Those who fall into the Mirror World may be unlucky enough to end up in the domain of the most corrupt leader. Noel Sheen (also known as The Announcer by Reflections), once a terrible man who lived in Casus Vallis, is known for his cutthroat, degrading, and filthy methods of maintaining power. In Casus, he was a bum with a drug addiction and fascination with building new technology, and upon discovering the potential of the Mirror World and its energy, used it to fuel his experimentations. When that wasn't enough, he made the difficult decision to leave his crimes behind and delve into the reflective pool in his laboratory, never turning back. Despite being here for a "short" period of time (about 30 years), he has gained a prolific reputation and enough power to overtake much of the land. Noel's main goal is to unite the Mirror World and the Real World, wanting his crimes and chaos to be commonplace. He craves power. He craves control. And to do that, he will stop anyone in his path.

For those who dedicate their life to Noel and his mission, they are blessed with the opportunity to sacrifice their Reflection to the Doluit Deam (though, it is unconfirmed if Noel truly does his actions for Her Grace or not). Not only is it a place for holy sacrifice, but is a place for those who dare to go against or disallow Noel's teachings. No one has come up from there, so it is assumed all who fall are dead.

╰┈➤[2] Sacrificial Cliff

Prior to being thrown in the cavern, the members of Noel's domain follow the rites of passage for the sacrifice. They will undergo a warm goodbye to their peers before being thrusted into the unknown. If you're unlucky enough not to be granted passage, you are simply ridiculed on the cliff before being kicked in.

A tall concrete fence that lines the whole college. It was built to provide distinction from Noel's grounds and that of commoners.

Where Noel and the heads of his domain teach followers the power of his doctrine. Upon discovering the Mirror World, Noel began gathering people and sharing with them what advancements could be made with the biproducts. In his many years in Casus Vallis, he sent several people into the world of Reflections. In his time in the Mirror World, he convinced many Reflections to follow his lead. The College of Unification preaches of that with the power and abnormal science of the Mirror World, and the normalcy and advancements of the Real World, we can create true harmony (or chaos) - all people would be their own Reflections, their true selves, and reach pique magical performance. Noel acts as headmaster, considering it is his genius and use his technological findings that made the Mirror World more accessible to Casus Vallis. First, he must gather as many followers as he can. The more people on his side, the better.

A tall, looming entrance that blocks people from entering the College of Unification. Only students, those of high authority, or those of some use to Noel may enter.

╰┈➤[6] Fountain of Doluit Deam

A fountain with a skull replicating the Doluit Deam's. It dispenses Mirror Fluid from it's eyes and mouth, to signify her sacrifice to ensure stability through the whole of Casus Vallis and the Mirror World.

The commoner Reflections will often sell their wares here; despite being a land of dismal magic, people still have to find a way to survive. This includes selling mirrored produce, clothing, weapons, tools, essentials, and many other necessities.

For those who awaken their true power, they attend the Powers Nursery. Despite its name, it isn't a space exclusively for kids. It is there to nurse newcomers or new followers of Noel's practices and educate them on the basics of the world. They will learn to harness their inner power and use to to protect Noel or fight against those who oppose him.

A place of miscellaneous wires, tech, and lab testing equipment. Was once a place of use, now sits uncontrollable. At some point, Noel used it to study the effects of the Mirror World and the 'magic' it had, but those tests quickly turned volatile. The office now lays dormant, emanating a fearful energy. Anyone who has gone in there hasn't come out.

A place where announcements and performances are held. It is quite like what people would see in Casus Vallis. It isn't used much, but sometimes if there is important domain-focused meetings.

A rotten, veiny, pulsating mass of flesh that continues to survive. It sucks out the energy of The Shrine of Doluit Deam and Neighbourhood Head. It is said to be the only living piece of the Doluit Deam left, though it is up for debate.

