the hades and persephone parallels between rio and agatha respectively truly drive me crazy

hades was seen as one of the most important gods in the greek pantheon because he helped maintain the balance between life and death. he was often regarded as a benevolent, peaceful and impartial. he's considered fair, likely because of his domain. after all, the dead don't discriminate.

persephone on the other hand could be vengeful and wrathful. her name literally translates to "bringer of death". after marrying hades, persephone becomes associated with light and dark themes, including reincarnation and ghosts.

rio is death incarnate. agatha is the spirit witch, currently a literal ghost. this parallel was curated for them.
