I can’t BELIEVE they’ve gone back to Porky living in a normal house and Daffy living in his bathtub. I have held “Porky & Daffy” in my heart for all these years as an ideal of portrayal. This is the happiest day of my life
Tumblr media
SO NICE I'M POSTING THIS TWICE FOR CONTEXT just because i want to look at it again. ughhhhhhh the little bird on Porky's bedpost one of the photos released also has another, DIFFERENT little bird. if he's like Snow White or something i will cry. just don't let him around any dogs because he'll drop them from staircases or encourage them to jump off bridges
I MEANT TO ANSWER THIS WAY EARLIER, BUT IT WORKS OUT BECAUSE LOOK AT WHAT THE WARNER DEUTSCHLAND CHANNEL JUST POSTED TODAY:
youtube
I'M SO HAPPY TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO UGHGHGHGGHHG!!!! IT IS SUCH A GOOD PORTRAYAL ISN'T IT.. when LTC first came out i was very confident the opening to Firehouse Frenzy was a reference as well
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'M. SO. EXCITED. i know this needs to speculation like yeah no DUH. BUT AHHHHHHH. UGHHHHH I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE. i'm so excited to see what other homages to other shorts are in store. I'M SO EXCITED I CAN'T ARTICULATE MYSELF. i was gonna have some big eloquent explanation about how much i love Porky & Daffy (the characters too) but my words are stopping short because i literally cannot focus because i am just SHROUDED WITH EXCITEMENTTTTTT CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING!
since i am in a CARTOON SHARING MOOD, here is the opening to Porky & Daffy for those who have never seen it because i have no idea when else i would post the entire opening. it's so endearing!!! look at the shaky camera truck-in and dissolve to the house... back when they were still struggling with how to do diagonal camera pans and double exposure effects.. :'))) i miss reviewing this era of cartoons profusely
i have a deep fondness for stuff like the shot of Porky grabbing the paper, Clampett seemed to have a similar fondness of starting shorts out of this era with close shots like that (Porky's Party opens on a very synonymous shot of Porky lighting the candles on the cake). Bobe Cannon's animation of Porky is adorable. some really smooth and hypnotic Chuck Jones animation of Daffy boxing with the pillows (in Chuck's last short working for Clampett!). this entire exchange is adorable. i am so excited for anything that even entertains the idea of modeling itself after this. i'm so excited.

a very long messy review of link click (season 2)
alright so reading through a bunch of (mostly negative) reviews of the season thus far i've come to my own conclusions over how this season felt, and i really feel like addressing them since i personally feel like it deserves recognition (and rightful criticism) within certain aspects. really interested in everyone's takes so lmk whatever you think about all these aspects i'm about to gloss over.
Tumblr media
NOTE ; i'm not going to be talking about the art direction or OSTs . i believe those have been nothing short of phenomenal and i feel like we can all universally agree over that
1) tonal shift : from a more emotionally driven s1, coupled with sprinkles of slice of life moments, we turn to a mostly thriller/mystery plot line. personally, i've always seen this coming. the tonal shift really didn't take me by surprise. with the lg stabbing at the end of season 1 it almost seemed inevitable that the more light hearted aspects of the first season weren't going to happen. more importantly, it was very clear that there was always a higher presence to fight. link click was always meant to be a thriller, this was always the plan, and so i suppose logically i assumed the second season would follow that path. i understand how people might've felt disappointed, or 'robbed', but i don't think the shift was all that shocking quite honestly, it was always set up. link click was never light hearted, even at s1.
the more shocking shift has to be the shift from an emotional, to suspenseful change in writing. the emotional writing in link click has always been the best part of the show and that hasn't changed, the emotionally driven plot lines of s2 (chen bin, ltc/ltx) have been written very well. the suspenseful writing also works. replaces the tear jerkers with an unsettling anxiety, and it's executed relatively well. you can clearly tell that the crew's been experimenting quite a lot with this season, and yes, that's usually what season 2 is for.
