I've posted about my various Adventure Time Roleswap AUs, like a billion years ago (actually it was like six) and now that I've got New Artwork and slightly reworked designs for them maybe it's time to re-introduce them!!
So this what I call the "Bonnieverse'! It's a PB-Finn, Simon-Marcy roleswap! More details under the cut:
Bonnie Bubblegum: A young gum-blob girl found in the woods in the outskirts of Ooo and raised in the Crystal Dimension by Bob and Ethel Raincorn. At the age of 12, Bonnie returned to the Land of Ooo to live with her adoptive older sister Lady - and to try and uncover the mysteries of where she came from. Nobody quite knows what she is or ever heard of other “candy people” like her, as far as anyone knows she’s the first of her kind. She's an aspiring inventor - often creating goofy gadgets to help her on her adventures, but she’s still young and inexperienced so they don't always work as expected. While she’s not a bad fighter with her crossbow, she prefers to defeat her enemies with diplomacy or a clever plan. In spite of her cheerful and gentle demeanor, she had a ruthless strike that tends to catch others off-guard.
Lady Raincorn: Bonnie’s adoptive sister, pretty much the same as her regularverse counterpart. Maybe she’s a bit more of an overly nice pushover to provide more drama and to play off her more ruthless sister.
Prince Finn Martens: The young leader the Human Kingdom - a small island-based kingdom inhabited by the last few Humans in Ooo, as well as Hyoomans and other mutants ('Human' is considered more of a national identity than a species). Prince Finn used to enjoy being a thrill-seeking adventurer when he was Bonnie’s age. But ever since his mother, Queen Minerva, died of a plague - he had to step up and be more responsible as the new ruler of the kingdom. He does try his best, even though he’s still a bit of a violent, immature, fun-loving goofball at heart and not doing such a great job dealing with his mom’s death. Might be a bit living vicariously through Bonnie’s adventurous exploits. His steed is his adopted shapeshifting dog brother Jake (who is basically the same as in the mainverse)
Vampire Queen: Once Marceline Abadeer, a fun-loving pre-Mushroom-War rock star who found herself afflicted with vampirism. Marceline found it extremely hard to resist her vampire urges and secluded herself from her loved ones - trying to scare them away from trying to help her. After surviving the Mushroom War, she started hunting down other Vampires on purpose and absorbing their power to be strong enough to survive through the Apocalypse. Which only made things worse for both her self-image and her mental state. The acclimation of not just her Vampire curse, but those of countless other vampires, has really subsumed the original Marceline. Nowadays, she has very little memories of the person who she once was and, as the last vampire left in Ooo, she ‘rules’ over the desolate and gloomy (and nearly empty) ‘Undead Kingdom’. She spends her time trying to frighten people and appear as a terrifying villain (as a subconscious remnant of her desire to push people away before she hurts them or they hurt her) - but it mostly comes off as weird pranks which are (usually) harmless.
Simon the Ice Wizard: A young child when the Mushroom War broke out, Simon was orphaned by the war and was raised by Marceline Abadeer (AKA Vampire Queen). After she abandoned him to protect him from herself, he found himself under the frosty wing of Patience St. Pim, the Ice Elemental - who made him her protégé and transformed him into a powerful immortal elemental wizard. Although their relationship was always kinda distant. All of those experiences and more made Simon on the one hand very protective and kind and on the other hand kinda obnoxiously clingy and socially awkward. Although he's a well-meaning guy and the biggest nerd in Ooo - through a seemingly never-ending sequence of unfortunate misunderstanding he has accidently managed to develop a terrifying reputation as a fearsome merciless wizard. He's mostly interested in playing the drums and collecting and cataloging pre-Mushroom War artifacts. He and Bonnie are get along great because they’re both huge geeks, though he’s overprotective and doesn’t feel comfortable with the idea of a young child being the hero of the kingdom -which brings him to a lot of conflict with Prince Finn (also Finn just generally likes teasing him for being a huge nerd).

I’ve been talking about it in my discord server, and there are two theories on why some random raincorns are speaking English in this episode:
1. They didn’t have enough Korean voice actors available. I’d be willing to bet Lady’s parents don’t actually speak Korean
2. This episode was supposed to be understandable even without subtitles, and so they needed some English speaking characters to provide context. At lot of the English dialogue is repeating what was just said in Korean, so that make sense.

