leah had twins after retiring after two rounds of ivf using alessia's egg and jacob's sperm. fraternal twins, one boy and one girl (haven't decided the age gap between them and emy yet but minimum five or six years). emy is the only sibling that plays football. baby boy goes into music and baby girl is influenced by her gran (leah's mum) and ends up in netball (leah and alessia are still the most intense and supportive sideline coaches for her)

alessia plays for a little longer than leah but in more of a midfield role (10 or CAM) instead of a striker (captaining arsenal and england) and the twins get to see her play and be her mascot before she retires but they are too young to remember. for her retirement match at arsenal she walks out with all three as her mascot and everyone is impressed at her ability to carry two kids on each hip and hold the hand of a third and carry the little flag-thingy that they have to swap

What’s happened to Scotty? Has Virg broken the door or just his shoulder? Has John eaten his own arm in despair? Has EOS accidentally overthrown the government of a medium sized country in her anxiety?

None of these questions will be answered here, as I leave the Tracys within the tender loving care of @sofasurf and her alligators and we quickly check in with somebody else…

One of the best things about Bez was his relentless enthusiasm about something as simple as her unlocking the front door. She smiled as he treated her to an impromptu drool bath and gradually nudged him down the hallway so she could put down her bags.

“You’ll never guess who I met today, Niebieski… the Commander of International Rescue! … Yes, he did seem nice… No, he didn’t have any treats…Yes it’s possible to be nice and not have treats, you daft creature… You don’t believe me do you?”

Extracting herself she reached up and fetched one of his favourite chews from the top cupboard.

“Give me a minute to get changed, Bez, then we’ll go for a run, ok?”

Receiving only chomping noises by way of reply, she left him to it and went to sort herself out. Grabbing her phone to check the time, it unlocked on the new contact screen and she smiled. He’d given her his personal number, just in case, but had been endearingly awkward as he’d asked her to save it under a pseudonym. Something to do with his brother John, someone called Kyra and security protocols, he was sorry it was such a weird thing to ask. She didn’t mind, she knew exactly what to name to save the number under.

She tapped the word ‘Blue’ and sent a quick message as he’d asked, given he’d not had his own with him.

“Was good to meet you today. Here is my number. I hope you’re doing ok? Estera”

Right. Job done. Next on the list: exercise.

The wind was bitter as the sun slipped below the horizon and stained the clouds behind which it had been skulking most of the afternoon.

The plus side was it meant nobody else was out this far. They’d have the less well known Jacob’s Ladder beach to themselves while the rest of the dog walkers did a quick circuit of the main seafront. Bez, well insulated from the frigid air, lolloped excitedly down the steep path ahead and she ambled behind, limbs trembling slightly in the aftermath of their clifftop run. The exertion had helped focus her mind, as it always did, while she was actually running. But as soon as she allowed her heart rate to slow, the swirling thoughts returned.

The tide was right out, and it seemed every sea bird in the Westcountry had gathered to scour the shoreline for treats, their figures dark against the reddening sky and their fading shadows reaching many times their height across the sand towards her.

As expected, there were no other dogs on the beach - she unclipped the leash and let Bez hare towards the ocean, driving the gulls into the air in a squawking cloud, the combined sound of their wings like a drum roll in the distance. Usually his unbridled joy would be catching, but today she felt kind of detached, as if she was watching him frolic in a poor quality recording on a broken screen.

The shadows lengthened further.

Suddenly unable to contain all of the Everything building up inside, she let out a yelp and ran across the top of the beach towards the sunset. For a given value of running anyway. The pebbles sucked her legs downwards with every step, her feet slipping and twisting on the uneven surface. The wind whipped across the bay and blasted into her face, hair streaming and coat billowing behind her like a sail. Despite forcing her last scraps of pent up energy into her muscles she made barely any progress and eventually stumbled forwards, landing with a crunch amongst the stones.

She pushed herself on to her knees and paused, dizzy but aware of Bez sprinting back towards her, droplets of seawater flying from his fur.