2) pacing : now i totally get the criticism in this aspect. in my opinion, the weakest part of s2's been the pacing. with overly drawn out fight scenes, and unnecessarily long recaps, i think the issue has to do with the fact that lc just has a LOT to address, and so it makes us feel less inclined to sit through longer scenes that don't directly advance the plot.
obviously i get that the fight scenes show off a lot of the animation budget #tm and they do look great but the fact that we had way too much time dedicated to a five minute long fighting cutscene in the FIRST episode just made me feel impatient.
3) red herring endings: alright this might be an unorthodox opinion but, aren't red herring cliff hangers a norm in general with these kinds of shows lol. idk i've come to expect the total opposite every time so it doesn't really bother me i guess i'm just used to the medium. not really a lc problem it's a story telling problem in general but that's just marketing i don't know what else to say.
it'd be nice if they followed through but some part of me thinks they're pulling a whole boy who cried wolf situation, eventually they'll pull the trigger when we don't really expect it.
4) shipping/ main trio reconciliations : it's a really serious ongoing situation. i kind of get why the main trio/shiguang don't get a chance to talk things over amongst themselves, it just isn't the time. keep in mind everything that's happening rn is happening continuously, there are no gaps within the days or anything, kind of makes sense that they don't really talk about it. they probably will get to once it's all over, which might be well into s3. again, this was always meant to be a thriller more than it was trio focused. also idk about you guys but i think we actually did get a lot of sweet moments within the trio, cxs and lg, even the sibling dynamic with ql and cxs were really lovely this season.
5) the women: okay i REALLY don't understand the problem here. the women are written well. ql is written FANTASTICALLY and all side characters like ltx and that one red eyed lady i'm forgetting the name of were great too. hell even chen bin's wife was great. i think for a donghua/anime where women are usually given dirt in terms of actually strong writing, lc has always been very solid. their lives do not revolve around the men in the show it just happens to be that men are a part of their lives. they have very distinct personalities and aren't treated like weird objects to gaze at (what a bar lol) but yes i do think the women are written quite dimensionally.
6) unanswered questions : when have linear shows ever answered questions (especially mc based) in season 2?? when has season 2 EVER tied loose ends? when it comes to linear television, season 2's purpose almost always build towards a greater evil/climax. there's a reason why season 2 hasn't answered questions we've had, season 2s in most shows rarely ever do. from what i can tell, with a confirmed s3, i've always expected s2 to simply do its job as a second season and further raise stakes and raise even more questions. i do get the frustration, i get the lack of any backstory, but i want to refrain from making any actual comments over that till every episode's aired ahah, however, im not too mad at it. i just think this show's ride is currently still at an increasing accelerated pace (guys i'm sorry i study physics), things will only be explained once we've once hit the climactic point or go downhill right after. time will tell i guess
Conclusion
overall, i think this season was actually pretty solid. s1 set a very unrealistically high bar, as s1 in my opinion is one of the best seasons in television period. but s2 and s1 shouldn't be compared in the same way, their tone is quite different, and needs to be analysed individually instead. i'll make a complete review once the season is over, but honestly i've come to enjoy the season most when i stop expecting too much out of it. i think people had way too many things they've expected from s2, that were bound to simply never happen.
that said, i do hope the crew takes the valid criticism regarding the pacing (and ig the character focus?) into consideration and implements it well into s3. it's worth noting that i believe nothing was meant to be complete with s2 in the first place.
i've really enjoyed this season, and i'm beyond ecstatic to rewatch it all once it's done airing, in order to properly take it all in. it's had its flaws, more than s1 has had (let's be real s1 had little to none). but that's bound to happen to shows when they head down their linear routes. currently sitting at a 7/10

A checklist
Discontinue landline service - I only kept the number for Mom when her memory got glitchy.
Finalize my burial arrangements just in case - it will ease my mind to have that handled. I already prepaid my cremation.
