Your eyes were growing heavy as you were sitting in front of your open laptop trying to write an essay for one of your classes. You had been staring at the open word document since you had arrived at the local library in the area of where you lived in Seoul. You had lived in Seoul all your life, but a few years ago, you had moved from your beloved childhood home and into what could be called a giant mansion of a house where you lived the mafia gang Bangtan.
You had met the members of Bangtan when you were just 13 years old and still lived with your parent´s. Your parent´s were very important people as your father worked as a private detective for the government and your mother was a specialized FBI undercover agent. They were famous for have taken down multiple gangs in Seoul and locking them up in prisons, but that also came with many risks.
One night you and your parent´s had been kidnapped from your own beds in the middle of the night by a gang called The Rattlesnakes. They were one of the toughest and most ruthless gangs in Seoul. Your parent´s had captured and locked up their leader and multiple of the members and they were not happy about that.
They had sneaked into your house, drugged both you and your parent´s so it were easier to kidnap you and then proceeded to take you back to their place. That had also been the night they were attacked by Bangtan and since they weren’t prepared, they had lost the battle against them.
Some of the members in Bangtan had found you and your parent´s, but it was only you that had made it through all the things that had happened. Your mother had gotten an overdose of the drug they had given her and your father had died from all the torture he had been put through.
You didn´t have any family other than your parent´s and since they were both dead, you didn´t have anywhere to go which resulted in you either being homeless and on your own at 13 or get handed over to a foster care home. Some of the members had felt bad for you and there was no way in hell they were going to let you go through any of that.
Some of the members had been homeless themselves and some had grown up in foster care homes too and they knew exactly what it was like to live with a family that only kept you for the money they would get, so they had all decided to take you in and treat you like one of their own.
That had all happened five years ago, as you were now 18 years old and in your last year of high school. Over the years, you had grown immensely close to all of the members, but you had always been the closest to Jungkook, the maknae, as he was only two years older than you were.
Since you had been 16, you had started to develop a crush on him, but you never had courage to admit that to him until about five months ago were you had turned 18 and you had celebrated and turned a bit tipsy together with Jungkook.
You had joked around all night, fooling around and giving each other gentle and small punches against your shoulders until one time you had almost slipped and Jungkook had quickly grabbed you, but you still ended up on the floor as you both had a horrible balance at the time.
As you were lying on the floor, staring up at each other all you could think was ´fuck it´ and then you had kissed him. Jungkook was surprised by your actions, but he had kissed you back immediately until you were interrupted by Yoongi.
Yoongi had not been happy about you two blocking the way to his room and it did not help that you were kissing while doing so. You had both been scolded by every single member in the gang, but neither of you cared as you now knew that you felt the same for each other.
The day after all of that had happened, Jungkook had asked you to be his girlfriend and you had happily been in a relationship since that.
As you were still staring at your open word document and still hadn´t wrote a single word of your assignment, your phone started buzzing besides you. At first, you dismissed it as just being a text, but it continued to buzz beside you, telling you that someone was calling you.
You picked up your phone and let out a heavy sigh, as it was Jungkook that was calling you. You really needed to work on your assignment so you didn´t have time to talk to Jungkook right now, but you knew your boyfriend pretty well and therefor you took the call as Jungkook would just continue to call you if you didn´t.
“Why don´t you love me,” you could hear Jungkook whine through the phone before you even had the chance to lift it up to your ear. “I need love to survive or I´m just gonna wither away and fade into nothing,” he continued whining at you.
“Why don´t you just ask Jimin and Taehyung to make a cuddle pit with you, Bunny face,” you retorted back at him, as you needed this phone call to end quickly. You missed cuddling with your boyfriend too, but finals were coming soon, resulting in you being cooked up in the library a few hours after school the last week.
“Wow, and here I thought you actually loved me,” Jungkook huffed out at you, making you roll your eyes at how dramatic he was being right now. “No, but seriously. When are you done with your assignment? It´s not healthy to work as much as you have lately,” he continued, his voice full of concern now.
“I haven´t even started yet Kook,” you sighed out as you felt completely drained from all the work for school you had been doing lately.
“Wait, you haven’t?” Jungkook gasped at you. “With all the hours you spent at library lately you would think you would have made a complete autobiography over your life. Why don´t you just ask Namjoon hyung to help you with your homework?” he asked you and you let out another frustrated sighed.
“I can´t, his busy with The Rattlesnakes trying to take over one of your territories, he doesn´t have time to help me with my stupid assignments right now,” you mumbled since you would have asked Namjoon to help you, but The Rattlesnakes were getting more rough lately in trying to take over the city.
“You know what, I´m gonna come and help you with that assignment,” Jungkook said in confident voice and your eyes immediately widened.
“Oh no, no, no Kook you really don´t have to do that,” you quickly spoke out, “Besides what do you know about The French Revolution and what effects it had on the democracy in France?” you asked him with a scoff.
“Well… nothing much, but how much do you know about the French Revolution, hm?” Jungkook retorted back at you.
“Well… nothing much…” you sheepishly admitted as you hadn´t been paying much attention to your teacher during this subject, which you deeply regretted right now.
“Well that´s just perfect because two nothings makes one great something,” Jungkook spoke in a cheery voice as you could hear him already moving around and a sipper being pulled as he was already on his way towards you.
“I´m pretty sure that´s not how it works Kook,” you mumbled out, but he didn´t listen to you.
“I´m on my way to the library now so I´ll be there in 15 minutes,” he told you before he abruptly hung up leaving you to stare dumbfounded at your phone.
“You little punk,” you muttered out as you put your phone back in your pocket and focused your attention back on your assignment.
With some new found motivation you started writing a few sentences as you knew that once Jungkook got here there was no way in hell that you would actually get any work done. You would most likely also get kicked out after ten minutes by the librarian for making too much noise.
Five minutes had passed and it was actually going pretty well with writing your assignment when a loud bang rung out through the library and you jumped two meter up into the air from shock over the loud noise. It sounded like a door that had been knocked open and you turned around in your seat to look towards the front doors, but big bookshelves kept you from seeing what was going on.
You stood up from your seat and went over to one of the bookshelves to see what was going on when someone suddenly started yelling.
“THE RATTLESNAKES ARE HERE! TAKE COVER!” where after a gunshot rung throughout the library and then sound of someone falling to the ground. You immediately jumped back to your seat where you slammed your laptop shut, grabbed your backpack and jacket and quickly crawled under the table to hide.
It was an unspoken rule that if you saw a member from The Rattlesnakes, you would yell out that they were here to alarm everybody else, because no matter what, if they didn´t have any use of you they would kill you on the spot so you might as well alarm as many people as possible before that happens.
As you were hiding under the table, you pulled out your phone, dialing Jungkook´s number as you stuffed your laptop down into your backpack. You reached your phone up to your ear just in time to hear Jungkook pick up the phone.
“Ahw, you miss me so much that you can´t even wait five more minutes to hear my beautiful voice-“ He started talking in a cheery voice, but you quickly interrupted him.
“The Rattlesnakes are here,” you frantically whispered out as you didn´t want them to find you.
“They’re at the library?!” Jungkook yelled his voice serious and far from cheery now. “(Y/N) what happened?” he continued asking as you could hear that he was running now.
“I-I don´t know,” you whispered through sobs as you tried your hardest to keep the tears that now had formed in your, from rolling down your cheeks. “The door was knocked open and, and someone yelled that they were here and then… and then I think they got shot,” you continued gasping out frantically and you couldn´t stop the tears from falling now.
The rattlesnakes killed males on the spot, but with young girls and woman they had a reputation of taking advantage of them before killing them and if they took a liking to you… A shiver ran through your body as you didn´t even wanna think about what would happen then.
“(Y/N) where exactly are you right now in the library?” Jungkook asked as he was slightly panting now from running.
“I´m hiding under a table in the literature section,” you whispered out before two loud gunshots were fired somewhere in the room and it sounded like they were coming closer to you.
“Jungkook please hurry, their coming closer,” you sobbed out as you were shaking with fear now.
“I´m five minutes away (Y/N) just stay there. I´m coming to get you right now,” Jungkook said before he asked you; “how many do you think there are of them?”
“I-I…” you barely managed to choke out through sobs, but you had absolutely no idea of how many there were until you saw two pairs of legs walk around in front of you in the distance.
“(Y/N) I need to know how many there are!” Jungkook yelled frantically as The Rattlesnakes themselves were dangerous, but going up against them without knowing how many there were just asking to get killed.
“I can only see two and I haven´t heard anyone run into them elsewhere,” you whispered back as quietly as possible since they were only standing a few meters away from you. They couldn´t see you as you were pretty well hidden under the table, but they could still hear you if you spoke too loudly.
“(Y/N) where are they right now, can you see them?” Jungkook asked you, nervous that you could be found by them any minute now and he still wasn´t there to protect you.
“Their standing a few meters away in front of me and-“ you started explaining, but you quickly stopped when they started moving towards you.
“And what (Y/N)?” Jungkook asked you, but you didn´t answer him as the members from The Rattlesnakes were moving closer and closer to where you were hiding. “(Y/N) ANSWER ME!” Jungkook full on yelled at you now, but you knew it was because he was scared of how quiet you were right now.
The Rattlesnakes moved towards you and you held your breath, scared that they might be able to hear you breathe. They got closer and closer and then… they moved right passed your table and you looked over your shoulder to see them walk around some bookshelves and away from you.
“They´re gone now,” you sighed out relieved that you hadn´t been caught and you could hear Jungkook do the same.
“Thank god,” he sighed out, his voice much more calm now than before. “Just stay hidden under the table, I can see the front doors to the library now and-“ he continued, but then something suddenly grabbed around both of your ankles and started pulling you out from under the table.
“JUNGKOOK!” you screamed as you tried kicking the hands away, but it didn´t help. You had been so shocked by what happened that you had dropped your phone and you tried to grab it, but you were pulled away to quickly as you could hear Jungkook yell out to you through it.
You were complete pulled out from under the table now and the person that had grabbed you, twisted your legs so you were forced to flip onto your back to look up at one of the members from The Rattlesnakes.
He was well build with muscles and very tall. He was wearing the tight, infamous leather jacket that had The Rattlesnakes logo embroidered on the front of it.
“Oh my, my, who do we have here?” he asked out as he gave you a smug smirk. “If it isn´t Jeon Jungkook´s little bitch. I´m going to have so much fun with you,” he continued as he let go of one of your ankles and reached forward to grab your arm to pull you up. However, you quickly pulled your free leg back and then kicked him hard in crotch.
He let out a loud groan as he let go of your other ankle to clutch his crotch with both of his hands and you quickly jumped and gave him a punch straight to his nose, a loud crack coming from it and letting you know that you had broken it.
