I'd thought I remembered, in the Knights of Requital planning, someone mentioning the gala being moved, because it gave the Nein an extra day to prep, and Dolan did specify that it had been unexpectedly pushed back a day, but doesn't suggest he knows why. (It's not clear to me based on the conversation when this change happened—it's possible Dolan has simply heard this update recently, but it also might've been a last minute change.) I was wondering because the timing of the Zauberspire attack coinciding with the gala seemed odd.
It is very narratively convenient, of course, and certainly the Kryn spies could've been using it for the same reason that the Knights of Requital were—important figures of the city were distracted and otherwise occupied, and Thuron does give an indication that Ulog was feeding them information as well, so he certainly could've suggested that timing to both.
But two things about the attack struck me: first, that the Zauberspire does not seem to be very far from where the gala is held, which makes it less of a distraction and more of a liability for covert military operations; and second, the Assembly reacts instantly. Moreover, Trent is already there, though he normally resides in Rexxentrum. He doesn't exactly seem the type to show up for annual holiday festivities, given he doesn't stand to gain much if anything from hobnobbing with a bunch of regional socialites, and Ludinus later suggests he is not exactly being dispatched to events as a diplomatic entity. Of course he can be in another city quite quickly, but this all happens so quickly that I find it unlikely that there would've been time to inform someone in another city prior to apprehending the infiltrators, given the immediacy with which the mages respond.
The point being, I think they were warned.

As a survivor of abuse I relate to Machete so much. I've always felt unclean for no reason except being told I was unclean, and it made me feel worthless or revolting by default. Like, no matter what I did I would be filthy and unpleasant to be around.
Seeing that he can be loved, makes me feel like maybe I could be loved too.

I know the Bible Says lying is a sin, but what about scenarios where lying is the morally right thing to do, such as hiding Jews and other groups in Europe being targeted by the Nazis during World War II?
Interesting question! Lying is a sin. The Bible is very clear about that. However, I think the point (in this specific sort of scenario you've laid out) is not about what you do, but who you are - as in, why are you lying? Do your motives match up with what the Bible says is right or not? God cares about your heart. (He loves you!) The sort of "lying" you're talking about is done in order to protect those weaker than yourselves, and to keep evil from harming innocent people, all of which is biblical. If what you're doing is aligned with Scripture, you're not sinning. You're doing what's right and correct - no easy task. The teachers who tell active shooters that their kids are in another room, not in the closet behind them, are not sinning. They're protecting the students entrusted to them. Rahab was not sinning when she told the soldiers that Joshua's spies had gone away, and in reality they were hidden on her roof. She was protecting them, because she knew that Yaweh, the only God, in authority over all things, had given her native land over to them, and that that was His will. The people hiding Jews and other groups from the Nazis during WWII were protecting those weaker than themselves from people who meant to do them objective harm, out of evil intentions, and that protection was not sin. It's a complicated question, but the answer is simpler than most people want you to believe: is the reason behind what you're doing in line with what God's word says? If not, don't do it. If so, do it.

Um so I just watched all of Panic (2021) and I knew damn well this show was already cancelled when I watched it but GOD I’m still upset about it. It’s actually really good! I am coming from a place of loving “teen dark drama mystery” type shows but this one was actually really well done!
If you also like that sort of genre I highly suggest watching it