Then he was there, shoving his soaking wet face into hers, blending the salt of the sea with the salt of her shame.

She’d left him.

The initial delight that he’d survived, that he hadn’t been stabbed to death in the square as she’d imagined was overshadowed by what she now knew his attempt to rescue her had cost him. The stories of the nearby camp were rife in the town. The open secret of the mass grave to the east of it. The horrors inside. Some said it was simple torture. Others had heard from someone who knew someone who had heard tell of twisted medical experiments. People said that when the wind was right, you could hear the desperate screams on the road, over a mile away. Nobody knew the truth of it because nobody came out.

People didn’t survive the camp.

And then there were the dogs. The constant barking as they patrolled the town, barely under the control of the thugs who held the leash. There were dogs at the camp too, she knew that. She recalled watching, helpless, from her window as her neighbour was dragged from his house by the snarling beasts. If he’d even made it to the camp alive, it wouldn’t have been long for him.

People didn’t survive the camp.

Somehow Scott had. She couldn’t quite believe it. It clearly hadn’t left him unscathed though. She covered her face and tried to picture the twinkle in his eyes as he had teased her about the toy in her pocket. The eyes of somebody who was alive and knew laughter. But she couldn’t find them. Instead she saw his wide, frightened eyes watching unknown horrors unfold behind her, in a reality only he could see.

She clenched her fists and yelled her apology to the sky, before pulling her knees to her head and wrapping her arms around her legs as she sobbed. “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry.”

Bez, damp yet radiating warmth, lay against her back and waited.

here's one of my favorite sims, kyra :P

she's reeeally awkward. During game tournaments she usually barely uses vc, she used to crack some atrociously unfunny jokes, and she was humbled each and every time... The only two people who are truly comfortable with and are used to her awkwardness and her inability to pick up on social cues are her best friends Salem and Benson, and her sister, Lea. They consider themselves as the best trio ever and Salem loves her dry, corny jokes.

Oswald (its a rlly goofy name im sorry) is the landlord of where lea and kyra live. Before her grandparents passed, she would visit them in Copperdale with her dad. He they weren't close but she had interacted with him pretty frequently since he lived on the bottom floor and was friends with her grandparents. After running away with her sister, Oswald accepted them with open arms, and they would often celebrate holidays together. He gave them the upstairs apartment where their grandparents used to live in, and although it's in poor condition, she considers it home than just a place to stay.

Kyra's childhood was really confusing and messy because of her mom's erratic behavior and her father's passive demeanor. Even though her mother is family oriented, her narcissism and struggle with regulating her emotions, has strained Kyra's relationship with Kyra. In one of her mother's fits of rage, years of pent up rage and frustration lead Kyra to gather everything she could, along with Lea, and run away. Since then, Kyra has been doing her best to protect Lea from the painful past. Lea doesn't remember much, but she has a sense of longing for her mother. Once in a blue moon, their father, torn btwn his his inability to confront his wife's destructive behavior and loyalty to his kids, comes to visit and provides them with clothes or leftover food, but he's the only one who knows where they are, being the only shackle to the life they left behind.

Kyra currently works at a local coffee shop, also taking a few odd jobs here and there to make a quick buck. Her coworkers are Lou Howell and Vanesha Cahyaputri. Her and jacob don't really get along too. everytime they're on a shift together he's never on the register to make sure he doesn't steal any money. He likes to poke fun at her whenever he's bored because of her slow, and pretty pathetic (😭) comebacks. She's on good term's with Vanesha due to the fact they both have immigrant parents where they'll share stories they laugh/gossip about together during their lunch break.

Kyra's also saving up to major in computer science and aspires to become a game dev and implement her and her sister's drawing skills to design the characters and other thingamajigs. They go to the library or the boba shop to whenever they can to catch up and talk about their dream game. Salem and Kyra struck up a conversation with a musician performing at the romance festival, (where Kyra also got played by Akira Kibo but that's a whole 'nother thing…) Benson, and he quickly became apart of their friend group. As they hung out more, he soon got tangled in her with her love and passion for this game, and wants to help that game come to fruition and be a music composer for her game.