You quickly bolted over to the front doors to get the hell out of there, leaving all of your things behind, but the other member from The Rattlesnakes showed up out of nowhere. He quickly grabbed the collar of your shirt and threw you up against a wall.
“Oh no little girl, you´re not going anywhere until I´ve had a little fun with you,” he almost purred out as he face was uncomfortably close to yours. His breath fanned across your face and it smelled as if he hadn´t brushed his teeth in months.
You turned your face to the side to avoid the smell directly´, but he only grabbed your chin and forced you to look back at him.
“Oh don´t be shy,” he taunted out at you as he gave you a confident smirk. “I´ll make sure to give you a time you´ll never forget,” he continued, but then stopped as you heard someone yell in the distance.
“(Y/N)! WHERE ARE YOU!?” It was Jungkook. He had finally made it to the library and just as you were about to yell out to him, a hand was slammed over your mouth as you were pulled away from the entrance.
“You,” the guy holding you spoke to the other who had almost recovered from your small attack on him except he was bleeding a lot from his nose now. “Go deal with whoever is coming now as I have a little fun with this one,” he continued as he dragged you away from the entrance to the library.
You tried your best to get out of the grip he had on you, but he was much bigger and much stronger than you were so it was all pointless, but you weren’t going to let anyone force themselves on you without a fight.
“No way, I was the one who found her so why do you get her all to yourself?” the guy with the broken nose complained, but he stayed put in his spot as you were dragged further and further away from Jungkook.
“Judging from how hard she kicked you in the balls, it´s not going to work down there for a while, besides you can have her afterwards if you still want,” the guy holding you grinned at him and with that you were pulled behind the book shelves.
The guy holding you removed his hand that were laying over your mouth as he pushed you against one of the tables. You tried your hardest to get out of his grip, but he only tighten his hold on your shoulders as he pushed you down on the table. In the distance, you could hear Jungkook yell after you before you heard the classic sounds of a fistfight breaking out.
“JUNGKOOK!” you screamed as loud as you could, but you were quickly silenced as you felt a hard slap across your face. The slap had been hard enough for you to see stars, but you continued to try to fight against your attacker, kicking wildly with your legs, but the guy still managed to pin them down.
“Well aren´t you a feisty one,” the guy growled out at you as you were uncontrollably crying now. There was no way you were getting away from him without any help, but Jungkook was kept away from you by the other guy and he was much bigger than Jungkook were.
Just as you were about to give up and the guy had almost pushed the skirt you were wearing out of the way, he was suddenly knocked in the head with a wooden chair. He fell to the ground almost immediately and when his grip loosened just a little bit on you, you managed to get out of it and take cover under the table you had been pushed against.
As you were hiding under the table, you could see someone continuing to bang the wooden chair against the guy that had attacked you, but you soon recognized the new persons shoes as them being Jungkook´s.
“Jungkook,” you gasped out in a very quiet voice that it surprised you he even heard you over the banging of the chair. The guy was unconscious now, hell he was probably even dead now from how hard Jungkook had been hitting him. The chair was practically falling apart now.
Suddenly Jungkook threw the chair away and dropped down to his knees, looking worriedly at you. He reached one of his hands forward to you, but you flinched away from him as you were still winded up from all the things that had happened. Jungkook quickly retracted his hand back as he raised both of them up in front of him, showing you the palms of them.
“(Y/N) easy, nothing is going to happen to you, okay?” he spoke to you in a quiet and slow voice as he didn´t want to scare you more than you already were. “(Y/N) I´m gonna keep my hands up here where you can see them and I´m not going to touch you unless you want me too, but please (Y/N) come out from under the table. Nothing is going to happen to you, okay?” he continued as he looked at you worriedly. You gave him a small nod with your head to tell him that you had heard and understood what he said. You started crawling towards him to get out from under the table, but Jungkook quickly stopped you.
“No, no, no don´t crawl out this way, I don’t want you to ever see that guy again,” he frantically told you as he nodded his head over towards the guy that was still lying on the floor. You nodded again as you started crawling backwards and Jungkook quickly stood up, walked around the table and crouched down on the other side to meet you. He was still holding his hands in the same place as you had now gotten completely out and was sitting in front of him. You noticed that the left side of his jaw was starting to turn red and the skin around his hands were scraped and a bit bloodied.
“(Y/N) are you ok-“ he started asking you, but you quickly interrupted him by jumping into his arms, crying into his shoulder as you were sobbing loudly. Jungkook wrapped his arms around you immediately, one of them rubbing your back as the other came up to your head and stroked through your hair.
“Oh (Y/N)…” he choked out as you could feel his shoulders shaking from keeping in his own tears and sobs. “You´re okay now, you´re okay,” he continued to gasp out as he hugged you tighter towards him.
You had been sitting on the floor for a while now and you were still crying, but silently now and occasionally sniffling. You started leaning away from Jungkook as he looked at you, his eyes filled with worry. He laid one of his hands on your cheek and stroked it with his thumb as you closed your eyes and leaned into his touch.
“Thank god you´re okay, you are okay, right?” Jungkook asked you as you opened your eyes to look at him again.
“I´m okay Kook and that´s all thanks to you,” you spoke out as you reached your hand up to grab his that still rested on your cheek.
“I just wished I would have gotten here sooner and none of this would have happened to you,” he said as he couldn´t keep the tears to himself any longer. They spilled out of his eyes and rolled down his cheeks and you quickly went to dry the away with your thumbs.
“Jungkook no, you got here in time and that´s what´s really matters, okay? You got here in time,” you said to him as you gave him a small reassuringly smile which he returned back to you. He gave you a quick kiss on your forehead before he grabbed your hands with his own again and planted a quick kiss on the back of them as well.
“Hey, you wanna get out of here and go home and cuddle?” he asked you as he gave you a sheepish smile. He looked so adorable right now that you couldn´t help, but to giggle back at him as you quickly nodded your head.
Jungkook gave you one last kiss on your forehead before he stood up and helped you to your own feet afterwards. He wrapped an arm around you as you walked over to the table were you had left your things. He quickly got them out from under the table and helped you put on your jacket before he took your backpack himself.
You then turned towards the entrance of the library and started walking towards it to get back home. Jungkook shielded your eyes so you couldn´t look at any of the bodies that you passed on your way out and didn´t move his hand before you were completely out of the library.
As you started walking down the steps outside, he wrapped his arm back around your shoulders and laid a gentle kiss against your temple.
“I will always protect (Y/N),” he spoke against your temple as you had reached the end of the stairs and you wrapped your own arm around his waist. “Always.”

A Time for Us
A/N: The other voted blip from the [Mafia AU] to flesh out the dynamic/relationship between Riko and You. Hmm, it turned out.. Interesting, but I think I’ve managed to portray the atmosphere I intended. Words: 1,344 Ship: YouRiko(?)
Riko Sakurauchi made a thoughtful hum, her lone eye staring at the blueprints spread all over the bench. Theoretically, the designs appeared adequate, the improvements as functional as she had calculated them to be. Now all that remained was the practical aspect of her modifications. It was not a matter of being a perfectionist, for a failure in these weapons could mean the death of whoever wielded them.
And so she ran simulations, fired upon dummies herself and meticulously recorded every single test to ensure that there would be no failure, not in weapons modded by the underboss of the Kurosawagumi.
Her new position in the Family meant significantly less time for her to tinker with her toys, therefore she always devoted her rare free time to her workshop. Her creativity was allowed to run rampant and nothing pleased her more than productivity. Perhaps she should indulge herself in another drinking night with Chika. Their highly entertaining discussions about various kills tended to do wonders for her artistry. These blueprints were the proof of that.
Rounds from her enhanced shotgun echoed thunderously in her spacious warehouse as she tested the last of her modified models
The decimated mannequin prompted a small smirk from her otherwise composed features.
She wiped her greasy hands on a towel and slicked back her long bangs before pinning them with some hairclips. She got a long day ahead of her if she wanted to compile all the notes and ran one last series of tests. Frowning, she resisted the temptation to rub at her remaining eye, feeling the strain from overexerting it. She thought that she had more or less gotten used to having her vision cut in half but this was one of the few moments she wished for her lost eye.
Alas, it was gone. No use wishing for the impossible.
Several light knocks on the door broke her out of her reverie. Sighing, she didn’t need to glance at the monitor to know who the visitor was. Few people dared to bother her while she was shut in her lab and, at this early hour, there could only be one candidate. She deliberated for a while, knowing her uninvited guest would politely keep on waiting until she made her choice.
Riko sighed again, opting to deal with this as quickly as possible so she could resume working. Upon her brusque press of a button, the thick metallic door groaned and slid open, closing as soon as the silver-haired woman stepped inside.
“Riko-chan.”
She only spared You Watanabe a glance as she fiddled with the spare gun parts on the bench. She heard You walking towards one of the side tables and carefully placing a plate down on it.
“I brought some sandwiches. I heard you pulled an all-nighter, from Kanan and Chika-chan.”
“Of course those two yahoos are still awake.” Riko scoffed, forcing unwanted images of the Twilight Tigers from her mind. Kill or fuck or both, those two thrived best at night after all.
You chuckled at that as she gingerly sat down on the corner of a couch, the seat full of cluttered junk and broken blades. Silence then fell upon them while Riko busied herself with organizing the firearms and scribbled notes. Such aloof treatment did not deter You, who seemed content at simply watching her work.
Though You had exceeded her welcome, the extra presence in her lab was a mere itch and Riko soon forgot she even had a visitor. It was only when she had to retrieve something from the pile beside You that she remembered her being here.
Prickled by the intensity of those blue eyes, Riko growled softly. “What?”
“You’re not gonna eat?”
Riko glanced at her greasy hands, the many components strewn around the shop and those sloppily pinned notes scattered all over. Her lone amber eye narrowed with a clear unspoken message of ‘really, now?’
“Take a break, Riko-chan.” You smiled easily, though there was a tenor of stubbornness in her tone. Huffing, Riko went to wash her hands and took the plate towards her computer desk. She sat down with an irritated glare at her cup of stale coffee and began to set up the programs to run simulations.
After a while, Riko had enough.
“Stop staring at my scar.”
“Sorry, I was just…” You sounded startled and chagrined, though Riko was unable to see her expression due to her blind spot. “No, it’s nothing. Sorry.”
“Just what?”
“It’s nothing-”
“Speak.” The underboss said quietly.
You exhaled and shifted a bit, the couch squeaking from her movement. “...I thought you dislike showing your scar.”
“I do, but I was alone in my lab, wasn’t I?” Riko said succinctly. “Until you came by.”
It was a clear indication that it was time for You to leave, but either she didn’t catch it or she chose to ignore it. Riko subconsciously clenched her fist.
“...does it hurt?”
