Bio: Born as an only child in a small town, Zoey always had a hard time making friends. No matter of sweet and kind she was, her timid nature always got the best of her, making her doubt her every action and back down from certain events and activities.  Due to this, she missed on a lot of things that most kids experienced while they were young, and thus decided to start working on her self-esteem when she was 11.

Zoey made progress in baby steps until she was 16, when she saw an opportunity to audition for a new season of Total Drama. She’d watched the previous three seasons and was a fan of the challenges and most of the contestants -- she thought, in a way, that putting herself in a challenging and demanding scenario would make her stop doubting herself so often, take more risks and believe in herself.

In a way, it did. She did discover a new side of herself and was able to show just how skilled she could be, it just so happened to occur late in the game, after her drama with Mike came to an end in Revenge of the Island. So when Zoey was given the change to return for the next season, All-Stars, she accepted, now more determined than ever to prove herself.

Note: Follows canon events but also applies personal headcanons a lot.

Cold Blood Samurai #2 Action Lab Entertainment 2019 Written by Massimo Rosi Illustrated by Ludovica Ceregatti Coloured by Renato Stevanato Lettered by Mattia Gentili     The dark past of the Gaijin Salamander is facing him one last time. A group of Crab bandits is hiding in the foggy mountains, attacking the villages nearby. Some frog villagers ask desperately for the mighty Gaijin sword-master to help them. In the meantime, the civil war between the last samurais, headed by Swollen-Cheeks, and the emperor army, begins.     Last issue took the world by storm and it showed us a respect, admiration and love for a place and a genre many in the west know nothing about. Not only was the writing superbly done but the interiors were simply beautiful in every way possible. With a debut that strong my own expectations for this second issue were extremely high. Without exaggeration every time a new issue or story comes out from Massimo he sets a new standard for himself and I wonder how long this can continue. Fortunately it looks like he could fly me to the moon, let me play among the stars, let me see what spring is like on a Jupiter and Mars. Translation even the moon is too close a destination for how long he can continue this.     The story of the Gaijin’s past comes to light as he travels with those seeking his help. While he doesn’t feel as if it is his place and the memory of his one true love is racing through his thoughts he learns something he hadn’t anticipated. I often say that there are no coincidences in life and it seems like fate has stepped in to give him the guidance he looks for. I love this Gaijin Salamander who has no name. He is as complex an individual as you will ever encounter and he makes the perfect hero for an epic such as this. Love, loss, anger and hatred all rage across him and his face at times and quite honestly make him much more human than many people I currently know. The way that Massimo layers him and this story makes me want to weep and then shout in victory as he draws the reader into the story and gets you to connect with this man to the very core of your being.     Ludovica and Renato continue to impress with their work on the interior artwork here. The emotion that Massimo infuses into the character is masterfully brought to life in how we see the eyes of this man. The uniqueness in the pattern that is Aiko’s skin, the hardness that are the gnarled shell gang and the innocence of the frogs shining through their visage are what makes the book that much more romanticised than I had thought possible. The linework is exquisite and the way it is manipulated and worked so it coaxes this incredible attention to detail is a thing of beauty.     The utilisation of the page layouts and how we see the angles and perspective in the panels show us this stupendous eye for storytelling. How backgrounds are utilised enhance the moments and bring this sense of size and scope to this world. The grandeur of what we see in the imagery whether it be the soft petals falling from trees or the landscape where their harvest is grown all this is impeccably done. The colour work too have these distinctive hues in them and show how colour gradation, shading and shadows can truly change how you feel when viewing the moments. Also that frog warrior we see with that circular pattern in his kimono is powerful to see for reasons known only to those who view it. ​     The war that is coming or as it is already upon them will have to deal with this Gaijin. He has searched for peace and has yet to find it though with the events of this issue he now believes that is a distinct possibility. He fights with honour, for the little guy who cannot stand up for themselves and in these lizard folk he will find they fight for greed and to gain power. I don’t know how this is going to end and in many stories such as this they end in heartbreak and pain, I don’t know if I can face it again, can’t stop now, I’ve travelled so far, to change this lonely life. Regardless I will be here every step of the way.
