master.

Besides Flameslinger and Hex (Hexslinger) and the occasional Stealth elf and Sprocket (Stealthsprocket) her are some other ships I support:

Chill x Rider, Spyro X Cynder (basic, but this was one I grew up with), Camo x Whirlwind, Sunburn x Sonic boom, Trigger happy x Pop fizz, Torch x Batspin, Scratch x High five, Golden Queen and an Earth Bowslinger I plan on making named Dusty, Ebon (my good Dark Spyro) X Spotlight, Nightfall x a non Imaginator OC named Jace, and Mags x Persephone.

May or may not be doing this out of spite for that rude dude who made that video yesterday

Also my fan character Lancelight will be shipped too, but I haven't drawn that character yet

If you could make one of your light and dark ocs into superchargers which ones would they be

Out of the Core Skylanders I made already for Light and Dark, assuming that's what you mean, I'd probably pick Lancelight and Night Howler. Lancelight would be called "Laserblade Lancelight" and use a laser lance inspired by Sci-fi, while Night Howler would be "War Claw Night Howler, now equipped with metalic metal clawed Gauntlets.

Their vehicles would be called the "Heaven Piercer" and the "Depth Hunter" but Idk what they'd look like at the moment