Jake the dog
Oh like for the ask meme? Ok I’m sorry I have not seen Adventure Time in like years- so my memory about it is sorta foggy but I’ll give it a shot-
Favorite thing about them:
Hm probably his personality. He seems real chill and cool, also kinda joke-y. I’d wanna be his friend probably.
Least favorite thing about them:
His design honestly. Idk it doesn’t do it for me. Simple designs can be cool, but I don’t think he looks cool
Favorite line:
That one time he sing an entire song about bacon pancakes. I can’t quote it but you probably know what I’m talking about
brOTP
Jake and Finn obviously- they are like bestest friends
OTP
Jake and Lady Raincorn! Another not surprising one since it’s canon- they’re cute ok?
nOTP
I can’t think of any like bad pairings from the top of my head- uh just any ships with minors cuz that’s creepy
Unpopular opinion
Probably that I don’t like his design that much- or maybe it isn’t idk but it probably is
Song I associate with them
uh um oh no. I don’t have one- the only music I listen to is video game music and like a few love songs from the 80s none of them fit
Favorite picture of them:
This one because what the fuck

If JATP Characters ever dressed up as Adventure Time Characters. Reggie would be Finn. Luke would be Jake because of the Puppy eyes. Julie would be Lumpy Space Princess because both their signature colors are Purple. Alex would be Prince Gumball because both their signature colors are Pink. Carrie would be Princess Bubblegum wearing her Pastel Pink Wig. Flynn would be Lady Raincorn because Flynn wears very colorful outfits and she has a Unicorn patch on her backpack.
Yess! I need the whole squad to dress up and just go to a con or something

My Adventure Time Thank You
Adventure Time has been a show that I've stuck with since the beginning. It was my first real fandom. And the fact that it ended today is something else. I'm overjoyed at the experience, but sad that a show that came out when I was eight ended in ironically the beginning of my senior year. I'm still crying at the ending.
Thank you Pen Ward and @adammuto for this show. Special kudos to Pen for voicing LSP who made me laugh more times then I can count. I've laughed till my gut hurts, I've cried into my pillow and went through boxes of tissues, I've yelled in anger that I punched a wall before, and I've smiled until my cheeks were ready to fall off.
Thank you Tom Kenny for Ice King. Man, I remembered how I used to hate Ice King for being creepy, but after finding out it was crown made me turn around all the way. Even when I rewatch episodes I feel a sense of sadness for him. Thanks for being a cool cat.
Thank you Niki Yang for Lady Raincorn and BMO. I still don't understand a single lick of Korean, but I enjoyed them none the less. I still say who wants to play video games everytime I offer to play a game. Thank you for being you're unique self.
Thank you Hynden Walch for Princess Bonnibel Bubblegum. I really love my favorite princess and love to see how she grew into the wonderful ruler she is. You made me love and hate her at times, but in the end I love her through and through. Thank you for being this sweet character.
Thank you Olivia Olson for Marceline the Vampire Queen. She was my favorite character ever since they aired "Evicted!" on TV to see how well Adventure Time would do. You made me love music more than I ever do. You were especially relatable about the Daddy Issues. In fact, I dressed up as Marceline with my own axe bass for a convention in Hawaii. I'm also pretty sure Marceline was my bisexual awakening and my bisexual icon. Thank you for this radical dame that loves to play games.
Thank you John DiMaggio for Jake the Dog. He ended up being the big brother I wanted. Sure he gave bad advice every now and then but I love my favorite shapeshifting dog no matter what. You always made me laugh when I really needed it. In fact when I'm sad I just sing some of your silly songs to cheer me up. I'm going to miss him so much. Thank you for my stretchy big brother dog.
And a big thank you to my favorite character and voice actor Jeremy Shada for Finn the Human. Geez where do I start. I love Finn so much and your voice that I followed you through your future works of Incredible Crew, Makeout Monday, Mr Student Body President, and my second favorite show (cause Adventure Time is number one) with Voltron. I loved Finn from the second I saw him that admittedly he was my first cartoon crush. I dressed up as him for two Halloweens in a row and for the Finale I wore my Finn Hat and hugged my Jake Doll. Finn made me feel the most things and without him and you I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be the same person today. He showed me to do the right thing, but within certain limits. He helped me get through a couple break ups and how to deal with them. Finn has been a role model of me when I heard him speak his first line.
