Late Night quick thing (New Age Sillies)
Bad news: That joke post about including Reset + Orchid is definitely not canon. (I legit got sad thinking about Reset being in a universe where Orchid isn't- because their stories are so so intertwined- but Nightmare 100% would NOT risk the whole twins exploding Error's soul thing.)
Good news: This means I COULD include Kane (Reset's older brother who usually dies in timelines where Reset is born) and use it to develope his character a bit more! Also! Perhaps a Blue Ă Dream kiddo is finally in the stars for me to design?
#new age au#really enjoying the idea of Reaper + Geno having an heir at some point (and them sending that heir over to Night's kingdom for#exposure to other places as well as to hang with his third cool knight dad who's hard at work đ)#Kane has little to no development besides being a perfect angel (foil to Reset's eventual turn to poor choices) so I'd love to do#to him what I do to every oc of mine. (Namely: Throw them into the Kingdom and see what they do.)#oh! and I could see Blue and Dream (beloved boys) listening to the warnings of possible complications if they try to have a lil babybones#and Dream deciding he'd take the risk and carry the growing soul#(<- though tbf this is MANY years into the future and they'd be well established knights of the realm)#i'm not evil so they *would* manage to avoid the twins curse and have a singular beautiful babybones#they'd get raised partially on the move but stay behind with Night and Error if the two had a more dangerous mission#and grow up to be an obnoxiously powerful warrior following after their dads#(but they'd probably be hesitant to follow into the footsteps of being a knight and might go on a quest with friends before choosing a#final path for themselves)#<- Most spoiled rotten kid ever. courtesy of Nightmare and Error and all their extended family <3#oh last note. Ancha has me cracking up w/ ideas for Cross potentially meeting someone and I was beamed w/ an old ship request post I saw and#I think it'd be funny to include Lust in here somehow... (probably call him smth else as a nickname but y'know-)#like. He works in the city around the castle as some sort of... idk tailor? and he's been making things for Nightmare for years without#knowing because Ccino always was discreet about the orders and providing measurements + always tipped well so it was none of his business#but one day it's like. before a big announcement ceremony or smth and Ccino drags Cross in by the scruff because no one can get him to get#clothes that actually fit aside from armor (hc he steals the others clothes a lot and wears 1 shirt until it's threadbare)#so Ccino makes him go to Lust and Lust is able to get him fitted for sone new outfits because. well. Lust doesn't do much but he's very very#handsome and Cross is super easily flustered and shy around new people and he's awkward and aughhh.#and then he thinks about the interaction for the next month before deciding he's going to ask Ccino to go back there again.#and Lust likes dressing Cross up in new outfits (everyone thinks it's great Cross is loosening up and meeting new friends cuz Lust introduce#s him to people in town) and it takes forever for Cross to get over his worries and ask Lust out to a ride on his horse (romantic. of course#) and Lust agrees because he's charmed.#and the best part would be Cross *actually* manages to keep it a secret. like. no one finds out until one morning Killer bursts into Cross'#room to wake him for surprise training and it's Cross. the weird Dog. and- holy shit did Cross have someone over???#Cross pulls the cool ones frfr đ#it's just a casual thing between them with little plot relevance or drama I think. just a chill lil relationship đ

i LIVE for your sniperscout art they're so silly it feeds me so well :'') mind sharing headcanons or just random thoughts you have abt them?
sorry anon for taking a whole year to reply to this i took all the time to âstudyâ them and write what i like about them or basically how i hc this ship :,> (also trying to come up with new hc that i havenât read before)
My Sniperscout headcanons/thoughts:
- Sniper, the stoic assassin with a heart as cold as ice, had never expected to have his life turned upside down by a ball of energy and bad puns named Scout. He was the first one to develop feelings. His job consisted of a lot of staring, and well his sniper rifle wasnât the only thing with a long scope, Sniperâs gaze would linger on Scout, tracing the messy dirty blonde hair, his athletic form and the way his lips moved like a silent film, noticing details about him more than a simple teammate would.
- The loudmouth, messy-haired kid was everything Sniper wasn't: impulsive, loud, and always looking for trouble. Yet, somehow, Scout would find his way into Sniper's quiet life, his laughter chasing away the monotony of Sniper's days, filling the silence with his made up stories and infectious enthusiasm.
- Sniper refuses to admit his growing fondness for the ball of energy that had invaded his quiet world. Scoutâs jokes might have been bad but they chased away the deafening solitude of Sniperâs days.
- Scout, on the other hand, being the you youngest and loudest, craved attention he barely found from his brothers let alone the 8 mercs he worked with. But with Sniper, he wasnât ignored he was listened to, Sniper listened really listened. He would even laugh at his lame jokes! In Sniperâs silence, Scout didnât have to fight for space or attention. He was simply allowed to be himself, bad jokes and all and Sniper would just smile. Slowly a different kind of warmth would blossom into Scout chest, a warmth beyond friendship.
- Sniper actually enjoyed learning about American culture from Scout. He would develop a surprising fondness for baseball and apple pie, though heâd never admit it.
- Regardless of the fact that they have only a three year age gap (yes my hc is that Scout is 26 and Sniper is 29) they felt like creatures from different planets!: Sniper, the farm boy raised on outdated ways, and Scout, the city kid with a modern swagger (lol) yet this difference somehow only strengthened their bond.
- A bond that was fueled by shared laughter, puns, Aussie slangs, and a mutual dislike for Spy. They loved to elaborate pranks on him and call it a date, much to the Frenchman's chagrin lol.
- Despite his "Professional with Standards" persona, Sniper would feel like a lost puppy when Scout wasnât around during their off hours, subconsciously fidgeting and always looking for him. Yet refuses to call himself soft.
- Sniper, a man of action, would expressed his affection through whatever small gifts he can give, he would bring funny-shaped rocks, odd plants or flowers he found in the woods to Scout as a souvenir of his lil adventures in the woods, and Scout would usually mock his weird finds playfully yet would collect them all on the shelf of his dorm.
- Scout, meanwhile, being the hopeless romantic is, had his own unique way of flirting, his goofy sweetness and awkward affections (0 rizz, but weirdly endearing) melting even the frostiest corners of Sniperâs heart.
- He'd always make up excuses to be alone with Sniper, "accidentally" forgetting his backpack in the van just for an extra ride back. (i was actually working on a comic about this as a continuation of Scout forgetting his necklace at Sniperâs van). He'd linger in doorways, his hands brushing against Sniper's in a clumsy attempt for physical contact.
- The first time their skin met in a hug, Sniper, being a touch starved man, melted like a hot candle. He became addicted to the warmth.
- He never initiates contact himself since it never was his style, but eagerly cling when Scout did. He'd hold on like a koala bear, clinging to the warmth like a lifeline lol.
- Scout, on the other hand, thrived on physical connection. From fist bumps on the battlefield to playful slaps on the bum (earning a hilarious reaction from Sniper every time), he craved it all
- Although Sniper hated PDA, a weakness exposed by Scout's touch. Scout, initially confused by the battlefield indifference followed by clingy cuddles in their private moments, eventually understood and learned to cherish this weird rhythm of intimacy.
- Sniper had a secret passion for knitting, he often knits sweaters, hats and socks for Scout, another way to gift Scout and to silently demonstrate his love. (i think this one is basically canon lol)
- Sniperâs van had become their mobile love nest, cuddling under the moonlight, sharing stories and dreams until they fall asleep.
- Whenever Scout's boasting gets out of hand, Sniper would silence him with a quick, playful kiss. Scout, flustered but secretly delighted, pretends to be annoyed but can't hide the blush creeping up his neck.
- Sniper who loves to show his gruff stoic exterior, gets all flustered and shy when Scout gives him genuine compliments. Heâd mumbles something under his breath and hides behind his hat not used to being complimented, revealing a new weakness for Scout to exploit.
- Scout, despite his outward bravado, secretly worries about Sniper when he's on dangerous missions. He would hide it by throwing playful punches and jokes, but his eyes betray his concern.
- They fit together like puzzle pieces. Sniper, the touch-starved soul, finds solace in Scout's constant physical affection, his warmth a contrast to the coldness of his sniper's lonely lifestyle. And Scout, the braggart with a hidden insecurities, finds comfort in Sniper's quiet protectiveness.
hope that wasnât too boring to read :>

Ughhh I'm so sorry to be an ass but I see so much popular art on tumblr and around the internet that really woobifies both Laios and Kabru and their relationship, especially when they're together.... You guys are aware that Laios eats monsters the way people would like. Eat animals, right? He's not crazy or stupid or sadistic or anything. He has a special interest and it's monsters.
Furthermore, his past having himself and his sister be shunned for their interests in the abnormal made him develop a distaste for humanity. Laios has just thought monsters were way cooler since he was a kid, and Falin really looked up for him for his dedication to his interests and personal code of moral ethics. He never loved his sister less for her abilities, he admired her for what made her different. Because he's fucking awesome and they're autistic as hell.... they both went through so damn much. Laios never fit into the military, into his hometown, he barely fit into most groups of adventurers since he met Marcille, chilchuck, and company, and two of the members of that original party didn't care enough to join him. His feeling of worthlessness to his friends in the beginning of the story are enough to make him imagine a whole scenario in between major chapters where he was the one who was eaten.. and he thought nobody except Falin would care enough to save him.
Point being Laios has a much richer character that goes ALONGSIDE his special interest in monsters. Which honestly is more comparable to, like. A fucking biologist. Not a monsterfucker, not a cannibal, none of that shit. Monsterfuckers are cool as a monsterfucker but he's not one.. he's more like a furry man.... And he's not stupid he's just. Autistic. Why are we making autistic characters with a silly side seem stupid? Everyone has dumb moments sure but like.. he's really smart guys... there's a reason he's such a good leader outside of his ability to listen to his party members. Don't fall for the mischaracterization of Laios that his party members originally set for him before major important arcs guys...
And Kabru. Oh my God. Kabru. Kabru is also autistic but for humans, social interactions and culture... he's a nerd for politics and the humanities, and I'll avoid saying much more to avoid spoilers for non-manga readers but you'll see more of that as time passes. But he's not the type to be easily flustered. Laios only gets to him, not even because he's that difficult to read, but because he catches him off guard. He's an interesting critter, bro. And Kabru definitely sees that. It takes time to respect that, but within a period of time he learns to see him as a relatively competent adventurer and places a lot of faith from him. On some level, this guy has learned to understand this very interesting autistic guy who is forward with his feelings that a very autistic Kabru hasn't learned to understand. That's what makes their relationship so cool, man. He's not cold in reality (though people may perceive him that way due to backstory motivations and attitude within the dungeon), but he's a lot more serious than this... c'mon guys.. let's be a little real here please.... at this point I barely like Labru anymore because they've been so like. Babied. Woobified. Whatever the word is man. I'm starting to appreciate their friendship more as a friendship now because I just think the beautiful qualities I saw in their romance have been sort of overlooked or misinterpreted. Nowadays I just think their platonic relationship is beautiful. Sighs.
Farcille is awesome though and these girls are awesome slay
-
Edit: hey guys, I wanna address a couple of things here! For one, this isn't intended to be ship hate. Labru is a perfectly valid ship - rather, I'm just not a fan of how deep the mischaracterization of both characters runs, and how it results in the subsequent babying of their relationship. While it's driven me personally away from the romance a bit, I have no problem with the ship itself. Additionally, Farcille has its own issues with woobification that could use some addressing, I just haven't had to see as much mischaracterization on my feeds. Maybe in a future post I'll address some of my personal peeves with many people's characterization of Farcille, ESPECIALLY Falin.

I can understand a silly workplace comedy about pirates not being everyoneâs jam but I really canât understand the amount of queer people I see hating on ofmd.
like for one thing most of the debates turn into gatekeeping queerness (which I think has a lot more to do with the ages of the main couples than actual concerns about authentic representation but thatâs another post) and the rest are just hateful because it doesnât directly name or label itâs queer characters but like why do we need that at this point?? listen I love heartstopper with all my heart but it is exhausting to watch them explain queer identities sometimes (even though I do think itâs super useful for younger audiences Iâm just not the target demographic!) and ofmd is an explicit, violent, adult show that doesnât NEED to explain itâs characterâs identities.
queer people past their 30âs are usually very well aware of their queerness and have had (hopefully) plenty of time to go through the arc of discovering that. so why would we need to see Stede or Lucius or Ed going through turmoil because theyâre attracted to men when they have already come to terms with that at this point in their lives?? i for one find it so fucking refreshing to watch a show where the characters being queer is not their main arc, they just ARE queer and life is still happening to and around them. maybe thatâs just the millennial gay in me talking, but it gets emotionally exhaustive to watch show after show where the queer characterâs arc is overcoming homophobia. yes obviously homophobia still exists and yes obviously if ofmd was trying to be historically accurate these characters would be living in a very dangerous time to be queer but it isnât trying to be accurate!! itâs trying to be fun and diverse and kind!!
and also, they arenât pretending homophobia doesnât exist!! itâs just addressed in a different way. Stede was emotionally abused by his father for his entire life for being âsoftâ and then was chased down by his homophobic childhood bullies, one of which explicitly told him that he âdefiledâ the great pirate Blackbeard by simply falling in love with the man behind that name. Meanwhile Ed was forced into the world of piracy at a young age and developed the entire persona of Blackbeard (who fits the toxic, violent masculine stereotype of the time) to hide the fact that heâs actually an incredibly sensitive and deeply queer man! and is told multiple times by male figures in his life that sex with other men is fine but it is absolutely unacceptable to be in love with a man. both of their arcs contain homophobic rhetoric that is still present in society today, but its never presented as a problem that they have to wrestle with. they donât have to come to terms with what it means to love each other, they just have to overcome some trials that go along with the complicated lives they both lead as a pirate and former aristocrat. the homophobia in ofmd is woven into the backstory of each and every character, it shapes them into the people they are at the beginning of the show when all of their walls are up and they are performing the âpirateâ roles they are supposed to play. and then we get to see them grow and realize that they are in a safe space, part of a community not just on the ship itself but in the life of piracy (which in the show is pretty much explicitly an allegory for queer lifestyles.)
anyway, I could rant about this all day but just truly why do we have to tear people down for enjoying something? why do we have to find reasons to hate something so obviously created with sensitivity to itâs queer audience and with so much queer joy? if historically inaccurate gay pirates going on silly adventures and falling in love are not your thing, fine! but perhaps just let people enjoy things and find your own things to enjoy.

Tbh i totally agree she was done so dirty in TLOK. Even highlighted by the fact that she didn't get any statue unlike the rest of the gaang...
it is literally so insane to me that katara directly says "i don't want to heal, i want to fight" in the waterbending master and people decide to either ignore her saying that or completely discount it as her just wanting to fight bc of the war to justify the butchery of her character in legend of korra.
#katara#pro katara#anti bryke#she literally said what she wanted#why do people act like she doesnât know what she's talking about#god forbid a woman knows and declares what she wants smh#tbh idk#i prefer zutara but i feel it s a writing problem more than a shipping one though#because they could have made her as arm candy for zuko too which would have sucked#in general it feels to me that the show has issues writing women in relationships overall even though it's not glaring at first glance :#y'all listen to me and you'll understand what i mean#like basically suki and mai and yue were all not super developed and a good chunk of their appearances were centered more about their BFs#than themselves and im not even dissing them because i like them and i wish we got to know them better#you're gonna tell me that toph and katara werent like this...well...it d because during the show none of them were in relationships#and in tlok katara who had a âstable longtermâ relationship was relegated to a background character whose badassery was very downplayed#suki and mai never appeared they werent even mentioned...#the only one whose badassery wasnt downplayed was toph...notice how toph was single and that they literally handwaved her 2 bfs/husbands to#justify her having 2 daughters they coulda written them as adopted daughters instead of bio and it woumdnt have changed anything since#she was single#it's as if the writers fall into the terrible mistake of making good female characters satellite love interests#even the moms and the older ladies aside from grangran & hama(though grangran's part is super minor and hama is like in 1 or 2 eps)#whereas iroh/pakku/bumi/other older men are all common fixtures#it's insidious but it didn't come out of thin air#it's not to say that the show is horrible misogynistic propaganda or sth lol but they definitely have a problem with how they deal with#female characters at times

I fully believe that the whitebeard pirates would be good but completely chaotic with an actual child like I know whitebeards whole thing is being a dad but I think you throw a four year old at them and they're like "oh God can it have beer yet?" And completely forget that tantrums exist and the first couple weeks are pure chaos
Fr
Correct me if im wrong but when arenât the only kids who have been in the Moby Dick Hiyori and Momonosuke? And they had both parents to look after them so no one had to worry about taking any reponsability in that aspect and Whitebeard dinât have to step in as a dad in their case.
To me the best contenders to know whag the hell they are doing would be Marco and Oden, with Izou and Ace coming a close second
Oden, well he is a dad so that gives him an advantage on dealing with kids but regardless he is soemone who gives zero shits on what people think of him so he has no problem being the goofy dad 24/7. And despite his hotheaded personality and what I thought to be a careless lifestyle he is a man who will and has given everything to protect his family and retainers
Up next we have Marco, I donât recall him having direct contact with any children on the series but he has shown to have a calm, mature demeanor, this paired up with his medical knowledge would aid him in things such as when does a child become ready for solid foods, when should they start walking etc. Not saying he would know everything as he is the Shipâs doctor and not a pediatrician but his love for his family would be enough encouragement to learn about children and their development. Plus this man can do no wrong sooo
Ace, now listen you may think, of course youâre going to say heâs up there he had Luffy and you would be absolutely right that is one of the reasons đ. Listen in his youth he had a rough attitude and if even then he was able to fill that role he filled for luffy even years later is a testament to his qualifications. Second point is his personality, when he grew up he grew up to be a a goofball, at least I saw him that way, I feel like his personality would match up perfectly with a child. But a good match dosenât feed the child so thatâs why he wonât be up in first place. He would be great with the children but he would be as clueless as can be when it comes to needs of the kid, he would forget tk water and feed the child.
For Izou, I think he would be a good option because like Marco he seems tk have that Mature and responsible demeanor , so he would be a good option for a child coming aboard. He would also be great with the needs of the child, reminding himself to do all the tasks needed to be done if the child is wrong or remind the child themselves if they are old enough. But despite being a big brother, he is only a big brother by a year so I donât think thats adding tk his resume in this case. The reason why he is not on top is because even though he would be great at keeping track of what teh child needs he doesnât neccesarily have the knowledge, he can be told about what and when the kid needs something but he wouldnât know that by himself, so give him the information and he is up there with Marco And Oden, which would probably be the ones who teach him in the first place
Thatch would be a good option too, he has a playful and caring personality for the child and he would be able to adapt his meals to better fit the kid, but same as Izou he would need to be given that information. And similar to Ace he would forget about some needs of the kid or be incredibly reckless, he would remember to feed and water the kid since he is a chef and itâs his job but other needs eh, keep an eye on him ir next thing you know youâll have a toddler making your meals, handling knifes and other utensils.
I do want to mention Haruta, I think kids would love his outfit, he looks goofy so he could be a good entertainer for them. The rest of the commanders though⊠well they would be good bug brothers but maybe from a little far away, they are more rady to handle bigger kids and teens who can take a little bit more force. They could be caring but if someone like Kingdew or Fossa approach a kid I donât know if a small child would beâŠhow to say itâŠ. I donât think they would be ready for their personalities and facial expressionsâŠ.

