I remember when the internet and social media first gained traction(think early to mid 2000’s and MySpace) and everyone was always giving safety tips to not give personal information out. We even had seminars in school and now those same assholes are telling you to upload government ID to access things. Which they surely won’t use for nefarious purposes. Surely.
#uk politics#seriously#it's bad enough to share your data with companies#but not american companies for gods sake or **** for that matter#if your data is not being held in your country it goes from one red flag to four#unless you already in live in one of the countries that already give no shit about your data#in that case you're already in five red flag land and need a vpn like air

i think porn should be more regulated on the internet in an "i want to make sure sex workers are being properly paid for their work and aren't being exploited" way and not a "teenagers will combust into flames at the sight of porn" way

Like it's 2025, at this point we should just be able to put all major decisions to the people for a vote, present the pros and cons, worst and best case scenarios. Any rich people trying to influence voting get to wear the helmet cage with hungry rats inside.
I know I know, 'A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals and you know it', but *gestures vaguely at the government*
Sure actual management will always need to go to officials, and the people will not always have enough knowledge to understand all subjects but major decisions like the online safety act? Yeah.
I should be able to push a button right now to ask for a closer relationship with the EU and chose from options what I'd want that relationship to be, how would it look, what would we want and concede. Then if the majority in Britain wins, that proposal is put to the citizens of the EU and they get to say yay or nay, even to the point of a counteroffer.

ReformUK is a party of terrorist white supremacists
significant members of ReformUK have recently defended terrorists, who firebombed the homes of immigrants and minorities, and expressed outright support for people who have called for migrants to be burned alive, this support is tantamount to complicity, especially as members of a minor political party
anyone who votes for ReformUK is complicit in the encouragement of terrorism
#uk politics#which is why we need to vote against them#idagf if we all agree to vote monster raving loony party against them as long as it's against them#i will grit my teeth and vote#politics

Also why am I seeing certain types of gamers surprised that feminists are also against the Online Safety Act. Y'all don't understand what a feminist is or that we are massively varied in opnions and attitudes.
Not to mention *looks at gaming consoles and online memberships* the call is coming from inside the house bitch
#gamers#feminism#i don't wanna besmirch the name of guy gamers though#i'd enjoyed many a male nerds company and in some cases ****

its honestly amazing that labour has managed to somehow put me on the same side of an issue (my belief that the Online Safety Act is shit) as Nigel fucking Farage
literally created a "worst person you know made a valid point" situation with someone whom i never thought that could ever apply to
i still think Farage is a fucking cunt, but somehow, they've forced me to agree with him on something
#exactly what i've been thinking#how dare you make me agree with farage#worse#i've seen people regret voting labour and wish they'd just let tories get in and now just want to stop voting???#bitch i know you're tired but keep going#have a look at 'your party'#we need an opposition to reform#the odds of reform getting in keep going up and i don't want my neighbours or my friends being f*cking lynched#politics for ts#british politics