Do the Big Out. Downsizing is very much on my mind. Mom was a borderline hoarder. I was told time and time again how ungrateful I was, so it was hard for me to de-stuff my space. I want to go extreme and do Swedish Death Cleaning.
Review life insurance and change beneficiaries. Get non-taxable long-term care insurance - premium refund and death benefit. Some long-term care benefits are taxable as income, and some have premiums that have tax credits.
Set up a trust account to handle health and LTC premiums.
I found out first-hand the value of health insurance when I turned up with cancer. I will have to maintain this policy until I am eligible for MediCare - if I live that long. LTC insurance should cost me about $3k per year in premiums, but when you consider that Mom's care ran about $12k per month? Not that much.

Urgent: Had top surgery 2018 with Mr Berry and had bad results. Was meant to be having the surgery done again with Mr Di Taranto at LTC, I checked him out and met with him was quite comfortable with him doing the surgery. Due to LTC closing down my appointment was moved to a new hospital and I'd initially been told nothing would change (surgeon would stay the same). Now they have said surgery will be with Mr Inglefield but I'm seeing bad reviews and TERFs views. Anyone have experience with him?
Can any of our followers offer their experience with Mr Inglefield?

I go back and forth on this a lot because anyone who reads my stuff? A+ in my book, you guys rock just for being here and putting up with my bullshit and taking the time out of your busy days to read through some silly little fic that I've posted.
I don't expect to be famous or even tumblr famous whatever that means. And truly, it isn't about the notes for me. They could take away the notes counter tomorrow and I'd be fine with it.
For me, it's about two things: showing appreciation and the function of this website.
I'll start with function because it's a little easier to talk about and a lot less controversial.
Tumblr, unlike literally every other social media, does not have an algorithm. They try, they have a bit of a 'based on your likes' feature, but literally no one I know uses that. The beauty of tumblr is that you curate your dash by following blogs whose content you like.
Let's do a thought experiment. What if all the blogs you followed suddenly stopped reblogging content?
I'm sure your dash would be much more boring, much less active. This site doesn't work without reblogs. Likes literally mean nothing. This isn't Instagram, where your likes will at least contribute to the success of a post and boost it in the algorithm. This isn't Twitter, where your likes will be shown on people's timelines.
Tumblr does not work unless you reblog content. Like, it just doesn't. It's how things spread, it's how, in 2013, we got skeleton war, and Supernatural gifs for everything, and the Mishapocalypse, and Night Blogging. Because people shared things. And they spread.
But now the more controversial thing: appreciation. I understand being a silent reader. There are times when I read a fic and I don't have the energy to write a review for it, not even to do a keyboard smash. I understand being nervous to interact.
Let me introduce you to the blank reblog.
Blank reblogs are better than likes. Blank reblogs say 'this was good, so I want to share it with you, my followers.' You can always go back and write a review of the fic, or reblog it again, or comment on it when you have the energy, or send the writer an anonymous message with your thoughts if you really want to. But blank reblogs still let you share the content to your followers. Maybe someone who follows you will also enjoy the fic that you shared, and then they share it, too. That's how content spreads on this platform.
Likes, to most of the writers and creators I interact with, do not mean that you liked something. They mean that you're bookmarking it for later so you don't lose it. I liked this post on my phone so I wouldn't lose it when I switched to desktop to write my thoughts down.
I think we've all seen writers and creators on here saying that they feel underappreciated and unmotivated because of the lack of engagement and interaction. I've shared a few posts like that myself. I've also seen silent readers get defensive, and feel like writers are being whiny and entitled to engagement.
It's a tough balance. As much as they'd like to, readers cannot reblog everything. And there are some writers who are in it just for the notes. But to me, what those posts get at is that
no one likes to feel like they're screaming into a void
When I post a fic that I've spent months writing, and it gets lots of likes, but hardly any comments or reblogs and no one seems to want to talk about it with me, it hurts. Not because I necessarily want the validation of lots of notes, but it feels like no one cares.