A Friendly Spar
For Tickletober Day 18: Tickle Fight
Late again!!! Because I also did not have a chance to edit it until last night!! Apologies, and curse real life obligations!
BUT I am caught up now and hopefully can get the rest of the fics i have for the month edited and posted on time lol
-------------------
Fandom:Â BNHA
Ship(s):Â EraserMic
Characters (lee/ler):Â Switch!Hizashi/Switch!Shouta
Word Count:Â 967 words
Summary:Â After so long, sparring has become a sort of love language.
[ao3 link]
-------------------
After fifteen years of friendship, and over a decade of romance, any relationship would develop its fair share of little quirks. One of their special little quirks was their love languages.
Oh, sure, they had the typical ones. Hizashi thrived on physical touch and words of affirmation (not Shoutaâs strong suit at all, but he tried, and Hizashi loved him for that), and Shoutaâs was undeniably acts of service. But the one love language they had perfectly in common?
Sparring.
It probably had something to do with growing up in the hero sphere, and training until they dropped during their formative high school years. Shouta especially had a tendency to work himself to exhaustion, always needing to be the best of the best. Somewhere along the way, between the two of them and Oboro (not to mention Nemuri and Tensei, at times), sparring became more enjoyable, and even fun at times.
It was something they carried with them well into adulthood, and working at UA certainly came with its perks to support that â like constant free access to any of the near-dozen gyms on campus, granted that there were no students using it at the time.
And sparring didnât have to be serious, Hizashi thought as he dodged another swipe from Shoutaâs devious fingers. In fact, their spars rarely managed to be serious anymore â they both got enough of that, between training the next generation of heroes and their own regular hero work. This particular spar had devolved almost immediately, both of them needing to let off a little steam after a long week of teaching and cases that went nowhere.
âYou canât run forever,â Shouta grunted, rebalancing himself on his toes after his failed strike.
âAnd you canât chase me forever,â Hizashi said, spinning away.Â
Heâd demanded Shouta remove his capture scarf for the spar â it gave him an unfair advantage that Hizashi was not willing to concede to that evening. He wasnât that desperate for a laugh, at least not yet. No, right now he wanted even odds and a fair chance to win. He was dying to see that healthy, laughter-induced flush on Shoutaâs cheeks as well, and nothing was going to keep him from his prize.
âIâve chased more difficult opponents for longer. I think my stamina is up to par. Is yours?â
Hizashi gave him a salacious grin. âI didnât hear you complaining last night, mister.â
âYouâre incorrigible.â
âYou love it.â
âI love you â have you considered the idea that there may be a difference?â
âMmm, nope!â
Hizashi dodged another strike, this time redirecting it in order to bring himself closer to Shouta. He slipped one hand up Shoutaâs loose muscle shirt, searching out any tickle spots he could find on the sweat-slicked skin. He used the other to pull Shouta close and hold him there, well aware he was leaving himself open for attack. It was no fun if Shouta didnât fight back, after all.
âDammit, Zashi!â
âWhat, does that tickle? Just a little? You can go ahead and laugh, I wonât tell anyone. Your scary reputation can stay intact.â
âFuck you!â
âBeen there, done that. Werenât you listening?â
Though his squirming and escape attempts didnât stop, Shouta buried his face into Hizashiâs neck, leaning his weight against Hizashi and huffing strangled breaths against his skin. Hizashi shivered, then squeaked. He grabbed Shoutaâs hip to ground himself, only to finally make Shouta crack and huff a laugh into his neck.
âWhat, does that tickle?â Shouta chuckled against his throat, scruff and hot breath wreaking havoc on his nerves. âJust a little?â
âWait, Shouta, please!â Hizashiâs giggles were high pitched and frantic, almost too thick to speak through.
Shoutaâs own laughter, on the other hand, was deep and rich and only made his voice even more unfairly attractive. âYouâre the one who grabbed me.â
That was true. Hizashi planted both hands against Shoutaâs middle, preparing to shove him away, only for Shouta to grab his wrists in a vice grip. Before Hizashi could blink, he was spun around so his back was pressed to Shoutaâs chest, arms crossed over his own chest as Shouta continued to grip his wrists and hold him close. Shoutaâs face quickly found its way back to Hizashiâs neck, nuzzling and nibbling and huffing horribly ticklish breaths all over. Hizashi squealed, barely holding back his Quirk. They did not need the windows repairs taken out of their paychecks. Again.
âPerhaps,â Shouta whispered right up against the shell of his ear, âit would do you well to remember who your opponent is, and how frequently he kicks your ass.â
Hizashi shrieked and giggled and tried to kick back at Shoutaâs shins. âJust you wait until I get your neck!â
âOh no. Iâm so scared.â
Gritting his teeth against his smile, Hizashi threw his weight backwards, catching Shouta off guard in a rare moment, and landed them both on the floor. This was serious now, and Hizashi didnât intend to lose. He went for the kill immediately, straddling Shouta and shooting one hand back toward his thigh and the other toward his ear. On the other side of Shoutaâs neck, Hizashi buried his face and did his best to nuzzle his mustache into the skin.
Shouta howled, trying to buck Hizashi off to no avail. Instead, he brought his hands up to vibrate into Hizashiâs ribs. Hizashi faltered for only a moment, fighting the urge to curl up into a ball and roll off Shouta for his own protection. Instead he steeled himself and forced himself to hold still, cackling into Shoutaâs neck.
âGive up!â Shouta choked out through his laughter.
âYou first!â Hizashi wheezed.
It was a good thing they had this gym booked for the next hour, because Hizashi doubted either of them would concede any time soon.

Ship: Logan | Worst Wolverine/Wade Wilson
At first, Wade is pretty sure it all starts with the bullet- the one Logan had held in his teeth and spit out like it was a prize. Or maybe it starts in the Honda Odyssey. Or maybe it had started way back with Logan's smile. That first sardonic one when they'd met. Or maybe it's the way Logan is always staring at him. Or maybe- "I think you're enjoying this too much." "Maybe you're not enjoying it enough." Itâs more bite than kiss, more claim than caress, but itâs their mouths connecting all the same, and Wade gasps, hoarsely, as blood wells up from his lips and Logan tongues it away like itâs his god-given right. Oh, oh oh, oh- heâs crazy. Heâs so crazy. Wade has never wanted anyone so badly in his entire life. Wade tries to figure out where whatever he has with Logan started. (And he's kind of hoping he never has to see how it ends.)

After a week without contact, Logan leaves Wade a weird voicemail.
(i'm religiously checking in on this for updates. i know the summary doesn't say anything, so i'll say it here. logan becomes aware of the fourth wall and it's so fascinating??? a genuine look on what happens if the wolverine becomes aware that he's a fictional character and the exploration of that premise here is *chefs kiss* delicious. and how wade reacts to it and how they both deal with the aftermath of this development is so interesting and god, i NEED to know how this fic will go. genuinely one of those fics that have a premise i've never thought about before and it's GLORIOUS!)

"I'll probably see you around?" "Probably not," Logan says, something in his spine still shaking even now, and Wade looks at him with those huge dark eyes that look--hurt, maybe, heartbroken, and Logan knows he has to get up and leave before he can't. Each step is agony increasing, the thing in his spine trembling ever-harder and then Wade calls his name and he stops, turns, sees those eyes again; pleading, desperate. A rush of emotion slams into his hindbrain, it feels half foreign and half his own; don't do this can't do this without you please stay please stay stay stay stay let me stay stay stay "Come home with me," Wade blurts out, and Logan finds that he's taken steps toward Wade without realizing it, closing the yawning gap between them, and the thing in his spine relaxes just a little. "Okay," he says. (In which something very interesting happens underneath the Time Ripper, and Wade and Logan deal with the aftermath.)
(they vulcan mind melded and now can't live without the other. i just love this author's writing and i read every one of their d&w fics. i'm in love with their characterization of not just d&w but the rest of the cast as well! and the banter and genuinely fun interactions between d&w has me kicking my feet and giggling like a school girl. please read, i totally recommend this fic and the rest of the author's other fics XD)

Lived in a clapboard boarding house about seventy years back. A couple of times, I slept in a park with other people nearby. Do those count?â âThat was a rhetorical question,â says Wade. âSome might even call it an accusatory one. Mostly becauseâdude. Iâm a fucking mess. Francis could hardly see him but for the lightest starlight, yet he had heard the smile evident in his voice all the same. That close, he had nearly felt it. --- Hailed as heroes on their miraculous return to England, Francis and James fail to cope, but nonetheless manage to fall together.
(i love how warm they are here, how clearly these two depend on one another and find joy despite the fact london is trying it's best to stamp out this closeness. post-rescue is always such an interesting time where they get to reflect and be traumatized by what happened in the arctic and the lack of understanding that is found when they go home. it's done so well here and man, i just love these two together. the ship that sails their ships lmao)

(i'm always so fascinated by post-rescue stories that actually deal with the aftermath, the logistics of it all. how the characters struggle to handle their own traumas, how they help one another through their experiences, all of it. and how both crozier and fitzjames step up for their men even now, even when they're no longer captains in the arctic and have to deal with london and all it's trappings. this fic handles all that so very well, i love it <3)

