How to Get the Best Prices on Wholesale Fabric in Nigeria
Nigeria’s fabric market is renowned for its vibrant and diverse range of textiles, from Ankara and lace to adire and more. For fashion designers, tailors, and retail shop owners, buying fabric in bulk at wholesale prices is essential to boost profit margins. However, navigating the wholesale market can be challenging, especially for those unfamiliar with it. Below are key tips to help you secure the best prices on wholesale fabric suppliers in Nigeria, allowing you to get quality textiles without overspending.
Research Your Suppliers
Before committing to a purchase, take the time to research potential wholesale fabric suppliers. Look for established and reputable suppliers known for delivering quality fabrics and reliable service. Explore online platforms, social media groups, and industry-specific forums to gather insights on supplier reputations. Visiting local markets and fabric trade shows is another great way to build connections and gain firsthand knowledge of fabric options. Comparing prices and fabric quality from various suppliers will help you make informed decisions.
Tumblr media
Buy in Bulk
Buying fabric in bulk is one of the most effective ways to lower costs. Many suppliers offer discounted rates for larger orders, so it pays to stock up on popular fabrics. Estimate your future project or seasonal needs to avoid overbuying or running short. You can also partner with other designers or shop owners to place a larger combined order, allowing you to meet bulk order requirements and share in the savings.
Negotiate Prices
In the Nigerian fabric market, negotiating is common and often expected. Don’t hesitate to haggle with suppliers to secure a better price. Clearly communicate the quantity you wish to purchase and express your interest in building a long-term partnership. Suppliers are often more willing to offer discounts if they see the potential for repeat business. Approach negotiations confidently and politely, and you may be able to significantly reduce costs.
Tumblr media
Attend Fabric Trade Shows
Attending fabric trade shows and exhibitions is an excellent way to discover competitive prices and explore a wide variety of fabrics. These events gather numerous suppliers under one roof, making it easier to compare prices, quality, and styles. Exhibitors often provide exclusive deals during the shows, giving you more opportunities to save. Networking with fellow industry professionals at these events can also lead to helpful recommendations for reliable suppliers.
Stay Updated on Trends
Keeping track of fabric and fashion trends can help you make smarter purchasing decisions. Knowing which fabrics are in demand will guide your buying strategy, enabling you to choose textiles that are likely to sell quickly. Suppliers may also offer discounts on last season’s stock, which can be a profitable opportunity if you know how to market those fabrics effectively.
Approaching wholesale fabric purchases strategically can be highly rewarding. By researching suppliers, buying in bulk, negotiating prices, attending trade shows, and staying informed on trends, you can secure the best prices and quality fabrics from sources like JayBecks Store. Call 0908-146-6711 to place your order and take your fashion business to the next level.

Welcome to another edition of Rich People With No Taste. If you can afford this $19.995M, (plus a paltry $74 mo. HOA fee), Mediterranean home in Rancho Santa Fe, California, you can make all 7bds, 9ba, as over-the-top ornate as you like. Who cares, you have staff to clean all the tackiness with a toothbrush.
Tumblr media
So, what do tasteless rich people like? Well, they like to put lions in front of their homes. (I have some paper mache lions that I painted pink in mine, b/c I'm a tacky middle class person.)
Tumblr media
And, they like marble. Look at the ceilings- each one is dfferent.
Tumblr media
They like elaborate carving. That fireplace!
Tumblr media
They also like gold, big historic tapestries and paintings, and draperies- yards and yards of swooping, tied-back fabric.
Tumblr media
Long halls with fancy walls, curved ceilings, and chandeliers. Lots of chandeliers.
Tumblr media
They like tufted upholstered walls and in the home office, a desk fit for royalty, with a big chandelier over it.
Tumblr media
They don't cook in or clean the kitchen, so they have fancy carved out counters. Who cares if the help bangs a hip into it?
Tumblr media
Super shiny cabinetry with carved details, b/c they don't have to clean the grease off, or climb up to clean a skylight.
Tumblr media
Definitely everyday dining room. It's too small to be a formal dining room.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In keeping with current home trends, a family room with a bar is in the open concept kitchen.
Tumblr media
Behind the bar. Is that silver bowl a fountain?
Tumblr media
Check out the primary bedroom. Yikes! There's so much empty floorspace so you can enjoy full effect of the carpet. Can you imagine how long it would take to vacuum this with a normal sized vacuum?
Tumblr media
A huge fireplace is a requirement in the primary.
Tumblr media
Check out the en-suite.