A lot of my fics center on things that I struggle with--feelings of abandonment and othering in Fix You and Home, my struggles with my sexuality and feeling good enough in various LTC fics, feeling overwhelmed and stressed from expectations in this wip I have--and when people don't even acknowledge a fic, it can really sting.
Your favorite writers and creators don't hate you for not interacting with their stuff. They want a community.
They want people to relate to their fics, to feel something through their fics. They want to talk to people who appreciate what they're doing, even if it's just for a brief message. They want to be seen. They write for themselves, but it's hard to post to a void.
And I know, that's not really your problem as readers. But know that when/if you do reblog something with a review, or you message a writer with your thoughts on their fic, without exaggeration, you will be making their day.
here’s a little comparison for people who say engagement hasn’t gotten that bad and anyone who complains is ungrateful.
these are two posts from my first go round on tumblr circa 2014-2017, my most popular gifset of all time
Tumblr media
& a text post
Tumblr media
notice how the ratio is about even on likes to reblogs?
here’s from this go around, my most popular gifset
Tumblr media
and my most popular fic
Tumblr media
do you see how that’s discouraging?
i love being on this site. i love the little community i’ve found and the people who follow me and the mutuals i’ve made friendships with and the mutuals that i’m still getting to know. i love it. but at a certain point it’s hard to justify spending so much time on works that get bad engagement.
reblog, comment, send asks. without them, this site doesn’t work.

In anticipation for “The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie”, what are some of the best Porky Pig and Daffy Duck cartoons to watch from the classic shorts and from the new Looney Tunes Cartoons series?
i suppose "all of them" is not an adequate answer, but please know that is my first thought HAHA. there are very few Porky and Daffy shorts that i would tell people NOT to watch
BUT! OH GEEZ..... i guess it depends on what you're looking for. the beautiful thing about these two is that their dynamic is so diverse and varied that there's a little bit of everything to visit, but that can also be troublesome if you don't know what you want!
i genuinely may accidentally just end up listing their entire filmography here. but some of the Porky and Daffy shorts i like best purely in terms of their dynamic would be... Baby Bottleneck i think wins out as my favorite of them all. it has one of the best balances between their friendship/camaraderie that is so unique and earnest to them, but, likewise, has a FANTASTIC rivalry and really illustrates the great clash of personalities between them. Duck Soup to Nuts, while not my #1 favorite, is one of the first i recommend to people because i also think it does a great job of capturing what makes their dynamic so great. they play off of each other really well in that one, especially the "i told ya i was a pig" bit. Porky Pig's Feat i will also beg anyone and everyone to watch, good teamwork effort between the two and has some cute bits of them playing off each other. there's a lot of gold in the little details--i like how horrified Porky looks when Daffy gets slapped or Daffy turning the ear piece of the phone towards Porky at the end so he can listen
My Favorite Duck, Daffy Doodles, Tom Turk and Daffy, You Ought to Be in Pictures, Porky's Last Stand (this one may be more of a "deep cut"--Daffy is still very much in his fledgling stages so i don't know if i'd recommend it to someone who's never seen a Looney Tune before, but it's an undiscovered gem that actually depicts a REALLY fascinating relationship between the two. you can read my review of it to learn more), Daffy Duck Slept Here, Yankee Doodle Daffy, Boobs in the Woods, Fool Coverage, Robin Hood Daffy...
again, i'm very serious when i say the better question is to ask what i WOULDN'T recommend HAHA. i genuinely love every single Porky and Daffy short with the exception of a few bad eggs, and that's because they're either racist or veering towards a depressing decline in studio quality. Scalp Trouble and its """remake""" Slightly Daffy fall into this, as well as China Jones and Corn on the Cop--i hesitate to call Daffy's Inn Trouble good, because it's really not, but i have a weird soft spot for that one that i can't get myself to disavow. likewise, Scalp Trouble, the only worthwhile parts of that cartoon are the Porky and Daffy bits concentrated within the first two minutes of the short i think is salvageable.
