The fashionable rat who supposedly is Heysel snif-snif-snif-snifs him, before climbing him to settle on the brim of his hat. The knife is still in her mouth.

So quick...! He's leant forward to take a closer look but she's just as swiftly started making her way to the top, remarkably nimble despite carrying something roughly her length. Now he can't see her at all, only feel the light weight over the edge of his hat. Hands reach up to grasp but she is left alone, instead careful fingers grab at each side of her platform, and rather than lift it he keeps it at the same level as he bends his knees and crouches his head, stepping back with enough coordination to pose no threat to her balance and straightening up once more, bringing his eyes at nearly the height of hers. On his face is an open grin of amusement and awe alike.

"Well, well. Look at you." His voice is sweet and soft, suitably tender for something so small, not so for what she carries. It's nevertheless a tone that seeks to inspire comfort, a sensation of safety accompanied by that tinge of delight. His voice says it all: all his attention is hers. "Such a pretty thing. Where did you get that?"

It is, perhaps, a little odd that he hasn't moved his lips at all. They only do when he gets a little closer still and plants a kiss upon her tiny head, between her ears.