A/N: welllll after who knows how long Iâve finally managed to conjure up the sunshine!reader x coldhearted hook fic! This was actually so fun to write I got carried away and it takes a drastic turn lmao I hope you love it babesss, enjoy!
(Takes place during the Hook and Jack rivalry)
(Also this shit is extremely long and Iâm finishing it at 2am so bare with me if thereâs grammatical errors, Iâm sleepy lmao)
You were originally ecstatic over the shot at your very first story line when Tony pitched the idea to you. Youâd been in AEW for a little over a year and had been hoping that youâd get a little more substantial tv time outside of your typical matches sometime soon, so when Tony called you to his office with an idea that was brought up to him, you couldnât agree quick enough.
That was until the person youâd be doing the storyline with walked through the door.
The coldhearted handsome devil, as he frequently gets called. Someone you were somewhat familiar with due to seeing his matches in the viewing room from time to time, or him sitting alone in catering every so often, typically with a hatred look towards the whole world on his face.
A man you never considered approaching for the simple fact that he gave the impression that he was not to be fucked with, or even smiled at, for that matter. He was the last person youâd expected Tony to bring in.
âHook, glad youâre here again. I know weâve already been over this but now that we have your future partner here, I wanted to give you both the rundown. Have a seat.â Tony points to the chair next to you. He steps in, a hoodie over his head shadowing his eyes that glance at you before he silently takes a seat.
He brought a sudden energy to the room with his presence, one that made you feel a tad bit uneasy. Intimidated, more so.
âY/N, Hook is who Iâm pairing you with for this storyline. Itâs come to my attention that the two of you are both crowd favorites and apparently a lot of fans want to see you two together. It would be great for the ratings and for both of your character developments.â
You nodded along, wanting to look over at the man next to you to see what he thought of this, though you kept your eyes on Tony. You knew that fans liked to talk about how you and some of the talent should pair up together, and there were a lot of edits on instagram of you and certain wrestlers that they shipped, but Hook was the least of your expectations.
âIâll be putting you both in a group chat where Iâll send you segment and promo schedules and concepts, so keep your eyes out for that. Next week, during your match with Anna, Jack Perry is going to come out with the FTW title and hand it to her, and thatâs when Hook will be coming out after him. The fans will think itâs all part of their feud until he comes to your aid when Anna hits you with the title while Jack and Hook are fighting on the ramp. Thatâs going to be the start of the entire storyline leading up to a tagteam match between the four of you.â
You listened intently, not wanting to miss a beat of the instruction. The storyline made a lot of sense since you and Anna did have some on screen animosity to begin with, and hook and jack have been at each others throats for some time now, so you could see the relevance to having Hook as your alliance.
âIâll be sending you both a text soon on more details.â Tony said before he excused you both from his office. Hook silently got out of his chair and headed through the door without sparing you a glance. You werenât sure if that meant that he was displeased about the storyline or if he just collected the information and went on his way.
You decided to try to talk to him when you both got into the hallway, but quickly wished you wouldâve let him keep walking.
âHey!â You jog up to him, reaching his side. He glanced over at you for a split second before he fixated his sights ahead. He didnât greet you back, and that alone made you feel a little uneasy, but you still attempted to make conversation.
âI know weâve never talked before, but since weâre about to do this whole storyline together, I guess I should introduce myself and all.â You managed a nervous chuckle, but he kept a straight face.
âIâm Y/N.â You continued on, feeling your nerves start to get the better of you, which is when you start rambling, usually.
âI mean, obviously you know that now since Tony said it, but, anyway, i just wanted to break the ice a little. This is all pretty new to me. Iâve never done a story line before so-â
Thatâs when Hook stops in his tracks, turning to face you. His stare was cold and jaw set. He showed no emotion, nothing at all, really. The way he looked straight into your eyes made you immediately shy away from that gaze. Your eyes dropped to the gold cross sitting over his chest similar to the one you had tucked underneath your shirt that you wore as a good luck charm.
You wanted to pull it out and show him that you had one too but something told you he wouldnât care about that at all.
You glanced back up into his eyes, the ones that were strongly fixated on you, managing to push past the nervousness he made you feel until you heard him say, âLetâs save the talking for the scripts.â
He held his eyes on you for a second longer before he turned on his heel and headed down the hallway. You didnât bother to follow. It was clear that Hook didnât care to make conversation with you, and he wanted to make sure you understood that.
âââ
You were sitting in catering with Skye and Willow, oblivious to their conversation due to the thoughts that kept swirling around in your brain. It had been a week since that very first interaction with Hook and tonight you were going to be starting the whole storyline.
Skye noticed how you barely paid attention to the conversation and decided to ask you what was going on. You had yet to tell them about the storyline since talking to Hook, or attempting to, didnât go over so well.
âWhatâs going on with you?â Skyeâs voice reached you, snapping you out of your thoughts.
You couldâve said it was nothing to save yourself the conversation but they were going to know about the whole storyline tonight, so you decided to spill it all.
âTonyâs giving me my first storyline.â You say, watching as a smile spreads across both of their faces before the confusion sets in.
âYou donât seem too excited?â Willow commented.
âI mean, I am, but⊠Well, okay, so you know how Hook and Jack Perry have that whole rivalry going on right now?â
The girls nod slowly, clearly they were still a bit confused.
âAnd me and Anna have a match tonight, so Jackâs going to come out and hand her the FTW title so she can knock my ass out with it,-â
âSo then Hook is going to come out to save you.â Skye figured. âSo is it like, an on screen dating kind of thing?â
âI donât think so. Tony said weâll end up teaming up against them, so Iâm pretty sure itâs just alliances.â
Willowâs lips spread into a smirk before she looked down.
âAre you nervous about it or something? Youâre the one who said you wished youâd get your shot at a story line and now youâre talking like you donât want to do it.â Skye said, but you hardly heard her when the man whoâs been racing through your mind came walking through the catering doors.
Willow noticed your eyes immediately finding him, following him as he headed around the perimeter of the room to take his seat in the very back.
âI think sheâs nervous.â Willow grinned, clearly with insinuation but thatâs when you quickly tore your eyes away from the man in question and back to them.
âNo, itâs the fact that I tried to talk to him after we left Tonyâs office, yâknow, introduce myself and break the ice since weâre going to be working together, and he literally looked me dead in my face and told me to save the talking for the scripts.â
Both of their jawâs dropped and Willowâs eyes cut over to the man, shooting him a look he didnât see since he was on his phone.
âThatâs fucking rude.â She said.
âYeah, and we havenât spoke since.â
âI mean, he kind of does look like that type of guy. Heâs always by himself, always looks like someone pissed in his cheerios, maybe heâs just a dick. Iâd just stick to the storyline and donât bother with him outside of that if heâs going to have that kind of an attitude.â Skye says before she grabs her phone and stands up from the table.
âAnyway, I gotta go. Iâll be watching your match from the viewing room tonight though. Youâre gonna do amazing.â She smiles before she heads out, leaving you and willow at the table.
âI agree with Skye. Just try to enjoy your first storyline despite his negative attitude.â
You nodded, then your eyes adverted over to the back of the room, for some reason you felt strongly compelled to steal a glance of him, only to find his eyes locked on you.
You felt your stomach twist suddenly and looked away immediately, but you could still feel the powerful gaze he possessed burning a hole through you, and you werenât sure if that meant you should look back again, maybe try to go talk to him, or leave the room all together.
âOh my God, heâs staring at me. Donât you fucking look, Willow. Donât make it obvious.â
Willow didnât, but it was clear she wanted to. You could practically feel his dark eyes on you from way across the room, and you couldnât help the way it made the pace of your heart quicken, out of the sheer nervousness that his presence hasnât failed to make you feel.
âHeâs leaving now.â Willow whispered as her eyes followed him around the room before she dropped them to the table. âHeâs gone.â
ââââ
You couldnât help but to be nervous but you attempted to put it all aside as you clutched you ribs, lying on the canvas after Anna kicked into your side, probably a little harder than she should have. You knew what was coming as soon as Jackâs music hit and he came running down the ramp with the FTW title in hand.
You grabbed Annaâs feet before she could reach him, swiftly making her fall flat against the canvas in an attempt to protect yourself from the inevitable. Thatâs when Hookâs music hit and a sudden pop from the crowd made your ears ring.
He didnât run down the ramp like Jack did, but it took him only a few seconds to get his hands on the man. Hook snatched the title and threw it to the floor before he threw a series of punches to Jackâs chest, while you and Anna were throwing punches to each otherâs jaws. She was hitting you with a force that felt a little more personal than just entertainment purposes. You wondered if she meant that or not.
She grabbed your wrist and slung you against the turnbuckles, hitting your back so hard you sprung foward and fell to your knees. It was all planned, but you were taking one hell of a beating.
Thatâs when Hook and Jack had the referee distracted enough for Anna to grab the belt. Just as you were getting on your feet, you felt the impact against the side of your head knocking you down flat, staring up at the bright lights of the arena as she pinned you.
The three count came fast and her music rang through your ears. You laid there like you were dazed and confused and thankfully she didnât actually hit you with it too hard. You had a little pain but nothing like it wouldâve been if she wouldâve intended to knock you out cold.
The crowd was booing jack and Anna both, but they roared with cheers when Hook slid under the ropes. You felt a warm hand sneak beneath your shoulder before he helped you sit up. There was no script to go off of so you werenât sure if anything shouldâve been said, but nobody wouldâve heard over the thousands of screams piercing your ears.
Taz was on commentary hyping the interaction up for the added affect of the viewers watching on tv.
âI donât know when those two became friends, but Iâll tell you one thing, Y/N has a good one in her corner. If Hook has your back, you know youâre gonna be alright. Jack and Anna better watch out now boys.â
Hook leaned down and grabbed your hand, pulling you up to your feet. The crowd was absolutely wild, and it was a reaction you really didnât expect. He silently nodded towards the ramp as he let go of your hand. You walked ahead of him, slipping out of the ropes and making your way towards the tunnels, clutching your side and your head for the added affect.
You looked over your shoulder to find hook close behind, his eyes locked on you the second you spared a glance. Just before you reached the tunnels, you heard his voice, somehow over all the commotion around the arena.
âWaitâ he caused you to turn around, now inches apart from you. Your eyes widened when you realized the closeness, before you felt his hand grab yours again and hold it up in the air, turning you towards the crowd that was on the verge of losing their minds.
He pointed at you, nodding as he took in the reactions. You were trying to soak it all in but it all had you confused. Assuming he was really good at selling, you tried to ignore the fact that his harsh words had been running through your mind for the past week, but due to that, you didnât expect all of this.
He dropped your hand and nodded towards the tunnel, letting you lead the way. As soon as you got away from the chaos in the arena, you turned around to face him. Part of you wanted to ask why he was so rude to you last week but the other part of you was screaming for you not to.
Hookâs brows knitted together when you looked up at him. The last thing you probably shouldâve been thinking about was the first one that came to mind simply because your brain did that sometimes.
He was wearing a black hoodie, black pants and looked like the walking depiction of darkness with the way his hair casted over nearly half of his face. Meanwhile you had on all white ring gear coupled with white nails and the comparison must have looked nothing less than polar opposites when you stood side by side.
But then you heard him say, âAre you just gonna stand there and stare at me?â
Thatâs when you realized youâd just been staring up at him, feeling your cheeks immediately burn beneath your skin when he called you out for it. Hook saw the way your face flushed and a rosy tint dusted over. Then he noticed a gold cross sitting against your chest much like his own. He didnât comment on it, obviously.
You wanted to redeem yourself but couldnât muster words at that point and he stared down at you awaiting a response or simply for you to move out of his way, which is exactly what you did.
The second you stepped to the side, he slipped past you, brushing your shoulder on his way down the hall. You stood there with a bit of a dumbfounded look on your face as you watched him leave without sparing you another glance.
âââ
Another week passed by and again, you and hook hadnât spoke, but your tagged photos on instagram were nothing but you and him from Dynamite the week prior. It was funny how many fans were going crazy for a duo that was anything but when you werenât on cameras.
Youâd looked down at your phone when it buzzed and a text from Tony came through. You were put in the group chat with a 363 area code and debated whether or not you should save him in your contacts.
The text was the instructions for a segment later on. You and hook were going to be spotted talking in the hallway. He sent the full script and with only an hour to memorize and apologized for the last minute scheduling.
You were typing back when another message popped up. It was from hook, nothing but a short and simple reply saying, âAll goodâ meanwhile youâd typed almost a whole paragraph about how it was okay, donât apologize and you were going to get to memorizing right now. Needless to say, you deleted that and typed back, âNo problem, Iâll have them memorized.â
You then scrolled up the long message, unsure if you could actually sell this with such a short amount of study time. You didnât want to screw up on live tv.
Your lips moved as you read over the lines. It wouldâve been way easier if you could actually rehearse them with someone but clearly hook wasnât going to be down for that and Skye and Willow both had the night off, which was the reason you were sitting alone in catering.
You tried to focus but you felt that feeling again. Eyes on you, unavailable. He was somewhere in the room and you could feel it. He was staring at you again, and you didnât even have to find him to be able to tell that.
You couldnât keep your mind on the script now that you knew you were being watched. You wondered why he was staring in the first place. What was his problem with you after all?
The temptations got the better of you and you finally tore your eyes from your phone, only to find him sitting directly across from you at the next table over. Like you already knew, staring.
He didnât bother to snatch his gaze off of you. He was shameless about the way he watched you. You couldnât help it when your nerves grabbed strong hold of you and out blurted, âAre you just gonna sit there and stare?â, loud enough for the people around to hear, earning their attention.
Hook didnât acknowledge them. He didnât even blink. Didnât move a single muscle and thatâs when you decided to get up and walk over to him, despite the way his dark eyes made you want to take off running.
You approached his table and took a seat directly across from him. He tilted his head back slightly and crossed his arms over his chest. His brows raised in an expectant manner and you could feel the eyes of talent all around focused on the two of you.
âWhy do you keep staring at me?â You called him out the same way he did to you last week in the tunnel. He kept a stoic expression as his eyes dropped down to your phone in hand on top of the table. He decided to avoid your question to ask one of his own.
âYou think you can sell that segment later?â
Caught off guard, you felt your brows knit together, looking down at your phone which served as a reminder that you needed to be studying those lines.
âIâm gonna do my best.â You answered honestly, looking back at him. âAre you not going to go over your lines?â
âI already know them.â
âThe text just came in like five minutes ago.â You pointed out.
âAnd I already know them, and yours.â He coolly states before he grabs the bookbag from the seat next to him and stands up. âDonât mess up.â He says before he tries to leave.
âWait!â Your voice didnât do you any favors when it came out a little squeakier than you intended, but it kept him there. âCan you help me go over them?â
He stared down at you, face unreadable as always. There was a pause before he said, âIf I didnât have to get ready for my match, maybe Iâd consider.â Then he headed out of catering, leaving you alone at the table.
âââ
You headed down the hallway where you were supposed to shoot the segment. Hook was already there, leaning against the wall with his phone in hand. He had his ring gear on, a couple red marks on his chest and sweat glistening off his skin. He must have just came back from his match.
Nobody else was around yet. You slowly walked over to him and stood against the opposite wall in front of him. He finished typing something before he picked his head up and looked down at you. You did your best not to spare him a glance as you continued going over your lines.
âItâs a little late to be trying to memorize them now.â You heard him mutter.
âI think I have them memorized, actually.â You look up at him, now leaning back with arms crossed. His hair was absolutely unruly and you couldnât help but stifle a laugh when you saw it up close. The way it was standing straight up over his head reminded you of Chicken Little.
âWhat?â His brows knit when he catches your reaction.
âSorryâ you shake your head and wipe the smirk off your face. âItâs your hair.â
âWhat about my hair?â
âItâs like, standing straight up.â You point out, watching his eyes squint at you.
âItâs hair. It does that.â He deadpanned.
âMine never does.â
âThatâs âcause Annaâs always pulling yours out.â He bantered back, and for the first time you thought maybe you saw his lips tip up in a smirk, but as soon as you caught it, he wiped it away.
âShe is not always pulling it out. That was one time. And that was so long ago, how do you even know that?â
Silence suddenly filled the hallway. He didnât have an answer for that and thankfully for him, the cameraman made his way around the corner just in time.
âAlright, ready?â He calls out to the both of you. You take one more quick glance at your phone before shoving it in your pocket and taking in a deep breath.
Hook pushed himself off the wall and whispered, âDonât mess up.â Before he stood behind you, close enough that when you turned around, you had to put a little space between you.
âAction.â
âY/N.â Hook suddenly spoke. âYou canât let anyone walk all over you in this company. Itâs time for you to take control. You need to start fighting fire with fire.â
He was right when he said he had his parts memorized. It was so effortless to him. He went from one persona to the next in a matter of seconds.
You tried to hide the surprise on your face and snap into character. He eyed you skeptically, you could clearly tell he was expecting you to mess up.
âI donât want to play dirty, Hook. Thatâs gonna be my karma when it comes back to bite me.â First line down, you didnât think it was too bad.
âOr maybe Anna Jay and Jack Perryâs karma is us. Did you ever think about that?â He raised his voice and took a step foward unexpectedly, backing you against the wall. You were suddenly flustered but knew you had to force that away.
âJack knocked me out with the same title Anna hit you with. My FTW title. Theyâre cornering you and youâre allowing it! Whatâs gonna happen when youâre in the hospital with a concussion next time and I canât save you?â
His chest started heaving as hot breaths fanned against your skin. He was way too good at this.
âWhat do you want me to do, Hook? You want me to be evil like they are? Thatâs not me!â
A second passed and you saw the way his eyes dropped down to some other part of your face, suddenly making you self conscious about whatever caught his attention. Then, he leaned in even closer, his chest brushing against yours when he inhaled.
âIf youâre gonna be with me, you have to be tougher than this. That sweet, innocent personality of yours isnât going to get us anywhere, and Iâm not gonna stand by while you let yourself get assaulted every week. Itâs time to start fighting back, Y/N.â
Half of that line, you didnât recall memorizing. It threw you off a little bit, and thanks to that, you couldnât remember your final line. You suddenly got anxious, mouth falling open with no words coming out. Hook picked up on this, not letting too much time pass before he tried to jog your memory.
âYou donât have anything to say? Youâre okay with these people tormenting us? You want them to take everything from us?â
You hoped he could hear you silently thanking him. You knew that wasnât a line but he kept it going for the sake of embarrassing yourself.
âIf you want me to fight back, then let me do it my way.â You recited, shooting him your best glare for the dramatics. âIâm not turning cold for you, but that doesnât mean I canât beat her ass so bad sheâll wish she never stepped foot in a ring with me.â
His lips turned upwards in the faintest hint of a smirk and this time you were certain on it before he quickly brought that straight face back for the camera and nodded his head saying his last line.
âIâm gonna hold you to that.â
âCutâ
The camera man left you and hook in the hallway. As soon as the camera wasnât on you an enormous weight was lifted off of your shoulders, finally able to take a deep breath, but the air around quickly got suffocating all over again.
Hook didnât move. He was still standing close enough to you that you felt pinned to the wall. He held those infamously dark eyes on you for a moment, studying you. In his mind, he didnât see the value of having you as a partner. He couldnât understand why he got paired with someone who looks like theyâd cry the minute someone raised their voice.
You just appeared to him as a sweet, innocent person and not in the way that he intended for it to be a compliment. Sweet and innocent wasnât his thing. He needed someone just as coldhearted and vengeful as him.
Nevertheless, he was with you now until this storyline ends and his dad told him during a conversation they had a few days prior, that he needs to look at things a little bit differently. Taz seemed to think that he needed someone like you by his side. The coldhearted handsome devil needed a conscious and in his dadâs mind, a babyface with the reputation of being a walking ray of sunshine was the angel on Hookâs shoulder.
He carefully considered his dadâs perspective, but then aroused ideas of his own. A concept that he pitched to Tony that you had no idea what was coming. Plans to take your squeaky clean image and transform it into something greater, something more complimentary to himself.
You eyed him, swallowing past a thick lump accumulating in your throat before you managed to speak in a voice almost weary.
âWhy are you staring at me like that?â
Hookâs head tilted to the side, as if he was intrigued by the simple question. Your wide eyes reminded him of a skittish puppy ready to bolt, and he was surprised you havenât yet.
âI thought you had your lines memorized?â He countered your question.
âI did, until you decided to improvise.â You quickly blurted, feeling like you exaggerated that defense. His brows raised slightly from beneath the thick hair against his forehead before he took a step back, putting space between you for the first time in what felt like an eternity.
âSee you next week.â He muttered before he disappeared around the corner.
âââ
Two nights later, as you got cozy in bed, just about to doze off, your phone buzzed with a text from that same area code you recognized as Hook.
âbeen talking to my dad. you need to learn redrum. im in the hotel gymâ
You glanced at the time, nearly baffled when you realized it was one-thirty in the morning. You texted back a quick reply.
âRight now? This canât wait until tomorrow? And why do I need to learn your moves? I have moves of my own.â
You stared at the message until the delivered turned into read at 1:32 and locked your phone until he texted back.
âim going to bed at 2â
You stared at that simple little message and knew it was basically him not giving much of an option. You huffed as you slid out of bed, never minding to change out of your sweatpants or do anything with yourself for that matter. It was almost two in the morning. You should be asleep.
The elevators brought you down to the first floor. You headed across the lobby towards the gym. You could hear the sound of a punching bag being hit three times each even through the closed door.
You walked in, to your surprise finding Hook and Taz both. Taz was keeping the punching bag steady while Hook threw his fists into it, but that came to an abrupt halt when taz spotted you first.
âAh, there she is.â His voice echoed through the empty room. âDidnât think youâd actually show.â He chuckled, turning to his son. âTyler and I have been talking about that upcoming tagteam match between you and the goofballs, we think if the crowd saw a double redrum theyâd go nuts.â
You glanced at hook, now with the new knowledge that his name was actually Tyler, and for some reason thatâs all that registered in that moment. He was looking at his dad, not even sparing a glance in your direction until Taz gave him a strong pat on his bare back and said, âIâll leave you to it son. Your motherâs waiting for me.â
You held the door open to let him through, offering a faint smile. Taz stopped before he left the room, looking over his shoulder at his son, âPolite tooâ he commented, and you werenât sure what that was supposed to mean but didnât ask either. âDonât hurt him too bad.â He muttered with an amused grin before he headed out.
You closed the door and stepped a little farther in the room. Taz seemed to have taken that lighthearted energy with him when he left because once again, the air was thick. It felt hot and heavy in your lungs and it made no sense to you why that was always the case when you were around him.
He stood at the front of the room with his hands on his hips. He looked like heâd been at it for hours what with the way his cheeks were bright red and sweat was covering every visible inch of his body, and drenching his hair.
âDo you always work out at two in the morning?â You asked as you drew a little closer, feeling like you were physically walking on eggshells.
âI go to sleep at two.â He replied, rather breathlessly. His eyes adverted down to your t-shirt and sweats, and the fuzzy slippers you put on before you left the hotel room. âApparently you do too.â
âI was almost asleep when you texted.â You defended yourself and your cozy loungewear. âIâm not going to throw on a whole outfit just to come down to the gym.â
âReal shoes either.â He countered.
You looked down at the slippers and then back up at him. âTheyâre comfy. I donât care.â
âClearly.â He nodded. âDoesnât matter. You familiar with any of my moves at all?â
You couldâve told him that youâd watched some of his matches in the viewing room before but something told you that he would think you were weird for that, so you simply shrugged and said, âkind of, not really.â
The way he eyed you made you think he knew you were lying.
âNever seen me do redrum?â He questioned, raising his brows.
âMaybe like one time.â You lied again, and thatâs when his eyes narrowed, as if he was reading right through the bullshit.
He pushed his hair back and let his hand fall to his side with a smack to his hip before he stepped away from the punching bag and over to a bench, grabbing an almost empty water bottle and chugging the rest.
He crumbled the plastic before tossing it in the trash can halfway across the room and walking back over. He stood in front of you. It seemed to you like the man didnât know the definition of personal space.
âAre you familiar with a half nelson at least?â
You shot him a questionable look, feeling the sarcasm dripping from his question.
âPretty sure everyone is.â You crossed your arms, deadpanning on him in an attempt to dish it right back. His lips fold in and thatâs when you couldnât help but notice a dimple on his right cheek.
âAlright then-â he held his arms out to his sides. âPut me in one.â
You shot him another look, wondering if that was a serious request or not. He stared at you, clearly waiting. It didnât seem probable since the man towered over you.
âHow do I do that when youâre like, six foot tall?â You asked, holding your own arms out. âIâm obviously too short to reach.â
âSize doesnât matter. Itâs the way you utilize your body. Annaâs taller than you, how do you expect to put her in a choke? Wait for her to get down?â
âI wasnât planning to until you said I needed to learn your moves. I have a couple of my own.â
âAnd clearly they donât work too well.â He counters comebacks quickly, you realize.
âIf you canât reach, use your legs first.â He instructed, suddenly having a more serious edge to his voice. âIf that means you have to jump on their back, then do that. Iâve had to a time or two.â He shrugged before he waved you foward.
You dropped your arms and eyed him skeptically. An uneasy feeling was trying to take over simply because the thought of wrestling around with a man twice your size didnât seem like the smartest idea.
âYouâre not gonna sling me over your shoulder or something, are you?â
You caught the brief flash of confusion that crossed through his eyes before they returned to that cold stare he perfected.
âNo, Y/N.â He huffed in annoyance. âIâm not gonna do anything but let you take me down. Iâm gonna fall foward though, not back, so if you go flying off of me thatâs on you.â
In his mind he was wondering why you were so apprehensive about this. Did you really think he was going to hurt you? He might not be all that friendly but he didnât have intentions to harm you. Either way, he pushed past those thoughts and focused on the task at hand.
You nodded in understanding before you circled around him, taking a step back for more momentum when you sprung foward. Your legs wrapped tightly around his waist, knees locking in underneath his ribs and you heard a low grunt reverberate through his throat.
âAm I hurting you?â You loosened your legs but felt his hands grab them, keeping you wrapped tightly around him.
âNope, always keep your legs tight. Iâm good. Lock it in.â
You did as you were told, snaking one arm beneath his jaw and the other under his arm, bringing it up and pushing his head down until you felt him falling foward with a low, âFuckâ beneath his breath.
You held on tight as his knees hit the floor and he tapped on your arm quickly. You unwrapped yourself and stood back up, offering your hand to help him to his feet, but he ignored it.
âWas that right?â You asked, feeling somewhat prideful about the way you just brought a six foot tall, two hundred pound man down to his knees with his own finisher.
He nodded, rubbing his neck. âYeah, that was right.â He cleared his throat. He then eyed you with a somewhat unreadable look on his face, eyes slightly narrowed.
ïżœïżœïżœWhat?â You asked.
âYouâve never seen that before?â He resorted back to his previous question from earlier.
âI told you I have once.â You reminded him, but again, human lie detector comes out of him and it was evident.
âMost people donât get it right the first time after seeing me do it more than once.â
âWell I did.â You shrugged, watching as he peered those eyes at you, reading straight through the bullshit once more just to hum in response.
âNot very believable but alright.â He muttered before he walked over to the bench and sat down, grabbing his hoodie and tossing it over his shoulder. You felt your clothes sticking to your body with sweat that wasnât your own and peeled the fabric from your skin, just for it to stick right back.
Hook noticed this. âYou got a little sweat on you.â He comments obviously.
âDo I? I didnât notice.â You sarcastically replied, and another unreadable expression played on his face, one that had you wondering what he was thinking, but you didnât ask. It returned back to that blank, emotionless look moments after.
âI have a match Wednesday.â He said as he ran his hand through his unruly hair. âYou should probably be ringside.â
âDid Tony say that? I havenât heard anything.â
âIâm saying that.â He leaned forward and rested his elbows on his knees, looking up at you. Your mouth clamped shut with that response. He clearly saw the mixed reaction playing on your face and made it a point to clarify.
âThe more weâre together, the more weâll sell.â
But something told you otherwise and you werenât sure what. Something was nagging at you about his actual motives. If you remember correctly, he didnât seem too pleased about being paired up with you to begin with.
âI didnât think you cared so much about this storyline.â You tested. âYou seemed really unhappy about it when we were in Tonyâs office. And after, especially.â You referred to the first little conversation, or lack there of, in the hallway.
He looked down at his knuckles and a few scars on them before he looked back up at you.
âIf we have to do it, I want to at least make it good.â He said, ignoring basically everything you just said. âThat means we need to sell it. So we need to be seen together a lot more. Nobodyâs gonna believe it if weâre only shot on segments and nowhere else.â
You nodded, understanding that fact.
âSo when I have a match, you be there. When you have a match, Iâll be there.â He then stood up and threw on the black hoodie you always saw him wear at work before he walked past you, muttering a low, âsee you Wednesdayâ under his breath before the gym doors shut behind him.
âââ
âSounds like he wants to fuck you.â Willow bluntly stated after you told her and Skye all about whatâs been going on lately. You felt your cheeks practically burn your skin but looked away in an attempt to hide it.
âAgreed.â Skye adds in. âLooks like someoneâs not so coldhearted after all.â
âNo, he definitely is.â You affirm with a quick nod. âHeâs just good at selling a storyline. Heâs a different person on camera than he is elsewhere.â
âHe looks pretty angry all the time to me. On camera and every time I pass his grumpy ass in the hallsâ Willow chuckled and you couldnât help but do the same. âAnd if heâs trying to sell the story purely, I donât think heâd bother getting you down to the gym at almost two in the morning.â
âWell it was to teach me his finisher for when we have that tagteam match.â You justified, but they didnât buy it.
âThat couldâve waited for a day time hour, Y/N.â Skye tried to convince you, but there was no use in that. You looked at the time and realized his match was starting soon. You got up from the seat, thankful for an excuse to leave the conversation.
âIâm needed ringside.â You tell them, noting the smirks on their face before you left.
Hook was already in the gorilla waiting for his music to hit when you finally got there. His back was turned and head hung as he pushed himself back and to against the bars.
âHey.â You breathlessly said, due to nearly racing to be in time. He turned his head, looking over his shoulder as he kept doing what looked to you like mid air push ups, assuming it was just something he did to get amped up.
His eyes adverted down to your shirt. You didnât have a match tonight so you didnât bother throwing on your ring gear. He was wearing all black this time, and you were wearing a bright yellow top and black shorts.
âHey sunshine.â He said with a condescending, mocking tone as he eyed your apparel.
âSunshine? Why? Because of my shirt?â You asked. âWas I supposed to match you or something?â
He shook his head and dropped it, exposing that dimple again. He pushed himself off the rails to stand up straight, looking down at you rather dramatically with the way he dropped his head.
âI didnât say anything about your clothes.â
âYou insinuated by the way you looked at my yellow shirt, then called me sunshine.â You pointed out, watching an amused grin spread across his lips before he dropped his head to cover it. You know you werenât mistaking.
It was then that his music hit and the pop of the arena was already ringing your ears. He headed through the tunnel and you followed, unsure what you were actually supposed to do now that you were here.
The crowd went crazy when hook came out, but nearly insane when you popped out right behind him. He stopped at the top of the ramp to look amongst the sea of faces, and you endured it all next to him. You turned to look at him, only to find him staring down at you.
He nodded towards the ring, signaling for you to take the lead, so you did. On commentary once again, Taz was hyping it up for the viewers at home.
âThatâs hook right there folks. The coldhearted handsome devil. Heâs being accompanied by one of AEWâs crowd favorites, Y/N for this match. These two have been joined at the hip ever since Anna Jay knocked her upside the head with the FTW title. Theyâve got each others backs, Iâll tell you that much.â
If you could hear commentary it would probably make you laugh just how much his dad sells the storyline.
You stopped at the end of the ramp and waited for hook to walk down. He stopped next to you for a moment, the cameraman panning in on the two of you taking in the crowd reactions before he nodded towards where you would be standing, signaling for you to take your place while he rounds the ring.
When the bell rings and the match gets started, you watch on from where you stood leaning against the canvas. Youâve seen a few of his matches but never up close. It was clear exactly why he was favored in this industry. His quickness and agility was otherworldly. He was fast thinking and cleverly destructive.
He made quick work of getting his opponent down. It had only taken about three and a half minutes and the redrum was locked in, and seconds after, his music boomed through the arena.
You clapped genuinely, watching as he got to his feet and slipped out the ring on your side. He nodded towards the tunnels and by this point you already knew to take the lead while he walks behind you. No idea why he prefers it that way, but you didnât question.
When you reached the stage, you stopped and turned to face the crowd. He got up next to you and looked at you questionably when you grabbed his wrist, even though he already knew what you were going to do.
You raised his hand in the air and listened to the crowd explode. The pop was unlike anything youâd witnessed yourself, and it was doing a pretty good job at bringing your confidence level way up.
âProbably one of AEWâs most unlikely duos. The coldhearted handsome devil and Y/N look like night and day standing next to each other.â Excalibur mentions on commentary.
âTheir appearances may be complete opposites but donât let that fool you my guy. These two are a force to be reckoned with.â Taz adds.
You get halfway through the tunnel when you look over your shoulder to find hook trailing closely behind you.
âGood job.â You smile at him, though he doesnât return the smile back. You didnât expect him to, anyway. He hummed in response and dropped his head, ruffling his hair.
Just then, a text came through to your phone. You pulled it out of your pocket and read the group chat message.
âItâs Tony.â You tell hook. âHe said me being ringside was a nice touch for whoeverâs idea that was. Want me to tell him it was yours?â
âNah.â He shortly replied. âDid he say anything else?â He asked, seeming a little curious.
âNo.â You told him, watching as he nods once. âWhat do you think weâll be doing next? Another segment? When even is this tagteam match happening?â
âAsk him.â He mutters.
He wasnât saying much all of the sudden which confused you. It was like he retreated into a shell after he decided he didnât like the outside world for the two minutes he experienced it.
âAre you tired?â You asked, noticing the questioning glance he gave you.
âNo?â
âOh. You sound tired.â You added as you headed down the hall with him, unsure where you were actually going since you just got caught up in talking to him.
âNot tiredâ he sighed, giving you the impression that he didnât want to talk at all anymore. Or maybe he never even did in the first place.
âAlright well, Iâll see you next week then.â Your voice was far weaker than his was. He slowed down but didnât stop, muttering âalrightâ before he kept walking down the hallway, leaving you standing in the middle of it for what felt like the hundredth time watching him leave.
âââ
A text from Tony came through two days later. It was a graph with the ratings for Wednesday nightâs show and apparently the interactions with you and Hook brought a lot of attention on.
You were typing a reply when another message came through. It was next weeks plans for the two of you. Reading over it, you couldnât help but to be confused. Apparently you were supposed to interfere in one of Annaâs matches that Jack was going to be standing ringside for. This time, you were going to be the one using the belt against her after hook takes it from jack.
Sounded like heel work in your opinion.
You didnât reply due to the fact that you werenât sure what to say, but hook did. His message came through a few minutes after the text was sent and was nothing but a simple okay emoji.
That night, you received a text from hook. It was short and simple like all the other ones had been.
âyou own any black clothes?â
You felt like you could feel the sarcasm through the screen. What kind of question was that?
âWhy?â You replied, not having much time to close your phone before another one came through.
âso we can matchâ
You understood the reasoning but werenât super thrilled about black of all colors.
âDo you own anything other than black clothes?â You retorted. This time there was a pause between messages.
âwhat color do you want to wear, y/nâ if you were standing in front of him having this conversation you just knew heâd have that bored look on his face. You thought for a minute about a reasonable color. Then decided on one he probably would glare at you for.
âGot anything yellow?â You grinned to yourself knowing that he was probably going to roll his eyes at that one.
âno.â
âFine⊠Blue?â
âno.â
âRed?â
âno. wear black wednesdayâ
You stared down at that message for a moment debating on what to say back. You looked across the room at your suitcase overflowing with clothes but you already knew the only article of clothing you brought with you that was all black was a dress you wore to go out in. Nothing reasonable for the show.
âI donât have anything black suitable for tv.â
âhow would something not be suitable? just wear itâ
You sighed deeply as you walked over to your suitcase and pulled out the dress that you only wore once simply because it rode up way too high all night long. You threw it on the bed and snapped a picture, sending it to him.
âThis is it and Iâm not wearing it.â
There was a couple moments that passed before you received a message back.
âi donât see the issueâ
âItâs revealing.â
âso is your ring gear but you still wear it?â You stared at that message wondering why you were standing in the middle of the room arguing with that man right now. And still, you continue to do so.
âThatâs ring gear. Thatâs different.â
This time, a good five minutes pass by before he replies. You had just tossed your phone on the bed when you figured he was done texting only to grab it almost as quickly as you tossed it when your phone buzzed again.
âill bring one of my hoodies thenâ
On the other end of the phone, Tyler was sitting at a restaurant table with his dad going over the next couple of weeks.
Taz was the one who told him that the two of you should match and it would probably do good at winning over the crowd and the viewers, but he was thinking more along the lines of his son wearing something other than the typical black attire he exhausts.
âItâs funny seeing you two up on that stageâ taz chuckles as he digs his fork into his pasta. âYouâre like the moon and sheâs the sun, for now at leastâ
Tylerâs eyes lifted from his phone. He was staring at the three little dots while he awaited your response. He said heâd bring you one of his hoodies and for some reason he was apprehensive about sending that message. It felt like odd territory to him to be letting you wear his clothes, but apparently all you had was a little black dress you didnât feel comfortable wearing.
âAnd Iâll tell you another thing, when you two team up in that ring, the fans are gonna lose their freakinâ mindsâ
Just then, a text came through and for some reason a slight smile landed on tylerâs lips, until his dad called it out.
âWhoâs that?â He questioned, trying to lean foward to steal a glance at his sonâs phone. He was quick to lock it and stuff it in his pocket.
âY/N.â He muttered before he dug his own fork into his food.
âHave you talked to her about the turn yet?â Taz asked, and Tyler froze for a second.
âNah, not yet.â
âShe doesnât know?â He questioned, looking a bit taken back. âWhat does she think the plans for you two are? You have to tell her, son.â
âIâm pretty sure sheâll figure it out on her own.â He grumbled, leaning back in his seat and dropping the fork against his plate.
âTylerâ taz shot him a look, âIt was your idea. You need to be the one to tell her straight.â
And it was his idea. He approached Tony shortly after he left you in the hallway that first time the two of you talked, and pitched the idea that you should have a heel run by his side. Tony wasnât apprehensive at all. To him, and to Hook, the idea of an Americaâs Sweetheart type of personality completely doing a 180 with the coldhearted handsome devil was golden.
It was just that he told Tony that heâd talk to you about it and never did. Plans had changed from the originality of the first idea and you had no clue about it.
âWhatâs gonna happen when sheâs supposed to go out in front of thousands of people as a heel, and sheâs thinking sheâs still this babyface character?â Taz reasons, making Tyler drop his eyes to the table.
âShe needs time to prepare. Itâs not easy going a complete 180 son. Especially not if you wait until last minute to tell her.â
He retrieved his phone from his pocket and read your message back.
âThank youâ was all you said. His thumbs hovered over the screen before he finally managed a response. It was hard to put it into words for some reason and when he realized what it sounded like, he had to send a double text for clarification.
âcan you come to my room laterâ
âto talk. itâs kinda importantâ
âââ
Later meant way later than you expected when Hook sent you the text letting you know what room number he was in at midnight.
Regardless of how tired you were, you were way more anxious than anything to figure out what was so important. You reached room 235 and knocked on his door. You heard some shuffling around before he opened it, hair even messier than usual and eyes low, like he was on the verge of passing out himself.
He stepped back and waved you in. You walked in and eyed him as he walked around you. He didnât sit down anywhere and you didnât make yourself comfy either. This was awkward. Probably the most awkward encounter youâve had with him yet.
Truth was that he was a little nervous. He didnât know how you were going to take the fact that this entire time, you were working on a heel turn without even knowing it. And he was the one behind it all.
He looked down at you, leaning against the wall as he contemplated the best way to go about the conversation. He never really got nervous about anything so this was fairly new and rather uncomfortable for him.
âDid you get that message from Tony about Wednesday?â He started off by asking, and you slowly nodded. You eyed him, trying to read an unreadable man.
âWhat did you think about it?â He was doing a good job at reading you though. Wasnât hard since you had a tendency to wear your emotions on your face. He could tell you were skeptical of him in that moment by the way you stared at him solely. Heâs seen that look from you a couple dozen times already and the only other one he can recognize that easily is the look you give when he makes a smart comment to you.
âYou mean about me using the title to hit Anna? It sounded like heel work to me.â You told him, watching as he nodded.
âCause it is.â
You blinked twice. âIâm not a heel.â
âI talked to Tony about this storyline a while back. We agreed itâs a better idea if you have a heel run with me.â
You stared up at him, a bit lost. The original idea was for the babyfaces to win in the end, since jack and Anna were already heels. Now it turns out that you had a whole new character transition coming you didnât even know about in the first place and frankly, you were unsure how to feel.
âWait so this whole time Iâve been working on turning heel? And you knew that and didnât tell me?â You peered your eyes at him, glaring. âWhy not?â
âNever had the chance, I guess.â He shrugged.
âNever had the chance?â You felt your eyes form into small slits. âYou had plenty. How come you got to decide what I do with my gimmick and I didnât even get the chance to give my opinion?â
Just then, a voice popped into his head, belonging to his dad. Women donât like when you lie to them, son.
He didnât intend to lie. It just happened that way. He kind of assumed youâd catch on with the whole heel turn thing and not ask questions but now that he knows you a little better, he knows better than that.
âYour goody two shoes persona wasnât working well for you anyway, Y/N. We knew it wouldnât sell for a storyline like this so we came up with something better. If Tony pitched the idea you wouldnât be getting all fired up at himâ
âItâs not the fact that Iâll be turning heel, itâs the fact that nobody told me. Especially you.â You pointed out. You werenât even mad about the new plans. You wouldâve agreed to it anyway if that was the first idea Tony pitched, but you were walking around with no idea what was coming for you and that alone made you more nervous than you needed to be.
âMaybe you didnât realize, but this is my very first storyline. The last thing I want to do is blow my chance at another one and Iâve been going around absolutely oblivious to the fact that Iâm expected to do a whole heel turn in who knows how soon, and you just let me look stupid when you were the one who unrightfully came up with the idea in the first place!â
You rarely yelled at people and he rarely ever got yelled at. It was heightening the tensions between both of you and he expected as much, but didnât foresee you chewing him out this bad.
âYouâre not going around looking stupid! Tony gives you the rundown every week. You know whatâs coming and if you didnât by now you wouldâve figured it out.â
You were somewhat baffled by his defensiveness. There was no true justification to what he omitted and he probably knew that full well and just didnât want to admit he was wrong.
âYeah, like last minute!â You shout, not meaning to be as loud as you were but you couldnât help it. âThis means something to me, Tyler!â
The use of his name took him back a little and you didnât mean for that to slip in the first place but for some reason Hook wasnât the first name to come out in that moment.
Just then, there was a knock on his door that caught both of your attentions.
âGo awayâ he shouted, but thatâs when his dadâs voice reached both of you.
âOpen the door, son.â
He rolled his eyes as he walked over. Opening the door and taking a step back so taz could walk in. It was strange to see him wearing pajamas but you ignored that.
âI can hear you two across the hall. What is going on in here?â
Tyler looked at you for a second before he looked back at his dad. âSheâs not happy about the heel run.â
âNo-â you stepped forward, correcting him. âIâm not happy about being lied to.â
Taz gave his son a look. A stern I told you so kind of glance.
âAlrightâ taz held his hands up, âI get that, Y/N. I told this man that he needed to let you know what was going on and not at the very last minute. He doesnât listen to nobody but himself and half the time that steers him wrong.â
âClearly.â You huffed out, crossing your arms.
He turned to Tyler and shrugged. âThis oneâs on you bud. Make it right but keep it down. We donât need to draw attention.â
You nodded and taz made his way back out, leaving you and Tyler alone once again. He dropped his head and ran his hands through his hair, thinking.
âIâm not happy about this.â You state.
âCouldnât tell.â He muttered under his breath. The fact that he had the audacity to be sarcastic was mind blowing to you. It made you actually want to scream at him but the last thing you wanted was Taz to come back and give you both some sort of lecture or something.
Tyler picked his head up, tired eyes landing on you. âIâm sorry for not telling you sooner.â He said, shrugging his shoulders. It was a half ass apology but the only one heâd ever given. He never really cared to give anyone that type of respect, or what he thinks is respect in his mind.
âThere was no reason why you kept it from me.â You remind him, watching him nod.
âI know.â He sighed.
âAnd I have a right to be mad right now because my whole entire image is about to change dramatically and I havenât even been prepared for it.â
âYeah, but youâre not doing it all on your own. Youâre doing it with me. Iâm turning too.â
âYeah, but you had time to prepare for that.â You pointedly state. âHow much time do I have? Literally Iâm about to start at the next show and I didnât even realize it.â
âItâs not something you really have to prepare for, Y/N. You just go out there and put on a show. Itâs not much different than what we do right now.â He walked around you and made his way to the bed, sitting down on the edge.
âItâs different for me. Iâm not mean in general. I need to practice.â
You watched a weird look cross over his face, bringing his lips up in a faint smirk. âYouâre not mean?â He quirked a brow. âNot even a little bit?â
âNo?â You shrugged.
You heard a low chuckle before he looked down at his phone in hand. You sighed when you realized that this conversation was probably going nowhere fast and the best thing you could do was accept the reality of the situation and work with what youâre dealing with.
âSince you seem to think itâs easy becoming a whole different person, tell me where to start.â You plopped down on the chair awkwardly positioned halfway across the room. His eyes lifted from his phone before he tossed it to the side.
âItâs just acting, Y/N. Itâs not like youâre becoming a different person all together. Itâs literally one day out of the week that you put on a tough face and sell a gimmick. Thereâs nothing complicated about it. Youâre complicating it yourself.â
You glared at him and the annoyance that was so evident in his tone. He sighed and leaned back on his hands, his eyes lowering by the second.
âI guess just start acting like you hate the world. Go out there and give everyone the biggest eat shit look. Be a little more aggressive in the ring and more no fucks given outside of it.â He advised, watching you nod before you stood up from the chair.
âSo basically, be more like you.â You pointed out. Before he could respond to that, you held up your hand to silence him. âGot it.â You said before you left his room.
âââ
âDoesnât make sense why he didnât tell you.â Skye says as you and her head down the hall towards catering. âItâs literally your gimmick changing.â
âI know.â You roll your eyes. You were sick and tired of thinking on it. At this point youâd decided to stop wishing you wouldâve known beforehand, since clearly there was no changing that, and take the bull by the horns.
Even though Tyler told you that nothing really changes, everything was about to. Your persona, your ring gear, especially your attitude. You had a lot of winning over to do and you were determined to use this transformation to the best of your ability. No matter how bitter you might feel about the fact that he kept the whole thing from you for weeks.
âDoesnât matter. Iâm gonna be a good heel. Iâve been thinking about all of it. I have tons of ideas and Iâm starting to actually get excited about it.â You told her, rounding the corner.
âSpeak of the devil.â Skye muttered. âWant me to wait up for you or are you good?â
âIâm good.â You nod as you watch him slowly approach with a black hoodie on and one draped across his shoulder.
He got a look from Skye as she passed by but he didnât pay attention. He pulled that hoodie off of his shoulder and handed it to you wordlessly. You eyed him as you took it from his hand and threw it over your own shoulder. You hadnât spoke since that night in his room and heâd been meaning to ask you if you were still mad but never ended up doing so.
The look you were giving him was telling him the answer is definitely yes, youâre still mad.
âIâm going out tomorrow to get some different clothes for my heel era so Ill give this back to you after weâre done tonight.â
âAlright.â He nodded, watching as you pull the hoodie off and hold it up to see it better. Clearly it was going to swallow you whole.
âThis might as well be a baggy dress on me.â You pointed out as you held it against your body, showing that it falls nearly to your knees. He noticed the same thing.
âYou can cut it if you need to.â He shrugged. âTo make it fit decently.â
Your brows knitted together as you looked back up at him. âIf Iâm giving it back why would I cut it?â
He shrugged again, looking down at the large hoodie covering you whole.
âYou can keep it. I donât really care. Might need to match again sometime later.â
For some reason he was being nice and it was strange to you. Youâd chalked it up to the fact that he feels guilty for lying to you. As he should. You tossed the hoodie back over your shoulder.
âIâll deal with it. You can have it back later.â You say before you brush past him and head down to catering to meet up with Skye.
âWhat happened?â She asked when you took a seat. Her eyes adverted to your shoulder. âIs that his hoodie he was just wearing?!â You could see the thoughts rolling around in her mind and quickly shut them down. You slung the hoodie down on the table.
âNo, not the one he was just wearing, Skye. Just one of them.â
âYouâre wearing his clothes? What did I miss in the last five minutes?â
âNothing.â You shake your head. âHe texted me a few days ago telling me I needed to wear black so we could match and I told him I didnât have anything. So he brought me his hoodie. Iâm giving it back right after our interference and getting some new clothes tomorrow.â
She held a weird grin on her face before she looked down at her phone. âMmkay.â She chuckled.
âWhat?â You peered your eyes at her.
âNothing itâs just- itâs funny.â She shrugged.
âWhat is?â
âThe fact that you pretend to be so annoyed by him but youâre willingly going to wear his hoodie.â She pointed at the clothing on the table. âItâs funny.â
âI donât pretend to be so annoyed by him. He actually does annoy me. I tried to be his friend but heâs so hot and cold all the time. He will be a decent person one minute and an asshole the next, itâs exhausting.â You rambled, making sure she got the point but judging by the smirk on her face, she didnât buy it.
âRight.â She nodded. âWell itâs almost nine. You should be meeting up with lover boy for your interference in a few minutes.â She teased, earning another roll of your eyes as you stood up from the table with a huff. âDonât forget his hoodie.â She said before you snatched it up and headed out of catering.
He wasnât there when you got to the gorilla but you knew heâd show soon. The directors were standing by, seemingly waiting for Hook so they could send you both out at the right time.
You took that time to toss the hoodie on, and it did nothing at all for your figure. It was far baggier than you expected, so much that the sleeves swallowed your hands.
You heard footsteps behind you tracking fast and turned to face the man in question. He took one look at you and his lips turned up in a smirk he was clearly trying to hide.
âThis thing is huge on me.â You deadpan.
âI told you to cut it.â He reminds you. Then he reaches down to the ends of the sleeves and rolls them up so your hands are exposed. âCanât fight if you donât have fists.â
You stared at him while he rolled the other sleeve up. When your hands were exposed you pulled your hair out of the hood and did your best to make yourself decent before the music hit. As much as you could given the circumstances, at least.
Tyler held his gaze on you for a moment longer before he tore it away the moment your eyes connected, looking down at the floor and fluffing his hair. For once, you matched. Youâd noticed his gold cross pendant he was wearing and remembered the one you had on yourself.
âFunny.â You said dryly. âI have one too.â
You pulled the necklace out from under the hoodie and laid it against your chest. He looked down and nodded. âI noticed.â He said, just as your music hit.
You turned around and got ready for your first appearance leading up to a heel turn. You didnât want to psych yourself out about it, but you felt a little nervous.
âNever thought Iâd be coming out to this type of song.â He commented from behind you.
âItâll be changing soon, evidently.â You muttered before heading down the tunnel.
Anna was staring at the stage when you and Hook came through the tunnel. He threw on his best scowl and it made it a little easier for you to mimick him. Jack came racing up the ramp, hook moving you to the side before he lunged towards Perry.
He snatched the belt clean from jacks hands and tossed it over to you. The crowd went completely and utterly insane as the boys backed down the ramp, throwing punches everywhere they could visibly see of each otherâs bodies.
You raced towards the ring as anna was sliding out of it, calling jacks name over and over in an attempt to get him away from hook, and as soon as she had noticed you getting close, she turned around and you slammed the title into the side of her head like sheâd done to you weeks prior.
She fell to the floor and Jack immediately rushed to her aid, screaming and cursing you and Hook as you held up the title and shouted back, âThis is gonna be his. You just wait! It was always his!â
A proud smirk from hook was caught on camera but you didnât get to see it. He knew that there were no lines to this. You just came up with something and the fast thinking was what really got him.
Jack then got up to his feet and raced towards you both, but hook stepped in front of you and held his arm out, blocking Perry from getting any closer.
On commentary, everyone was eating the whole situation up.
âLooks like the coldhearted handsome devil has made quite an impact on Y/N!â Excalibur shouted through his headpiece. âThis is wild!â
âThat it is my friend. I said it from the start. Those two are an absolute force to be reckoned with. God help jack and Anna. Wouldnât wanna be those clowns right now.â Taz chuckled.
You and hook walked back up to the stage and just before you were about to head through the face tunnel, he grabbed your wrist and nodded his head to the left.
You looked up at him, realizing it was happening this soon. You heard the commotion from thousands around the second you let him lead you through to the heel side, in your mind, you made it official. You were no longer the babyface youâd been for over a year. The transition was starting faster than youâd expected but, it felt a tad bit easier to have someone doing it with you.
âThatâs not a shock to me. I could see that coming with those two. Bonnie and Clyde of AEW.â tony announced from commentary.
âY/N and Hook have made their impression here tonight, and theyâre just getting started boys.â
You couldnât deny that you had an adrenaline rush running ramped. He turned around to let you catch up to him before you entered the hallway.
âHowâd it feel?â He asked.
At that moment you almost felt thankful to him for pitching the heel turn idea to Tony in the first place but then you remembered how he kept it from you for weeks. Either way you were able to not let that bother you for the time being.
âKind of exhilarating. Did you hear that crowd?â You say as you round the corner. Thereâs looks being sent your way from multiple talent. In your mind itâs judgement but in all actuality theyâre wondering how long you and Hook have been hooking up on the low.
âYeah, they loved it.â He says. He walked a little slower than usual. Usually he was ready to get to the shower but he didnât mind talking to you a little before that today. He wouldnât tell you that though.
âI didnât expect it.â You say. Just then someone calls your name. You turn around and find that itâs Ricky. He reaches his hand out to dap hook up but his eyes stay on you.
âThat was fucking crazy what you did out there.â He tells you, making a grin spread across your lips. âI never expected you to turn heel, especially not with my man Hook.â He throws his arm around hooks shoulders, and he stiffens them immediately.
âNext time youâre on I need a heads up so I can watch in the viewing room. Both of you.â He looks at Hook who suddenly has a stiff jaw. He picked up on a vibe Ricky was emitting and he didnât like it. He didnât know why but he wanted to get you away from him.
âThanks Ricky.â You smiled before he nodded his head and gave Hook a pat on his back. âGood choice man.â
You didnât miss the way hooks eyes followed him all the way down the hall. He suddenly looked like he reverted right back to the version of him you had an unfortunate encounter with weeks ago.
âYou okay?â You asked, but he didnât look at you until Ricky was out of his sights. Then he turned back started walking. You followed close behind, reaching for his arm when you realize you were being ignored.
âHeyâ you stopped him. He turned to face you but kept his head down, staring at the floor. âWhy do you suddenly look so mad? What just happened?â
âIâm not.â He picked his head up. You could see it on his face. It was clear as day whether he wanted it to be or not.
âYou are though.â You attested. âDid he do something to you? I thought you were friends.â
âCan you drop it?â He quickly cut in with a sharp tone. You took a step back, almost feeling like his words forcefully pushed you away. He noticed the distance you put in and his eyes seemed to have softened, but only for a mere second.
He turned back towards the hall and muttered, âsee you next week, Y/N.â Before, once again, he left you there watching him go.
âââ-
âClearly jealous.â Willow nods dramatically.
âObviously.â Skye agrees.
âThatâs hard for me to believe.â You tell them as you adjust your ring gear. You had a segment to shoot tonight in the ring. It was going to be the first time you actually talked in front of the crowd and you were beyond anxious about it. Tyler was going to be in the ring with you but he wasnât going to say anything and the fact that you hadnât spoken to him since that last conversation made you even more nervous.
âBecause he wants you.â Willow smirked. âAnd if you havenât already heard, everyone is talking about it.â
âWhoâs everyone?â You asked as you strapped the laces on your new shoes. It was going to be a little difficult to break in another pair but you assumed that was the price you pay when you turn heel and canât wear bright, glorious colors anymore.
That was the whole reason you donned an all black attire tonight. Black nails to match. It was never something you expected to wear but if you were going to be a heel you were going to rock it.
âEveryone as in everyone in this building right now.â Willow says. âPeople keep wondering how long youâve been secretly hooking up under everyoneâs nose.â
âBut weâre not.â
âNot yet.â Skye points. âI give it two more weeks and youâre going to send us a picture from his room.â
âI give it one and a half.â
You rolled your eyes and stood up from the bench. âItâs not gonna happen. Itâs nothing like that.â
âThen why did he suddenly get all weird when Ricky came up to you?â Willow raised her brows. âSkye, please tell me, why would a man do that?â
âBecause heâs jealous. Because he wants you.â She answered, and you shook your head back.
âWhatever. I have to go. I have a segment in the ring in about ten minutes.â
âGood luck. Weâll be watching from the viewing room.â Willow calls out as you head through the door.
To your surprise, Tyler was already waiting for you when you reached the gorilla. To his surprise, you looked like a certified heel. The new attire and dark makeup, it looked way too natural on you.
He had on that signature black hoodie which reminded you of the one you had laying across your bed that you forgot to give back to him.
âShit, I forgot I still have your hoodie.â You blurted, watching his dark eyes linger down to your attire before they made their way back to your face.
âTold you to keep it.â He said. It was clear he was in another one of his moods again tonight. It was really starting to bother you how he switches so fast, but right now the last thing you needed was to get in an argument and forget your lines. This time you knew you had them memorized thanks to staying up until three am studying them.
âIâll give it back next time I see you.â You mumbled before music started playing and a song he recognized, but not as your own reached his ears.
âYou changed the music?â He asked as he stepped to the side to let you lead.
âIâm a heel now, remember?â
You slid past him and made your way out. It was strange knowing you could no longer interact with the fans. Usually youâd blow a kiss or tag their hands but now you practically ignored them. At least they were engaged and supportive of this new you, so it seemed. Or maybe they were just going crazy over the two of you. Either way, you werenât the ones getting booâd.
You plastered a scowling look on your face and tried to keep it there as you made your way to the ring. Hook followed closely behind you, trying not to bob his head to your music.
You slid under the ropes and he took the steps, but you both met back in the middle. You took a minute to take in the reactions from the crowd. It was something you had to try hard not to smile about. Which was going to take some work.
Tony Schiavone handed you a mic and you snatched it from his hand, all for the dramatics, of course.
âLadies and gentlemen, if you havenât already noticed, youâre looking at two of the absolute best AEW has ever had to offer you.â You pointed at Hook who nodded his head, stepping side to side on his feet.
You werenât being booâd, which came as a thrill to you. If they were eating it up you just wanted to give them more.
âWhen Anna Jay and Jack Perry made the unfortunate decision to target us, we made the decision to fight back, and what you saw last week when I knocked that bitch out with Hookâs FTW title-â you paused to make sure the fans were taking it all in, âIt was just the beginning.â
You looked over at Hook who continued to nod, chewing on a piece of gum as his eyes scanned the crowd.
âAnd when Anna recovers from that blow to the head she took from me, Iâll be waiting. And as for Jack, wellâ you chuckled darkly as you nodded towards your partner, âLetâs just say Hook was some fun things planned for him.â
He looked over at you, and you could see a faint smile on his face before he ran his hand over his lips.
âYou see, I realized something a little while ago. You know, after Anna smashed the FTW title into my head?â You reminded the crowd of weeks ago.
âItâs that being nice gets you used and abused. All the times Iâve let that bitch get away with attacking me, I regret it. I really do, but itâs alright, because it will never happen again.â
The crowd popped when you took a pause, but you had to keep that cold expression on your face.
âSo Anna Jay, Jungleboy, if youâre watching from the hospital, I just want to say, get well soon. Please.â The camera panned on you and you shot a mischievous grin before you dropped the mic and heard the crowd scream their lungs out.
Your music hit and Hook walked over to the ropes, holding one up for you to slip through.
You headed towards the stage, trying not to let a smile break out. You felt his arm brush yours as he walked alongside you.
When you disappeared through the tunnel you huffed out a deep breath. âFuck that was exciting.â You chuckled as you placed your hand over your racing heart.
âFun isnât it?â He asked as he squeezed into the space next to you.
âYeah, really fun.â You said before rounding the corner to find Skye standing there. Her match was next but youâd forgotten that in the mix of everything. Her eyes lingered to the man next to you before they fell to you with a smirk plastering her face.
âThat was hot.â She remarked as she walked up to you. Tyler stopped when you did, to your surprise and Skyeâs.
âYou think it was good?â You asked.
âIt was perfect. You are doing the damn thing, isnât she hook?â
You could see what she was doing and tried to send her a look but her eyes were on him instead.
âYeah, she did real good.â He nodded. Thatâs when she looked at you again and caught the look you sent.
âYou two are a good duo. Canât wait to see what comes next.â She ran her hand over your arm before she brushed past you.
Tyler looked back down at you and you hoped he didnât pick up on Skyeâs insinuations. He did, but he didnât mention it.
He started walking when you did, and again, you saw all the people around with their eyes on the two of you. You wondered if Skye and Willow were right. Did everyone think you and Tyler were hooking up? And if so, why? You didnât think you gave that impression at all. It was just acting, like Tyler told you.
Truth is that Tyler had been approached quite a few times, being asked about you more often than not. He never gave anyone a straight answer, which obviously left them to make their own assumptions.
âEveryone keeps staring.â You whispered.
âTheyâll do that.â He muttered back.
You were heading towards the locker room when Jeff Hardy came around a corner, a smile brought to his and Hookâs face when they saw each other.
âWhatâs up man.â Jeff greeted, âAnd maâam.â
âWhatâs upâ hook nodded.
Jeffâs eyes adverted between the two of you, then landed back on Hook. âWhen are we gonna see this duo beat some ass?â He asked, âIâm ready for it.â
âWhenever Tony calls the shot.â Hook shrugged. âIâm ready too. I think we both are.â He glanced at you. Jeff brought a full fledged smile to Hookâs face pretty easily. One you hadnât seen from him in all the weeks youâd been around him.
âItâs highly anticipated. From a lot of people, actually.â Jeff chuckles and hook drops his head, seeming to try to hide that smile that you evidently caught.
âWe can tell.â He says.
Jeffâs eyes switch back to you again before he looks back at Hook. Both men were grinning from ear to ear as if they had some sort of secret telepathy going on.
âAlright well Iâll see you around brother, and you maam.â He nodded his head and you nodded back.
âAlright bro.â Hook said before Jeff walked around the two of you.
âBest friend?â You teased, watching as he brought his hand to his mouth, physically wiping away that smile.
âSomething like that, yeah.â He said as the two of you made your way towards your respected rooms.
âKind of cool how everyone likes our heel turn. I thought weâd get hate for it.â
âWe still might, but itâll be alright.â He shrugged. You reached the end of the hall that branches off into two opposing directions and it hit you that this was the first time he hadnât left you standing in the middle of it.
He stopped and turned to face you, adjusting the collar of his hoodie.
âYou did good out there.â He tells you, surprisingly. âYou should think so too.â
You were somewhat dumbfounded at the fact that he actually complimented you without underlying sarcasm. You smiled even though you didnât mean to, assuming your lips had a mind of their own.
âThanks.â You say as you suddenly feel the air getting thick, but not as suffocating as usual.
Hook nodded before his eyes adverted to the empty hall behind you. He didnât have anywhere to really be, but he told you he did.
âIâm gonna go shower.â He lied for no reason. You just nodded. You felt your hands clamming up, sweat spreading across your palms and didnât like it.
âAlright well, see you next week?â You didnât know why you asked. Of course youâd see him next week. Itâs been like that for a while now.
âYeah.â He nodded before he brushed past you, heading one way while you headed the other.
ââââ
A text from Tony at eleven in the morning got your attention that following Saturday.
âThis is it. Big match Wednesday.â Was all it said.
It felt like youâd anticipated this whole thing for so long and now that it was coming you werenât sure how to feel. You stared down at the message until another one came through, but not on the group chat.
âyou ready?â He asked, clearly referring to Tonyâs previous message.
âNo lolâ you replied back, but you were being honest.
âyouâre readyâ he quickly responded, and all you did was stare at those words for a minute to long.
Why it was making you nervous, you werenât sure. Probably because it was your biggest match to date and held a lot of value to your current heel run but, what happens next? What happens when you and Hook beat Jack and Anna? Is there even going to be a you and Hook anymore?
Lots of questions were left unanswered because you were too hesitant to ask them. You just decided to play it by ear, but the thought of a heel run all on your own wasnât very appealing to you. As much as you didnât want to admit it, having Hook alongside you, sort of paving the way for all your antics made things less worrisome and a lot more fun for you.
You truly couldnât picture doing it without him and that alone was something you never expected.
Another text came through and you were surprised to find that it was Skye. She sent you the picture from AEWâs instagram account when they announced the tagteam match on Wednesday.
âThis is your biggest match yet girl. Iâm so proud of you. Youâre gonna kill it!â
You smiled down at your phone and typed a couple hearts back. The support you had made things a little easier but your nerves were still trying to get the best of you, and you assumed it was going to be that way until the match was over.
ââââ
It was anticipated and highly talked about all over the internet. You were constantly being tagged on twitter, instagram and TikTok. It seemed like the whole world was awaiting this match and the time had finally come.
You were heading towards the gorilla with a racing heart. You kept trying to tell yourself that this was just like any other match, any other opponent but it wasnât. It was your first match as a heel, first match as a tagteam and longest tv time to date. You had a couple moves you were expected to pull that you never had before and there was very little familiarity around the entire situation.
âHeyâ you heard a deep voice from behind you. You turned around to find Ricky standing there.
âHeyâ you smiled, adjusting your black wristbands.
âGood luck on your match tonight. Just wanted to say that.â He grinned, and it was then that you picked up on a vibe that you werenât all that into. You took a small step back but kept your politeness.
âThanks, I appreciate it.â You say. Before you can turn back, he asks another question. One that catches you off guard.
âHey, are you and hook like, a thing?â
Your brows knitted together but you wiped that look away quickly. You were about to respond when you felt eyes on you, and just like all the times before, you knew Hook was around.
Rickyâs eyes adverted above your head and thatâs when you felt warmth radiating against your back.
âY/N, you ready?â His deep voice reached you, making your heart flutter for some reason.
He held his eyes on Ricky as you turned around to face him. You could see that familiar expression like before. Jaw set and teeth clenched. It was then that you realized Skye and Willow were right. Hook was jealous. He didnât get that way at all when Jeff approached the two of you. It was just Ricky.
You spared the man a glance over your shoulder and caught the disappointment on his face, but you couldnât take enough time to think about it when you had a match in a few minutes.
âWhat was he talking to you about?â Hook muttered next to you.
You felt a little nervous to say it, but when his eyes landed on you, it urged you to tell him.
âHe wished me luck on the match and⊠he asked if we were a thing.â
His jaw throbbed and you caught it, but by the time that happened you were already reaching the gorilla.
What you didnât know was that Ricky had been coming up to him asking the same thing, and at one point he expressed that he wanted to ask you to go out with him. He thought he made it clear when he glared the man down but evidently he didnât make it clear enough. Either that or Ricky just didnât care, which was what Hook was now figuring on.
He knew he couldnât get distracted. A lot was riding on this match for you and he didnât want to ruin that. He pushed the thoughts out of his head and turned to face you instead.
âReady?â He asked, but he could tell that you were anxious. You still had those wide, round eyes that reminded him of a puppy and as much as you might be good at playing a heel, you just werenât that person on the inside.
âReady as I can be.â You nodded, attempting to collect yourself.
Jackâs music was almost finished and you knew that meant it was time for you and Hook to come out. You took in a deep breath and he noticed that it was shaky.
âSomething that helps me when I feel under pressure is thinking about the look on the faces of all the people who ever doubted me when they have to watch me prove them wrong.â He blurted, shrugging a shoulder.
You thought on that. Remembering back when you first came to AEW and had no foothold in the industry. All the mean, offensive things youâd heard about yourself start replaying over and over again in your mind and to your surprise, you felt a little bit of adrenaline surge.
âThatâs helpful, actuallyâ you tell him, noticing the right side of his mouth tipping upwards.
Just then, the intro of Chairmanâs Intent boomed through the speakers and Hook nodded. âRemember that if you get nervous.â
You nodded back before he stepped to the side, as he usually did, to let you lead the way.
You headed out with him trailing right behind you and held your eyes on both Anna and Jack standing in the ring, amping each other up.
The glares being shared between the four of you was making for great tensions arising in the arena and the crowd was intensely engaged in all of it, which made you happy, of course, but you couldnât show that.
You headed in one direction and he headed in the other, you both circling the ring with eyes on your opponents.
When you passed each other, he held his hand out. You tagged it as you walked past and that simple interaction had the crowd bursting with cheers.
You met up at the steel steps and he stepped back, waving you to go first. You stepped up onto the canvas and slipped between the ropes, Hook following. He didnât lean against the turnbuckles like he usually did but you assumed that was because this wasnât one of his typical matches. He stayed at your side and shot daggers to jack and Anna.
You and Anna were going first. You walked up to her, showing no signs of intimidation as you stood toe to toe. She smirked down at you before forcefully pushing you a foot back, making you stumble before you caught your footing.
You wiped that grin off of her face when you delivered a harsh slap to her cheek and from that point on, the two of you were rolling around the ring, throwing fists and kneeing ribs until Paul said it was enough.
You put some separation between you two and thatâs when she tagged Jack, so you went to your corner where hook was waiting with an extended hand, eyeing you as you approached.
âYou good?â
âIâm goodâ you slapped his hand and he hopped over the top rope, lunging towards back with a force that knocked him off his feet.
The crowd went wild at his explosiveness and the energy in the arena was absolutely riveting. It couldâve given you a high at that point.
You watched as Hook clotheslined jack right over the ropes, and when he hit the floor, Anna hopped off of the canvas. Hook jumped down and grabbed jack by his hair, but thatâs when Anna came behind him and jabbed her elbow into the side of his neck, bringing him down to his knees.
You hopped down and raced over, grabbing her from behind and spinning her until she slammed into the barricades. Hook watched for a moment before he returned his attention to jack.
The two of them were back in the ring while you and Anna threw punches on the outside.
She was way more aggressive than you were, making you feel the urge to hit a little harder. You heard Hook shouting and you both looked up, finding that Jack had used Hookâs redrum against him, but Hook was trying to fight it, and failing.
You kicked Anna back and created enough space to slide under the ropes and break the hold. Hook fell to his knees and jack rose to his feet, walking you back towards the turnbuckles before you felt annas hands around your ankles and your face crashed into the canvas.
You lifted your head to see blood stains dripping from your mouth. Your tongue slid over your teeth to see if one was broken but all you tasted was metallic.
You glanced up to see Hookâs eyes on you. He was in the middle of getting jack ready for a German Suplex when he got distracted by the blood pouring from your busted lip.
He snapped back into it and slung jack over, then got back to his feet like he didnât take a harsh landing himself and walked over to you.
Kneeling down, he scanned every inch of your face. This wasnât planned and you both knew that. There was concern in his eyes that quickly turned into undoubted rage when jack grabbed Hookâs shoulders from behind and slammed him down to the canvas.
It was only then that he realized you were bleeding but by that time, it was too late for him.
Hook rose up quickly and threw his fists into jacks jaw. He stumbled back, falling against the turnbuckles and hook just didnât stop.
Paul had to separate the two, and you when he did, Jack shouted out, âI didnât know she was bleeding man!â
You got back up and saw the look on Annaâs face when she noticed all the blood leaving a trail from your lip to your chin. She didnât mean it, and you werenât mad. Accidents happened all the time, itâs a part of the business.
Hookâs eyes followed you as you walked around the ring back over to your corner, and tensions seemed to have died down when he saw that you were okay.
You held your hand out for him, knowing you and Anna were the ones finishing the match and he hesitated a little bit before he tagged you in.
âYou alright?â He asked, and you nodded before you hopped over the top rope.
Anna lunged foward and you stepped to the side, letting her slam into the turnbuckle. Hook smirked at this, it was a classic move.
You grabbed her by the back of her head and slammed her down on her back, watching as she clutched her neck and rolled around, before you pulled her back up.
You knew what was next and had to remember what Hook said that night that you learned youâd be using his finisher to end this match.
Anna was a good bit taller but since you brought a six foot man to his knees, you knew size wasnât an obstacle.
She turned her back in an attempt to create some distance and you quickly sprung forward and hopped on her. Jack immediately slid under the ropes but thatâs when hook raced in and wrapped his arm under his jaw, immediately making him wobbly at the knees.
âLock it in!â Hook shouted at you as he hopped up and wrapped his legs around jacks waist, effectively bringing him down to the canvas.
You dug your knees into Annaâs sides and reared back, holding on tight when your back hit the canvas and within only seconds, they both tapped out and Hookâs music bursted through the arena, though it wasnât too easy to hear over the eruption of the crowd.
You kicked Annaâs limp body off of you and looked up to see Hookâs extended hand. You took it, helping you to your feet before he held both your hands in the air.
His eyes wouldâve been scanning the arena but they were focused on the blood smearing your skin instead. He nodded towards the tunnels and you lead the way, wiping your mouth with the back of your hand, and feeling the sting of an open wound.
âThat was a hell of a match right there boysâ taz exclaimed from commentary.
âThat it was, taz, those two know how to bring the energy to an arenaâ tony chipped in.
âIâll tell you what, I wasnât too thrilled about the new attitude from Y/N at first, but sheâs toughened up a lot since her and Hook teamed up.â Excalibur adds.
âHeâs coldhearted and sheâs following in his footsteps I guessâ tony chuckled
âNo, Iâll tell you this much. Iâve had many, many conversations with the coldhearted handsome devil and with Y/N myself and those two simply have like minds, like-personalities and like-spirits. We shouldâve seen this one coming boys, it was bound to happen.â
As soon as the arena was behind you, you felt his hand on your shoulder, turning you to face him. His eyes were trained on the laceration but you quickly covered it with your hand.
âItâs fineâ you tell him. You wanted to continue feeling the rush that the big win gave you, wondering why he didnât seem excited at all.
âI donât care about the cut, Iâm too pumped up right nowâ you tell him as you head through the tunnel with a little pep in your step.
âItâs deep.â He says as he catches up. âI think you should go make sure you donât need stitchesâ
âItâs just a cut, itâs fine Tyler.â
Accidentally once again, you said his real name. Once again, he felt a little taken back by it, but tried not to show it.
âItâs bleeding a lot.â He keeps on, like it hasnât stopped at all.
You wiped the blood with the back of your hand and he grabbed your wrist to show you the crimson covering your skin. âThat is a lot.â
âIâve had worse, seriously. Iâll just go wash my face and hold a gauze to it for a couple minutes and itâll stop.â
Before he could object again, Skye and Willow were both racing up to you. Their arms engulfed you and you felt the giddiness arising within you again. You glanced over at Tyler who was watching the whole group hug with an evident, proud looking smile.
âYou are the baddest fucking bitchâ Skye says when they unwrap their arms. âThat shit was so good I would watch it a hundred times!â
You couldnât contain the smile breaking out, and thatâs when Willow asks, âDoes your mouth hurt? That was a nasty fall.â
âYeah but she got up and kept fighting cause sheâs a bad fucking bitchâ Skye grins.
âItâs fine, I donât even feel it Iâm too happy right nowâ you say as you glance back over to see that Tyler was no longer there. Your eyes adverted all around but he had disappeared elsewhere.
âCâmon, weâre gonna get you cleaned up.â Willow grabs your hand and pulls you along. âOh, and weâre going out tonight to celebrate you.â
ââââ
You stumbled through the hotel doors at one in the morning, wobbly on your feet with willow and Skye by your side. Youâd went out to a bar on the north side of town and downed way too many drinks that you could actually remember but you were still on a high from your match that you didnât even realize how drunk you actually were.
You were all three laughing amongst yourselves about nothing in particular when you caught sight of Taz coming out of the hotel gym.
He had an amused smirk on his face when he approached the three of you.
âLadies, looks like you had a good time tonight.â He said as he eyed all three of you before focusing on you specifically.
âYou took a nasty fall, Y/N, my son was just telling me about how you were too stubborn to get it checked out.â He chucked. Thatâs when your eyes lingered over to the gym doors.
âYeah but itâs fineâ you slurred. âI was so pumped I didnât even feel a thing.â
âBe careful about that adrenaline rush, it can sneak up on you sometimesâ he said.
âOkay. Is he in there?â You pointed to the gym, stumbling a little bit.
âTyler? Yeah, he always does his workouts at this ungodly hour.â
When you heard that, thatâs all your attention was focused on. You looked over and Skye and Willow who already knew what you were thinking, but they didnât say anything except, âWell see you tomorrow girlâ
Taz eyed you before a smirk came to his face and he shook his head with a low laugh. âAlright, Iâm off to my room. Tell my son he needs to stop calling me down to the gym at anytime past midnight and call his tagteam partner from now on instead.â
You nodded, a smile willingly spreading across your lips before you headed towards the gym. You opened the door to find him sitting on the weight bench staring down at his phone, and right as you saw that, your phone buzzed in your pocket.
He looked up at you, brows knitted but with amusement in his eyes.
âThatâs weird, I just texted you. Do you teleport now?â He asked, then cringed to himself. That was stupid, why did he say that?
You chuckle nonetheless as you stumbled in, thinking you werenât noticeably drunk but it was way more obvious than you thought.
âHave fun?â He asked as he watched you head over to the bench across from his and sit down.
âI didâ you grinned sheepishly. âItâs been such a good day, actually.â
He nodded back, eyes lingering to the laceration on your bottom lip that was already healing.
âI just ran into your dadâ you tell him, swaying side to side.
âDid you?â He smirks, and you wished your vision wasnât so blurry.
âYeah, said to tell you stop calling him down here so late and call your tag team partner insteadâ you hiccuped.
He dropped his head. âOf course he didâ he said as he shook it. You watched as he ran his hand through his hair and fluffed it out.
âHeyâ you catch his attention.
âHeyâ he says back.
âWhatâs coming next?â You asked the question thatâs been running through your mind for a couple of days leading up to the match. âYou know, we won tonight. The rivalry doesnât really have anywhere else to go. So what does that mean for us? Are we done being partners now that weâve beat them? I mean I know you still have the FTW title to win back, and I can be there ringside for it⊠if you wantedâ
His eyes dropped to your fingers fidgeting over your lap.
âI donât really know. What do you want to happen?â He asked, knowing already that he has thought about this same exact thing and the idea of the two of you no longer being a duo didnât sit right with him, but he hadnât mentioned anything to Tony and Tony hasnât said anything else either.
âI want things to stay like they areâ you admitted with another hiccup. âWe have fun, donât we?â
He had to keep in mind that you were drunk and now probably wasnât the best time to take anything you said to heart, but it was hard for him not to.
âYeah, we do.â He nods.
âSo letâs call Tony and tell him weâre going to keep doing this heel run togetherâ you pulled out your phone and read the text that was floating on your screen from Tyler earlier.
âcan you come to the gym, i want to talk to you about somethingâ
âWait, what did want to talk about?â You asked. He shifted around and straightened his posture as he rubbed his palms over his sweats.
Before he texted you that, he was having a talk with his dad about you. It wasnât often that Tyler came to him for advice on women but he didnât really know who else he could trust.
He admitted that even though he tried to fight against it, heâd fallen pretty hard for you and it was starting to eat away at him. He didnât have the impression that you would feel the same way, even though Taz completely disagreed with him on that.
He told his son that he would bet a million bucks that the feeling was mutual, claiming that a connection like the two of you have is undeniable and if heâs ever listened to anything taz told him, it needed to be that.
âYou two remind me of myself and your mother when we were youngâ he recalls his dad saying. âWe were too stubborn to admit we had feelings until we got drunk one night and it all spilled outâ
âTyler?â Your voice broke him out of his own thoughts. âWhat did you want to talk to me about?â
He never had to have a conversation like this before. He never really wanted anyone for more than just a fun night before. His adams apple bobbed as he swallowed thickly and tried to keep his nerves under control.
âI- uh-â he rubbed the back of his neck as he inhaled deeply. Letting it all out in a quick huff.
âI been thinking a lot about me and you, and I donât want to stop what weâve been doing, but I do want to start doing moreâ he danced around the confession and you couldnât quite piece it together.
âLike⊠how?â You asked, a little lost.
âI want to be with you.â He blurted, feeling his cheeks burn the minute the words flew from his mouth. His eyes scanned your face, studying it, searching for a reaction but you were blank faced and for once he couldnât read you.
âYou want to be with me? Like, be with me?â You were sure you werenât hearing him right. Maybe everyone else thought you and Tyler were a thing but you never thought it was actually going to be an option.
âYes, I doâ he boldly stated, holding his eyes on you, watching as all the conversations you, Willow and Skye had over the last couple of weeks flashed through your mind and you couldnât believe they were right the entire time.
âBut if you donât feel the same way, itâs okay, Iâll still do the heel run with you and we can forget I ever said anything.â He lowly muttered, waiting for what felt like an eternity for you to say anything back.
âOr if youâre already into someone else, like Ricky or something-â
âIâm notâ you blurted out. âIâm not into anyone else.â
You couldnât ignore the way your heart was beginning to race and your skin felt like it was engulfed in a million small fires. You stared back at him, your eyes lingering to his lips when his tongue slid over them.
A bunch of feelings youâd suppressed out of sheer denial suddenly came rushing in and it was now impossible to force them back again. All the tensions between the two of you, the anger and the confusion over the last few weeks was quickly diminished by an even stronger feeling of pure anticipation and desire.
The space between the two of you was too much and it was if Tyler had that same thought when he stood up from the weight bench and extended his hand. You took it, and he helped you to your feet.
You were unsure what to do with your hands when he let go but it became easy to find a place for them to rest on his waist when his finger curled beneath your chin, angling your head up, lips wouldâve been brushing against each other if you were just a little taller.
His eyes were soft and a sprinkle of hazel appeared against the dark brown, and you realized you never noticed that before now.
He took in every inch of your face with a slow and meaningful gaze before an easy smile spread across his lips and a dimple soon followed.
You felt butterflies erupt in your stomach and spread through your whole body when he leaned in. You rose to you tip toes and your lips met gently, slowly, and tenderly. The way they fit like two pieces of a puzzle, moving in sync and pure harmony had your head spinning.
The taste of mint lingered on your tongue long after his lips were no longer on yours and you didnât want it to vanish anytime soon.
He looked at you with eyes of adoration, his fingers slipping from your chin and pulling you into his chest. You buried your face into the fabric of his t-shirt, taking in the scent of cologne that you recognized from his hoodie you never gave back to him, and thatâs when you remembered it.
âI still have your hoodie.â You chuckled, feeling his chest rise and fall with a low chuckle of his own.
âKeep it. Itâs yours. Itâs been yours since I gave it to you.â
âââ-
From that night in the hotel room gym on, you and Tyler were always together at the arena and outside of it. Your heel run was going strong. You were an undefeated tagteam that nobody wanted to step in the ring with.
After two weeks of keeping your love life on the low, he decided he wanted everyone to know. You were walking back from another successful match, standing on the stage when he grabbed your hand and spun you to him, placing a kiss to your lips that made the whole arena erupt in screams and chants of your conjoined names the fans came up with.
âBet nobody saw that comingâ Tony sarcastically remarked from commentary. âAEWâs modern day Bonnie and Clydeâ
âLooks like you need to set an extra plate at the table when the holidays roll around, Taz.â
âIâll gladly do that my friend.â Taz grinned as he watched you and hook exit through the tunnel.
âWeâve never seen the coldhearted handsome devil show any sort of emotion whatsoever⊠except with her!â Excalibur exclaims.
âGuess heâs not so coldhearted after allâ Tony chips in.
âOh no, heâs coldhearted son, but not towards her. Everyone else including myself gets the cold shoulder from my man, but sheâs something special to him.â
Tyler walked you to the locker room and leaned against the wall. A soft smile stays on his face whenever the cameras arenât around now.
âYou looked gorgeous slamming Brittâs head into the canvas.â He taunts, earning a laugh from you.
âThanks, I didnât really tryâ you bantered back.
âNever have to.â He grins as he leans in and brushes his lips against yours before they fully connect.
âEveryone knows nowâ he says when you pull apart.
âThey probably already did. Weâve been caught making out a lotâ you remind him, earning that dimple you love so much to appear.
âTrue. Iâm glad we donât have to hide it anymore. I can officially call you mine.â He grins.
You place another gentle kiss to his lips before you whisper against them, âIâve been yours this whole timeâ