In Casus Vallis, The Church of Doluit Deam holds religious practices. In the Mirror World, it is much darker - all offerings provided from the church in the real world will then provide strength and nourishment to The Tumor in the Mirror World. It has become a shrine to watch in amazement as The Tumor feeds on whatever is provided to it.

When Noel is busy, all concerns are brought to the Neighbourhood Head. Much like City Hall on the Casus Vallis side, it acts as a place for finding your way around the area and educating you on its government. It also holds some Reflection-specific artefacts for the newcomers to learn.

For Reflections who want to dedicate themselves to magics and theory, ways to uncover history, and find the way to unite worlds. Often compared to witches or mages.

╰┈➤[15] Newcomer Boarding

After newcomers and new followers graduate from the nursery, they come here. This is where they learn the basics of the Mirror World, it's assumed conception, and give their thanks to Doluit Deam.

For Reflections who want to dedicate themselves to protecting Noel and relying on their physical magic. Often compared to soldiers or guards.

╰┈➤[17] Rotten Forest (Mirror Pool)

Rotten, decaying trees surrounding a Mirror Pool. Reflections that fall here can see the town pretty close by, but often go insane and instead wander the forest for ages before finally reaching civilization.

For Reflections who use their magic to channel into melee and weaponry. If you have experience with swords in the real world, you may use your power to accentuate the weapons.

Grounds for Fighting, controlled by Noel. Reflections will offer themselves to fight against creatures imbued with magic. Sometimes, Reflections are forced to fight. Often ends in bloodshed. It is mostly a way for Noel to get sick entertainment.

For Reflections who use their magic in more grandiose ways, affecting the area around them more outwardly. Can still channel their powers into tools, but the magic will often shoot out from the tool.

Reflections who have harnessed their power are asked to imbue whatever their main power is into creatures to prepare them for fighting. For example: if someone contains the power of ice, they will use ice to provide magic to the creatures, causing them to go mad and grow into true monsters.

Where Reflections and Noel's followers find their creatures. Often it is animals that have fallen into a Mirror Pool and are shoved down here for collection later.

Was once a factory much like the one in Casus Vallis - used wood from the Mirror World forests to create goods, furniture, and necessities. Unfortunately, the trees are mostly rotted and unfit for material, so the factory went mostly unused. It is one of the few buildings in the area that is a carbon copy of what is found in Casus.

A subsequent investigation by Andrew Feinstein, a global expert on the arms industry, who observed the sales video pitch in Paris, revealed that innocent Palestinians, including women and children, were killed during the drone attack that Elbit showcased at the Paris Air Show. Feinstein told Loewenstein, “This was my introduction to the Israeli arms industry and the way it markets itself. No other arms-producing country would dare show actual footage like that.” As evidenced by the construction of surveillance towers in Tohono O’odham lands, Elbit’s work extends beyond the bounds of war, but the lines between war-making, surveillance and what governments call “security” are murky, at best. ♠ recently (re-)took up knitting, and have been starting off with some simple projects whilst bingeing old episodes of star trek: deep space nine. a friend recently told me about scrap, a magical little thrift market for craft supplies in san francisco, and i managed to get my hands on new knitting needles as well as an absolute glut of high-quality yarn for a sum total of roughly ten dollars. among the skeins was a bright red that was too striking not to use immediately, and so it became a cozy little garter stitch scarf ✨

♠ spent the end of november at shasta lake, featuring a roadside diner with the best thanksgiving turkey i've ever tasted and many a breathtaking snow hike ❄️

♠ after a somewhat bumpy and directionless spell, the past several months have seen my phd research progressing phenomenally well, to the point where i find myself having to dispel a recurring sense that the other shoe might drop at any moment. a side project that i'd originally kept a secret from my advisor has yielded extremely promising results, and when i finally shared those results with him it was so very heartening to see how quickly his skepticism melted into genuine enthusiasm and supportiveness :] i also came up with a fresh, exciting (!) batch of ideas for how to progress with my main project and i am absolutely itching to get back to the lab this monday to start pursuing them; if they pan out, it could illuminate a whole new paradigm for treating previously intractable cancers 💓

Most ingredients in alchemy usually come from ores and liquid ingredients formed by chemistry methods. Stuff like Tuttia, Bismuth, all that shindigs-

So while plant life can be useful for alchemy, not everyone recognizes its utility straight away, and provide for the common plants for arrangements rather than scientific inventory

I can imagine that you'd be a normal gardener at first but very passionate of their properties.