Tumblr media
Where do you even buy a toilet like that? This ain't no Home Depot stuff.
Tumblr media
One of the secondary bedrooms only has a wood floor and store-bought drapes. You have to save some money, somewhere, even though you're rich.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This bath has a larger shower, another gold leaf tub, but a less fancy toilet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Only 6 seats and flat screen in the home theater? This is unacceptable.
Tumblr media
Gigantic laundry room- notice the key in the lock. When you're washing designer clothes, you have to keep it locked.
Tumblr media
I wouldn't want to be the one to clean this marble garage floor.
Tumblr media
Enter the gated property with a waterfall on the right.
Tumblr media
The home sits on 2.70 acres and look at the size of that lap pool. It even has a turnaround.

DEVELOPING: Recently unsealed documents expose a disturbing entrapment plot allegedly orchestrated by figures within the General Services Administration (GSA) under the Biden Administration after the Trump administration ended. These documents detail how the GSA stored six pallets of boxes in Virginia—boxes brimming with documents Donald Trump never solicited. A confidential source informed DOJ prosecutor Michael Thakur that Trump's team was unexpectedly commanded to retrieve these unrequested boxes. More sinister still, upon retrieval, these boxes, which Trump was seemingly strong-armed into accepting, were discovered to contain documents marked as "classified." Initially abandoned in Virginia, just outside of DC, these contentious boxes were ultimately transported to Mar-a-Lago, culminating in charges against Trump for possessing classified documents he purportedly never wanted. This unfolding raises grave questions about the potential misuse of power by the DOJ, particularly under the direction of Special Counsel Jack Smith, with evidence pointing to a broader strategy orchestrated by the Biden Administration. Accusations suggest that Smith may be leveraging ambiguous legal boundaries to fabricate a crisis and steer the legal process. Such tactics point to a justice system compromised by political machinations, casting doubts over the fairness and impartiality of high-stakes legal battles. This apparent manipulation not only undermines the foundations of legal integrity but also positions Jack Smith as a central figure in what could be perceived as a judicially sanctioned scheme to target President Trump.

Patta x Nike Air Max 1 Chlorophyll
Tumblr media
Nike and Patta are marking a major milestone: 20 years of Patta’s influence in the sneaker world. To celebrate, the two brands are dropping one of the most coveted Air Max 1 collaborations ever—the Patta x Nike Air Max 1 "Chlorophyll." This exclusive release honors both Patta's 20-year anniversary and 15 years of groundbreaking collaborations between the Dutch brand and Nike.
This re-release is a nod to the iconic 2009 Air Max 1 Chlorophyll, but with modern touches that bring a fresh spin to a sneaker grail. Designers were meticulous in reusing the same fabrics from the original drop, ensuring authenticity. The timeless Chlorophyll and Matte Silver colorway returns, with a few updates like a custom Patta tongue label and an updated sock liner featuring a €20 bill design, celebrating Patta’s two decades in the game. The sneakers also come in a special edition box with Chlorophyll accents, highlighting Patta’s rich history and continued influence on sneaker culture.
Patta cofounder Guillaume “Gee” Schmidt reflected on the significance of the collaboration, saying, “The original Chlorophyll project was almost like a first album: It was full of energy, ideation, and felt so organic. With this release, we stick to the essence of the shoe, which truly stands the test of time. It’s an amazing moment to bring back a sneaker that’s so coveted and loved by the sneaker community.”
Founded in Amsterdam in 2004, Patta began as a boutique sneaker shop and has since evolved into a cultural powerhouse, known for its innovative designs and community-driven initiatives. Over the years, Nike and Patta have partnered more than 10 times, with six of those collaborations involving the Air Max 1. Together, they’ve created some of the most sought-after sneaker colorways, cementing Patta’s position as Nike’s longest-running and most impactful Air Max collaborator.
Their collaboration extends beyond footwear, touching on both sport and culture. From the first Nike FC Barcelona x Patta collection to the Nike x Patta Running Team capsule, the partnership blends performance with elevated lifestyle pieces. Patta’s influence even extends to community initiatives like the Patta Academy, which Nike proudly supports, helping young entrepreneurs grow their talents and follow their dreams.
Schmidt emphasizes that Patta’s work is about more than just product. “We always make sure we have something to say. Whether it’s highlighting the people we surround ourselves with or sharing a meaningful story, it’s about supporting the next generation. That’s the essence of what we do, especially in our collaborations with Nike.”