“Really?” Riko slowly turned around to face You fully. “After so many years?”
“I was just wondering…” You grumbled with her hands folded in her lap.
“Why do you ask?”
“I’m just worried about you.”
The honest answer wasn’t unexpected but Riko still found herself at a loss for words. She unwittingly found her gaze trailing You’s form, from the scruffy silver hair to the familiar accessory tied around her right bicep. The frayed scarf, its pink hue losing color over time, looked so out of place with the rest of the woman’s immaculate outfit. A gift from a blissfully ignorant child to an equally naive kid, now worn by the Family’s most revered capo. The irony was both amusing and disheartening.
So long ago. It was… so, so long ago.
There was a brief tug within her chest, so brief that she barely felt it. Still, she acknowledged the ache and, after a moment’s hesitation, stood up from her seat. She kept her gait smooth, the limp imperceptible, and stopped in front of the capo.
“You.”
You looked up, her expression guarded.
“I can take care of myself.”
A flicker of wistfulness in those blue eyes. “I know.”
“Then why?”
“As your… friend, I can still worry about you, can’t I?” You got up slowly to match their heights. “I’ll always, worry, about you, Riko-chan.”
Riko doesn’t know what to say to that. When You tentatively cupped her cheek, she fought with every fibre of her being not to recoil. It wasn’t as if she disliked body contact, no, but rather the tender touch that lulled her under this sense of vulnerability.
You’s palm felt calloused, no doubt littered with many tiny scars from all the fights, but it was just as warm as her lips. Riko’s eye drifted shut as she returned the kiss just as carefully, as if anything more would shatter this delicate illusion of peace.
However, time did not and could not stop or rewind. The river continued to flow and with it, carried away the past.
They broke away a moment later, breathing in each other’s scent and standing intimately close. Riko gazed at You’s lost expression and wished she could have looked at her properly with both her eyes. Alas, her eye was gone and so was their time. She gently rested her forehead against You’s, her voice nothing more than a murmur.
“I’ve long found my place. You should too… You-chan.”
The silver-haired capo closed her eyes as if savoring the moment. Her hand left Riko’s cheek as she placed a light kiss against the scarred eye. Nodding wordlessly, You walked away and left the warehouse.
It was only after the door clicked shut that Riko returned to her seat, this time not bothering to hide her limp. She brushed her hands through her bangs and stared blankly at the screen for a few moments, her finger tapping half-heartedly on the table.
She soon became absorbed in her work once more, but only after she had finished the sandwiches that You had made for her.

A/N: Here’s a blip to flesh out the dynamic/relationship between Dia and Kanan from [Mafia AU], as voted on my twitter. I had fun writing it XD Words: 1,946 Characters: Dia and Kanan (with implied KanaChika and DiaRiko)
Dia Kurosawa tightened her high-ponytail before hopping onto the ring. She had properly warmed up earlier with the punching bags and was more than ready to try her mettle against a moving opponent. It had been a few weeks since her rib injury had suspended her duties, far too long to confine someone in idle restlessness let alone the kumichou of the Kurosawagumi.
“You sure?” Her trainer and her confidante asked, though the rhetorical question was a jab to rile her up. Kanan Matsuura was a woman of few words when she wanted to be, but she had a certain way with them that caused whichever effect she desired.
“I make my own kills,” Dia said evenly, “I have been warming the bench for too long.”
Kanan let out a gruff chuckle, agreeing to her inactivity in past two grand missions. “Then come at me, and I’ll decide whether you’re ready or not.” She placed her orange-tinted glasses on a nearby table and pulled off her dress shirt, leaving only a black tanktop on. Her violet eyes had a gleam of amusement as she rolled her shoulders and cracked her knuckles. “I wouldn’t want Riko to get angry. Oh definitely not.”
“The infamous Twilight Tiger is scared?” Dia also shrugged off her yukata so she was only clad in her sports bra and shorts. The cool air felt pleasant against her exposed skin, especially around her injured area. It was always a good idea to allow a wound to breathe, and any bouts of pain were inconsequential.
“Of Riko? Of course. It’d be unwise not to,” Kanan smiled. It was just a playful jest since nothing could faze her, but no one wanted to be under the scrutiny of the underboss’ lone chilly eye, not if they could avoid it. Even the Family’s ace assassin was no exception.
The mild humor then vanished just as quickly and Kanan gave her a curt nod.
There was no winning a raw fistfight, not against the best fighter of the Family, though Dia still enjoyed sparring and pushing her limits. She clenched her fist tightly under the training bandages and charged, her muscles coiled like springs. In her younger years, she had been scrawny, mostly bone and skin, but intense training had toughened her body. Sinewy muscles flexed and stretched under her pale complexion, making her jabs quick and powerful. Her legs, though not much of an asset in terms of power, gave her all the leverage she needed to swerve and outpace her opponents. She dodged most of the punches and kicks Kanan threw at her.
“You’re still favoring your left side,” the assassin grunted just before sending a powerful jab at her. Dia saw the attack coming but couldn’t react fast enough to dodge or parry it. Kanan’s fist rammed her middle, causing her to stagger but she bounced back up without as much as a grimace. The impassive expression in spite of the pain had Kanan smirking, like she always did whenever she approved of something. Even back in Russia, she never made accolades to a job well done simply because it was expected to happen. In their line of work, failure meant death, or worse, the safety of the Family.
Dia returned to her stance after rolling her shoulder, the yakuza-style tattoos flowing over the joint and deltoid like breathing water. She had earned every single one of those artworks, each worth a life snuffed, an enemy killed. She remembered the first she had gotten, back when she was sixteen. She just returned to the States then, a fiery youth ready to fight for her inheritance and her family’s legacy. That single sakura emblem had been joined by a myriad of other effigies since then; on her back, shoulders and right arm. The eight-headed Orochi and the immortal phoenix were typically reserved for higher profile kills; she didn’t get any of those until well into her nineteenth year. But being the heart and soul of such operations meant that those high profile targets were reserved only for her, and she had earned them well as the heiress of the notorious Kurosawagumi.
Emerald eyes spied similar artwork on her sparring partner’s body, which teemed with markings from her vicious upbringing. The muscular woman’s style depicted her origin, symbolic and predominantly inked in black. An eight-pointed star was inked in bold under her clavicle, a symbol for thievery of the highest caliber. She remembered Kanan telling her once that she earned that tattoo by stealing a minister’s daughter and all his riches right under his nose. As Dia dodged another punch to her right, she saw the white claws of a Siberian Tiger on Kanan’s shoulder blade, a symbol for the old regime in which authority was bestowed only to the strongest. Though mostly hidden by her tanktop, Dia knew that, under the beast’s jaw, were human skulls crushed by ruthless fangs, denoting the wearer’s high proficiency for murder. A myriad of stripes, interlaced with other motifs, climbed up her entire left arm for each and every single brutal kill for the Family.
Indeed, the phantom Twilight Tiger was their trump card, her presence indomitable. Even in the ring, and despite Dia’s own skills, Kanan was difficult to take down. She had always been a fortress, any strike a juggernaut, but the kumichou was nothing but patient and tenacious. She would chip her down, brick by brick if she must.
Her opportunity came when Kanan suddenly lunged at her in a reckless tackle. Dia leapt and hooked her legs around Kanan’s shoulder and neck, using the momentum to shove her opponent down. As soon as they crashed on the ground, Dia swerved to the side and tightened her thighs around Kanan’s neck in a triangle choke.
Anyone else would have already lost or would soon lose consciousness by this point. Alas, Kanan managed to avoid the brunt of the submission and wrestled out of the maneuver with one arm wrapped around Dia’s waist. One abrupt lift and slam later, Dia found herself sprawled on her back and wheezing.
“You shouldn’t have done that, especially in your injured state,” Kanan rasped, looming above her. “And against me.”
“I should have known better, yes.” Despite the slight prickle to her pride, Dia knew to acknowledge her mistakes. It was near impossible to get past Kanan’s guard, so she should have realized it had been a bait the moment she landed a chokehold on her.
“Aw, you’ll always be better at katana than me,” Kanan chuckled, not to console her but to invite her to another round.
Dia narrowed her eyes and smiled defiantly, accepting her friend’s offered hand to help her get up. The sparring match resumed for the better part of the hour with heated intensity. Punches made way for real blades; combat knives, short swords, and katanas. Their exchanges were as vicious as if they were out to slit the throat of a target. They have always trained like this because neither saw a point in training with toys.
It was also sign of utmost trust that could only be built from a lifetime of camaraderie, indomitable faith in each other’s abilities to dodge potentially fatal strikes. Besides, it was always better to learn and practice how to dodge since failing to do so would result in a stab wound or worse, than play along and get killed in action. Such training also taught restraint and precise movements, key skills for assassins and professional criminals.
“If only you weren’t still recovering,” Kanan grinned even as the tongue of the katana slid perilously against her jugular. “That was beautiful.”
“Naturally,” Dia could feel the cool steel of the switchblade pressed against her abdomen, its lethal fang ready to bite into her flesh at any moment. “You still went easy on me.” It was not an accusation but a statement, and Kanan neither acknowledged nor denied it.
They held each other’s gaze for a moment, both taking controlled breaths as the adrenaline steadily ebbed away.
“That’ll do.” Kanan’s stance relaxed, prompting both combatants to lower their weapons and putting them away. “You were able to hide the obvious weakness on your right after a while. If you can keep that up, I don’t see why you can’t join us in the next mission.” A teasing chortle left her lips then. “Not that my verdict mattered - you intend to go back to your duties anyways.”
“Of course. It has been far too long and I grow restless.” Dia flicked her disheveled ponytail to rid herself of the strands that stuck to her sweaty skin, embittered by the reminder of her rare fumbles. She had miscalculated in a skirmish almost a month prior, and in order to dodge a bullet, she threw herself off a bridge onto a speeding truck, injuring her side in the process.
“I would just chill and laze about if I were you.” Shrugging, Kanan wiped at herself with a towel and began to clean up the mess they had created in the ring.
Dia merely gave her a withering look.
Kanan shrugged again.“Well, then don’t let such injury happen again.”
“It shall not.” A soft, yet icy voice, spoke from the edge of the ring. The kumichou looked over her shoulder and found Riko Sakurauchi standing there with a towel in one hand, while her iconic cane was held in another. Her lone eye held no warmth, only the abyssal chill that Dia knew well. Her faithful right-hand was displeased with their spar it seemed.
“Ah, busted~ Welp, since I’ve already ticked you off...” Kanan lit up a cigar and took a long, slow drag as if to savor it. Grinning at Riko’s murderous expression, she exhaled the smoke away from her direction and held up her hands in a playful gesture of surrender.