Thank you @adventuretime for the amazing show I'll always remember it, and everything stays inside my heart. So thank you for the Ultimate Adventure Time.

What are some of your favorite Adventure Time episodes/story arcs?
Oh this is going to be hard.
I really loved the Stakes mini-series. I also love episodes that focus on the side characters. I really liked that episode with Shelby and his little brother. I also loved Beautopia, Jake vs. Me-Mow, Dad's Dungeon, Too Young, Princess Monster Wife, Sons of Mars and one episode I really, really, really, REALLY love is Lady and Peebles. I adore Lady Raincorn.
As for arcs, I really enjoyed seeing Ice King grow as a character and I loved learning more about him. He became a character I really enjoyed.

As long as you’re here...
A fubblegum drabble request by TheOneAndOnly1993. Takes place after ‘The Music Hole’.
Word length: 1.6K approx.
“Hold up, did you say a singing hole in the ground?”
The sun had come and gone, and the battle of the bands had ended unceremoniously. The music judge, Finn, had left the scene early on for whatever reason, to the ire of the participants. Princess Bubblegum, who had orchestrated the whole thing, was actually more worried instead of upset, since this stunt was supposed to improve Finn’s mood. It was only when he returned with Jake and Lady Rainicorn were her worries put at ease, and she was hearing the whole story from Finn.
Although he claimed he was feeling better as a result, she couldn’t help but feel a little upset that she had nothing to do with it.
“Well, it wasn’t exactly singing,” chimed Jake, tuning his viola that he never got to use, “Or talking. Or makin’ any kinda noise.”
“But she was real and you saw her,” Finn defended, leering at the dog as he flew with Lady Rainicorn.
Lady Rainicorn spoke up, but Finn couldn’t understand her, to which Jake responded, “Yeah, I know.”
“Wait wait wait,” the princess interrupted with a stern gesture of her hands, “Did this hole have a feminine voice that only you could hear?”
Finn looked astonished as Jake and Lady exchanged looks, “Yeah,” said the boy.
“And was it the most beautiful song you had ever heard?” she continued to ask.
With a soft nod from the boy, the princess turned to the dog and Raincorn.
“Jake, Lady, would you excuse us for a second?” Bubblegum commanded, the two reacting in surprise, “I’d like to speak with Finn in private.”
The princess led Finn to the makeshift backroom, built out of some furniture and a black curtain. Although it was meant for the contestants to practice their performance in private, foresight be damned, there was no lamp to illuminate the area now that night had fallen. Fortunately, the princess carried a pocket lantern with her everywhere she went, and with the room lit up, the two took a seat on the sofa provided.
“So, you’ve been having a rough go at it lately, huh?” Princess Bubblegum asked.
Finn shied away, looking at the floor and twiddling his fingers, “I mean, I guess.”
“Finn, don’t give me that,” she prodded, putting a hand to his shoulder, “A lot has happened to you over this past year. And quite frankly, I’m surprised you didn’t hear Tripo Harmonia sooner.”
“Trippo who?” Finn looked up to her with a confused look.
“The music hole,” she looked into his eyes, “You heard the music hole.”
He never asked for a name, nor did she give him one, but Finn would forever remember that singing pit in the ground as the music hole.
“You...You know about it?” he asked, she confirmed with a nod, “How come you didn’t hear it today?”
“Same reason you never heard it until today,” she responded with a shrug, removing her hand, “Only the untainted youth and the traumatically depressed are ever known to hear one singing.”
Finn looked down in thought. If the princess knew about it so well, well enough that she knew what it sounded like, then maybe...
“So, you’ve heard it before then,” he asked, looking to her, “When did you hear the music hole singing?”
Princess Bubblegum looked away, not in shame, but in nostalgia. She held the look of sadness in her eyes, but she smiled faintly in fondness of the memories resurfacing.