AS FOR LTCs! some of my favorites have been Wet Cement, Crumb and Get It, Stained by Me, Practical Jerk, The Case of Porky's Pants, Curse of the Monkeybird, and Firehouse Frenzy. Crumb and Get It, Wet Cement and Stained by Me i sing the praises of most in terms of characterization, especially the first two. i've found those to be a bit more true to the dynamic of the originals than some of the others (which can have a tendency to delve into "Daffy makes Porky's life miserable by being annoying" which is a vast misread of the originals), but all of the above are absolutely worth watching.
SO, ESSENTIALLY, ALL OF THEM HAHAHA. i think even the most miniscule of Porky and Daffy shorts--especially earlier on, when they're the most likely to be overlooked--have something worth watching in them. there is so much to be charmed by and so many different interpretations of their dynamic.
coincidentally, if any of you guys see this and decide to give any of the aforementioned cartoons a watch for the first time, GIMME A SHOUT! i wanna hear your thoughts!!!!!! i always always always have words to say about the pig and duck and there's genuinely nothing more exciting to me than the idea of someone watching these cartoons that i personally have memorized like the back of my hand for the first time. i wanna spread the magic! so if this inspires you to get curious, please don't hesitate to share your thoughts :)

Day 4
Today, I thought of a way to organize the delieverable and it is based on floors (generally) ortho/spine/trauma, oncology, cardiac, neuro, ICU, PCU, ED, NICU, Moms/babies etc. Today we saw more cardiac pts.
a few things i wrote down before we started as we were chart reviewing.
dihiescent - reopening
lady had a spine wound from surgery was reopening. that never closed. it was down to the spinous process where we were able to see in the images. it was an elective spine surgery complication.
post surgery there is a risk for septic arthrisis risk
pertrochanteriac fx - through the trocanters
diverticulutus - inflammed pouches of the digestive tract
elevation sickness for older pts that move here from lower elevation, or just adpating to the thinner air, needing to be on O2 more commonly concern for pts with CHF, COPD, and other lung and cardic issues which results in fluid issues and management of the fluids is important. with a lot more fluids requires a lot more oxygen need along with afib complications can lead to myocardiac infarcts, heart attacks.
TCAR and BPH
watching out for electrolyte imbalances with cardiac and renal pts
closer eye on the telemoniter when workign with caridac pts and the deviations that are allowed, say bp, heart rate, spo2 etc
First guy we saw was laverne, alabama man with pitting edema, we got him up and walked him a little bit and he became hypotensive and that may have been due to his dierurtic.
cardiac lasics - dieturtic that is common
cadriac pts are easier for mobility in the technilical aspect but needs more prep and considerations of lab values and vitals
Jesse has his nerulogical specalist and stroke specalist certifcations
We had another cardic pt that was acting weird yesterday that jesse evaled and he might have been having a stroke but he wasnt and was just the residueal ansetrthic that was in his system from his fall. moved the sara stedy out.
we saw the english man and he didnt do well on crutches and ended up being wc to the stairwell to be trained on how to use stairs in a cramped apt with a bath chair. we spent a lot of time troubleshooting with him with his home situation and getting him up because he was unable to wb on his leg due to motor cycle accident and. it was cool to see the bath chair to go up the stairs.
next we had a very particular man that was basically termianl with ILD. he was very particular about everyhting and als owas no wbing on his R knee bevcause he had a knee spacer in there. he was not going to progress with rehab and would be sent back to a ltc facility.
there was a california man that moved to colorado, his daughter was there and he lives in the memory care with his wife who has alz. he was hoh and had a tcar done. he was able to move a bit and definately was demntia like. cardiac pt
watching for hypotensiveness is the 2 min test in each position, supine, eob, standing and laying down to see if there is a 20/10 SBP/DBP drop.
rankin score for stroke
cardiac rehab for post op cardiac surgery pts are not a bad idea.