Leo Sandino-Taylor, Nike’s VP of Global Energy Marketing, echoed that sentiment: “Patta’s commitment to its community and vision is what makes them an outstanding partner. Their ability to serve and inspire their audience is unmatched, and you can feel the Patta DNA in every project we’ve done together.”
The Patta x Nike Air Max 1 "Chlorophyll" will be available exclusively at pattaxnike.com and Patta chapter stores starting on September 13, with early in-store access at Patta’s Lagos store on September 12. This drop is a must-have for collectors and sneakerheads eager to own a piece of sneaker history.

Badagry, situated in the western tip of Lagos city and about an hour drive from Lagos fundamental land, is the second biggest business town in Lagos State.
The beginning of Badagry could be followed back to the period when individuals lived along the Bank of Gberefu that later brought forth the town of Badagry.
Badagry has a momentous spot throughout the entire existence of Nigeria's excursion to freedom, consequently its well known epithet - the old city. The town, established in the fifteenth 100 years - on a tidal pond, was a critical port in the product of captives to America, during the time of slave exchange Nigeria.

Badagry is situated in a quiet climate to a great extent encompassed by the sea and near Seme line. The town gets bunches of visits, from sightseers to understudies and history darlings who need to investigate the gallery, fascination focuses, and find out about Nigeria's set of experiences.
Vacation destination Focuses IN BADAGRY
A famous hotel community in Badagry is the Murmuring Palms Resort. Possessing 8 sections of land of land, Murmuring Palms Resort is situated in Iworo, Badagry and lies on the Tidal pond, providing you with an ideal perspective on nature. The cool Atlantic breeze, silica sands, palms trees and tweeting birds recognizes it from clamoring urban communities, as it is a spot away from the standard commotion of traffic and raving residents.
It harbors a smaller than usual zoo, pool, various scaled down nurseries and Nigerian carvings and works of art (counting bronze heads of different Yoruba divinities).
There are basic and extravagance facilities for visitors to pick from. The hotel likewise offers nearby and intercontinental foods - Ogbono flavored with Ugu and severe leaf, Spanish paella, coconut shrimps, Cantonese chicken among others.
Very much like other significant vacation spot focuses, it draws in loads of individuals yearly who need some time away to unwind and appreciate nature. What procured Murmuring Palms Resort its notoriety is its closeness to significant vacation spot focus like the slave historical centers, which takes around 20 to 30 minutes' drive.
Past that, another element is the presence of a small exhibition hall called the Legacy room. The scaled down exhibition hall houses relics of slave exchange, for example, - slave chains and pictures of generally significant areas (like the site where Christianity was first taught in Nigeria in 1842).
The Primary designs in Nigeria.
The main essential and optional schooling systems in Nigeria are St Thomas Anglican Elementary School and Badagry Punctuation School.
Fabricated millennia after the principal story building was developed in Nigeria, the structure sitting above the Marina waterfront, worked in 1842 by Fire up Bernard Freeman and different ministers, is frequently alluded to as the main story working in Nigeria.

Racist Clothing Brands + Black Brands to Buy From Instead:
                                         Racist Brands
Chanel
Chanel has been repeatedly accused of racially profiling Black customers and last year they hired a white woman as head of their "diversity and inclusion" department.
Gucci
Gucci has a complicated history with the Black community, stemming from them all but trying to destroy Dapper Dan's business only to hire him two decades later. Most recently they came under fire for releasing a sweater that had suspiciously Blackface elements and stealing designs from Black designers.
Prada
Prada has a similar history and they recently had to apologize after releasing a collection of monkey key chains.
Dior
Dior's most recent fragrance campaign came under fire for racist undertones but a Black Hollywood stylist also gave BET.com an account of an incident that she had with a brand. The stylist requests to remain anonymous says, "they compromised our creative relationship by not following through on requests and instead loaning looks that were promised to me to white actors instead."
Celine
Celine's branding is notoriously extremely thin and extremely white. A quick scroll of their social media will reveal exactly their opinion on Black lives.
Barney’s
Before going bankrupt, Barney's had to pay out a settlement in a racial discrimination case of $525k to two plantiffs.
Moda Operandi
A former employee of the company released this thread on Moda Operandi, citing several micro aggressions she suffered there.
Burberry
Burberry issued an apology after releasing a sweater featuring a noose motif.
Tommy Hilfiger
In 1996, Tommy Hilfiger famously made comments against the Black community and has since clarified what he meant, but the hurt in the community lingers.
Moschino
Managers discriminated against black customers who did not appear to be rich or famous.