You hadnât meant to develop feelings for Angus. Truthfully, you wished it would go away as quickly as it was brought on. But with every moment you spent together you could feel yourself slipping further and further into the hole youâd dug yourself. He was a major pain in the ass, but he was also sweeter to you than anyone else had ever been. There was never a moment with Angus that you didnât feel completely loved and cared for. He listened to all your problems, offered advice when you asked, cheered you on in all aspects of your life, and had always been there for you. You did all the same things for him gladly, and it created a beautiful friendship that cultivated your growing romantic love for him.
You and Angus met when you were twelve years old. You both attended the same private school for junior high and you had become fast friends. You were truly inseparable: walking to and from school, eating lunch, walking to class, hanging out after school, all the way down to your extracurriculars, you did everything together. When high school came around, you were devastated by the news that you would be attending different schools. You were shipped off to an all-girls boarding school and him to an all-boys school. However, with each school that he was sent to after being kicked out, you managed to keep in touch. Writing letters, spending all your dimes at the payphones, sneaking out: you refused to let distance break apart you and your very best friend.
When you realized your feelings for him last summer, you decided your best course of action was to bury them away. You had no reason to believe he felt the same way, so you figured if you never did anything about them, they would fade away and you wouldnât risk losing him. However, burying your feelings only served to make them stronger. Suddenly, every time he touched you it felt like all your nerves lit on fire. Your heart raced in his presence and nothing else seemed to matter but him.
In an attempt to forget about your feelings for Angus, you begged your girlfriends at school to set you up on blind dates with other boys. You desperately wanted to just meet a half-decent boy that would fix the situation you had gotten yourself into. Unfortunately, though, all of the boys were either terrible people or just didnât feel right. Even the nice ones you managed to find flaws in. In your mind, although you hated to admit it, nobody else was as good as Angus.
Another date in which the boy talked all about himself and barely let you get a word in led you to this moment. You stand at the window of your longtime best friend's dorm and knock just loud enough for him to hear. The chilly December wind sends a shiver through your body, and you hug your arms closer to your body.
Angus shoots his head up from the magazine he was half-reading. His eyes meet yours and he clumsily stands up from his tiny dorm room bed. He rushes over to the window and slides it open, beckoning you in from the cold. A record is spinning on the player, and you can hear the Beach Boys singing âGod Only Knows,â one of your favorites.
"What the hell are you doing here? I thought you had that date with what's-his-name?" he asks, surprised but still visibly happy to see you. It's then that he notices your expression. Your features are laced with sheer disappointment and exhaustion. His face softens and he guides you over to his bed and sits down next to you.
"Didn't go so well." you say simply, eyes cast down to the floor. You shrug the heavy jacket off your body and sigh.
"I thought you liked this guy?"
"I thought so too. He was so nice to me when we met, but he was horrible when we went to dinner." you groan.
"I'm sorry. You wanna talk about it?" he asks. You shake your head. "Okay then." He takes your hand and interlaces your fingers comfortingly. You mindlessly rub your thumb over his knuckle as a means of grounding your swimming thoughts. Your spirit feels crushed from the failed attempt at making something work with the stupid boy you thought might distract you from whatever you feel for your best friend. Overwhelming feelings of failure and frustration cause emotion to rise in you. Your chest feels heavy, a lump forms in your throat, and tears begin to well in your eyes. Angus notices you becoming upset and turns his body to face you more directly.
âHey, hey, itâs okay.â he comforts, pulling you into him and wrapping his long arms around you. A sob racks through your chest.
âIâm so sick of it, Angus.â you cry. Angus feels his heart crack. Unbeknownst to you, Angus hated it when you went on these dates. Every time you told him about a new guy you were going out with, his blood boiled. At first, he couldnât quite figure out why it made him so upset. He chalked it up to protectiveness over his best friend, or even just being sad you wonât be around him as much. But as time went on, it became increasingly obvious that these theories were not the whole story. He was jealous of those boys.
He didnât think anyone could ever know you as well as he did, or care for you the way he wanted to.
Angus had enough. He knew in this moment that he never wants to see you hurt like this again, even if it means breaking his own heart. He takes a deep breath before taking the leap of faith.
âY/N, none of these guys youâre going out with are even close to good enough for you. You deserve the best the world has to offer." He pauses slightly to think of how to tell you his feelings. "Youâre hilarious, youâre wicked smart, youâre way too clumsy for your own good, youâre goofy, your smile lights up every room, youâre beautiful, youâre caring and loving even when I donât deserve it." He stops, smiling at his next words. "Youâre perfect.â You pull your head away from his chest, staring into his eyes, tears still stained on your cheeks.
âI love you.â he says, almost whispering. Your eyebrows raise a little with bewilderment and hope.
âLike, you love love me?â you ask.
âYeah. Love love.â he confirms.
Another tear spills from your eye, but this one is joyful. Your heart swells with happiness and you give a genuine and bright smile. Butterflies flutter in your stomach and relief washes over you.
âI love you too, Angus. God, I feel so silly right now. I only went out with those other guys to get you off my mind.â you laugh. He smiles back at you, a rare wide smile gracing his usually sour appearance. He wipes your tears away, his face only inches away from yours. Heâs looking at you with more love than youâd ever seen.
âCan I kiss you?â he asks, shyly.
âOf course.â you respond, feeling nervous but dizzy with excitement. His hands cup your cheeks, and he gently moves forward, closing the gap between you. Your lips finally meet and itâs everything you ever dreamed of. His lips are slightly chapped, but they fit so perfectly with yours. Every nerve in your body is buzzing with exhilaration. You both grin like idiots through the kiss.
Eventually but reluctantly, you both pull away from the kiss. He smiles and pulls you back into him, laying you both down on his teeny bed. Your head is resting on his chest, and he has both arms wrapped around you. He places a gentle, loving kiss to the top of your head.
The record is still spinning across the room, and itâs nearing the end of the song.
God only knows what Iâd be without you⊠the Beach Boys croon.
Suddenly, youâve found that one of your favorite songs has taken on a new meaning.
God only knows what youâd be without him.