Understanding Senior Housing Costs in Ottawa: A Comprehensive Guide
Tumblr media
As we age, finding the right housing solution becomes a crucial aspect of maintaining quality of life. For many seniors in Ottawa, the decision about where to live can be influenced by various factors, including cost, care needs, and personal preferences. This comprehensive guide aims to shed light on the different types of senior housing options available in Ottawa and their associated costs.
1. Types of Senior Housing in Ottawa
Understanding the types of senior housing available is the first step in navigating the costs and making an informed decision. Here are the primary options:
Independent Living Communities: These are designed for seniors who can live independently but want the convenience of having some services available, such as housekeeping, meal plans, and social activities. Residents typically have their own apartments or units.
Assisted Living Facilities: These offer support with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and medication management, while still allowing residents to maintain a degree of independence. Services often include meals, housekeeping, and personal care.
Long-Term Care (LTC) Homes: Also known as nursing homes, LTC homes provide around-the-clock care for individuals who require extensive medical assistance and support with daily living activities.
Retirement Residences: These are a broad category that includes both independent and assisted living options. They offer various levels of care based on the needs of the residents.
2. Cost Breakdown
The cost of senior housing in Ottawa can vary widely depending on the type of residence, the level of care required, and the amenities offered. Here's a general overview of what to expect:
Independent Living Communities: Costs typically range from $2,000 to $4,500 per month. This price usually covers the rent for the apartment, basic utilities, and access to communal amenities and activities. Additional fees may apply for optional services such as meals or housekeeping.
Assisted Living Facilities: Expect to pay between $3,000 and $6,500 per month. This range accounts for the cost of the apartment or room, along with personalized care services. Some facilities may charge extra for additional care services beyond the basic level included in the monthly fee.
Long-Term Care Homes: In Ottawa, the cost for LTC homes can range from $1,800 to $5,000 per month. The variation in cost often reflects the level of care required and the quality of the facility. For those with high care needs, additional charges may apply.
Retirement Residences: Depending on the level of care and amenities provided, costs can vary significantly, generally ranging from $2,500 to $7,000 per month. Higher-end residences with extensive amenities and higher levels of personalized care will be on the higher end of this spectrum.
3. Financial Assistance and Funding Options
For many seniors, covering the cost of housing can be a significant concern. Fortunately, there are several financial assistance options available in Ottawa:
Ontario Drug Benefit Program: This program helps with the cost of prescription medications for seniors aged 65 and older.
Ontario Seniors’ Public Health Insurance: Offers some coverage for health-related services and medical equipment.
Subsidized Housing Programs: The City of Ottawa offers various subsidized housing options for low-income seniors. These programs typically have long waitlists, so applying early is crucial.
Veterans Affairs Canada: For eligible veterans, there are additional benefits and funding options available for senior housing.
Private Insurance: Long-term care insurance can help cover some of the costs associated with assisted living or LTC homes. It's essential to review the policy details to understand what is covered.
4. Choosing the Right Option
Selecting the right housing option involves evaluating your personal needs and financial situation. Consider the following factors:
Care Needs: Assess your current and future care requirements. This will help you choose a facility that offers the appropriate level of support.
Budget: Determine what you can afford based on your income and available financial assistance. Make sure to account for any additional costs beyond the base fee.
Location and Amenities: Consider the location of the facility in relation to family and friends. Amenities such as transportation services, recreational activities, and social events can greatly impact your quality of life.
Visit and Evaluate: Visit several facilities to get a feel for the environment and speak with current residents if possible. This can provide valuable insights into the day-to-day experience at each location.