Might be a Dendro vision wielder too, the Dendro archon loves those who wield the power of knowledge, more so when they use it on nature.

You carry with you a lil book about all the plants and shrubs that you've personally cared for, down to their finest detail and properties. But you're a gardener, not a master of Alchemy, so some parts of the notes you couldn't really figure out yourself.

The first time you met Albedo, he was around a year into staying in Mondstadt. He was forced to go out and take a breather because of his workaholic schedule, and instead of relaxing in a bath, he ended up drifting to the market area to get more ingredients local to Mond.

Unlike the other flower stalls, he was pulled into yours because of the wide variety of your wares. Roots, grasses, shoots, plants you couldn't just find outside of the walls.

You were tending to your mini greenhouse in the back and left your botania book on the shelf outside, and this LIL SHI- Albedo, having no proper training for social interactions, straight up just opened that shit and read it all.

Flustered, confused and alarmed, Albedo tried his best to quickly reason with your garden-spade-wielding self. And with his pretty boy self, you managed to calm down and listen.

Your greenhouse in the Knight of Favonius HQ is most definitely connected to Albedo's laboratory! And very spacious too.

More than one occasion, you've seen the Chief Alchemist casually sneaking around the area, plucking a Flaming Flower or scraping dandelion seeds from the pot while you were busy tending to other flowers on the other side of your area.

65% of the time you caught him red-handed and you will be met with the rare sight of a fumbling, queasy Albedo.

The atmosphere of your work area is significantly different from his own messy laboratory. The glass walls and roof that lets in just the right amount of sunlight, with a perfect view of the scenic landscape of Mondstadt and beyond.

When Albedo reaches a wall on his research, he picks up his sketchbook and just- waltz in to your workshop through the door connecting your workspaces.

The fresh air, the soft kiss of the sun, your humming, it was all a symphony of heaven concocted just for him.

He’ll find himself sketching your babies, dozen or more times you are included.

Your notebook’s illustrations are mostly courtesy of him, and he greatly basks in your pure admiration of his drawing.

To help him focus, you once took on the great task of organizing his laboratory, to no avail. Even if you manage to fix and align his inventory, it’s gonna go back to chaos after three days minimum.

It’s okay tho, it’s normal for him, more excuse to visit you-

Guilty, he wants your spacious and refreshing greenhouse and often asks for a redesign of his laboratory to share similar workspace with you.

Acting Grand Master Jean had to decline this idea just because it costs more than a million mora.

Albedo is both considerate and inconsiderate unconsciously : While he may run off to experiment on the traveler and leave you scouting the area yourself, he doesn’t willingly set you on fire from the inside.

Every time he comes back to camp after finishing the step by step experiment with/on the Traveler, he makes sure to check up on how you are doing.

TAKE NOTE: Our prince is very occupied and busy with his own work a lot, so he’s never really seen you in action when you go out to get the the materials he needs-

So he is purely horrified when he saw you hanging off the cliff with nothing but a rope around you to keep you safe, carefully investigating a petrified tree branch up close.

Heckleport lore post

Heckleport is a fairly robust town in the kingdom of Ahlmirth, which neighbours the castle grounds of the royal court. Known most of all for its fishing markets, the town’s main trading comes from that industry. Most consider Heckleport to be a pleasant rest-stop, full of markets (not just for seafood) and hospitality. Rumours flit about of suspicious activity, as they do, but no-one pays them much mind beyond local superstition.