Some would call her a monster, and some may call her a savior for her abilities as she looked in the mirror of the rundown off-the-books apartment of New York City.

The file had been given to her a couple days ago and there wasn't much. Somebody wanted a man dead. Not just any man, someone who pissed enough people to collect on a bounty. A hefty one. However, it didn't help when there was only a mention of a nickname. No doubt, not true to its name. The Devil.

Kyra had contacts in the black market but most were reluctant to even utter the name. Leaving the bathroom, she exited out of the apartment, and out of the building. Every second lost, was one more reason on not finding him sooner.

As she walked through the streets of good old New York city, she kept to herself, keeping her hands in her pockets, careful to not make contact with anyone.

The wave of coffee and baked goods wafted into the air and she stopped in her tracks, seeing the around the corner cafe. She hadn't had a decent meal for who knows how long. But the world revolved around money, she didn't have any, the lab made sure the specimens didn't get anything.

The temptation to run away wouldn't be there.

Easy Does It: Bringing Old-School Wisdom to City Ballet

Kyra Nichols, a former principal, returns to the company for the first time since her 2007 retirement to coach ballets by Balanchine and Robbins.

Indiana Woodward knew her time with Kyra Nichols was dwindling: It was the last hour they would spend together before Nichols, an esteemed former New York City Ballet principal, had to head back to her day job as a professor at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.

For City Ballet’s winter season, Nichols had returned—for the first time since her 2007 retirement—to coach dancers in George Balanchine’s “Donizetti Variations” and “Walpurgisnacht,” as well as Jerome Robbins’s “Rondo,” an understated, little-seen ballet created for Nichols and Stephanie Saland in 1980.

A rehearsal for that ballet was about to begin, and Woodward and Nichols were talking—with the repertory director Christine Redpath—about energy: how to save it, how to store it, how to look better by doing less.

Woodward, with imploring eyes, turned to Nichols with a request: “Whenever you think of it, just send us a message”—she made a calming motion by patting down the air with her hands—“saying, ‘Take it easy.’”

Easy, of course, isn’t always so easy. But the idea behind it is important: How can a dancer replace force with something more free? How can she explore the possibilities of effortless dancing, the kind that Nichols was known for? She knew how to be natural. Throughout her 33-year career with City Ballet, Nichols made it seem as if steps were flowing—sometimes gently, sometimes with a wild, gushing power—through her limbs, her torso, her elegant upper body, as epitomized in the dynamic épaulement of her shoulders and head.

Nichols’s dancing was expansive and free, yet in the service of the choreography—or, really, the musicality within the choreography. It’s not so different from the way she demonstrates movement in the studio: She moves.

The invitation to coach was a happy surprise. “I thought, the time will come if they want me to come,” she said. “I didn’t push it. Hopefully, I’ll come back. It’s been a really great experience.” It started when Redpath began putting together “Rondo,” and asked Nichols for help. Enlisting former company members from the Balanchine era to coach dancers from the current generation is something that City Ballet, under its artistic director, Jonathan Stafford, and associate artistic director, Wendy Whelan, has continued to implement. Mikhail Baryshnikov, Edward Villella, Patricia McBride and Suzanne Farrell have all come back to coach; this season, Adam Luders returned along with Nichols.

Beginning Tuesday, “Rondo” will take the stage again, featuring the pairing of Mira Nadon and Isabella LaFreniere—and, later, Woodward and Olivia MacKinnon. (LaFreniere and MacKinnon perform Nichols’s role.) “He would have Stephanie do something that was simple,” Nichols said of Robbins. “And then he had me do a version that was just a little bit harder.”

