I was thinking last night, and for reference, I'm a pretty queer guy.
but I was thinking, I would love to have like a girl/fem best friend. A queerplatonic wife. A platonic girlfriend.
now, I consider myself a gay guy, I've never really been able to figure out how I felt about women or femininity, but I've always loved doing people's makeup and hair and nails. I would love to have somebody to hang out with all the time to just pamper.
I'd paint their nails, do any sort of design they wanted or felt like. I'd fix the paint whenever it chipped and do nail care beforehand. I'd do their hair, curl it or straighten it or braid it in any way I knew how. I'd help them put together outfits and accessories, and match colors for them. I'd send them pictures of everything that reminded me of them in malls and boutiques. I'd keep track of their favorites. We could discuss perfume scents. Palette colors. I'd do their makeup, in bold brights or soft dewy shimmers. We could do skincare together.
I don't want another romantic partner. I love my current one dearly and he's satisfactory in every way, but he's not the type to like these kinds of things too.
I don't want a kid. I intend to be child free for at least most of my life.
but this unique type of relationship would be so neat to have with someone.
I just wish I knew where to look

We live in a world where a brown woman is threatened with death threats, is doxed and constantly harassed by the trans/lgtbq community because she dared to speak up against the white ‘non-binary’ child groomer on Tiktok. This isn’t okay, considering yall are threatening her kids as well! People literally have her kid’s private information - their address, their school etc. The fact that the lgtbq community is not even talking about this??? In fact, yall participated in harassing her and were so quick to call her ‘transphobic’ just because she said Jeffery Marsh’s obsession with kids was creepy. Jeffery Marsh still has a platform, still has thousands of fans supporting them and attacking the women or anyone else who speaks up. How is this not oppression and hate? How is silencing someone who speaks up not oppression? The lgtbq community does this then talks about being oppressed and how they’re not grooming kids? Please make it make sense. I’m disgusted asf rn. I’m all for living your life the way you want and protecting your rights, but in no world is doxing a woman and harassing her and her kids ‘protecting your rights’. This isn’t the first time I’ve seen the community being intolerant or creepy - numerous instances of people yelling on streets, a drag queen showing her naked ass to a kid and people cheering her on, a little girl intimating a stripper and collecting money and being cheered, a school that preached gender fluidity attacking a mother and refusing to show her the school’s syllabus, Jeffery Marsh preaching the isolation of kids and telling them to pay to ‘talk to him privately’ without anyone knowing. This is borderline creepy and grooming behavior and all the time that I’ve been in this community, no one ever mentions this. No one talks about the creepy aspect and people in this community. Yall love calling the conservatives oppressive and names but honestly yall are no better. Protecting a groomer and calling anyone who speaks against them ‘transphobic’. Yall may never realize this but you people are just as oppressive, just as intolerant because you can’t handle people calling u out and because you do not allow them to speak up. At the end of the day, a lot of the ideologies and behaviors of the lgtbq community are rooted so deep in colonization and patriarchy that we do not talk enough about it.

So this term: 兄弟 abour sworn brothers, is used for gay relationships in all of the ways? Or is it also used for familiar and platonic relationships?
It is not used solely for romantic relationships at all! It is very much used for plastic and strong friendships that could be 'close as brothers.' A good English substitute is like 'brother-in-arms.' I can't say I've seen it used in familial as usually one just consider them a brother or call them brother already if they are related by blood.
But it has been used in some context for something other than platonic and other is some history about the use of this word in the past. In Book of Song, Five Elements 《宋书·五行志》 by Liu Liming talks mostly about records of daily life at the time but there is also a note about how the relations between men and by today's standards these intimate acts would not be considered platonic so to speak. Usually, in these cases, intimacy between individuals was found to be between 契兄弟 as a form of trust and to create a bond between them. There is also Wanli Ye was Compiled 《万历野获编》 which are notes of Ming Dynasty, 30 volumes, 4 volumes of addenda and written by Shen Defu. This one in particular does use 契兄弟 when describing men who perform more intimate acts with one another, particularly comparing them to a married man and a wife. This isn't to mean that it was seen as marriage but just that it was comparable and acknowledged.
I think that between the rise of Queer history, especially how the internet has transformed historical research as well, a lot of this information is becoming more widespread. I am not a historian these are just things I have read about myself but from what I can tell 兄弟 is a very wide umbrella that is meant to show the close bond between two people, to treat them in as high regard as any bond. It doesn't mean romantic within itself but it doesn't exclude more intimacy either. But when it comes to Chinese history over the subject there are a lot of documented accounts of intimate relationships between men. I would recommend trying to look more into it yourself if you are interested but it's always exciting to learn more about the historical background of different meanings and terms.
