Can I ask how Vasco reacted to hearing about Machete’s assassination? :o did he put on a brave face? Was he inconsolable? Does he imagine that if he were there, he could’ve done something (even if that isn’t true? I imagine it would be tortuous mentally and emotionally for him, poor lad

He most likely went through a mental breakdown, followed by years of paralyzing grief and depression. Vasco had proven to be outstandingly resilient and optimistic in adversity, putting on a brave face was his second nature. But this was his final 'break the unbreakable' moment. He turned withdrawn and apathetic. He had never lost anyone this abruptly before, and he became visibly paranoid about the safety and health of his family while failing to look after his own wellbeing.

Of course he kept rewinding the events in his head and second-guessing himself about whether he could've prevented this outcome somehow, even when everyone who knew about his situation kept telling him there was no reason for him to blame himself for it. He struggled with the suddenness of it, and the lack of closure, and couldn't get over thinking how the love of his life had died alone, surprised, scared and in pain, and that there was absolutely nothing he could do to remedy that. Ludovica's support was invaluable to him. Since he couldn't mourn openly she was one of the few people who were there for him.

Eventually he came to terms with what had happened and learned to live with it, and even though he slowly regained his good-humoured personality, he never fully recovered back to his previous self.

How would the ROs and MC celebrate New Year after they are married?

Cassandra: Would maybe host a small gathering of friends and family to celebrate the hope of new beginnings, for the new year. Since there are no countdown, new year celebrations in Castellio are treated kinda like a Mexican Christmas. They throw the party on the new year's eve and their triumphant moment is when the sun rises, commemorating the official start of the new year.

Valeria: Big village party until the sun rises, she works hard the whole week prior to bake as many treats for the festival. Loud music all night and she is so very excited to dance the night away! Hopefully MC will dance with her as well, is not then she will dance a bit with her family before coming to sit with MC and hand feed them all the treats she forbade them from trying prior to the party.

Tomás: Very private man this one, he was never much of a party person and would much prefer to just stay at home even when he always gets an invitation to attend some noble's celebration of the event. He would actually offer to set up a cute picnic on the roof of the house for you two, so that way you guys can snuggle up close in a thick blanket and talk quietly in candle light all night long, until sunrise. But if MC really wants to go party he would tolerate going to one for your sake. But he is dragging you home as soon as you get drunk or if he gets bad vibes from the other guests. He will make it up to you later.

Ludovica: Hosts a small morning party at the Villa with select few friends, in Romandi new year's is celebrated in the coming morning where they all wake up a few hours before sunrise. She would invite her servants to bring their families to celebrate together, she would also include MC heavily on the party planning. Her only condition being that it not be too big or loud of a gathering.

Aurelio: You already know. Big, ass, party. People come over before sunrise and stay all day long, the man loves the lifestyle and also just happens to be able to make good connections during these parties. You just gotta love when you get some rich merchant drunk and they loudly give their word to donate a bunch of their services to charity or give Aurelio's business a good discount. He would of course make some accommodations if MC doesn't like parties, he would set a party endtime or promise a small private celebration beforehand for just the two of you.

Elio: Not a huge party person but would be okay going to Aurelio's annual one if MC wants to go, luckily he gets an invitation every year. He just never goes. He would also be very happy to just have a private celebration between the two of you, he could cook you something and you two can cuddle up at home till sunrise.

Hmmh, I don't know if Vasco would be into clubbing either. He's without a doubt a lot more extroverted than Machete and typically handles social events pretty well. But just because he's easy to get along with and generally likes people doesn't mean he wants to be surrounded by strangers 24/7. I think he thrives when he has his core group of friends and family within arm's reach. He likes company but more often than not his favorite pastimes are pretty chill and casual. The older he gets, the less he appreciates loud and high-energy environments.