5. Conclusion
Navigating the world of senior housing costs in Ottawa can be complex, but understanding the options and associated costs is a crucial step in making an informed decision. By considering the different types of housing, associated costs, and available financial assistance, seniors and their families can find a solution that meets their needs and budget. Remember to plan ahead, visit potential residences, and explore all available resources to ensure a smooth transition to a new living situation.

A Beginner's Guide to Buying and Selling Cryptocurrencies
Cryptocurrencies have surged in popularity as both investment vehicles and transactional mediums. For those new to the space, buying and selling digital currencies might seem complex. This guide provides a clear overview of the process, from choosing an exchange to executing trades, to help you navigate the crypto market with confidence.
What Are Cryptocurrencies?
Cryptocurrencies are digital or virtual currencies secured by cryptography and operating on decentralized blockchain networks. Popular examples include Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Litecoin (LTC). Each cryptocurrency offers unique features and serves various purposes within the digital economy.
Selecting a Cryptocurrency Exchange
To trade cryptocurrencies, you first need to choose a trustworthy exchange. This platform enables the trading of digital currencies for other assets or fiat money. Key exchanges to consider include:
Coinbase: Great for beginners due to its easy-to-use interface and educational resources. It supports a broad range of cryptocurrencies.
Binance: Offers a vast selection of cryptocurrencies and advanced trading tools, making it suitable for experienced traders.
Kraken: Known for its strong security features and diverse cryptocurrency offerings, including options for margin trading.
When selecting an exchange, evaluate factors such as security, fees, the range of supported cryptocurrencies, and the overall user experience.
Setting Up Your Account
Once you've chosen an exchange, follow these steps to set up your account:
Registration: Sign up by providing your email address and creating a secure password.
Verification: Complete the Know Your Customer (KYC) process, which usually involves uploading ID documents like a passport or driver’s license.
Account Security: Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) for added security, requiring an additional verification method for transactions.
Funding Your Account
Before purchasing cryptocurrencies, you'll need to fund your account. Common methods include:
Bank Transfer: Transfer funds from your bank account to the exchange. Note that this can take a few days and may involve fees.
Credit/Debit Cards: Use your card for quick purchases, though this may come with higher fees compared to bank transfers.
Cryptocurrency Deposits: If you already own cryptocurrencies, you can deposit them into your exchange account for trading.
Buying Cryptocurrencies
Once funded, you can buy cryptocurrencies by following these steps:
Select the Cryptocurrency: Navigate to the trading section and choose the cryptocurrency you want to buy.
Specify the Amount: Decide how much of the cryptocurrency you wish to purchase. Many exchanges allow fractional buys.
Place Your Order: Choose between a market order (buying at the current price) or a limit order (buying at a specific price). Review and confirm your order.
Selling Cryptocurrencies
Selling cryptocurrencies involves similar steps:
Select the Cryptocurrency to Sell: Access your portfolio and select the cryptocurrency you want to sell.
Specify the Amount: Indicate how much you wish to sell.
Place Your Sell Order: Opt for a market order (selling at the current price) or a limit order (selling at a set price). Confirm the details and complete the sale.
Withdrawing Funds
After selling, you may want to withdraw your funds:
Withdrawal Section: Go to the withdrawal area of your exchange account.
Choose Withdrawal Method: Depending on the exchange, you can withdraw to a bank account, credit card, or cryptocurrency wallet.
Confirm Withdrawal: Review the details, including any fees, and confirm the withdrawal.
Navigating the world of cryptocurrencies can be rewarding with the right approach. By selecting a reputable exchange, securing your account, and understanding the trading process, you can confidently engage in cryptocurrency transactions. The Intersection Of Health Insurance And Retirement Planning
Tumblr media
The intersection of health insurance in PA and retirement planning  is a critical consideration for individuals as they prepare for their future financial security and healthcare needs. Navigating the complexities of health insurance coverage during retirement requires careful planning and understanding of available options.