My Thoughts on Vercury + Doodles
To be honest, my relationship with this pairing is literally a love-hate one.
When I first heard about it, Iâm not going to lie, I was super turned off. This was during SolarBallâs early episodes, where Mercury was shown constantly being bullied by Venus and I could not imagine being paired with my bully if I was in a similar situation. There was no chemistry between them, and even if there was, it wouldnât be healthy. Especially during the whole Venusâ name arc, where Mercury constantly mocked him and got an asteroid to the face. Personally, the ship made no sense to me and sounded downright toxic. But of course, the more recent episodes came out. The atmosphere (even though thereâs no atmosphere in space lol) between Mercury and Venus seemed⊠more neutral than hostile or tense. This is mostly because Mercury started to stand up for himself. Two scenes of note is the moment where Mercury laughed at Venusâ comment during the Rocky Planets episode and when Mercury snapped at Venus during the âSolar System by Sizeâ arc. Whatâs interesting is that after Mercury yells at him, Venus looked regretful, which was definitely new. Mercury didnât shout at him about the consequences of him siding with the Sun or anything like that either, he simply said that he was fine with Venus hating him âfor the sake of everyone elseâ. After that, Venus didnât immediately change his mind but did try to explain his side of things, which was also new. As of right now I still donât see anything happening between them, but I definitely do see the appeal in the ship and the potential for it to eventually happen.
From a settings standpoint- the potential is obvious. We donât know what happened to cause Venus to pick on Mercury so much, we donât know what their past was like, and with the answers to those questions revealed, Mercury and Venus might reconcile. Venus clearly has a lot of problems with his conditions as being called âa literal hellâ by the Earthlings, and Mercury also has his own insecurities and issues with the Sun. Mercury is already learning how to deal with these things, but Venus hasnât quite figured it out yet. Iâm quite interested on how Venus will be developed and how Mercury will play a role in this. I donât think Venus downright despises Mercury, and vice versa, but they do have a ton of shit to sort out which may lead to a hopefully happy ending. Now, from a character standpoint thereâs also a ton of potential. Venus and Mercury are kind of opposites, and yknow the saying⊠opposites attract. It would be really sweet if Mercury could calm Venus down when he was getting too ticked off, and Venus could treat Mercury nicely in his own way. Their personalities contrast really well. I didnât like Vercury before because I felt if it actually happened Mercury would just allow Venus to treat him like crap, but now I feel like Mercury would know how to set proper boundaries and they would be equals. In a healthy relationship, there shouldnât be a power imbalance, so with Mercuryâs character development and Venusâ potential to change and be kinder (though not necessarily gentler) power imbalance shouldnât be a problem. Another aspect is the fact that Venus and Mercury are both quite lonely. Earth and Mars are extremely close friends (or more haha), and while Mercury does have the Sun, heâs kind of forced to walk on eggshells in that relationship. Theyâre also neighbor planets, so thereâs that. In all, I definitely agree with the concept of Vercury, but if it should happen, it should be after Venus and Mercury at least began to try and sort everything out. Hereâs some (a bit spicy) doodles as a reward for listening to my rant again :D
As always, Iâm open to other peopleâs opinions- especially on a topic as complex as this one. I just ask that you be respectful. Thank you.