Vasco is passably outdoorsy, and he loves to relax with some low-stakes hiking, walking and occasional horseback riding. He can go alone and enjoy the peace and quiet just fine, but ideally he likes to share these activities with someone. Machete enjoys getting a little bit of fresh air, but he doesn't do anything too extreme and prefers to leave any horses out of it (still scared of horses, as you may remember). As for dates, they aren't terribly adventurous. Machete is into museums and art galleries and local history, and Vasco gets more out of the experience when he's with him. Vasco loves long drives and has a snazzy car so I'd imagine they do little daytrips pretty often and longer roadtrips when they have a bit more time in their hands. They have a handful of trusty bistros and cafés that they tend to revisit, and every now and then try new ones. Maybe throw in an occasional picnic in there too. Sometimes they team up with Ludovica and her parner, or one of their siblings. But a lot of the time they're happy just staying at home and doing their own thing, together or separately but in close proximity. They don't necessarily have to go out to have quality time.

Edit: This ask low key reminds me of the Sinbad Magi anime where he sleeps next to princess Kougyoku by accident and everyone thought he slept with her but literally nothing happened. lol 😂

Cassandra: I am going to say that she was hosting a party and things were getting late but MC was still very awake so she left things to MC and went to bed. Only for somebody to channel their inner mexican childhood and find some random room to sleep in like they own the house. Dude really just let himself into their bed and passed out next to her, she probably felt the bed dip but thought it was MC and brushed it off. Until she turned around to hug MC and saw somebody else and lost her shit. Screaming and yeeting that man off the bed, with him being so terrified he ran to the balcony and jumped into the bushes to get away.

Valeria: I'm going to say with her this was a prank from MC and her brothers so when MC and her were getting ready for bed, MC goes to the bathroom and tells her to go to sleep while they shower. She gets some rest and feels when the bed dips but the lights are off so she doesn't see anything. She hugs the person next to her and immediately smells somebody else, she squints and asks for MC as she reaches for the lamp next to her. When the light comes on and she sees her twin Marcos resting on the bed blowing her kisses she cusses him out and kicks him off the bed. Cracking up the rest of her brothers and MC, after the immediate irritation blows over she laughs too and admits it was a good prank.

Tomás: Ummm, I am going to say he was at some event with MC and they rested up at a nearby hotel. At the party there was a foreign lady who was thirsting over him but he kept blowing her off, which in terms made her more desperate for him. So when you both got back to the hotel after the party MC said they were going to shower and he got in bed to sleep. He heard the water turn off but didn't know MC was taking their time getting dressed, he heard a door open and then someone climb in bed next to him. He turned over to embrace MC and smelled a odd perfume that MC has never worn but he ignored it. It wasn't until MC turned on the light and he looked up confused at them, that he turned his head to see the lady and he;

flipped. the. hell. out.

Poor man was screaming, utterly terrified and after MC drags her out of the room he is swearing up and down he had no idea it was someone other than MC. Please reassure him that you believe him, he couldn't bear the thought of MC thinking he would ever cheat on them.

I'm going to say she attended one of Aurelio's parties with MC and it got dark before they realized it. Aurelio not wanting to send you guys back home in the dark he lets you spend the night in a borrowed room in his mansion. They go to bed together but at some point in the night MC goes to get some water from the kitchens and she stays awake in the dark waiting for them to get back. Some other house guest mistakes the room for their own and goes to bed, she just feels that something is off and says MC's name and the dude yells because she scared him and Vica screams because he scared her. Aurelio and MC sort everything out and while Aurelio escorts the dude back to his room Mc is going to have to calm her down and figure out how to get her back to sleep.

Aurelio: Moron probably threw a party and got too drunk and mistook a guest room for his own. Got in bed sleep there until morning and when someone kept poking his nose and didn't respond to MC's name when he told them to stop he opened his eyes and saw a very unamused noble women.

Aurelio: ... Good morning Signora Moretti.

Signora Moretti: Signore Aurelio. Got lost?

Aurelio: Yeah... so, how did you sleep last night?

Signora Moretti: Get out.

Aurelio: I mean this is technically my house-

Elio channels his inner child and got sleepy during a late party and sleep in a random room. A nobleman got into bed with him thinking he was his wife and later when his actual wife turned on the light and both men sat up from under the covers chaos ensues.

"I knew you were gay!"

"I knew it! The way you always looked at your best friend and always prefered spending so much more time with him rather than your own wife!"