“If a potential black client was not a celebrity and did not have an outward appearance of money via diamonds or name brands, defendant [Ranna] Selbak called them a ‘Serena’ to other sales associates and wanted the ‘Serena’ to be closely watched,” according to the complaint.
Versace
A former male Versace employee sued Versace for allegedly firing him after his manager realized he was Black.
Zara
Zara was accused of using racial code words for black and Latinx customers. The Center for Popular Democracy surveyed 251 Zara employees in New York City about the retailer’s practices. Poll respondents said that when the term “special order” was used at the store, employees were to find the location of the shoppers in question and follow them around. Black customers were most often described as “special orders,” according to the survey results.
Reformation
They were criticised for their internal practices by a black former employee, Elle Santiago. Santiago said she was denied work promotions in favor of white colleagues, as well as being ignored by the company founder, Yael Aflalo, because of her race.
“Being overlooked and undervalued as a woman of color who worked and managed their flagship store for three years was the hardest,” Santiago wrote in an Instagram post picked up by industry watchdog Diet Prada. “I cried many times knowing [that] the color of my skin would get me nowhere in the company.”
Urban Outfitters
“As one of very few PoC [people of color] I quickly noticed the toxic environment I’d joined,” says the former employee, who wishes to remain anonymous. “Within my first month my manager made a flippant racist comment in regards to an Uber I’d called; the driver’s name was Muhammad. Her comment was, ‘You would get a Muhammad’ – in what I can only take as a comment made because of my heritage.
“There’s no PoC in the executive team and very little representation of PoC in head office, on the website, marketing campaigns and within the retail management teams.”
The company has a history of producing offensive items of clothing, including a seemingly blood-spattered T-shirt seen as a reference to the 1970 Kent State shootings; a T-shirt in a color named “Obama/Black”; another featuring a six-pointed badge, which seemed to allude to the Star of David badge that Jewish people were forced to wear during the Holocaust; and a racially insensitive Navajo line which used the Navajo nation name illegally.
Dolce & Gabbana
Ads, featured a Chinese woman struggling to eat spaghetti and pizza with chopsticks.
Comme des Garçons
White models wore wigs of traditional Black people’s hairstyles during its men’s autumn/winter 2020 show.
                                             BLACK BRANDS
ASATA MAISE
This designer transforms vintage fabrics into unique pieces that are made to be photographed. I mean, this whole slideshow of looks is A-R-T. LOS ANGELES (OnlineColumnist.com), Aug. 27, 2022.--Former President Donald Trump and his attorneys tried but failed to justify the contents of some 25 boxes of documents and miscellaneous materials removed Aug. 8 under a Department of Justice search warrant from the locked basement of his Palm Beach Mar-a-Lago residence.  Trump, his attorneys and former aids tried to say that anything contained in boxes at Mar-a-Lago was declassified by the president, a process requiring involvement by various government departments.  So, when it came to 184 classified documents, including 25 marked “To Secret”: were found in Feb. when Trump handed over to the National Archives some 15 boxes of materials.  DOJ investigators got concerned that Trump was not releasing the bulk of materials deemed classified by the National Archives, seeking all, not some, of the documents Trump removed from the White House when he left office Jan. 20, 2020.
Calling the Fourth Amendment search-and-seizure of Mar-a-Lago documents “the Break-in of my home,” Trump told his audience on Truth Social that there was no justification for the DOJ and FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago.  Well if the first batch of classified documents released to the National Archives were incomplete, what did Trump think the National Archives was supposed to do?  Forget about the abundance of classified materials stored in Mar-a-Lago’s locked basement?  DOJ officials had enough of Trump’s excuses for retaining at least 25 more boxes of materials, no matter how worthless to U.S. national security.  “I believe that sealing this documents is necessary because the items and information to be seized are relevant to an ongoing investigation and the FBI has no yet identified all potential criminal consideration nor located all evidence related to its investigation,” said an unnamed FBI agent.
FBI officials said the redactions were necessary in the affidavit because it would compromise sources-and-methods used in the investigation.  “Premature disclosure of the contents of this affidavit and related documents may have a significant  and negative impact on the continuing investigation and may severely jeopardize the effectiveness by allowing criminal parties an opportunity to flee, destroy evidence [stored electronically or otherwise] change patters of behavior, and notify criminal confederates,” said the unnamed FBI agent.  Releasing the redacted affidavit gave the public everything they need to know about the ongoing investigation into Trump’s violations of various federal records acts, including the Presidential Records Act, Title 18. Section 271 of the U.S. Code and the 1917 Espionage Act, all of which could carry criminal charges, essentially ending Trump’s bid to run in 2024.