Canonically, among the Turaga MetruâŠ
Vakama and Matau are best friends.
Onewa and Whenua seem the closest to each other, having gotten over a lot of the differences that they had as Toa.
Out of the other Turaga, Nokama is the only one Nuju is close to.
Interestingly, out of these dynamics, only the first one really gets much attention in the fandom. Partly because it was prominently featured in Web of Shadows, and maybe partly because the other two pairs werenât highlighted as much in the narrative (Greg typically put the Toa Metru to work in pairs that had more obvious differences and frequent clashes of personalities). And perhaps itâs also because Matau and Vakama are often shipped together romantically, (sometimes with Nokama in there as well), whereas the other two pairs are seen more as literal sibling relationships.
I think those friendships are pretty fascinating in their own right though. Onewa having a chip on his shoulder and acting like a mean, jealous older brother to Whenua at first, perhaps assuming Onu-Matoran led a more sheltered and privileged life than the Po-Matoran. Whenua deflecting his remarks with sarcasm and forced nonchalance since heâs dealt with bullies before, always bracing himself for the next cutting remark. And Onewa coming to realise their experiences arenât a different as they thought. Stone and Earth are brothers, and they both got the short end of the stick under Dumeâs reign. Whenua trusting Onewa enough to not resist having the Komau used on him as part of an improvised plan, and not being mad about it after the fact. And the two of them developing the sport of Kohlii together as Turaga as a fun way for Matoran to resolve disputes.
Nokama and Nuju starting out seeing each other as respected colleagues and gradually becoming more like siblings as the story progresses. Nokama confiding in Nuju because she knows he trusts her judgement. Nuju giving Nokama a hug to comfort her, and she actually accepts the gesture (in contrast to her reaction to Matau trying the same). The two of them having a friendly sparring match on the boat. The pair watching winter sports together as Turaga. The other Turaga and Matoro deferring to Nokama when Nujuâs being difficult because he will at least listen to her.
Thereâs just some really nice aspects to those underrated friendships. I love them.