“You’re incorrigible.” Riko tapped her cane on the ground once, a quiet but menacing sound, though Dia could tell that the younger woman wasn’t as vexed as she appeared to be. “There’s a mess in the bar. Go clean it up.”
Kanan laughed. Her partner, Chika Takami, must have fallen asleep in the Family’s private lounge after celebrating the success of last night’s mission. The stab-happy assassin would have to be manually relocated, a feat that could only be done by the other Twilight Tiger, if they wanted to avoid unnecessary casualties.
“Gladly. Excuse me then, and good luck, boss~”
Slinging her scrunched-up shirt over one shoulder, Kanan eagerly hopped off of the ring and strolled towards the exit, her ponytail bouncing with each step. On her nape was a small symbolic mikan tattoo, inked personally and zealously by her lover upon such a vulnerable spot.
The sight never failed to appease Dia, to see her oldest friend enjoying life to the fullest, to be the best killer for the Family without losing her humanity. Once Kanan was out of the door, Dia approached the second command of the Family, who wordlessly wiped at the sweat and grime off of her face. Riko’s finger fleetingly brushed over the ridged skin beneath Dia’s left eye, and the subconscious gesture had her smiling faintly.
That scar was perhaps the most significant tattoo she had above all others. Her choice, her anchor.
“You are not going to reprimand me.”
Riko’s lips quirked at that, the frost melting in her lone gaze. “What’s done is done. I’m just relieved to see you recovering well.”
“I am more than well.” Dia shrugged her yukata over her shoulder before leaving the training room in confident strides, knowing the underboss will soon be right next to her.

I'm kind of curious on how Kanan saved Hanamaru's life in the Mafia AU. Was it an accident or something more akin to an assault? Do they know each other or was it a one time lucky encounter? After the incident, were they close to one another and keep contact or are they almost strangers? I really like your works by the way, keep it up!
Gad, hard to believe it’s already been a month since I last added to the MafiaAU (which were the tiger couple’s concept arts). More details will be stated in Hanamaru’s concept art but I’ll just ramble briefly here: Hanamaru was an innocent bystander who got dragged into this mess and Kanan, noticing that Hanamaru is just a college kid and has nothing to do with the underground world, saved her life.
Kanan, of course, wanted to cut off ties asap but Hanamaru wants to repay the life-debt. And so, after a lot of thinking and researching, Kanan chose to task Hanamaru in keeping an eye on her best friend, Ruby. Dia has already ordered guards monitoring her half-sister, but Kanan felt it safer and more direct if Ruby’s best friend can be that extra pair of eyes. So far, Hanamaru hasn’t had the need to use the emergency phone number Kanan had given her.

Please, I beg of you: do some research on wha mafia in Italy is. STOP romanticizing it, it's not a cute funny AU, these people killed hundreds and they fucking dissolved A KID IN ACID because of his grandfather's involvment with the mafia. Please, don't glorify it and make it seem it's all right.
I always research to an extent before writing about atheme/topic I’m not familiar with. For example, I researched on firearms andclose combat techniques (though I haven’t hadn’t the chance to incorporate mostthe info in my blips). I do this so I can portray the story as realistic aspossible – however, at the end of the day, it’s still fictional. The blips aretold from different perspectives, so naturally there will be different opinionsthat seem to make light of murders.
Nowhere did my blips and concept arts imply this AU is cuteor funny… unless, you’re referring to the chibi relationship chart, which iswhat it is. In the existing blips so far, there are the atmosphere of implied regret,‘they are what they are and involved in this underground world because they don’t have any other choices’ etc, unlessof course my writing hasn’t done a good enough job to convey that.
I started this AU because I felt like designing thecharacters (mafia AUs are popular fanart themes), and as I spent more time on it, I inevitably think on theirbackgrounds. My focus will always be on the characters and their relationships,so I did not even dive into other ugly aspects of such dark AU (drugs, trafficking etc.) Perhaps I should not have specifically said Italy or name anylocations, if that’s what your issue is. I’m more than happy to discuss yourconcerns through PM or reply to this post, as I prefer having a serious conversation with namedperson than anonymously.

You should know better than this. You knew you should know better than this. It wasn´t like this hadn´t happened to you before because it had happened a few times by now, but never for a period of time that was this long before.
Yoongi, your boyfriend for a year now, was out on a mission with some of his fellow gang members from the mafia gang, Bangtan. He was the drug lord in the gang and he was damn good at it. However, that also meant that he was needed on many missions when they involved a lot of drugs, especially the heavier and more expensive drugs and when it involved them to be in larger amounts. That´s also why you should know better than this.
Yoongi had told you that the mission wouldn´t take very long since the gang they were making deals with was on good terms with Bangtan. He couldn´t give you a precise time for when he would be home, but it would be somewhere around 12 am to 1:30 am which was now 5 hours ago.
The time was now 6:30 am in the morning and you were scared out of your mind that something horrible had happened to either Yoongi or his fellow gang members or all of them. This wasn´t the first time that Yoongi had gotten home hours later from a mission than he said he would, but that hadn´t been more than two to three hours.
Yoongi had told you straight from the beginning about who he was and what he does for a living and also informed you that something like this could happen a lot, which you had understood without any questions. You weren´t a stranger to being in a relationship with a gang member, but your last relationship had been a forced engagement that would get your brother out of a giant money depth to a casino.
However, unlike your relationship with Yoongi, there had been no love and no fondness for each other in that relationship and every time your fiancé didn’t come home, you actually prayed that something bad, horrible even, had happened to him.
You were wandering around the house out of sheer nervousness and anxiety for what had happened on that mission. You had always had a habit of biting your nails when you got nervous and right now wasn´t an exception either. You had bitten all ten of your fingernails down to the tips of your fingers and there wasn´t any more of your nails that you could bite into now, but that didn´t stop your bad habit.
You had moved to biting your cuticles and the skin around your nails. It hurt a lot, but you just couldn´t stop yourself from doing it. Yoongi had countless of times tried to break your bad habit, but the problem was that most of the times that it happened it was because he wasn´t here with you.
You were walking through the kitchen when you felt something start to trickle down one of your fingers. You furrowed your brows together as your removed your hand from your mouth and saw that you had punctured some of the skin around one of your fingers so that blood had started to trickle down it.
You let out a deep and frustrated sigh as you walked over to the kitchen counter and ripped of a paper towel from the roll. As you pressed the paper towel to your finger, you walked into the living room, sitting down on the couch as you thought that if Yoongi returned home… No, you couldn’t think like that.
When Yoongi returned home, he would be mad at you for ruining your beautiful fingers even though you couldn´t see the beauty that he saw in all of the scars and red, irritated skin.
As you were sitting on the couch, you started bumping your leg up and down nervously as you raised your hand up to your mouth once again only that the paper towel got in the way of you continuing your bad habit. You let out another frustrated sigh as you stood back up again and started walking aimlessly around the coffee table.
Maybe you should go out and look for Yoongi… you thought to yourself before you quickly stopped that thought and came back to your senses. If something had actually happened to Yoongi then the gang that had been the cause of that would most likely go after you in some way to use you against him. It would be safer for both you and Yoongi if you just stayed inside and kept out of trouble.
You decided that maybe turning on the TV would be better for your thoughts as the white noise of silence was starting to get to you. You went back over to the couch, sitting down once again and grabbed the remote to turn on the TV in front of you.
You zapped through a bunch of channels before you landed on the news channel. You were about to zap away from it too before they showed a giant building that was on fire. You leaned slightly forward in your seat as you turned up the volume focusing on what the reported was saying when they mentioned what warehouse it was which sounded very familiar to you. That´s when you realized that it was the warehouse owned by the gang Yoongi had a meeting with on his mission.
You flew up from where you were sitting on the couch as you dropped the paper towel down onto the coffee table. To say you were worried for Yoongi and the others life right now would be an understatement as you were scared out of your mind.
Had they still been there when the fire broke out and if so, had they managed to get away in time? Who had even started the fire? Was it Bangtan themselves and if so, weren’t they on good terms with the gang anymore or was it the gang that owned the warehouse that had done that and then why would they do that?
Just as you were about to panic you heard someone enter a key into the lock of the front door and being turned before the door opened. You could feel how all of your muscles tensed up as your eyes went wide before you heard the familiar voice of your boyfriend flow into the house.
“(Y/N)?” Yoongi called out, probably surprised to find all of the lights on since you usually don´t wake up until around 7:30 am.
“Yoongi,” you called out as you walked from the living room and into the entrance hall. When you got there Yoongi´s back was turned towards you as he was taking of his coat and hanging it onto the coat hanger.
“Hey sweetie,” he said as he took a quick glance at you over his shoulder before he crouched down to untie his shoelaces. “What are you doing up right now? Do you have an early class or…” he asked you as he stood back up to pull he shoes of and put them away.
“Min Yoongi,” you said in a voice shaking with anger, grabbing his attention instantly. He turned around, giving you a confused look as his brows furrowed close together. He opened his mouth to say something, but you didn´t give him the chance as you were furious at him right now and how could you not be.
He came home hours later than he said he would and he hadn´t called you or texted you to tell you why that was. The warehouse that he had been in was lit on fire by some gang and you didn´t know whether or not he was hurt, alive or dead for that matter and he still hadn´t shot a text your way to let you know that he was okay. So yeah, you were pissed at him right now because he was talking to you like this was a completely normal day and none of the things you had seen on TV hadn´t really happened.
“What´s wrong?” Yoongi asked you concerned as he walked towards you. “Did something happen while I was gone? Are you hurt?” he continued asking, as his voice got more and more concerned with each question.
“Did something happen? Are you seriously asking me that right now?” you growled at him as you stepped away from him as he stretched out his hands to take yours.
“(Y/N) stop playing games and tell what´s wrong,” Yoongi sighed, as he probably wanted to shower and then just crash straight into bed.
“Oh I´ll tell you what happened while you were gone,” you seethed out as you couldn´t believe he was acting this casual about all of this. “What happened is that you told you would be home 5 hours ago so I have been worried sick wondering whether or not you were lying dead somewhere-“
“Jesus (Y/N), I´m fine!” Yoongi quickly interrupted you and that was when you lost it.
“Oh yeah! Well I didn´t know that because you didn´t call me or text me whether or not you were okay!” you were full on yelling now and probably waking up the neighbors if they weren´t up already. “Then I turn on the news who informed me that the so called warehouse you were at on this mission, was set on fire by some gang and- and-” you wanted to yell more at him for being so oblivious, but your voice started to break at the end as you felt tears well up into your eyes.
You lifted a hand up to your mouth to try and stop a sob from coming out of you, but before you could control your emotions, the tears were rolling down your cheeks and you quickly turned around, hoping that Yoongi hadn´t managed to see them, but of course you weren’t that lucky.
