I saw fanart that depicted an AU where Jason Todd lives off a boat BUT BUT BUT what if Barbara Gordon had been a Marine Biologist? Studying sea life during the day in her lab and wheeling herself around. Free diving in the ocean and sitting at the end of a boat! Always loving the water since her days in high school when she was on the swim team and her dad would watch her matches. I hc that Barbara was in high school when she became disabled. The Oracle Code is a young adult comic that has Barbara being disabled much younger and it was written by a disabled writer.

YES! Marine Biologist Babs, sign me up! So I actually grew up on an old Cabin Cruiser, so a type of houseboat. Being on the water, just makes her happy. Being able to swim in open water, is bittersweet. As it was not an option back in Gotham, as the water was rather toxic. But is also why she got so into marine biology, wanting to keep an eye on ocean life.

I don't think there was ever a doubt in my mind that Shadow didn't care, if he didn't care he would not go to great lengths to trying to get the world he also loves back. He has never been good at communicating his thoughts, hence why he always "broods." Shadow is known for his overthinking, but he has never not cared for others. He cares deeply about sonic, rouge, omega and much more. I like how OP also pointed out this amazing detail, Shadow connects Sonic to his home, his home he desperately doesn't want to lose as he doesn't want to be alone lost and confused of his own purpose all over again. If you really think about it, Sonic and his friends are what made him realize his true self (also Rouge too ofc). Amy begging for him to save the world and help, reminding him of Maria. Or Sonic always surprising him and how at the end when they team up he sees how Sonic is the ultimate lifeform. Rouge ofc being his first friend and them caring for each other as their friendship deepens. All he has left of his fragmented home is holograms and sonic. I can only imagine his spirals, as he sees how it could all fall apart.

you know what's craziest about the new prime trailer and the sonic and shadow bit at the end is that it's so obvious that shadow cares. like there were hints before, when he looked back at the ghost rouge and when he referred to green hill as "our" home, but the fact of the matter is that, right now, sonic and shadow are all that's left of that place. the only survivors. the last two standing, the only proof it ever existed in the first place. and shadow can act cold but that's worth something to him. the desperation in his voice, the way he broke the sound barrier three times in a row... it's more than just sonic he's trying to save, it's shadow's whole world. because if sonic disappears, then what's left? just shadow. only him. and after losing his whole world once (maria and gerald and his home on the ark) i really don't think he'd be able to handle that a second time. so yeah. hang in there, sonic