Here's a comprehensive guide to the intersection of health insurance and retirement planning:
Understanding Medicare Coverage: Medicare is a federal health insurance program primarily available to individuals aged 65 and older, as well as certain younger individuals with disabilities or specific medical conditions. Understanding the different parts of Medicare is essential for retirement planning:
Medicare Part A: Covers hospital insurance, including inpatient hospital stays, skilled nursing facility care, hospice care, and some home health care services.
Medicare Part B: Covers medical insurance, including doctor visits, outpatient care, preventive services, and durable medical equipment.
Medicare Part C (Medicare Advantage): Offered by private insurance companies approved by Medicare, Medicare Advantage plans provide coverage for Part A and Part B benefits, often with additional benefits such as prescription drug coverage and dental or vision services.
Medicare Part D: Covers prescription drug coverage, which is available through standalone prescription drug plans (PDPs) or as part of Medicare Advantage plans.
Planning for Medicare Enrollment: Individuals become eligible for Medicare at age 65, and enrollment typically begins three months before the month of their 65th birthday and extends for seven months. It's essential to plan for Medicare enrollment and understand the enrollment deadlines to avoid potential penalties or gaps in coverage. If you're still working and covered by an employer-sponsored health plan at age 65, you may have the option to delay Medicare enrollment without penalty until you retire and lose group health coverage.
Understanding Medicare Costs: While Medicare provides essential health coverage for retirees, it's important to understand the associated costs and potential out-of-pocket expenses. While Medicare Part A is typically premium-free for most beneficiaries, Part B, Part C, and Part D plans may require monthly premiums, deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance. Additionally, Medicare Advantage plans may have network restrictions and coverage limitations, so it's essential to carefully review plan options and costs during the annual open enrollment period.
Considering Supplemental Coverage: Many retirees choose to supplement their Medicare coverage with additional insurance policies to fill gaps in coverage and provide extra financial protection. Medigap (Medicare Supplement Insurance) policies are offered by private insurance companies to help cover out-of-pocket costs such as deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance. Additionally, stand alone prescription drug plans (PDPs) can provide coverage for prescription medications not included in original Medicare or Medicare Advantage plans.
Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) in Retirement: For individuals enrolled in a high-deductible health plan (HDHP) with a health savings account (HSA), retirement planning can include maximizing HSA contributions to save for future healthcare expenses in retirement. HSAs offer tax advantages, including tax-deductible contributions, tax-free earnings, and tax-free withdrawals for qualified medical expenses. Contributions to an HSA can continue after age 65, providing a valuable resource for covering healthcare costs in retirement.
Long-Term Care Planning: Long-term care (LTC) planning is an essential aspect of retirement planning, as the costs of long-term care services can be significant and not covered by Medicare or most health insurance plans. Consider exploring long-term care insurance options or alternative strategies, such as self-insuring or utilizing Medicaid benefits, to help cover potential long-term care expenses in retirement.
Healthcare Cost Estimation: Estimating healthcare costs in retirement is challenging due to factors such as inflation, changing healthcare needs, and potential medical emergencies. Consider working with a financial advisor or utilizing online tools and resources to estimate your future healthcare expenses and incorporate them into your retirement savings goals. Building a comprehensive retirement plan that accounts for healthcare costs can help ensure financial security and peace of mind in retirement.
Reevaluating Coverage Needs Annually: Healthcare needs and insurance options may change over time, so it's essential to reevaluate your coverage needs annually and adjust your retirement plan accordingly. Review your Medicare coverage options, supplemental insurance policies, and savings accounts regularly to ensure they align with your current health status, financial situation, and retirement goals.
In conclusion, the intersection of health insurance and retirement planning is a complex but essential aspect of preparing for retirement. Understanding Medicare coverage, planning for enrollment, considering supplemental coverage options, maximizing HSAs, planning for long-term care, estimating healthcare costs, and reevaluating coverage needs annually are key components of effective retirement planning. By carefully considering these factors and incorporating healthcare costs into your retirement plan, you can achieve greater financial security and peace of mind in retirement.