“(Y/N)…” Yoongi sighed out as you heard him stepping closer and laying a hand on top of your shoulder. “(Y/N) I´m sorry I know I should have called or texted you or something to let you know I was okay, but you should also know better than this-“
“I know that Yoongi, okay?” you snapped back at him as you whirled around in your spot facing him again.
“Then why do you get this upset, mh?” Yoongi asked you, his voice slightly raising in volume as he tried to suppress his own frustration now. “I know that you´re worried about me, but you can´t afford to be that, there might be a day where I don´t come home from a mission and-“
“I know that Yoongi, but I´m scared, okay? I´m scared of losing you and I know I shouldn´t be that since it´s something that can happen every time you go on a mission, but I just… I don´t wanna lose you Yoongi… I don´t…” you weren’t yelling anymore as you were sobbing to much now. Your voice kept breaking at the end and you couldn´t take it anymore. You closed your eyes as you lifted your hands, covering your face as you were crying into them.
“(Y/N) don´t cry, okay?” Yoongi said in a much calmer and concerned voice as he wrapped you up in his arms and planted a soft kiss on the side of your head. “Please stop crying (Y/N). I know I should have told you I was going to be home late and I´m so sorry to have made you this upset, but please stop crying,” Yoongi continued as he leaned away a little and removed your hands from your face.
“And please stop biting your nails and fingers, I hate that I´m the cause of it most of the time,” he sighed as he quickly brushed away the tears on your cheeks before grabbing one of your hands again and took you to the kitchen.
When you reached the kitchen, Yoongi let go of your hand again before ripping of a paper towel from the roll and slightly wetting it with water from the tap. He gently took your hand back in his as he started wiping away some of the dried blood that were around your nails. You were still crying, but silently now as you sniffled every once in a while.
“Yoongi…?” you sniffled out in a weak voice making you hate yourself for not being stronger right now. Yoongi was such a strong person and he deserved someone who could be that too, but then again, you had already broken down in front of him while crying like an idiot just because he came home late. God you were such a weak and pathetic person right now…
“Stop,” Yoongi only said as he grabbed your other hand and started wiping away the blood around your fingernails there too.
“What?” you asked him confused.
“I know you (Y/N) and I can tell that you´re thinking you’re a weak person right now for crying in front of me, but you’re not, okay?” Yoongi answered you as he threw away the paper towel and looked back up at you. He dried the tears off your cheeks once again before gently resting his hands on each of them while leaning in to lay a kiss on your forehead. You reached your hands up and grabbed his hands as he leaned away from you again.
“Yoongi please just tell me what happened on the mission,” you asked him, your voice much calmer now. “You owe me that,” you quickly added, as you knew Yoongi didn´t like to talk about what happens on his mission.
“What happened was that we walked into a trap set up by the gang we were going to make a deal with,” Yoongi told you through a heavy sigh as he really didn´t want to tell you what happened, but he knew he owed you for making you so worried.
“Many years ago we stole some of their territories from them and they recently found out about it. They weren’t happy when it happened as it was some of their biggest territories they had at the time and they didn´t know who had taken it away from them,” he continued as he removed his hands from you face, but he still held on firmly to your hands.
“I don´t know how they found out about it since this was years ago, but they have always wanted those areas back and when they figured out it was us, they set up a sneak attack on us. However, we managed to find out about it soon after we got there and we ended up attacking them before they got the chance to do anything. As a way of removing any traces that we had been there for the police, we set the warehouse on fire. We somehow all ended up losing our phones in the fire so that´s why I didn´t tell you I would be home late,” Yoongi finished telling you as he let out one last deep sigh while he gave you a sorrowful look.
“I´m so sorry (Y/N), I really am and I clearly don´t deserve you and-“ Yoongi started talking frantically before you interrupted him.
“No Yoongi, don’t say that,” you said to him as you let go of his hands and laid them on his cheeks as his own hands moved up to hold your elbows. “I shouldn´t have gotten as worried as I did because I know what I´m getting myself into when I´m with you and I still wouldn´t change it for anything in the whole world because I love you, okay?” you told him as you gave him a small smile that you knew he couldn’t resist even if his life depended on it.
“Now if you wanna make it up to me, which you kind of also owe me, you can come and cuddle me in bed,” you quickly continued in a bit more cheery voice as you started dragging him towards the bedroom.
“Well there´s nothing I would rather do right now other than that, but I could use a shower as I reek of smoke,” Yoongi chuckled at you as he tried to pull his hands out of your grip to go take a shower, but you only tightened your hold on his hands.
“Well you don´t have to tell me that,” you mumbled out, making Yoongi laugh more as he finally managed to retrieve his hands. “But please hurry,” you added as you started pouting at him.
“Well you can always join me if you want too,” Yoongi continued chuckling at you as he started walking towards the bathroom.
“Oh I´m definitely going to do that now that you have offered,” you snickered at him as you jumped over to his side and followed him into the bathroom.
“You´re so adorable right now,” Yoongi only answered as he slightly shook his head at you.
“Oh trust me, I´m not going to be very adorable in that shower,” you taunted at him as you walked in front of him while pulling of your shirt and throwing it to the side, giving him one last glance over your shoulder to see his smug smile. Something told you, you were going to be a little late for your classes this morning.

Never in your life have you ever experienced this type of fuckery. Beat a man to a bleeding, dying mess in an underground fight? He won’t even know what hit him until after it was too late. Dress up and go to a party to seduce an old pig to have him later killed by assassins? That bastard was as good as dead the minute you laid your eyes on him. Kill dozens of people in a mass shooting without getting a single scratch yourself? You could already hear their last dying breath heave out of them. However, this went beyond anything you would ever do.
Your name is (Y/L/N) (Y/N), daughter of (Y/F/L/N) (Y/F/N), the most ruthless and most powerful mafia boss in Seoul probably even Korea, ruling the city with an iron fist. Nobody even dared to get in the way of your father, his mafia or you, and the ones who did apparently had a death wish.
You respected your father more than anything, and when he asked you to do something, you did it without any questions. However this, you resented him for it, maybe even hated him, because he had promised you away to another mafia boss. To be completely exact on who he gave you away to, Min Yoongi, ruler of Bangtan or better known as BTS.
And your dads reason for giving you away? You were his only daughter, his only child to be exact. He needed someone who could take over his gang when he either couldn´t do it himself anymore or died, probably being the last one. And apparently a girl couldn´t do that. Yes, you were highly respected by your fathers gang and they did what you told them to do, but still your father didn´t believe in you to live up to the commands or the family name that was ruling over the city like a dark cloud. Also, there were more reasons as to why you couldn´t take over his mafia.
You wanted to get out.
You didn´t want to partake in the mafia life anymore, you wanted a normal life, with normal friends, a normal education and a normal job.
Your mother were given away by her own family to your father when she was only 24, but unlike you, she grew up with the normal life that you aspired to have. Her father were a casino player who lost all his money to your father in poker at a world famous casino, Shuffle Royal, owned by Park Jimin´s farther, another member of Bangtan who your farther were close to. Park Jimin now owned the casino since his farther died in a mass shooting there a couple of years ago.
Your grandfather ended up with owing your father a lot money, money he didn´t have so they made a deal. Your father got your mother as payment and your grandfather wouldn´t have to deal with any more trouble from his gang. Your grandfather, being the mayor wimp that he is, caged in and gave his own daughter away without a second thought to what it would do to her.
Later that night your mother were kidnapped from her very own bed and forced to sign a marriage contract with your farther. On their “wedding night”, your mother got pregnant with you and she had tried so hard to keep it together and stay strong for you, but that had only helped her so far. Back then, your farther adored and loved you more than anything, but he needed a son. Twice your mother had gotten pregnant and both times, she had a miscarriage pushing her over the edge. You were only 12 years old when the second miscarriage happened and you saw ever so clearly how it broke her and threw her in a black hole of depression and anxiety.
You took care of your mother trying so hard to put her back together; doing everything to bring your loving and caring mother back to you. However, nothing helped and at 13 you had enough, and not wanting to end up like your mother, you made a deal with your farther. The day you turned 21 you were free to leave, to get out and live a normal life, but only being 13 you didn´t see the lies behind your father’s eyes and on your 18th birthday he had given you away.
He needed an heir for his mafia and a powerful one and you being just a girl, he had to give you away to another powerful son from a strong and powerful mafia. And who better than to join together the two most powerful mafias in Seoul.
Now, 2 weeks after your father’s announcement, you were sitting in the back of your father’s car with him, on your way to sign the marriage contract with Min Yoongi and meeting him for the first time. You were staring out of the window ignoring your father sitting beside you. The memory of the announcement were still crystal clear in your mind as if it happened yesterday.
“Y/N, your farther wants to see you, now.”
The booming voice broke you and your mothers giggling. It was your 18th birthday and you were eating cake with your mother in her bedroom. She had said something funny about one of the many maids that worked for your family in the giant mansion that you lived in. It wasn´t even that funny, but it sent your mother into a rare fit of giggles, almost laughing at what had happened and you couldn´t help, but giggle and share the happiness seeping out of you because of it. You could count on one hand how many times she had laughed like that in the last 6 years and it made you feel both extremely happy and painfully sad to hear it.
“It will have to wait for later,” you sneered to Vijin who was standing in the open doorway. He was one of your father´s best men and he was trusted to do anything. He was ruthless and could kill a man with one punch, having done more times than you could count on two hands.
“Y/F/N told me to come and get you,” Vijin said to you. “With force if necessary” and with that he started cracking his knuckles making horrible cracking sounds come from them.
You could feel your mother get tense beside and not wanting her to be any more scared than she already was you reluctantly stood up from the bed to go with Vijin. Before you left her, you took the two plates of leftover cake and placed them on the bedside table. You turned to your mother cradling her face with your hands and giving her a soft kiss on her forehead.
“I´ll be back as soon as possible mother, I promise,” you told her while looking at her softly. She took one of your hands kissing the palm of it before looking back up at you.
“Just be careful my child” she said to you. “And remember, you´re father wants what´s best for you as much as I do” and with that she laid back down on her bed, closing her eyes. You wanted to ask what she meant with your farther, but Vijin was tapping his foot impatiently at the door. You turned around, sending him a death glare, and walked over to follow him to your father’s office. You walked over to the elevator and got in with Vijin. You watched him press number five, the doors closing to get you up to the fifth floor.
The mansion had six stories with the basement. The basement was where all the dirty work of the mafia took place, torturing people to get information out of them and locking them up. First floor was where the fancy parties took place when your father wanted to show off to other mafias while also reminding them who was the boss. Second floor was the living and kitchen area and were all the guest rooms and the library was. It was here you spent most of your time because of homeschooling. The third floor was were you and your parents had your rooms with huge bathrooms and giant walk-in-closet´s. The fifth floor was where the gym was with all the equipment and work-out gear you could ever need. There were machines for strength and cardio work out and a huge boxing ring in the middle to test out you combat skills. It was also here that your father’s men could “treat” themselves with the many prostitutes while consuming large amounts of alcohol and drugs.