it's so tragic funny that while i was watching t100, jroth was so adamant that there was nothing romantic there with bellarke, that it literally made me doubt what was very clearly being written as romantic (and it actually was. like, we know this now. it has been confirmed).
looking back, bellarke could have kissed at so many different points in the show, without changing anything else but having them kiss, and it would have made perfect sense. it would have flowed. it would have aligned with their relationship development.
just think about it. 1x09. unity day. is this a bit early? yes. but do they have the chemistry? yes. and have they had sufficient build up for two characters to have their first kiss? yes. honestly more than a lot of ships that happen in the first season of their show. especially since day trip just happened! plus, the flirting during unity day was...not subtle.
listen...she wanted to kiss him here so bad. seriously though. clarke could have and that would have been a very natural progression of this scene. it would have especially fit the early drop ship days vibe.
(or you could add in a scene where clarke finds him later, now sufficiently buzzed, they flirt some more, then she kisses him, and bellamy's like, "woah, woah, princess, what are you doing?" but he's smiling and she just shrugs with a smile and goes in to kiss him again, saying "having fun", and bellamy says, "you're drunk" and clarke is exasperated saying, "well you told me to!" and bellamy laughs, very amused, and from the look in his eyes, you can tell that he is also very very VERY smitten.)
if you still think that's too soon, yeah, i tend to agree. i love the idea of s1 bellarke in fanfic, but for the show, i prefer a bit more of slowburn. so let's push it to season 2. no, that's not a true slowburn, but still, you had to wait a little for it, and a lot of shows do this successfully. so anyway. 2x05. post iconic reunion hug, shot in a very romantic way i might add.
bellamy is watching clarke sleep by the fire, she wakes, we have some platonic gazing with firelight flickering across their faces...
we all know how the scene goes. he reassures her. he confides in her. she reassures him back.
i'm sorry, but the way they are looking at each other here? dude, if they had been sitting any closer, they could have kissed. i tend to think it would be more in character for clarke to initiate a first kiss with bellamy in s1-4, but in this scene, i 100% could see bellamy going in to kiss her after this.
(and yes, i'm aware that octavia was pretending to be asleep this whole time, but honestly, her reaction to them would have added some much needed levity to the situation. octavia is a bellarke shipper, after all. also, some people might say that this would make clarke's "i love you" to finn less believable, but i disagree. you can have feelings for two people at the same time. i mean, she literally kisses lxa very quickly after finn's death sooo yeah...plus, it would have made the bellarke angst of s2b/3 even better.)
maybe you still want more of a slowburn though, and that is perfectly fair, which brings me to s3, which in my opinion would have been one of the best seasons for canon bellarke. alright. 3x05. hakeldama yup! it was prime time for a first kiss. i mean, all the build up of s1/2 obviously, but also...this had just happened:
but anyway...back to hakeldama. this is the peak of their angst. nothing tops it.
but then, after the heat of the moment, the softness comes in. as it always does with these two. they wind up sharing the softest, most romantic scene in this entire show (fight me).
that last gif, man...at this point, i think they would both go in for the kiss. mutually initiated. god, it would have fit the scene so well!
(some people might say that this would invalidate clarke's love for lxa, considering everything that happens two eps later, but again, i disagree. like i said before, you can have feelings for two people at the same time. people might also say that this would undermine bellamy's relationship with gina, but you know what? the whole fucking narrative undermined that relationship, so i really don't care. i loved gina, but if clarke can kiss lxa right after finn's death, then bellamy can kiss clarke right after gina's death. this show is messy, okay? and bellarke are messy as fuckkkk.)
still think it would be too early? okay. season 4 then. very recently, i realized how easy making bellarke canon in s4 would have been, holyyyy. starting off in 4x03. bellamy is sleeping on the couch and clarke watches him sleep with the softest smile on her face (i'm still crying about this btw). i can't find the right gif, but you all know the smile! then clarke is struggling so bellamy wakes up and is there to support her, making a declaration that has romantic undertones, it just does!
and then clarke lowkey makes a move on him lmao. for real though?? what was this???
i would only change one thing here. he takes a seat beside her first and then puts his hand on her shoulder. so that way they are eye level (aka kissing level).
when she lifts her head off their hands, their faces would be so close. maybe bellamy would tuck a lock of hair behind her ear, not realizing how intimate that kind of thing is until he does it. i could see them kissing here. clarke would initiate. although, i think it would be so much better if it was just an almost kiss. bellamy tells her she should get some sleep right before it happens.
and then in 4x06...
it's actually so funny how she says that and then she's like 'oh no. that sounded like it implied something. i did not mean to imply.'
and bellamy's over here like 'omg she's implying.'
which leads to him literally about to confess. i'm sorry, but there is no other way to interpret....
and of course clarke interrupts, but this is the moment, you guys! this could have been the moment.
right after this, before roan's interruption, there's a pause, and then clarke kisses him. it's a quick one. the kind of kiss where she has both of her hands on his face and he's so stunned by it that his eyebrows raise in surprise and before he can even process that it's happened, she's pulled back and they're looking at each other, a bit in awe, both surprised that she just did that.
then in 4x09, we actually get to see the reunion!! and it's the running kind. just like 2x05. only this time, after they run to each other and hug, bellamy pulls back and takes her face in his hands to examine her for injuries, and once he realizes she's okay, probably after she reassures him and puts a hand on his face, then he kisses her, but they both go in for it (and i cry).
in 4x13, i would change the location of the head and heart scene. somewhere more private...a bedroom (!). so, after this moment:
and bellamy turns away, upset, clarke pulls him back to face her and takes his face in her hands. his eyes are watery. so are hers. she kisses him. one thing leads to another and we get the sex scene we deserved!! then they're lying in bed, cuddling. bellamy's head is on her chest and clarke's playing with his hair. that's when she decides to ruin the moment lmao and continues the head and heart convo with "we've been through a lot together, you and i." i can just see it so well. they would shift so that they're laying on their sides, facing one another. maybe clarke's fingers play with the hair at the nape of his neck now. when she says he has a big heart, her palm rests on his bare chest. when she says he has to use his head too, her fingers of her other hand shift from his neck to his temple. when bellamy says, "i've got you for that," clarke kisses him. their foreheads stay touching for a few breathes, then she pulls back to look at him and says that raven's premonition came true. like...am i crazy or would this have worked so well?? literally the same dialogue but...they're together.
(plus, this could have led to clarke raising bellamy's kid--august--along with madi over those six years they are separated, i'm just saying!)
maybe you still think that season 5 was the ultimate time for bellarke to go canon, and you know what? i honestly might just agree. the set up was there with clarke calling bellamy every day for 2,199 days. the potential was there. madi was the biggest bellarke shipper i swear. she wanted them to be together even more than all of us combined i think. for a bellarke kiss though, you would almost have to drastically change the course of events...unless you go with 5x13 and blecho have broken up earlier in the season. after clarke wakes bellamy from cryo (still crying about this moment, yeah!), i could see them having a moment.
before jordan walks in, maybe clarke helps bellamy out of the pod, and once they're both standing, bellamy would finally make his move. instead of bellamy asking why they're the only ones there, clarke does. bellamy tells her, "we'll figure it out, clarke, but first, i have something i wanna say." maybe he does something soft, like take her hand or brush her hair behind her ear. clarke is staring at him, not quite believing what is happening right now, but deep down, she knows. he tells her, "those six years without you were the worst of my life and i don't wanna waste any more time." clarke is wearing a watery smile, still not quite sure she believes what she's hearing. she tells him, "i radioed you every day you were gone." bellamy's whole face lights up and he tells her, "i know." their foreheads touch. both of his hands are cradling her cheeks, her hands are cradling his wrists. she whispers his name. it's the kind of kiss where the time before the kiss is excruciatingly long, but once they kiss, it becomes much more urgent as they finally give in to all of the feelings. god. would have been ICONIC.
plus, they both looked absolutely gorgeous in this scene. hello???
would have been one hell of an aesthetically pleasing first kiss holyyyy. then jordan interrupts and makes some comment about how his mom and dad were right all along :)
if not season 5 though...moving onto season 6. 6x10 to be exact. i know i've said that other times were the ultimate time for canon bellarke, but this episode is too! or right after it in 6x11. there are two scenarios that i see playing out here. (in both, blecho have broken up previously.)
in the first scenario, it's 6x10. as soon as bellamy saves clarke and she wakes up, instead of going in to hug him, i swear when i was watching it that i really thought she was going in for the kiss. that was the one and only time where i legitimately thought they were about to kiss while watching. it had never made more sense than in that moment. even with all of jroth's attempted brainwashing, my mind was stronger in that moment. it saw it coming. or at least i thought i did lmao. i know they didn't actually kiss.
but listen.
they really should have.
clarke is literally looking at him like this:
come on, man.
i usually say that bellamy should be the one initiating post s4, but in this moment, it would have been clarke.
and if not then, the other scenario is that they hug as usual. clarke gets some rest as usual. but when she wakes up in 6x11 and bellamy is at her side, they are in a separate private tent. they have that same conversation that they do. they argue about clarke risking her life again. but then...
he tells her, "hey, i just got you back." he says it firm but soft. i see bellamy initiating the kiss here, especially since he's almost lost her twice now, but once clarke realizes that this is really happening, that after all this time he wants her just as much as she wants him, she would for sure be the one initiating everything else. she would be sitting in his lap making out with him so fast jfsldkjfaslk and you know what? good for her!! they either just kiss a lot here, laying down on the bed, all tangled up together, and then they're interrupted, or maybe, just for once, they're allowed to be happy, uninterrupted, and they sleep together. either way. natural progression.
that's really the point of this longwinded post. so many times it could have happened. all of them a nature progression of the story that was being told.
then comes season 7...
there are no words.
6x13 left them off in a perfect place...
the set up was literally right there! they should have kissed in 7x01!! they should have lived happily ever after with madi in a seaside cabin situated in a field of gold!!
#so many wasted opportunites for an iconic first kiss i am TELLING YOU#absolutely TRAGIC#bellarke#t100#this has been sitting in my drafts for weeks#just reread it and oof.......#so many feelings#so so many