“Rondo” didn’t last beyond 1980 at City Ballet. Yet the pas de deux, set to Mozart’s Rondo in A minor for solo piano, has a gleaming simplicity and an unsentimental feeling of sisterhood. At the time of its premiere, Robbins wrote to Leonard Bernstein, inviting him to see the ballet: “I like it,” Robbins said, “although like the music, it is a fairly quiet work.”

Quiet or not, Nichols feels that “anything of Jerry’s should just always be kept—and Balanchine,” she said. “Even if it wasn’t a big success, it still has so much in it. It’s important to the dancers, this new generation.”

Robbins began creating “Rondo” with little fanfare, beginning, as he often did, by playing around in the studio. “He got us in there and was just toying with different ideas and then, all of a sudden,” Nichols said, “they wanted it on opening night that season.”

Robbins labored over his ballets. When he learned that “Rondo” would be performed so soon, he secured the only stage rehearsal possible: one hour on the day before the premiere while the stagehands were on their dinner break.

“They were loading in,” Nichols said. “There was no floor laid. The wings were up, and they were putting all the lights in. So when they went to dinner, we ran ‘Rondo.’ We didn’t wear pointe shoes, but he could see, visually, what we were dancing.”

In the ballet, the two women echo each other closely, performing in sync or in canon as one trails behind the other in light runs and jumps, tightly knitted chaîné turns—in which alternating feet spin across the floor like a chain—and tiny steps that send them floating across the stage. They partner each other, too: “Rondo” is a crystalline display of two women dancing together, working together, as Nichols put it, to make it work.

“It was more your body doing it, especially with Jerry,” she said. “Look at the other girl, but don’t make love to her.”

In a rehearsal with Nadon and LaFreniere, Nichols urged the dancers not only to be easy, but also to be natural—a hallmark of Robbins’s choreography. “You have a beautiful pointed toe,” she said. “Just step on it.”

“Rondo” looks serene, but is it? “This is a beast, this is so hard; how did she make this look so easy?” LaFreniere said, referring to Nichols, in a video interview with Nadon. “One of the first things she said when she came into the studio was like, ‘Just less, everything less.’ After one of our run-throughs of ‘Rondo,’ I was super, super sweaty. And she looked at us and she said, ‘Yeah, we’re going to have to learn how to breathe.’”

Nadon added: “I think as dancers, our tendency is to want to work really hard because we want to push our physicality. And sometimes the hardest thing is to do a little less and to be a little calmer and to let the movement speak for itself.”

That’s part of what Nichols grasped while working with Robbins: not being balletic about movement quality. Walking, standing—everyday movements performed by dancers without affectation to create something new, a kind of pedestrian classicism. “I didn’t have it right off the bat either,” Nichols said. “How many times did I walk across the stage looking at the lights in ‘Dances at a Gathering’ and him going, ‘No, let’s do it again.’ Not walking on the music, being casual, not pointing the toe—it’s so different than taking ballet class.”

Nichols says she loves coaching, loves to share what she learned; during her time at City Ballet, she was especially flattered to be asked to teach a variations class at the company-affiliated School of American Ballet. She focused on “Spring” in Robbins’s “The Four Seasons.” She taught it the way Robbins originally choreographed it—with turns to the left and right. Now, turns are generally performed to the right; most dancers are right turners. For Nichols, that distorts the structure of the variation, how its choreography fills the stage. She recalled the first time she was in the studio with Robbins; up to that point, in “Goldberg Variations” and “Fanfare,” two of his ballets, she found herself positioned in the back row. She assumed she wasn’t going to become a Robbins dancer and, as she told herself, that was OK: She was working with Balanchine. But then, to her surprise, she was called to a rehearsal with Robbins.

“He was still dancing around a lot at that point,” she said. “I got there, and he started moving. He moved to the left. He did hops on my weak foot.”

She was honored to be in the room. She wanted to please him, so she followed along. “And what was I supposed to say? ‘Um, Mr. Robbins, that’s my weak side. I can’t turn to that side.’ I was 19 at that point. I was like, I’m in the room with Jerry Robbins. I just did it.”