Then there was the sixth and final floor. It was here all the more professional work took place, from packing drugs and handling all the weapons, getting them ready to ship them out to customers, to the important meetings. You were rarely allowed up there unless you had to go on a mission with your father and his men.
The elevator came to a halt and the doors opened for you and Vijin to walk out and onto the floor. You walked down a long hallway and past many rooms, all of them with closed doors. However, you didn´t have to see to know what happened behind them. There came loud noises from behind some of the doors your father´s men laughing and yelling while doing their job, but behind some doors there were complete silence and you assumed that nobody were in those rooms since your father´s men couldn´t keep quiet for a very long time unless they were on a mission.
You and Vijin had reached the end of the hall, standing in front of a closed door that led into your father’s office. Vijin laid a hand on your shoulder to prevent you from going in. You quickly shook his hand off of your shoulder glaring at him, but all he did was ignore you, raising his hand to knock on the door.
You could hear a muffled “come in” from behind it and Vijin opened it while giving you a shove on your back to push you inside the room. You were about to turn around to murder him with your eyes, but before you got the chance the door was already closed again.
“Hello Y/N, it´s nice to see you.” You turned around too look at your father. He was sitting behind his big mahogany desk with a glass of scotch in his hand. He pointed at the leather chair in front of him. “Please, have a seat I have something very important to tell you about.”
You relaxed your tense shoulders thinking that your dad only wanted to tell you about a new mission you had to go on. You walked over to the desk and took a seat in the giant, leather chair. You looked up at your father expectantly waiting for what he had to tell you.
“You´re probably wondering why I wanted you to come up here while you were spending some time with your dear mother,” your father said looking at you. You knew he was waiting for you to say something about the interruption, but you stayed silent knowing it wouldn´t get you anywhere useful in this conversation.
When you didn’t say anything, your father sighed placing his glass of scotch on a table coaster and bending down to open one of the drawers in his desk. You heard the drawer open and close and then he sat straight up again, but now he was holding a small box wrapped in black wrapping paper. He reached forward and placed it in front of you before leaning back in his chair. You leaned forward taking the small wrapped box in your hands and looked up at your father rather confusedly.
“What is this?” you asked him not even trying to hide the amusement in your voice. This was definitely not, what you expected when you walked in here. Sure, it was you´re birthday and all, but your father always let your mother take care of giving you you´re presents, never being much around himself since he was a very busy man.
“Why don´t you open it and find out for yourself?” and with that he took his scotch and drank some of it raising his eyebrows slightly, looking at you expectantly. You looked back down at the box and started unwrapping it. When you removed the paper, you saw an emerald green velvet box. Shocked you looked up at your father, you´re mouth slightly agape. It couldn´t possibly be…
No, you quickly thought, looking down at the box again. It´s probably just a pair of earrings. You looked back up at your father to see his own reaction, but all he did was pointing at the box. You quickly looked down again missing the dark, almost sad, look that came over his eyes, but it was gone as soon as it had gotten there.
With shaky fingers, you opened the small velvet box and what you saw astounded you. Because inside there was a ring, but not any type of ring. An engagement ring.
You quickly closed the velvet box throwing it onto the desk in front of your father, quickly standing up.
“NO!” you yelled at him. “No. No, you promised me that I would get out, that I wouldn’t have to stay in this life, that I could get a normal life. YOU PROMISED ME.” You´re whole body were shaking and you were close to tears, this was not what you wanted.
“No, what I promised you was that when you turned 21 you would get out” your father said to you standing up from his chair. “I never promised you anything about giving you away. Besides, you should have known that this was coming, even when you were just 13 years old, you should have known. I need an heir for this gang, one that your mother was unable to give me, so you have to do this whether you want to or not.” Your father was now standing directly in front of you with the velvet box in his hands.
“Mother will never let you get away with this” you sneered at him, but all your father did was stand there and chuckle at you. And that’s when you remembered your mothers last words before you left her.
“And remember, you´re father wants what´s best for you as much as I do.” Your mother’s words echoed through your head when you finally realized what she had meant when she said that to you.
“No,” you choked out finally losing the battle to the tears that were now running down you´re cheeks and falling down onto the carpet. Your father opened the box and took out the engagement ring, reaching forward to grab your hand to put it on you. You took a step backwards, bolting for the door to get out and away from your father, but before you even reached the door, it opened and Vijin stepped inside. He quickly grabbed you, turning you around to face your father who stepped forward grabbing your hand and forcing the ring onto your finger. You could already feel all of the bruises that would be on your arms tomorrow morning from how hard they were holding onto you.
“For god´s sake, will you stop crying now,” your father yelled at you. “You should consider yourself lucky that I´m giving you two weeks of freedom instead of just shipping you off right away.”
You rubbed your upper arms from where the bruises had been for a full week after it all had happened. Vijin was sitting in the front seat next to the driver, ready to shoot anything and anybody who got in your way, and to prevent you from trying to escape one last time. But you weren’t going to try to do that since your father had told you that if you even tried, he weren’t going to hurt you, but your mother. Even though you resented your mother for putting you through what she went through all of those years ago, you couldn´t let her get hurt by Vijin, who you knew your father wouldn’t hesitate to put into work if necessarily.
In those two weeks all of your things were packed and shipped off to god knows where you were going to live. You had begged your mother to try to talk your father out of this, but all she kept saying was that it would be for the best.
Since then, you had spent all of your time in the gym, because there was no way in hell you were going to let this Min Yoongi push you around to do whatever he wanted with you. You couldn´t let him make you all soft towards him, because that would be the breaking point for you. If you were going to survive this, you would have to turn cold and not let anything get near your heart, but then again, when you had been living in a mafia your whole life, it was going to be pretty easy.
You soon felt the car stopping and looked back up. You were holding in front of a giant mansion, although it wasn’t as big and as impressive as your fathers, it still took your breath away because this is where you were going to live for the rest of your life.
Both Vijin and the driver got out of the car, Vijin standing with his gun out ready to shoot if necessarily and the driver going over to open the car door for your father and you.
“We have arrived at Mr. Min´s mansion Sir,” the driver said as soon as your father stepped out. He turned around and stuck his hand out to help you get out of the car, but you quickly pushed it away and stepped out yourself. Your father stared into your eyes silently telling you to behave the best that you could, and you knew what the consequences were if you didn´t. He stuck his arm and you grabbed a hold of it as he let you up the marble stairs to walk through the door and meet your new husband. Vijin followed closely behind you to make sure that you followed.
You walked in through the door that was held open by a butler. The butler, looking rather old with grey hair and a bald spot in the middle of his head, bowed to you and your father and raised his arm to the side to point at a closed set of double doors to the right.
“Hello Mr. (Y/F/L/N) and Miss (Y/L/N), Mr. Min is waiting for you so if you will follow me I will show you to him,” the butler said to you before looking over at Vijin. “I´m sorry Sir, but you can´t bring that in there” he continued, looking down at the gun Vijin was holding. “I´m going to have to ask you to leave it here,” he said pointing at another butler, much younger looking than he did, who stepped forward with a silver tray in his hands. Vijin didn’t react to what the butler said and only starred at him.
“Leave the gun Vijin,” your father told him, not wanting to leave a bad impression of himself or the people that worked for him in Min Yoongi´s very own mansion. Vijin placed the gun he was holding down on the tray, pulled out two more guns from inside his jacket, and placed them beside the first one.
“If you´ll follow me” the first butler said and walked towards the closed double doors. Your father walked behind the butler following him and dragging you with him, Vijin following closely behind you. The butler reached his hands forward and took the handles, opening the double doors and taking two steps forward and one to the side. “Your guests have arrived Mr. Min,” the butler proclaimed. You and your father stepped forward into the room and right there in front you over by the windows, with his back turned to you, stood your future husband.
You couldn’t see what he looked like since he had his back turned to you, but what you could see were his black hair and that he was rather slim build. It surprised you a bit since you had expected an old, fat man to be your husband. He was wearing a black suit that were tailored to perfection to fit him nicely.
“Thank you, Peter, that would be all for now,” he answered the butler who was apparently called Peter. It took you by surprise since you thought he would be called something like James or another more butler-sounding name if that even made sense.
The butler bowed and stepped out of the room closing the doors behind you and leaving you in there with your father, Vijin and Min Yoongi.
“I´m glad that we finally get to meet each other, Miss (Y/L/N); I think we are going to have a pleasant life together, don´t you think?” Yoongi said to you, finally turning around to reveal himself to you. And girl, were you surprised when he did.

When you woke up the next morning, you were ready to tell the first maid or butler that showed up, to dig a whole and burry you in it. The hangover you had was, by far, the worst you ever had and you regretted with every fiber of your being that you hadn’t listen to Yoongi and drank some water before you went to bed. As you tried to get out of bed, you felt something heavy on top of you. You opened your eyes and squinted them as the sunlight shone from the windows and straight into you face. When you were finally able to see just a little bit you could see that you were lying under the duvet, which was funny since you didn’t pull them over yourself in your drunken state last night.
As quickly as you could, which wasn’t very quick, you got out of bed and walked over to a door were you assumed the bathroom would be behind. As you slightly staggered over to the closed door, you felt nausea taking over your lower abdomen, slowly moving up through your system, and you were now praying, for dear life, that the bathroom was behind that door. You opened the door and just your luck, right there was the bathroom.
You quickly scurried over to the toilet, lifted the lid and threw up all the contents in your stomach, which was mostly fluids since you hadn´t eaten much last night. You tried holding up your hair, the best that you could, when you suddenly felt a pair of hands remove them, and hold it up for you. You tried protesting, but since you were still vomiting you couldn´t do much, but to let it happen. When you were finally done one of the hands, holding up your hair, moved and handed you some paper towels. You gladly took them, dried the vomit around you mouth, and then threw it into the toilet.
“Well this wasn’t exactly how I expected my morning after my wedding to go,” a voice from behind you slightly chuckled. You jumped as you realized that it was Yoongi who had come to your aid. You quickly jumped up while flushing out the toilet and tried walking away from him. “I take it that you´re not used to drinking so much?” he asked with amusement clear in his voice.
“Shut up,” you mumbled out as you were walking over to the shower. Then, before you could stop yourself, you turned around to face him again. “What are you even doing in here? How did you know I was awake? And stop calling yesterday our wedding, it wasn´t a wedding,” you said a bit louder.