ă»You had two weddings; one on land and one at sea
ă»One traditional and one the complete opposite
ă»It was mostly Elizabeth's idea. But you would happily follow wherever she went anyway
ă»In saying that, Elizabeth always listens to you and takes your opinion into account.
ă»(Obviously) going on adventures and finding the most glorious objects. I.e., gold, silver, jewels, and other valuable goods.
ă»Your favourite piece of jewellery that you found was a necklace that seemed to be apart of a matching pair.
ă»A marriage with Elizabeth would most definitely involve a life that's full of adventure and excitement.
ă»As a pirate, as well as a resourceful individual, Elizabeth would constantly put both of you in thrilling journeys and perilous situations.
ă»She would never make you accompany her, but she would love if you followed her
ă»Meeting (Captain) Jack Sparrow is one of the things you didn't really think would happen. Elizabeth's stories always seem like they're from another lifetime, which is ridiculous because you've experienced the same amount of danger since meeting Elizabeth.
ă»When you do meet Jack, he meets your expectations and more.
ă»Your wife was very honest about him (because you swore to each other to always tell the truth, no matter how much it may hurt the other).
ă»When you saw Jack in the flesh, he took your hand and kissed the back of it. It ... was on the verge of sleezy you couldn't deny. But he redeemed himself later that day by saving your life (okay well, he was the one to put you in harm's way ... but at least he got you out of it...)
ă»Whenever Jack tries to pull you into his escapades, Elizabeth is always there to shut it down.
"She's mine, Sparrow. Go get your own wife."
"Ohh, wife... I see it. My apologies..."
ă»Elizabeth is a fierce partner. She will always stand by your side, ready to support you and protect you no matter what.
ă»Even though Elizabeth does love being around you, she is a free spirit. The adventures she goes on, she asks if you want to come along but never makes you.
ă»Living/being married to Elizabeth, is unconventional... and that is putting it mildly. Your home is a grand ship. Cosy, in the Captain's quarters, which overlook the sea behind the boat through big glass windows.
ă»As her partner, you would likely find yourself breaking free from the constraints of conventional life and embracing a more adventurous and unconventional lifestyle.
ă»Elizabeth's love and loyalty are unwavering.
ă»Once Elizabeth says she loves you - that's it, she truly loves you. There's nothing in this world or the next, that could separate you two.
ă»She would move heaven and earth to find you
ă»Go to the most influential people and bargain with her soul to get you back.

ă»Elizabeth likes all sorts of sex, and although she hasn't been with many people at all, she is quite kinky.
ă»Leaving bite marks, hickies on your breasts and thighs; having you lick her finger at the dinner table when she's got something on it (when you're alone obviously)
ă»She's a soft lover, gentle; touching you with so much love.
ă»Foreplay is very important; she loves grinding against you. Licking your skin - she feels like she needs to bind your soul with hers.
ă»The most sex you have is after a raid, or when something dangerous has occured. Almost losing you puts her in panic mode, and when she knows your safe; that hot determination doesn't erase so quickly.
ă»She needs to feel you; to touch you, caress, lick, bite and suck.

CapĂtulo 2 & 3
- Mafin rewatch (Sueños de Libertad)
Watching the de la Reina siblings is a hoot. It's all so deliciously dysfunctional. Damian's three porcelain dolls, all dressed up and filled with generational trauma. How could that not be fun to watch?! I enjoy that Marta is the action oriented one of them. The boys bicker, but she refuses to play their game, instead tries for a solution and an action forward. Itâs notable that both brothers turn to her as if her agreement, her word actually holds sway. Theyâre already making a point of this being a manâs world, but these men, even if itâs a means to play out each other, hang on her word and give it weight.
Iâm kind of sad JesĂșs is such a right villain, because I enjoy him and Marta together. They play off each other well and you instantly get the nuances between them, making it super easy to envision how things were before AndrĂ©s return. The way theyâve kept that business afloat, probably stood side by side against their father on a number of occasions. I feel like theyâve kept each other alert, maybe a bit too guarded, but also with a sense of mutual respect despite all of the other muddled feelings of jealousy and resentment and old-fashioned sibling rivalry. In a world where JesĂșs wasn't such an evil man I think this could have been one of my favourite relationships on the show, if they'd taken the time to develop it more. Especially in the way she yields to him in the beginning and how her character growth comes into play later on.
Carmen is the boss you want to have before sheâs even anyoneâs boss. The way she is straightforward and stands up to Marta for her own and her fellow workers sake and safety. I wish she was my workplace Union rep. Sheâs such a competent lady and I'd gladly line up behind. But why throw fucking caveman Tasio around her neck like a noose Iâll never understand. Though Iâm getting ahead of myself, or ahead of the show at least.
I mean seriously, whatâs up with that opening credit?! Of all the characters, they get a two shot. In bed. The two of them who at this point in time have nothing to tie them together. A flimsy string of connection through fathers, through work. I wasnât here from the start, but I assume they were shipped from day one? Granted by my arguing maybe Gaspar and Tasio should be shipped too, but at least those two aren't in bed together. And no, don't enlighten me if there are people who do ship them. Some things I'd rather go through life without knowing. This would be one of those.
Lol, Luz is so no-nonsense as she saves Damian's life. âStop praying and let me stab him with a giant needle, you rich fools!â. Her and Begona sharing the medical field and a bit of empathy with each other is nice too. An ensemble cast that is balanced between men and women seldom leave room for a lot of female friendship, but this one does. I appreciate that.
Fina establishing from the very beginning what she thinks of men, and especially the fool ones like Carmen's deadbeat boyfriend. I feel you. And I am in love with the way she throughout all the episodes to date will be used as a way of voicing what the tired lesbian feminist in all of us wishes she could say, out loud.
If trolls exist, you know like proper giant ones, the kind that can be mistaken for a mountain, covered in moss and trees and then suddenly just opens its eyes and stands up to stretch. You know the kind of trolls you think of when listening to Grieg's In the Mountain King's Hall - yeah those. I imagine if they existed then they'd sound exactly like a sickly Don Damian, like a melodic stone avalanche. That said Iâve never envision mountain trolls to sound Spanish before now. But maybe thatâs on me.
JoaquĂn is a bit of an ass, calling Fina (and the rest of them) lazy - my eyes are narrowed. It wasnât actually something he developed when he got on my shitlist by flirting with the secretary while having a cute as a button wife or pointing a gun at Marta. Apparently the assery was a pre-existing condition. Itâs interesting though that Luis is the one talking about taking over the company, yet he still comes off as the decent one of them.
âYou donât notice the boys?â- Petra, you blonde little snake, donât call my Fina out like that. Maybe we're allowed to know she's a lesbian, but don't flaunt it in front of the entire canteen like that. Itâs kind of funny though how Fina is so clear about Luis not being her type, yet there are so many common denominators between him and Marta both in personality and in physicality (except of course the most important one in this case, their sex).
I know heâs supposed to be one of the good guys, but honestly, AndrĂ©s is a bit of a douchebag, isnât he?! Or maybe that's a bit harsh, but he comes across as pretty smarmy. He's like what the wall behind your stove would be if anthropomorphised, kind of greasy, kind of sticky and in constant need of being hosed down. But yay for not letting the roof drop on your employees, I guess.
