whumpee has preexisting respiratory problem that’s usually manageable, but flares up in a bad way bc of the horrible conditions whumper keeps them in

tw fear of suffocation, talk of murder, death threat, captivity

"Please–" Whumpee was cut off by yet another coughing fit, worse than the ones before. They just couldn't seem to stop. Every single breath they took in that dusty cellar was chipping away at their health, and nobody was listening to them about it. "Please, I just need fresh air–"

They weren't asking for anything else anymore. Shitty food, suspicious water, a thin sheet for a bed, they didn't care. They just didn't want to die.

"You know I can't just let you out." Whumper looked down at them without an ounce of pity, even as they started coughing again. "What if you run off?"

"Not with these lungs," they wheezed. "I'm not running anywhere. I swear. Please, don't let me suffocate down here. Please. I'm scared."

"Well..." They leaned against the wall from across where Whumpee knelt, seemingly deep in thought. "I suppose we could give it a go."

Whumpee grabbed onto the bars excitedly. They felt more hopeful than they had at any point during their captivity so far. "Thank you! Thank you, I–"

"If you step out of line even once," Whumpee interrupted coldly, "I will smother you in your sleep with the dustiest pillow I have."

May I present, my attempt at illustrating the last four pages of Tevinter Nights. 😁 (Also, the first time I'm posting art on here!)

As the whole thing was quite literally too long to post on tumblr, I uploaded the full version on a customized site made for reading webcomics (via ComicFury). On a personal note though, I can't believe I actually finished it... As it had been a *very* long time since I drew (and finished) anything, let alone a 31 page comic and reading Tevinter Nights again finally sparked my motivation (and the courage to post it lol). So I want to thank Patrick Weekes for helping me overcome this massive art block and over two decades of Case Closed mangas for inspiring me how to draw an overly dramatic "exposing the imposter" moment. 😂 I tried my best to be as faithful to the book as possible and it took me forever, so... hope you like it! :D