Yoongi only chuckled at your questions, walking over to you. “To answer your first question, you looked like you needed some help. The second question, you´re not very quit when you wake up in the morning, but I guess that has something to do with your hangover. And why wouldn´t you call yesterday a wedding, huh Sweet cheeks?” as he said the last part he caressed your cheek that most people would have called loving, but you called it nerve wracking. You quickly pushed his hand away from your face and took a step back.
“First of all, drop the pet names,” you almost growled at him. “Second of all, we signed a contract in your living room, that´s not a wedding. Third of all, tell your maids or whoever the hell was in my room in the middle of the night, to stay out when I´m sleeping.”
“I´m guessing you´re referring to why you woke up with the duvet covers over you?” Yoongi asked you and you nodded as an answer. “Well that was me and not the maids. I came to check up on you twice, while you were sleeping, to make sure you were okay. You did drink an awful lot yesterday.”
“You were watching me sleep like some type of creep?” you asked raising one eyebrow at this.
“I wasn´t watching you like a creep. I came in, made sure you were okay and then walked back out again. Any husband would have done that for his wife when she goes to bed pissed drunk,” Yoongi retorted back at you.
“Whatever just get out, I need to take a shower,” you said to him as you were pointing towards the door to signal for him to get out.
“Fine, but when you´re done Peter will be taking you to the kitchen for breakfast,” Yoongi said to you. He turned around and walked towards the door. “There are also a few more people you need to meet while being down there.” He had now reached the door and was about to step out when he turned around to look at you one last time. “Oh and you should just get used to the pet names, Baby Girl. I enjoy seeing you all flustered by them,” and with that he winked at you and walked out, closing the door behind him.
You let out a loud groan as you felt your cheeks turn a bright red color. You turned on the shower and then quickly got in to get ready to go down to the kitchen.
***
You walked out of your walk-in-closet, which conveniently had a door leading directly into your bathroom, and into the small living room and saw Peter siting on the couch reading the newspaper. You were dressed in a pair of black ripped skinny jeans, a black T-shirt and your black converse that was your own clothes even though, the closet had been full of new ones and you still hadn´t unpacked any of your stuff.
As you got closer to the butler, he looked up at you giving you an elevator look from head to toe which made him scoff at you. You raised your eyebrows questionably at his reaction to you, silently asking him what was wrong.
“I´ll never understand you young people with your clothes that has wholes all over them,” he sighed as he stood up, folding the newspaper and laying it on the coffee table. He started walking towards the double doors and looked over his shoulder. “Now chop, chop and follow along we don´t have all day and you certainly don´t want to keep Yoongi waiting.” At this, you quickly jumped over to Peter, who had already reached the doors, and followed him out of the room and towards the kitchen, wherever the hell that was.
“Peter, can I ask you a question, well two actually?” you asked him as you finally had caught up to him, for an old man he certainly was fast.
Peter glanced at you out of the corner of his eye before answering. “Sure, ask away.”
“Do you know who I´m going to meet in the kitchen and is there a gym anywhere in this mansion?” you asked him. You would be lying if you said you weren’t starting to get nervous about the people you were going to meet. With that being said, if you were going to survive Yoongi and his never-ending pet names for you, you needed a gym to let off some of your steam or the next pet name he threw at you wasn´t going to end well.
You and Peter had now reached the elevator were the doors again opened automatically and you both stepped in. He pressed a button, and the elevator started moving and turned towards you.
“I do know the people you´re going to meet, but have patience my child you will soon find out who they are. And there is a gym on the same floor as your room that you can use anytime you want,” he continued. You slightly scoffed at what he said to you, which made him raise a single eyebrow at you.
“I´m not a child. I´m 18 years old, I´m an adult,” you said to him. At this, Peter only huffed out a small chuckle and you swore that you saw him roll his eyes at you a little.
Before you got the chance to ask him about his reaction, the elevator doors opened and Peter walked out with you quickly following him. You didn´t walk for very long when Peter suddenly turned right and disappeared through open double doors. You followed behind him and walked straight into a huge kitchen.
As you looked around you could see Yoongi, the six men you met yesterday, and three women, scattered all over the kitchen.
Jin was standing at a kitchen island in the middle of the room with a woman standing close to him and Hoseok and another woman sitting in front of them on tall bar stools. At a big dining table, Yoongi sat talking with the rest of the guys except Namjoon who was standing off to the side with the third woman. Just as you were about to announce that you were here, Yoongi stood up and walked towards you.
“There you are Sweetie, I take it you are feeling better now than earlier this morning?” he asked you, reaching his hand out to take yours. You took a step back and accidently bumped into Peter who gently pushed you back to Yoongi. He caught you hand, holding you close, before you could step away from him again. The touch sent a shiver through you that you tried your best to keep it hidden since all the members were in the room. You didn´t want to look weak in front of them.
At his question, you let out a huff. “If you with ´feeling better´ mean I only feel dead and not like an already rotten corpse, then yes, I do feel much better,” you said with a voice practically dripping with sarcasm.
“Jesus Yoongi, were did you find this little ball of joy?” a female voice spoke up. You looked up to see that it was the woman standing beside Jin at the kitchen island. She had long black hair and she looked like a super model. She started walking towards you, and Yoongi took a step back from you so you could greet her properly. She stuck her hand out and you took it to give it a shake.
“You must be (Y/N),” she continued as she let go of your hand. “I´m Sora and I´m the actual doctor and medic in this gang.”
“YAH, just because you have a degree doesn´t mean I´m not a doctor either,” Jin yelled from the kitchen island where he had started cutting fruit. At this Sora only laughed.
“Anyway, I´m Jin´s wife.”
You were taken aback by this new information. You thought Yoongi would be the only one who was married. You looked over at Yoongi confused and he only chuckled at you.
“Don´t be so surprised. I thought you would actually be happy that there are other females to keep you company here,” he said to you. “And also Namjoon and Hoseok also managed to convince a pretty lady to stay with them until death do them part.”
“Well that was a nice way to put things Yoongi,” the woman sitting beside Hoseok said as she jumped down and walked over to you and you noticed she had a slight spring in her steps. She had light brown hair with pastel pink stipes in it.
“Hey, I´m Sohee and I´m Hoseok´s wife and I help him with handling, packing and shipping out drugs.”
“Well nothing screams romantic date quite like packing up drugs,” you said sarcastically to her.
“Hey Kid,” Hoseok snapped and you looked over to him. “Be careful with how you speak to my wife.” He had a cold stare in his eyes and the smiles he gave you yesterday were completely gone from his face.
Sohee started waving her hand at him. “Hobi it´s fi-“
“I´m not a kid” you quickly said, interrupting what Sohee was saying to her husband. She slowly turned back towards you and you could feel your blood run cold with the stare she was giving you.
“Hey kiddo,” she said pushing her forefinger hard against your shoulder. “Talk back to me and I can easily handle that, but I would advise you to never interrupt me when I´m speaking.” She was taller than you were and she was now towering over you, making you feel very small but you refused to let her intimidate you.
You slapped her hand away from you and took a step forward, but Yoongi took a hold of you shoulder to keep you from provoking the situation any further.
“Calm down (Y/N), right now” he growled out in a low voice and stepping in between you and Sohee.
“Oh my Yoongi, she has a temper this one. It´s going to be interesting seeing her on missions,” a voice came from behind Yoongi. You looked around him and saw the woman standing with Namjoon looking over at you curiously. She started walking towards you and Sohee and Sora walked back to where they were before greeting you.
The woman had very dark purple hair and she had a mischievous glint in her eyes. You could already tell you wouldn´t like her very much.
“I´m Irene, married to Namjoon and I´m the one leading the brothel at the Shuffle Royal casino,” she said to you, and you knew you were definitely not going to like her if she was anything like her husband. Namjoon had been sending cold stares after you the minute you stepped through the door and you knew very well that he didn´t think very highly of you.
You looked up at Irene and sent her a smirk full of mischief. “Oh so you´re leading it as in you´re the best slut there or you just command everyone around?” you asked her and you knew you had taken it way too far.
“HEY-!” Namjoon yelled walking towards you, but Irene quickly assured him that he didn´t have to come over to you.
“It´s okay Joonie, I can take a joke,” she said to him and turned back to you smiling sweetly, too sweetly. “I´m the one leading the brothel as in I command everyone around, but if you keep up the attitude you´ll soon see how I command them all around, my dear child” she said as she wrapped her hand around your neck, gently stroking it with her thumb. And that was it for you.
You wrapped your right arm around her neck while locking your right leg around the back of her knees and swung her, face down, to the floor in a matter of a second. You pressed your knee in between her shoulders to prevent her from standing up again.
“If you´re ever condescending towards me again, I swear-!” you started yelling at her, but were interrupted when someone roughly grabbed the collar of your T-shirt and pulled you up. You were met with Yoongi´s cold stare and you could hear some yelling from behind him. You looked over his shoulder and saw Jungkook and Hoseok struggling to keep Namjoon away from, probably, beating you to a pulp. You could see Sohee and Sora helping Irene back to her feet again.
“Peter,” Yoongi said in a low growl to the butler. “I think (Y/N) is still a little unclear in her head from the hangover. Will you bring her back up to her room and I´ll send a maid up with some food?” he asked as he let go of you and the butler came into your view.
“I´ll do it right away,” Peter answered him and gently, but firmly, took ahold of your arm leading you away from the kitchen, but you still managed to see how everyone were glaring at you and you instantly regretted what you had just done.
***
You were sitting on your bed trying to compose yourself. You wanted more than anything to go back home and you had only been married to Yoongi and living with him for 24 hours. Peter was currently sitting in the living room making sure you didn´t go anywhere. A maid had delivered a plate of food consisting of eggs, bacon and toast and a small bowl with fruit in it, but you hadn´t touched any of it.
30 minutes had gone by since what happened in the kitchen when you heard a knock on your door. You didn´t answer since you didn´t feel like talking to anyone, but the knocking continued and it was starting to annoy you.
“What?!” you yelled out. The door opened and you were surprised to see Jin walk into your room.
“Wow easy now, it´s just me” he said closing the door after him. He walked over to where you were sitting on your bed and sat down on the edge. “I know that it´s hard right now with getting married and moving to a place you´ve never been before and meeting a lot of new people, but you can´t start snapping and attacking people just because they make a bit of fun of you,” he said now looking up at you.
You turned around to face him. “I don’t like when people are being condescending towards me and that Irene girl were definitely being condescending and embarrassing me in front of everybody,” you snapped back at him, still feeling tense from what had happened.
“Irene did take it a step to far, but you definitely took it ten steps further and it´s going to be pretty hard to have people trust you after that, but can I tell you a secret?” he asked you and you nodded, silently telling him to continue. “You looked pretty fierce when you took Irene down, but don´t tell anyone or else I´m going to be the one on the kitchen floor.”
