Week 4 Review:
DAL-NYG (✅): Woah, who told me Flag Day would come three months late?
NO-ATL (❌): Guess this Carr is still barely more reliable than the Spire #7!
LAR-CHI (❌):
MIN-GB (✅): Minnesota's starting to look like a very pleasant surprise, but is that fourth quarter a preview to playoff pain or anything like that?
PIT-IND (✅): Wow I'm shocked, they fell back down to Earth!
DEN-NYJ (❌): The phrase "Ugly with a capital U" exists for a reason, folks!
PHI-TB (✅): As far as Super Bowl-losing coaches go, Nick Sirianni is well on his way to making Jeff Fisher look like Bud Grant!
CIN-CAR (✅): Hell yeah, we beat a team that was on 0-17 watch a couple weeks ago! Look out, New Orleans! Super Bowl, here we come! (King Henry's gonna slaughter that """defense""", isn't he?)
JAC-HOU (✅): At least the 2020 Jags had won a game by this point and weren't hyped by Khan as the best Jaguars team ever!
WAS-ARI (✅): I'm begging you, Washington! Even if you're in position to win the division, semi-tank so that Jayden doesn't have to worry about getting RGIII-ed at "home".
NE-SF (✅): This is like "coughing baby vs. hydrogen bomb" if the hydrogen bomb were also coughing.
CLE-LV (✅): Deshawn Washedson's Browns being a shitty team. A true national victory! (Also why is nobody talking about Stefanski's idiotic final timeout?)
KC-LAC (✅): What? The Chargers Charger'ed against KC? I'm so shocked, I forgot to gasp!
BUF-BAL (❌❌❌❌❌): Well, that certainly didn't go the way I expected!
TEN-MIA (❌): And you thought New York was Ugly!
SEA-DET (✅): Detroit went from way better defensively to way better offensively. Okay then!
2024 Week 4 Predictions: 11/16
2024 Predictions so far: 39/64 (.609)
Tumblr media
DAL-NYG (TNF): Cowboys (I called it before the game, trust me bro!)
NO-ATL: Saints
LAR-CHI: Rams
MIN-GB: Vikings
PIT-IND: Colts (PLEASE)
DEN-NYJ: Jets
PHI-TB: Buccaneers
CIN-CAR: Bengals (but like... so narrowly it defies logic. It certainly won't be with help from our sorry-ass excuse for a """defense""", that's for damn sure!)
JAC-HOU: Texans
WAS-ARI: Commanders
NE-SF: 49ers
CLE-LV: Raiders
KC-LAC: Chiefs
BUF-BAL (SNF): Bills
TEN-MIA (MNF A): Dolphins
SEA-DET (MNF B): Lions

Quote
Best of... It's a new year. There are plenty of things about last year that were forgettable. I really hope the worst is behind us. Some resolutions: live below my means, invest!!! (in the market, in my health, and in my mental wellbeing), enjoy the kids (they will be gone before you know it), and lastly... never stop learning. This is week 17: JAX/IND: Colts smash. If all the favorites win, Colts are still out. GB/CHI: Cheese to cover. Big Mitchie plays for his career. Over? DAL/NYG: Cowboys to win. They are the best of the worst and still might not make it. Under is the play. PIT/CLE: Steelers to cover. Browns have the VID. MRudolph revenge? Also playing for his career. TEN/HOU: Titans smash. Texans spent it all LW and lost to Cincy.  NO/CAR: Saints to win. I could see a kitty backdoor cover. NYJ/NE: Jets to win. The smart man would pass on this, the bettor likes +180. MIN/DET: Vikes to win. Lions are already done. ATL/TB: Bucs to win. Falcons D to keep Brady in till the 3rd quarter. BAL/CIN: Ravens take care of business vs "Paper Tigers". MIA/BUF: Bills to win. But don't need it. Might be resting. Under is preferred.  LAC/KC: Champs will rest, but still win. Pass. SEA/SF: Seattle to win. I feel like the number is inflated. Niners cover 7. LV/DEN: Donkeys to win. Vegas has no motivation at all here. AZ/LAR: Cards to win. Goff to sit. CAkers to "Try". WAS/PHI: WAS to win. Smith to start. Godert and Sanders to sit. Under is worth a look here. Best movie goes to Greyhound. Best movie based on a comic goes to The New Mutants. I have not seen Wonder Woman. Best shows: Star Trek: Discovery, and The Wilds. Best stocks: TSLA, and ZM. Best book I read was called "Your Money or Your Life" by J Dominguez, MTifford, and VRobin. Best Jam was Up All Night by Khalid. Hopeyalikedit.