Chantilly - Chantilly’s family has owned a business in Heckleport for years, selling a variety of different herbs and teas. Chantilly is the next in line to take over running the shop, and she does so with great dedication and enjoyment. Although she knows she cannot compete with the fish markets, she doesn’t want to, and doesn’t see their wares as anything to compare. Her most rowdy customer has been a rodeo clown, and although it took some time to get used to her, Chantilly reluctantly enjoys her company.

Sir Coyling - Coyling owns both Heckleport’s ship building company and, by extension, most of the boats in the town’s harbour. For this reason, Sir Coyling is a very comfortable dragon. He is not particularly bright, but he is endearingly soft-hearted and friendly.

Honeyrot and Blight - Young siblings originally bred for the coliseum but abandoned, Honeyrot and Blight have been hiding in Heckleport’s sewer system. They are the source of the rumour that a monster is living in Heckleport’s sewers, stealing food and scaring away anyone who comes near. Honeyrot has internalised the belief that she will never be seen as anything but an abomination, and Blight is determined to protect himself and his sister from anyone who may wish to hurt them. The siblings have recently been taken in by a doctor to hide in her office and laboratory.

Rodeo - A rodeo clown whose circus has recently disbanded, Rodeo chooses to take it in stride instead of letting it get her down. She’s accepting hirings from wherever they comes from, whether that be for a birthday party or for a coliseum opening act. Rodeo says her original plan was just to pass through Heckleport, but something - or someone - has caused her to ‘pass through’ for some time now.

Dr. Slater - The court advisor of King Pathogos of Ahlmirth, Dr. Slater is a talented surgeon, renowned for her abilities grafting tissue. There are some mixed opinions from those who have met her in person, but most describe her as chipper and clever. Although she lives in the castle, Slater has set up a second laboratory in Heckleport where she can work away from prying eyes.

  Bitcoin sees $50,000 less than a month after the price of BTC broke its 2017 record.

Bitcoin is showing signs of a new rally after passing the $40,000 resistance zone, fueling hopes for a new record.

This week, a new study looked at Musk’s tweet six times about BTC or DOGE, and concluded that his comments caused price spikes and a “significant increase” in trading volume.

But an article in the Blockchain Research Lab warns, “While Musk’s behavior and communications may be considered positive or fun (and thus perhaps uncritical), similar studies have already shown that negative tweets can also have a negative impact on financial results.”

The rage to win: XRP price drops 50% after reaching its highest level in two weeks

XRP was the subject of a commercial frenzy last week, with an 86% breakthrough after it became the new focal point of r/Satoshistreetbets, a spin-off of r/Wallstreetbets.

The pump came while XRP’s legal troubles showed no sign of stopping, and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) confronted Ripple later this month.

PayPal offers encrypted payments to merchants, limited exchanges on Venmo

PayPal revealed that its crypto commerce service has “exceeded expectations” since its limited launch in the United States.

The payments giant now plans to focus on encrypted, chain and digital currencies in 2021, with a “significant” investment in the new entity. According to the company, those who bought Bitcoin ended up putting twice as much money into the system as before.

After an “excellent response,” CEO Dan Schulman said that crypto will be offered as a funding source later this quarter when users store at one of PayPal’s 29 million merchants, and that a “full roadmap” of new services will follow.

In November, PayPal took a big step toward digital assets by allowing its U.S. users to buy cryptocurrencies directly through the application. US-based customers are limited to $20,000 per week. Since then, the volume of cryptocurrency transactions on the platform has reached record levels, peaking on January 11 with $242 million in transactions.

Predictions for the week

  The CIO of BlockTower Capital estimates that there will be another 9 to 22 months of “bull run” in cryptocurrency.

With the new optimism surrounding the operation of Bitcoin, the question inevitably arises: how long will the bull last?

According to Ari Paul, Blocktower Capital’s Chief Information Officer, we have at least nine more months.