You tried stifling a small laugh, but it still managed to get out making Jin smile back at you. You felt a bit more at ease now in his presence.
“How long have you and Sora been married and was it arranged?” you hesitantly asked him wanting to get to know him a bit better.
“It wasn’t arranged, no. We got married out of love strangely enough,” he answered you while rubbing his chin.
“Why is that so strange? You should marry out of love and not because someone tells you to,” you said to him.
“Like with you and Yoongi?” Jin asked you.
“Yeah, like with me and Yoongi,” you sighed out. “I don´t know if he told you, but I was supposed to get away from a life in a mafia and have a normal life, but instead I get a life sentence.” Jin looked at you concerned and you quickly waved your hand at him. “How did you and Sora meet?” you asked him to get the attention away from you and back to him again.
“We met when we were both studying to become doctors. She wasn´t born in the mafia life which is why it´s strange she wanted to marry me, but just knowing me back then she would be in danger and I wanted to keep her safe,” Jin answered you. “I never managed to finish school, but she did and I couldn´t be anymore happy for her and a bit jealous to be honest,” he laughed at the last part smiling as he recalled the happy memories.
You couldn´t help, but to smile at what he was telling you because this was exactly what you had wanted to experience the many times you had daydreamed about getting away. Then something started gnawing at the back of your head. If he loved Sora and wanted to keep her safe then why would he marry her and drag her into this life? If you had met someone that you loved as much as Jin loved Sora then you would have told him to stay away from you so he wouldn´t get dragged down with you.
“But if you wanted to keep Sora safe wouldn´t it be better to stay away from her?” you asked him before you could stop yourself.
“What do you mean exactly?” Jin asked you back. He had a confused look on his face now instead of the handsome smile from before.
“Well being part of a mafia isn´t very safe or ideal for a marriage and if you truly wanted to keep her safe then you wouldn´t let her get involved in this type of life and tell her to stay away from you,” you answered him. “And besides, it isn´t really the most romantic date in the world to be removing bullets from your fellow gang members.” You had meant for the last part to be a joke, but Jin was far from laughing and was scowling at you now. You quickly wiped the smirk of your face.
“Let me just tell you something,” he growled in a low voice while pointing a shaking finger at you. You could clearly see how he was trying his best to control his anger, but it slowly got the best of him. “I love my wife with all of my heart and more and don´t you for a second dare to think that I wouldn´t do anything to keep her safe, because I will. If I could have stayed away from her back then I would have, but it was already too late and I´m just lucky to still be able to give her everything any other husband would give his wife. And you know what? I find it really funny that you hate when people condescend you, but you are being condescending towards me right now!” He was full on yelling at you now having stood up from the bed and waving his hands around like crazy.
“Jin no, I wasn´t trying to-“ you tried telling him you didn´t doubt his actions for a second, but he wouldn´t let you finish.
“If you ever pull of something like you did in the kitchen with Irene again or bring my wife, the other members or Yoongi in any danger I can assure you that you won´t be staying. You´re the newbie and you might have grown up in the biggest mafia in Korea, but you don´t know a single thing about this gang and I promise you, it´s going to take a long ass time for any of us to start trusting you, and one more thing. You keep saying how you´re not a child, but what you did today just proves how much you still are one.” Before you had time to react to any of the things Jin was yelling at you, he was already out the door slamming it behind him.
You were alone in your room again, and you were full on crying and no matter how much you tried, you couldn’t make the tears stop falling, because he was right. You were the newbie and you had no right to do the things that you did to Irene and the things you had said to Jin. You acted like a child despite how you tried telling everybody that you weren’t and all you wanted to do was act like one and go back home to your mother. You wanted to crawl up under the duvet covers with her and hide from the rest of the world like you did when you were little. You had been the strong one for so long for her sake, but now you were alone and you were falling apart.
***
After your ´little´ breakdown, you were now standing in the gym that Peter had showed you the way to. You knew he had heard how Jin had been yelling at you. He had a sympathetic look in his eyes when you had demanded that he´d show you the way to the gym.
So here you where, punching and kicking a boxing sandbag as if it had just insulted you. You had wrapped white bandages around your hands and wrists to protect them from the hard leather surface on the sandbag. Boxing and hand-to-hand combat was where your strengths lied, since people never expected you to be very strong with your small and petite frame. The best part about it was seeing your opponent realize how screwed they were when it was too late for them to back out of the fight.
You were sweating profusely as you were punching the sandbag with your right hand multiple times in the same spot when you suddenly heard a loud cracking sound come from your knuckles. A searing pain followed with the loud crack and you removed your hand from the sandbag and looked down. A dark red spot was now coloring the white bandages and it was spreading very fast.
“Crap!” you yelled out as you untied the bandages to look at the damage on your knuckles. Despite the bandages, they were all starting to bruise up and the two to the right were covered in blood the skin around them were all cracked open.
“For a girl your size you sure as hell know how to kick some ass,” a laughing voice came from behind you. You quickly whipped around to see Jimin and Jungkook walk into the gym, both wearing workout clothes. Jungkook was the one who had talked to you as he smirked, looking down at your hand. He stopped in front of you, but Jimin continued walking over to a locker, by the wall, and opened it, pulling out a first-aid kid. He walked back over and placed the first-aid kid on a bench, opened it and pulled out cleaning wipes and a band-aid to help you.
“I can do it myself,” you said to him while reaching out to take the supplies from him. However, he only glared at you and roughly pulled your hand to him so he could have a proper look at it.
“You should be thankful that I´m even considering helping you after the stunt you pulled this morning on Irene,” he snarled back at you as he, surprisingly gently, wiped off the blood and cleaned out the wound on your knuckles before putting a big white band-aid on them.
You muttered out a quiet “thank you” to him, but he ignored you while packing up the first-aid kid and putting it away.
“So,” Jungkook said making you turn around to look at him. “Now that you´re all cleaned up how about you show us what you´re really made out of, hm?” He looked at you with an expecting look in his eyes and with that stupid smirk still plastered on his face.
“Jungkook…” Jimin said in a warning tone, glaring over at him. Jungkook only laughed back at him.
“What? I wanna see if she has other tricks up her sleeve like the one she pulled off with Irene,” Jungkook retorted back at him before looking back at you. “Now, shall we?” He pointed over to a big blue matt lying on the floor a bit away from you. It was a matt for training hand-to-hand combat fighting on. You looked back at him and only smirked as your answer and walked over to the matt with Jungkook following closely behind you. You both stepped onto it standing in front of each other.
“Oh and Kiddo,” Jungkook said to you making you fume at the pet name. “Just because you´re a girl doesn´t mean I´ll go easy on you.” And with that he launched at you, going for a punch directly to your face. You quickly jumped to the side as you with your left hand gripped his fist and with your right took a hold of his elbow. You twisted his arm down to your left thigh and kneed him in his crotch. He coughed a little at your move, but quickly composed himself as he stood up and spun around making you lose your grip on his arm. Before you could manage to jump away from him, he had landed a punch to your left ribs making your breath hitch. He swung his fist back again to go in for another punch to your face and you barely avoided it, feeling it graze against your scalp. You decided to go with one of your tricks, going in for a punch from the right, but when he moved up to try and block it you went left, punching him directly in the chess. He lost some of his balance and you saw an opening to go in for a back kick to his shoulder. You spun around lifting your right leg, but he had somehow regained his balance and caught your ankle standing fully up. Jungkook was a lot taller than you were and your leg came up at an uncomfortable height, making you almost lose your balance, but you quickly composed yourself. You tried yanking your foot back, but he only tightened his grip around your ankle.
“What´s wrong, Kiddo,” he smirked at you. “Don´t have any other tricks up your sleeve?” he asked before he gripped your foot with his other hand and twisted your leg around making you lose your balance completely and falling to the ground hard. Before you had time to react, Jungkook was hovering over you keeping your legs in place with his own. With his left hand, he caught both of yours, forcing them above your head and pressing his right forearm up against your throat. He kept applying pressure to your throat when you heard a yell from the side.
“Get off of her Jungkook, NOW!” He quickly let go of you and stood up. You looked to the side to see were the sound had come from and saw Yoongi walking in long strides towards you. You sat up straight away, but you were still a little winded from your fight with Jungkook and decided to sit down for a minute to catch your breath.
Yoongi looked furious and glared at Jungkook. “Go find Namjoon and the others, were going on a mission soon and he´ll fill you in on the details,” he seethed at him and Jungkook quickly scurried away with Jimin in his heels. Yoongi turned towards you and you were surprised to see a much softer look in his eyes now. He reached a hand down to help you up from the floor, but you pushed it away and stood up from the matt, walking away from him.
“Would you relax a little, it was just a friendly fight,” you hissed at him, but you didn´t get very far away as he griped onto your hand.
“No I won´t ´relax a little´. Jungkook´s our most skilled combat fighter and you could have gotten serious injured since you´re just a little girl…” Yoongi said, but you quickly cut him off.
“For the last time, I`m not a little girl or a child or a kid,” you snarled back at him. It was getting harder to control your anger. You were tired of being treated as if you were five years old, even though you had acted like one sometimes. “I´m an adult, a grown up woma-“
“Oh please,” Yoongi scoffed as he interrupted you. “You´re 18 years old, you´re still just a child and start laying of the attitude. It´s getting annoying and just proves how you´re definitely not an adult.”
That was the last straw for you. You pulled your hand out of his grip and walked straight up to him. Even though he was, almost a full head taller than you were, you could clearly see how you were intimidating him a little by your quick actions.
“I´m not a child, I never was. I was born in a mafia and trained, to survive this kind of life, ever since I could walk. I had to take care of my mother and look after her instead of the other way around as it should be.” You were yelling now and Yoongi was desperately trying to calm you down, but you didn´t let him affect you. You had too much anger build up over the last few weeks and you let it all out now.
“I wanted to get out of the mafia life and have a normal life, but instead I get married of to another mafia leader who´s also 7 YEARS OLDER THAN ME!”
You didn´t realize that you were crying until Yoongi was wiping the tears off your cheeks with his thumb. His eyes were filled with pity, sadness and worry, but you quickly pushed yourself past him as you felt more tears fall from your eyes. You walked towards the doors to leave when you heard Yoongi call after you. You stopped, but didn´t turn around to look at him.
“Go up to your room and get cleaned up and meet me in the meeting room with the others. We´re going on a mission tomorrow night and you´re coming along.”

This was nice, You and Riko remember each other at a time before things became....messy and they both know how things are now. But this scene was really nice in a bittersweet kinda way. And while the end result is obvious its good to see the closure. Also yeah good atmosphere you have here (insert thumbs up) I liked this blip also
Glad you like it Anon. There will always be a special place for You in Riko’s heart but what’s in the past is in the past. She has moved on, andshe wants You to be happy too.
