Torres takes crucial pole for penultimate showdown
The Championship leader heads Casadei on the grid, with Ferrari sixth as yellow flags interrupt the shootout for pole in Barcelona. Jordi Torres (Openbank Aspar Team) found exactly what he needed in FIM Enel MotoE™ World Championship qualifying in Barcelona, taking pole for the penultimate round and turning the tables on closest challenger Mattia Casadei (HP Pons Los40) after the Italian topped practice. Andrea Mantovani (RNF MotoE™ Team) completes the front row, with Matteo Ferrari (Felo Gresini MotoE™) – currently one point behind Casadei – set to start sixth.
Yellow Flags out following a crash for Eric Granado (LCR E-Team) played a key role in Q2. The Brazilian found himself in Q1 after a crash in practice but comfortably topped the session to move through into the fight for pole. As he headed out of pitlane at the start of Q2 though, he suffered a strange crash at low speed that still flipped him over the highside. Rider a little winded but ok, but out of that fight for pole – and the Yellow Flags meant no one else could improve for some time either. Torres, who had hit early to take to the top, remained unchallenged even after the track was clear, with no one able to make any big improvements in the final couple of minutes. Still, Casadei is within a tenth, making it the top two in the standings ready to start top two on the grid. Mantovani alongside them will be looking to get in their way.
Kevin Zannoni (Ongetta SIC58 Squadra Corse) came through Q1 just behind Granado and heads Row 2, ahead of previous MotoE™ Barcelona winner Miquel Pons (LCR E-Team). Ferrari completes that second row, looking to move forward once the lights go out. The same is true of Granado as the Brazilian was left a frustrating P10 on the grid due to that early incident, despite his Q1 lap being two thousandths off front row speed. So that’s the grid(s)! On a super Saturday for MotoE™, Torres could clinch the crown. But with 15 points in hand it’s a long shot, and Casadei is perfectly position to try and cut that gap. Can he – and Ferrari – keep gaining ground?

#notizie #news #breakingnews #cronaca #politica #eventi #sport #moda Read the full article

I hope none of you got mad at me waiting so long to post this. I'm still mourning Eric's championship and having Aegerter as the 2022 MotoE™ World Cup winner.
Officially, there's no rookie of the year for MotoE, but the fight is still on for Escrig and Manfredi. There isn't officially a team's championship either, but this one would have gone to the LCR E-team, but hats off to Aegerter's team because with only 1 bike they are only 77.5 points down.

MotoE™: Garzo fastest, Casadei wins race simulation as testing concludes. Three days of testing for the FIM Enel MotoE™ World Championship see some familiar names take to the top. There's one month to go until the 2024 FIM Enel MotoE™ World Championship begins at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve in March, and the very same venue hosted the three-day pre-season test for the electric Championship. The gaps look as close as ever and some familiar names took to the top in testing, teasing another close season of competition on this parallel path of sustainable innovation. 2023 race winner Hector Garzo (Dynavolt Intact GP MotoE™) tops the overall timesheets with a 1:46.916 from Day 2, ahead of Nicolas Spinelli (Tech3 E-Racing) and 2019 Cup winner Matteo Ferrari (Felo Gresini MotoE™), both also setting their best efforts on Thursday. Reigning World Champion Mattia Casadei, now with LCR E-Team, took some bragging rights as he won the seven-lap race simulation on Day 3 though, finishing ahead of now-teammate Eric Granado and Ongetta SIC58 Squadra Corse's Kevin Manfredi. There, Garzo and Spinelli both slid out, the latter after leading for much of the race as some hurdles befell a number of competitors. But back to the start. Day 1 saw the field focused on getting up to speed with the machinery and track – or both, for a number of returning or rookie competitors – as Portimão gets ready to debut on the electric calendar this season. Wednesday was the only fully dry outing too, leaving some looking to make more of an impression once the final test sessions take place on the Thursday just ahead of the season-opening Portuguese GP. Day 2 was the timesheet topper despite some damp tracktime, and Day 3 saw the race sim begin in the wet before the sun came out. So, completing the overall top four behind Garzo, Spinelli, and Ferrari's best laps from Day 2 comes a 1:47.231 set by Casadei on Day 3, ahead of an impressive full-time debut for Oscar Gutierrez (Axxis-MSI) in P5 overall, just thousandths behind the reigning Champion. Alessandro Zaccone (Tech3 E-Racing) is next up, pipping Granado, with Kevin Zannoni (Openbank Aspar Team), the returning Lukas Tulovic (Dynavolt Intact GP MotoE™) and Miquel Pons (Axxis-MSI) completing the top ten. Two-time Cup winner Jordi Torres (Openbank Aspar Team) is missing from that list, but he was only hundredths off Pons as the top ten is covered by only just over half a second. He'll be one of those looking for more next time out in that last Thursday test before the first race weekend begins, but the times are already tight and there are 16 races ahead worth 25 points each. So join us for the season opener at the Grande Prémio Tissot de Portugal as another incredible season of competition begins! MotoE - #ItalianGP - Ferrari takes lap record pole ahead of Casadei, Krummenacher third as Granado demoted to fourth
Matteo Ferrari (Felo Gresini MotoE™) kept the roll going on home turf at Mugello, making it back-to-back poles with a new lap record of a 1:55.752. It was an Italian one-two at the Gran Premio d’Italia Oakley too as Mattia Casadei (HP Pons Los40) snatched second, with Eric Granado (LCR E-Team) back in action and straight back on the front row… initially. The fairytale bubble was slightly burst…
