Now, here's a cool lake house going up for cash auction, and it's not far from the Michigan International Speedway. It's a teepee cottage, but it does have an addition that you can't see from the road. 1920 build in Manitou Beach, MI, 2bds, 1ba, bidding starts at $175K. Of course, the current owners have been using it as an Airbnb. (Comes furnished.)
I happen to be a sucker for old knotty pine. The living room is so unique. Manitou Beach is a year round resort town, so I would live in this, myself.
Counter to the kitchen.
I expected a kitchenette, but they actually got a full kitchen to fit in here.
And, the kitchen comes out around the stairs.
And, then the living room extends. This is quite the layout.
Around here, there's a dining area with a built-in counter as it seamlessly flows into the addition.
It's bigger than I thought it would be upstairs in the tip. But, there's more.
Look at where the ladder leads- to the very top where there's another sleep space. How cozy is this?
And, it's even got a little fan with an overhead light.
It's unclear where the bathroom is located, but it's clearly in the pyramid structure.
Has everything, though, even a sink.
This is the primary bedroom.
Around the back.
Just steps from the lake.
I love this little house.
The house is located on Round Lake and across the road is the larger Devil's Lake.
Steam is running a sale on games until the end of November. I’m really torn between The Cat Lady and Rusty Lake Bundle.. I’ve seen both games from two different YouTubers and would like to buy both eventually, but at the moment can only buy one of the games. I don’t think anyone will really see this post, but any thoughts on which game I should get first?
The Twin Cities are actually genuinely the geekiest place I have ever lived. Like you wouldn't think that would be something that would be as geographic culturally, but no, between us having the oldest sci-fi bookstore in the US (as well as one of the oldest science fiction and fantasy conventions in the country, which is still going), a thriving filk scene and another decades-old, fan-run convention that's one of the most successful of its kind, one of the better and more interesting Renfaires I've visited, a thriving SCA and Star Wars cosplay club presence, and a long history of supporting independent bookstores and public broadcasting, there is a definite geeky Energy here unlike other cities I've been to before.
Maybe it has something to do with it being below freezing outside 4-5 months out of the year, so people have found other ways to amuse themselves, or maybe it's just one of those things where one larger generation of fans begets another, but it's another thing I truly like about living here.
Also I now understand how the state of Minnesota birthed MST3K.
Minnesota's Most Expensive Home, On Sale For Almost $12.5 Million
Woodland Glen, a country estate sitting on nearly 3.5 acres overlooking Lake Minnetonka, is the priciest home in Minnesota. Built in 1988 and measuring almost 20,000 square feet, the place — listed for $12.49 million — boasts six bedrooms and a rather excessive 12 bathrooms.
The home's luxurious furnishings include a grand twin staircase, coffered ceilings, marble floors, a decked-out kitchen and a (again, excessive) dozen fireplaces.
Elsewhere in the giant house, there's a personal movie theater, a bar, a game room and an impressively sized indoor lap pool. And because no rich person's home is complete without a tennis court, there's one sat lakeside with enviable views of the water. This place has twelve fireplaces. Twelve.

Thanks to Ingek73 for sending this 2019 contemporary lake house that is currently a vacation rental, but is now for sale in Coln Waters, Lechlade, Gloucestershire, UK. 5bds, 5ba, £5.250M / $6.540M
As you can see across the lake, it is a community of homes that look alike. Each one has a deck and an infinity pool on the water.
It has a large entrance hall with a bench and storage.
The main living area is an open concept living/dining/kitchen space. I like the cluster of 3 light fixtures. That's different.
Modern fireplace on the far wall has floor-to-ceiling storage for firewood. The room gets a lot of natural light from a wall of glass doors and windows.
Spacious dining area has a view of the dock and the lake.
Between the dining room and kitchen, they've placed a family room. The house is so large, there's plenty of room to spare.
The everyday dining space in front of the kitchen can fit a much larger table and it has a corner view of the lake and the deck.
The kitchen is also a very spread-out space.
There is also a separate family room for watching TV.
Plus, a nice office. Every room has sliding doors and a view.
The primary bedroom has enough room for a sitting area and a desk. The bed faces the lake and there's access to the outdoors.
Each of the 5 bedrooms has its own en-suite bath.
And, each bedroom also has a lakeview and access to the outside.
This room has a smaller bath, but it's still very roomy.