Trump’s argument that this was all part of the same witch hunt that fabricated an FBI counterintelligence investigation of his 2016 presidential campaign does not excuse the fact that Trump and his handlers removed classified documents from the White House and stored them illegally in Mar-a-Lago’s basement.  DOJ and FBI officials must ask themselves some tough questions regarding filing charges against Trump for violating various U.S. records; acts. What bothers Trump and his associates about the Mar-a-Lago raid was the fact that it was ordered by Deputy Atty. Gen. Lisa Monaco, the same person who conspired with 62-year-old former FBI Director James Comey who used Crossfire Hurricane to harass Trump for his 2016 campaign and the four years of his presidency.  But when comes down to this time around, there’s not much Trump can say about violating U.S. record-keeping.
Trump’s legal arguments break down when he insists that he declassified all the documents found by the FBI at Mar-a-Lago.  For that to happen, he would have asked various agencies to declassify documents retained by the White House and transported to a distant location in Palm Beach..  U.S. federal magistrate Bruce Reinhart approved the release of the redacted DOJ warrant due to the public’s compelling interest in the case.  Media reports indicate that FBI agents have had their lives threatened for raiding Trump’s personal residence.  Reinhart felt in releasing the redacted warrant the public would have more understanding of the basis for removing documents from Mar-a-Lago. Whether Trump broke technical aspects of various U.S. records acts, Atty. Gen. Merrick Garland must ask what compelling reason would there be to indict Trump.  Clearly, the government established probable cause.
President Joe Biden, who defeated Trump in the Nov. 3, 2020 presidential election, as asked to comment about Trump’s retention of classified materials.  “I just want you to know I’ve declassified everything in the world.  I’m president.  I can do it,” Biden said sarcastically, when asked about Trump record problems.  “Come on,” Biden said, refusing to accept that any president can arbitrarily declassify documents at his whim.  “The government has well-founded concerns that steps may be take to frustrate or otherwise interfere with this investigation if fact in the affidavit were prematurely discloses,” said a DOJ memo.  Whatever federal records laws Trump breached, Garland will have to decide whether they’re compelling enough to indict a past president for the purpose of making him pay.  Republicans say that if Trump is indicted, it would kill his plans for 2024.

LONDON, WHERE YOUR HEART LINGERS
Tumblr media
London, a city that never sleeps, is a world away from Lagos, where I was born. Despite the cultural differences, London has a lot to offer, and I enjoy my time here. I came here to study design, and now I'm creating my own mental map of London. This comes as no surprise to me because I am a visual learner who benefits from seeing things in visuals. This piece was inspired by my passion for design and how it has helped me preserve my life. The thrill of visiting London is comparable to that of a toddler visiting his favourite sweet store.
Tumblr media
The city architecture, outdoor signage, marketing posters, wall artworks, brilliant lights, and advertisements littering at every neck turn, London is truly everything I wished it would be and more!
London is, in my opinion, the birthplace of graphic design. The practise is ingrained in the city's fabric and can be found in every nook and crevice. Designs abound in the subways, above ground, and across the city, their brilliant colours and enticing words urging me to spend every money I had at every turn. The infographic design vibe is elucidated by the city map's abstract design covered with fascinating-colored lines. Although solitary creative endeavours flourish, legislative laws encourage the design community, and city designs are subsidised. Even if art shows are a holy grail, you may easily walk into one in London!
Ed Vaizey, the minister for culture and digital economy, hinted about a prospective tax break for those in the creative industry during the Creative England event in 2016. This could be due to the fact that British design is well-known around the world, as Secretary of State Jeremy Wright has stated. “Design is a crucial component of the everyday lives of Londoners and an integral aspect of the city's soft power abroad, according to the secretary, from Rolls Royce to tartan pattern, Brompton bikes to the London Eye and the Mini automobile”. As the government works on its new industrial plan, he determined that the city wants design to remain at the centre of it so the United Kingdom can be the best destination in the world to grow the design industry. This further strengthened my conviction that London is where I want to be.
Tumblr media
According to Edward Glaeser (2011), London is the greatest invention of the English man. He maintained that London is a global metropolis with a separate international reputation, not a sub-brand of the United Kingdom. When it comes to design and the business of design, London, in my opinion has the best brand of any city and can be compared to other well-known cities such as Barcelona, Turin, Berlin, New York, and Singapore. I can't help but think of London as a city where your heart stays as I ride across the city on my bike, feeling the cold fall breeze over my face.
Below is an infographic I made on the design sector in the United Kingdom.