“I only heard it three times in my entire life,” she said softly, eyes affixed to nothing, “Once, when I was a child. The other was when I lost my throne to the King of Ooo. And the other time was...” she snapped out of her trance and looked to Finn sheepishly, “Ah, well, you don’t need to know about that one. I think twice is good enough,” she finished with an embarrassed chuckle.
Although Finn was curious, he let it slide out of respect for her privacy.
“But enough about that,” she said hastily, focusing her gaze on him, “The point is, you’ve been hiding your problems from us. We’re your friends, Finn, and you should never have to deal with all this heavy stuff by yourself.”
He sheepishly looked away, scratching the back of his head, “I wasn’t...” he started, trailing off briefly, “I mean, I wasn’t trying to hide them.”
“Are you sure about that?” she asked, reminded of this so called ‘vault’ Jake had mentioned to her once.
“I...I dunno,” he followed up quickly with a response, “I don’t like wasting time worrying about things,” he said defensively, almost assertively, as if it were his final word on the matter.
Bubblegum kept a cool head, switching to a caring tone to assure him, “And that’s completely okay,” she responded, placing a friendly hand on his leg, “We all have our demons that we hide away, because we don’t want to worry our friends.”
Finn looked at her hand where it rested and then up to her as she was talking, “But sometimes it can be too much to handle, you know? We bottle these things up, not noticing the cracks because of the pressure of holding it all in. It adds up over time, and sooner or later, we break. Do you understand?”
Finn listened intently, following every word and comparing it to his own feelings, finding it to be an accurate summary of the past year. Billy’s death, his breakup with Flame Princess, his dad abandoning him, twice, losing an arm, betraying his sword, it all flashed through his mind as examples of containing the emotional backlash. She had pinpointed the source of his depression so accurately and thoroughly, he couldn’t help but ask, as he stared at her…
“Have you, have you been through this before?” he asked carefully.
She reeled back in surprise, stunned for a moment as he had seen through her words of wisdom. It took her a moment, but she recomposed herself with a curt cough.
“I mean, yeah, of course I have,” she answered with a cautious smile, “I told you I had heard Tripo Harmonia singing before.”
“Oh, right,” he looked away in embarrassment, “I guess we have been through a lot, huh?”
She patted him on the shoulder, “Of course, I’m really old so I have been through some nasty things,” her smile distracted from the scope of her words, but it fell as she gripped his shirt lightly, “But you, you’ve been through worse, way worse than any kid your age should.”
“I’m not a kid, princess,” he gently swatted her hand off with a smile, pep returning to his voice, “I’m sixteen, I ain’t got time to worry about those things.”
Bubblegum giggled, “Well, you’ve certainly grown up, I’ll give you that,” her smile fell as she put her hand on his back, “But still, I want you to promise me to be more open with your feelings.”
Before Finn could reply sarcastically, something like how all he feels is the need for adventure, the princess had scooted very close to him suddenly, her hands wrapped around his shoulders. The unexpected closeness accompanied by the familiar sweet smell of gum had him at a loss for words, but the princess had plenty to say.
“We still care about you, Finn,” she spoke into his hat, “I still care about you, no matter what happens. I still care when you get hurt, on the outside and on the inside.”
Her words resonated throughout their bodies, and Finn could only respond by hugging her back.
“I don’t ever wanna see you all messed up like this ever again, you hear me?” she sounded like she would start tearing up, Finn thought, but he said nothing as she continued, “I want to know, always, that you’re still alright. That you’re still my Finn the human, on the inside and out.”
Her grip tightened, her fingers clenched, she shuddered as it suddenly played the images of Finn disappearing from the world in her head. Though she could lose her kingdom, her life’s work, her own life, none of it compared to the haunting idea that she could lose him. The comfort that she would always have Finn by her side was one of the few things that kept her happy nowadays. Was it selfish? Was she denying repressed feelings? She wouldn’t know, she was always busy these days, but most importantly, she didn’t care. As long as Finn was here, healthy in body and in mind, she would find the answer soon enough.
“Of course I will, Bubblegum,” Finn answered in the gap between their hug, “I promise I’ll be alright.”
The sincerity of his words put her at ease, a weight lifting from her heart. And yet, it made her squeeze harder than before, because it was all she could do to assure herself that things would be alright.
“…can you lighten up, though?” Finn strained a little to say, “You’re squeezing really hard.”
