Experts converge at Zee Melt 2019 to discuss Disruptive Marketing
On the second day of India’s Disruptive Marketing conference, Zee MELT, there was an extensive line-up of bona fide media experts. Marketing stalwarts and industry leaders converged at NSCI, Mumbai, to discuss their formula for effective marketing and recount their success stories which changed the way we perceive brands. The day began with an address by Fernando Machado, Global Chief Marketing Officer of Burger King, who shared the inside story of the Whopper campaign that changed the brand’s entire outlook on marketing. Machado revealed the marketing approach he champions which reignited the creative spark the brand had previously lost. “I worked at Unilever before Burger King and that is a company that’s invested a lot in ���purpose’. After 18 years, I approached Burger King, determined to reignite the brand with advertising as bold and celebrated as its legacy,” he said. “It’s about identifying what's going to trend or what’s going to be relevant to people, and find creative ways to hack into that, in a way that is not just self-serving, but in a way that adds value to people, adds value to the society, and adds value to the brand,” added Machado. Other speakers included Gerardo Mazzeo, Global Innovation Director and CSV Manager, Nestle; Mark Pollard, Strategy CEO, Mightly Jungle; Dave Trott, Author and Creative Director; Samuel Scott, Columnist, The Drum; JP Hanson, CEO, Rouser; Vikki Ross, Copy Chief; Faris Yakob, Co-Founder, Genius Steals; Laura Jordan Bambach, CCO, Mr. President; Shubho Sengupta, Co-Founder, Healthcase & Activewear; Suresh Balakrishnan, Chief Revenue Officer, The Hindu; Prathyusha Agarwal, CMO, ZEEL, and Rashi Goel, VP – Consumer Communications, Nestle, among others. A series of panel discussions was organized by The Collective, a multi-agency initiative that focuses on gender issues. The discussions featured prominent professionals like Babita Baruah, Managing Partner, Head of WPP, GTB India; Deepa Geethakrishnan, Consultant, Lowe Lintas; Tista Sen, Regional Creative Director, Wunderman Thompson – South Asia; Anusheela Saha, Group Creative Director, FCB India; Gayatri Sriram, Digital Creative Head, FCBUlka, and many others. Commenting on the conference, Rajesh Kejriwal, Founder & CEO, Kyoorius, said, “Zee Melt brings together marketing experts, strategists & the media for an open unfettered discussion on the future of advertising and brand building. The objective is to host an insightful and rewarding event that recognizes unconventional ideas that have disrupted the industry, prompting us to relook at how we perceive marketing. Tower London - I-AM brand positioning services, Workspace design, Office design & Brand Strategy Consulting in India
TOWER London is a multi-brand family footwear business stretching back four generations, trading both on and offline. The team at TOWER London contacted I-AM to help modernise their brand and reposition it across the full 360-degree experience.
The first step in the process of creating a unique brand experience was to identify where the brand is currently and understand from the TOWER London team where they aspire the brand to be commercially as well as creatively.
Once the outlook and brand strategy were in place, a full 2D review of the brand placation was carried out and a new brand mark created and applied. The modern brand positioning was then rolled out in a new flagship store design for TOWER’s new London store TOWER119 on Wood Green High Road in advance of their new flagship store in Shoreditch opening in 2015.
The design of the store brings to life London’s urban life and youth culture with the use of a strong, unique palette of blacks, greys and yellows and textures of concrete and re-enforced glass. The space is also home to a custom-made LED-animated screen, an interactive media wall, and a community wall with information on local events and a ‘last chance to buy’ section. The result is a truly differentiated footwear offer to rival the high street giants.
The new Wood Green store opened at the start of April 2014 and on 1st May 2014 TOWER London won the ‘Independent Footwear Retailer of the Year’ award at the 2014 Drapers Footwear & Accessories Awards in recognition of all their innovations and improvements made across the business from over the last 12 months.

SoCheers is an independent digital-first full-service advertising agency based out of Mumbai, servicing
both domestic and international clients. Having started with just a team of 2 in 2013, today the agency

Siddharth Devnani is the Co-Founder and Director at SoCheers. Having a Production Engineering degree
along with an MBA in Operations, he started his career interning with Tata Motors and Future Group
(Pantaloon Retail), which gave him hands-on experience on the value chain management and helped him
understand the importance of seamless back-end operations. In 2012, he joined Naaptol.com where he
managed the operations of an entire category and innately curious, also took the extra effort to learn the
nitty-gritties of e-commerce. It is at this point in his career that he started to consider the possibility of
becoming an entrepreneur seriously, and finally took the plunge in 2013 when he partnered to establish
his own Social Media Marketing agency, which has since then evolved to a digital-first, full-service
Advertising & Marketing agency.
In his own words, co-founding SoCheers was one of the boldest steps he took, and over the years, he
has helped build the company to what it is today. From initially 2 interns to a highly skilled team of over
140 people now, from managing smaller accounts to running campaigns for global brands, Siddharth has
been there for it all, setting up the team, evolving the processes, and scaling up the agency’s offerings.
He also heads the finance team and is responsible for the revenue generation of the agency, ensuring the
continued profitability for the organisation. Gradually, his role has grown to include establishing and
spearheading the media planning & buying division. More recently, he was at the centre of setting up the
Digital Intelligence & Analytics (DIA) division, introducing social listening and other data-driven services
to the list of the company's offerings.It would be fair to say that Siddharth lives and breathes digital. Not only is he heading the technology
branch of SoCheers, but he is often the person who can be seen foreseeing some interesting digital
trends, which one might find in reports months later. This marks his in-depth knowledge and analytical
mindset, not only for SoCheers but also for the entire digital ecosystem. As the last couple of years made
digital mark its importance and acceptance amongst the brands, Siddharth strongly anticipated the

lessons learned in the most unusual year and what to expect in 2021.
Born and brought up in Mumbai, Siddharth loves getting away from the city whenever work allows. He

Experts converge at Zee Melt 2019 to discuss Disruptive Marketing
On the second day of India’s Disruptive Marketing conference, Zee MELT, there was an extensive line-up of bona fide media experts. Marketing stalwarts and industry leaders converged at NSCI, Mumbai, to discuss their formula for effective marketing and recount their success stories which changed the way we perceive brands. The day began with an address by Fernando Machado, Global Chief Marketing Officer of Burger King, who shared the inside story of the Whopper campaign that changed the brand’s entire outlook on marketing. Machado revealed the marketing approach he champions which reignited the creative spark the brand had previously lost. “I worked at Unilever before Burger King and that is a company that’s invested a lot in ‘purpose’. After 18 years, I approached Burger King, determined to reignite the brand with advertising as bold and celebrated as its legacy,” he said. “It’s about identifying what's going to trend or what’s going to be relevant to people, and find creative ways to hack into that, in a way that is not just self-serving, but in a way that adds value to people, adds value to the society, and adds value to the brand,” added Machado. A series of panel discussions was organized by The Collective, a multi-agency initiative that focuses on gender issues.
