One of my closest friends I aroace, and he's talked to me about the experience of being made to feel like he's missing out on something or getting left behind in a way when his loved ones enter romantic relationships. But it really hit home for me how much he deals with and expects this recently when I started dating someone new after being single for a few months and I wanted to share.
During the months I was single, we got a lot closer and we both relied on each other more to have our needs for love fulfilled. For example, we both have physical touch as a primary love language, so we did a lot of platonic physical affection and cuddling. We became main supports in each other's lives even more than before. But the day I told my friend about my new partner and my friend met him, he seemed to kind of instantly back off a bit. He and my partner get along really, really well too. He mentioned that he didnt expect my partner and I to make the hour drive to visit him as often because "it's not like the nature of y'alls relationship". I'm having difficulty explaining, but it was apparent that my friend expected to be taking a back seat to this new relationship in my life despite the fact that I know my friend way better and that broke my heart a bit. I immediately thought, how many times has he had to deal with that? How many beloved friends has he lost to this situation? That must be so horrible to go through! I still very much consider him one of my closest supports and while I know it would never be a necessary choice I would absolutely choose him over a partner I haven't had nearly as much time with. I really want to find a way to tell him that he isn't any less of a priority to me just because I'm not single anymore and I think it's important for us alloromantics to remind our aro and aroace friends of things like that. It's even more important to stick to that statement and show them we mean it.
My aroace friends, you deserve people in your life that prioritize you and engage in the kinds of intimacy you need. You deserve just as much closeness and love as anyone else and you will find it if thats what you want. You don't deserve being put on the back burner when your loved ones get into new romantic relationships and it's really shitty that so many people do that.

Now of course we all need to celebrate and take a day or two to breathe a collective sigh of releif. I know I am. I’ve been fighting this godforsaken bill alongside a mutual of mine on tiktok since this thing first crawled out of hell back in 2022.
However there are still internet censorship bills out there looking to get through individual state governments that y’all should keep an eye on. And there’s always a chance that Marsha Blackburn will try to reintroduce the bill under a different name or something in the next legislative cycle but at least we have a long while until then. And that’s IF it happens. We still must continue to fight these fascist censorship bills and keep the internet a haven of free speech as it was intended to be.
And if you live in Tennessee and are able to, Marsha Blackburn is up for re-election this year. So if we can get her voted out, then Kosa REALLY can’t come back!
Lastly, I wanna thank every single one of you that blew up my posts and spread the word. On every other social media platform I have, when I spoke up about this, I was largely ignored or it just did not reach enough people. Tumblr is the only place my voice reached people about this. All of you showed up and showed out and fought like hell. Thank you for your help. And thank you for listening to me.

Here's your daily reminder that TERF rhetoric and propaganda encourages policing the body and actions of ALL WOMEN including non-trans women who are:
-POC (because society pushes a white = feminine narrative)
-wlw
-tall
- poor/middle class
- born with features deemed too masculine like noticeable veins, large hands, etc.
- butch lesbians
- like video games, horror or hobbies society says are for boys
- have short hair
- cancer patients (who happen to have no hair) or recovering cancer patients whose hair is very short
- recovering cancer patients who had to have their breasts removed
- child-free women
- women who wish to but can't have children
- women who want/need to get an abortion
- women who've had their uterus removed or need to get it removed for their health
- survivors of domestic violence
- women who are atheists or non-religious
- rape victims
- children
- athletic women/minors
- elderly and are in the process of having their femininity stripped from them
- exploring who they are
- and more!
Anti-trans rhetoric encourages the policing of bodies and ALL WOMEN regardless of status receive the fall out because the policing of trans bodies = the policing of women!
The only ones that benefit are the very misogynistic white men who uphold the patriarchy because anti-trans rhetoric is eugenics!

I have a full size pride flag on the back of my truck
Like a Trump supporter only more accepting. And cis-hets HATE it. Y'know the kind of people who would have a Trump 2020 or Confederate flag on theirs. But I guess they don't like when we're loud about our beliefs like them.
Anyways, today a straight white male popped a U-turn when he saw my flag, just to follow me to the next light so he could flip me off.
I have him the gayest heart symbol in return. I wonder what upsets him so much about letting a group of people that will never hurt him? Maybe he's afraid I'll turn him gay?
Well he doesn't have to worry cuz hate isn't my type. He's gonna have a long, awkward pride month cuz he's not comfortable with his sexuality. But I hope y'all's is amazing!
Btw I keep my flag up year 'round, not just for pride month, cuz our rights are at stake every day. Especially now with DeSantis running for president.

I love drag because the binary has no place there. Anyone can do drag in any way they want. Trans men can be drag kings, trans women can be drag queens, vice versa, and anyone can be anywhere in between because once you're on that stage all anyone cares about is that you're rockin it in your own way. If my cis friend I brought along to the show asks what that performer's gender is, the only correct answer is "who fucking cares? They're just hot".
The drag community has so much body positivity in it too. I get to see people who are heavy and have rolls like me get cheered on and swooned over and shove dollar bills from the audience into their lingerie and it's so cathartic because I always got told that people who look like me can't be sexy.
Go support your local drag shows and maybe do drag yourself because it's the most beautiful event on earth.

***TW ACEPHOBIA*** TW HOMOPHOBIA *** TW TRANSPHOBIA***
For all the people that always try to debate Yasmin on Twitter, saying: "Why do aces need rights? No one is attacking you, no one cares that you're asexual"
Well, this is just a fraction of the hate we received on Facebook after publicizing our Tr(ace)y project last May:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
People seem to care a lot!
Until we can post freely and unapologetically about being ace and get a much bigger ratio of support than hate, we will always keep doing the work. If this is what our project received, I can't even imagine what Yasmin gets in a day. Shoutout to the most badass ace queen ever. Always reminding us to block out the haters!
Promoting education, understanding & compassion always! 💜

Barricade day, in pride month, seems the perfect time to show off the art project I made when I graduated high school.
The project was to make a mortarboar that represented who we were.
Never been more proud! 🏳️‍⚧️