“Oh. Sorry,” she released her arms from him, only to find that he still held onto her figure.
He looked up at her from the embrace and uttered, “I didn’t say stop hugging.”
Princess Bubblegum giggled to herself, realizing that it was just like him to appreciate these hugs, and complied. She hugged him again, her arms gentle but her heart a hundred percent in it. It was just now that she realized that Finn hadn’t bathed in quite a while, his smell faint but foul. But curiously, she didn’t care, having heard the whole story from Jake his battle with depression, thinking to herself that this was a smell she could get used to.
Where had that thought come from, she asked herself, eyes opened in surprise.
“Alright, Finn, had enough?” she asked.
“Just a minute,” he responded quickly.
Bubblegum sighed. ‘I’ll give you all the time you need, Finn.’
‘As long as you’re here,’ they both thought, ‘I’ll be okay.’

So, this is something I’ve been working about for some time, Role-Swapping AUs for Adventure Time - somewhat inspired by @fridjitzu‘s Reverseworld. This is the first one I’m showing, the PB-Finn, Simon-Marcy roleswap... let’s just call it the Bonnieverse (hopefully I’ll have time to post about the Marcyverse and the Simonverse sometime in the future)
More details about those versions of the characters under the cut
Bonnie Bubblegum: a young gum-blob girl found in the woods and raised by Bob and Ethel Raincorn. Nobody quite knows what she is or ever heard of other "candy people" like her, as far as anyone knows she's the first of her kind. Invents goofy stuff as a hobby or to help her at Adventures, but she's still young and inexperienced so those things are fairly basic and don't always turn out that well. While she's not a bad fighter with her crossbow, she prefers to defeat her enemies with diplomacy or a clever plan. In spite of her cheerful demeanor, she had a ruthless strike that tends to freak out the adults around her.
Lady Raincorn: Bonnie's adoptive sister, pretty much the same as her regular verse counterpart. Maybe she's a bit more of an overly nice pushover to provide more drama and to play off her more ruthless sister.
Prince Finn Martens: The young leader of the beachside and islands-based Human Kingdom (well, its more of a TRIBE, really, and it also has a lot of Hyoomans and mutants in it, but also some humans), Prince Finn used to enjoy being a thrill seeking adventurer when he was Bonnie's age - but ever since his mother, Queen Minerva, died of a plague - he had to step up and be more responsible as the ruler of the kingdom. He does try his best, even though he's still a bit of a violent, immature, fun-loving goofball at heart and not doing such a great job dealing with his mom's death. Might be a bit living vicariously through Bonnie's exploits. His steed is his adopted shapeshifting dog brother Jake Vampire Queen: Once Marceline Abadeer, pre-Mushroom War rock star who got afflicted with vampirism - Marceline found it extremely hard to resist her vampire urges (somewhat about trying to resist blood/red lust, somewhat about the natural urges to ACT like a classic movie vampire), which only gotten harder after the Mushroom War - when she started hunting down vampires on purpose to be strong enough to survive through the Apocalypse. Nowadays she has very little memories of the person who she once was and, as the last vampire left in Ooo, she mostly just go around tormenting people with what she considers to be "hilarious pranks" - with Prince Finn and Bonnie being favorite targets and compulsively following every vampire trope in the book. Too prideful to admit how lonely she is
Simon the Ice Wizard: a young child when the Mushroom War happened, Simon miraculously survived and was raised by Marceline Abadeer (AKA Vampire Queen). After she abandoned him to protect him from herself, he found himself under the icy wing of Patience St. Pim, the Ice Elemental - who made him her protege and turned him into a powerful immortal elemental wizard. All of those experiences and more made Simon on the one hand very protective and kind and on the other hand kinda obnoxiously clingy. Nowadays he's the biggest nerd in Ooo, mostly interested in playing the drums and collecting and cataloging pre-Mushroom War artifacts. He and Bonnie are very good friends because they're both huge geeks, though he's overprotective and doesn't feel comfortable with the idea of a young girl being the hero of the kingdom -which brings him to a lot of conflict with Prince Finn (as well as other more generic jock-nerd conflicts, they like teasing each other a lot). He has a fearsome reputation through the Land of Ooo, but it's just because of wacky misunderstanding and that he's bad at making friends