Welp, this took forever. Sorry my bad.
WAS-PHI (n): I'd mock you for potentially blowing a division title to Nick Sirihani, but considering your home field, semi-tanking for a wild card berth may be a blessing in disguise!
GB-CHI (Y): Oh my gosh. They may actually waste him. This is just unbelievable.
JAC-DET (Y): If any NFL game this season embodies "coughing baby vs. hydrogen bomb", then it is this one.
LV-MIA (Y): Glad to see the Dolphins are turning it around to get back to the playoffs and continue their Marvin Lewis-ass journey to lose as many Wild Card games as possible.
LAR-NE (Y): Who would have guessed that we'd see the day that New England's system actually failed their quarterback miserably?
CLE-NO (n): The Saints really are going to eek out enough wins when the season's already out of reach to trick themselves into thinking they're still relevant, aren't they?
BAL-PIT (n): We really are in the worst timeline, aren't we?
MIN-TEN (Y): This Vikings team looks a bit uncomfortable, but at least they've got some teams ahead of them seeing more ghosts than their QB did a few years ago.
IND-NYJ (n): Aaron Rodgers would be the kind of pilot who makes the guys on Airplane! look like unironic professionals by comparison. ("Ro(d)ger(s), Ro(d)ger(s)!" "What?")
ATL-DEN (n): Well, so much for the jokes of Bo Nix throwing with Bo Peep's broken arm. They were fun while they lasted at least! (Also the Falcons aren't really gonna Atlanta this division, right? Please!)
SEA-SF (n): In one of the most fun Chaos Divisions in recent memory, of course the Niners are the team going through the most painful chaos!
KC-BUF (Y): Cool that you're keeping the regular season domination going and letting a handful of 78-year-old men pop champagne again. Now back it up in January!
CIN-LAC (Y): At this rate, if I ever play Dark Souls, I'm muting it as soon as I hear that cursed-ass song.
HOU-DAL (Y): Jerry Jones fuming about his crummy team while his stadium that's barely older than Angry Birds is already falling apart. You love to see it! (Well okay, I don't actually like seeing giant metal fall onto football fields where it can hurt people, but you get the idea.)

During the week
After the Houston game in week 10, lip readers claimed there was video of the Houston coach bad mouthing Vance Joseph before halftime. This would have ballooned into a meme fest, but the bye week killed the meme enthusiasm.
The Broncos didn’t get any credit for almost winning the game. The local media just stuck with their 2018 message, fire Vance. The Broncos listened to the media on two occasions that I can remember. They acquired Jake the Snake after the voice of the Avalanche started a campaign to bring him to Denver. During the Josh days, a billboard helped persuade the Broncos to start Tim Tebow. The media didn’t trade Cutler, but they were very happy when he left town.
Von Miller was all over the media helping out the community. Why do I bring this up? There’s speculation that if the Broncos fire Vance, they’re going to openly rebuild and Von’s contract is huge. The business people see his contract as an obstacle to rebuilding. The bad news for the business people is that the Von and Chubb combo is starting to pay dividends.
News leaked that teams are interested in hiring Gary Kubiak as head coach. Who cares? If Vance doesn’t make it through the season, some have speculated the interim coach would be Gary. As it stands, his office is only three doors down the hallway from Vance’s office.
The Afc West
Lets look at the AFC west. Although the Broncos are vastly improved over last year, they’re not a threat to win the division this year, so I haven’t spent a lot of time reviewing the division.

*They have converted 3 two-point conversions.
The game
It’s an away game. Everyone knows what that means. The Broncos have only won one game on the road this year (WP 25%). The Chargers have won 80% of their home games this season.
Game time
Sunday afternoon 2:05pm MT
Outlook
The Broncos are playing well enough for me to revise my season prediction. My revised predictions.
Week Team Outcome WP% 11 Lac Loss 78% 12 Pit Loss 67% 13 Cin Win/Loss 44% 14 SF Win 20% 15 Cle Win 30% 16 Oak Win 11% 17 Lac Loss 78%
That puts the Broncos at 6-10 or 7-9 depending on the Bengal game. It should also be noted that the Broncos have a winning record against teams with a WP of 50 or below. Which makes a strong case for the 7-9 final record.
With the Broncos experiencing no blowouts this season and just one embarrassing game (the jets), I could see Vance getting an extension this off-season to the horror of many in the local media.

Fantasy Football Week 3 Predictions
Tumblr media
Whenever you are 2-0, 1-1, or 0-2 here are some people that you should start/sit.
Injuries continue to mount for fantasy owners, with Justin Herbert (ribs), Jerry Jeudy (ribs), Dalton Schultz (knee), Damien Harris (knee), and James Conner (ankle) joining the likes of JK Dobbins (knee), Keenan Allen (hamstring), Alvin Kamara (ribs), Gabriel Davis (ankle), George Kittle (groin), Chris Godwin (calf), and Michael Pittman (quad) on the injury report. Mike Evans also went and got himself suspended, so plenty of fantasy squads will be shorthanded. Chances are, more players will pop up on the injury report as the week goes on, so you never know how deep you'll have to go to fill out your starting lineup.
