He lost his sunshine when he came back. After all, how could he find that warmth within himself after everything he'd been through? After seeing the depths of Hell with his own two eyes? After being plucked from that, stitched back together, scarred over, the way he had?

Jasper always called it his sunshine - golden light, warmth, comfort, endlessly radiating. And he knew it comforted them, he knew it made those bad days a little better, but somewhere in the cold and the dark he'd lost it. Possibly for good.

It wasn't so much an overcast day as it was total nuclear fallout. The smog was impenetrable.

Or so he thought.

The first flicker returned quickly enough.

He was in bed. It had only been weeks - two or three, though time was difficult for him then - since he'd been thrown back into his life like a fastball to a baseball glove. He hadn't quite found speech yet. Coordination came and went. He could've sworn he could still smell the sulfurous fires of Hell lingering on his skin.

And Jasper, somehow, still laid beside him. They'd been asleep for hours now, as if nothing had ever changed. Kyle couldn't even bring himself to close his eyes. He couldn't surrender to the nightmares, not now.

He wondered how they could lay beside him, to stay so close when he could still smell the acrid scent of rubbing alcohol and formaldehyde all around him, the smoky perfume of purgatory clouding his lungs with every breath. Maybe it was a memory. Maybe it was all in his head. But he couldn't seem to wash the smell away.

He wasn't warm like he used to be. He still felt half-dead, perpetually cold no matter what he tried. That was the first time he realized he'd lost his sunshine. That was the first time he realized how much it once had warmed him.

Jasper didn't seem to notice. They lay just beside him, pressed to his side as they always had before, as if they didn't notice the way his chest was too slim and his hands were too broad and the heart that beat in his chest wasn't his own. As if they didn't notice the hellfire-stink on his skin, the necrosis-chill instead of his usual warmth.

All at once, he found himself flooded with guilt. And so Kyle tried to slip away, at least as much as he could before his uncoordinated limbs sent him tumbling off the bed.

"Mm. No." Jasper mumbled, breaking the silence of the room and sleepily pulling themself back against his body, "Stay. You're warm."

He froze in place, glancing down at them as they settled back in against his chest. They were already asleep, if they'd ever really woken up to begin with. His heart was pounding in his chest like it was the first time they'd ever pressed this close.

Tentatively, carefully, he let his arm fall around their back. Jasper turned their face against his chest with a deep, contented sigh.

And the sun peeked out from behind the clouds.

The next shift came only a week or so later. He'd found a few more words in that time - after all, his mind was still painfully intact despite all he'd gone through, and there wasn't much else to do on those long days but try to find himself again.

Jasper had brought him an AAC board. As soon as Kyle got past his own pride about using it, he'd admit that it helped. At the very least, it saved him from stumbling and stammering for words that weren't ever going to spring free. And they'd promised him, time and time again, that he didn't need to force himself to speak. Communication with the board was still communication. It was all the same at the end of the day.

But in those long days, when Jasper was off at their classes and the witches were... well... doing whatever they did during the day, when Kyle was left alone? He practiced. He didn't need to get back to where he was. But he wanted to. He was tired of feeling like Frankenstein's monster, shambling along and groaning.

So he practiced. For hours, he practiced. There were a few words he needed to get back under his tongue.

The door closed with a bang, and Jasper's footsteps danced up the staircase in a flurry of motion. He knew it was them from the very first step. Nobody moved quite like they did. He found himself smiling before they even reached the door.

"Hey, babe," they said, looking tired but smiling at him as they entered the room, "Doing okay today?"

He nodded, working to loosen his tongue from the roof of his mouth. It still infuriated him, how hard it was to find words these days. It used to be so effortless. He'd taken it for granted.

He stretched to grab his AAC board from where it lay on the bed behind it, and Jasper made their way to his side to watch as he pointed to a few of the symbols.

How... work?

"Fine. Tiring. It's all that summer dehydration, y'know? Can't count the amount of IV's I had to put in today." Jasper muttered, sliding onto the edge of the bed and kicking their shoes to the corner of the room, "And I have a bout tonight."

"Mm. Tuesday." he mumbled in agreement. Jasper nodded.

"Yeah. Oh- hey, d'you want to come? Get out of the house for a while?" they asked, the idea striking them like a bolt of lightning, "We're up against one of the smaller leagues, so it shouldn't be too crowded there."

He thought on that one for a minute, but eventually shook his head with a low sigh. Jasper frowned, tucking their legs under them as they slid a little further onto the bed. They reached out, resting their hand lightly on his forearm.

"The others know what's going on. At least... they know enough. I'll find a chair for you, right up front." they promised, looking up at him with empathetic eyes, "If you want to go, we can make it work. I'll put everything together."

Again, he considered it. But again he shook his head. He didn't know if he was ready to be out in public again. Especially after what happened the last time. He didn't trust this new anger festering inside him.

"Alright," Jasper said, though their voice was sad. After a moment, they seemed to brighten a little and leaned into his side, "Anyway, I definitely need a nap or I'm gonna fall asleep on my skates. Wanna lay down for a bit?"

That, he could agree with. He slid back on the bed, giving Jasper room to take their usual place against his side.

"Ugh, hang on, I'm not sleeping in a binder," they muttered, taking a moment to wriggle out of the garment before curling up beside him. Kyle kept himself still until they made themself comfortable, not wanting to jostle them with his uncooperative limbs.

"Jazz?" he mumbled, praying his tongue would cooperate with him. Just once. Just for a few more words.

"Hm?"

"I love you."

He wanted to say more than that. He had paragraphs, pages, whole encyclopedias of words for them. He had monologues of affection that he couldn't bring himself to say, essays and theses and declarations of gratitude for how they'd stayed with him, how they'd helped him, everything they'd done for him. But he knew his tongue would freeze up again if he tried. He was forced to make do with this.

"I... I love you too." Jasper's voice was choked, breath hitching as if they were holding back tears. He hadn't been able to say those words since he returned, though he knew they could feel every ripple of affection that coursed through him at just the sight of them.

And as they leaned over and caught his lips in a kiss, he caught another sight of the sun.

Time passed. He found more words, both on his own and with the magical aid of the witches. Gradually he settled back into himself, and those lingering clouds began to drift away. If it weren't for the scars, or the way his words still fled when he got flustered, it was as if he'd never he'd never been through the horrors of his past.

But he still hadn't quite found his sunshine. The clouds came and went, but there still remained those lingering shadows hanging over him. And he'd stay there, some part of him still trapped in his mind, and wonder about how to regain those final missing pieces. Life was good, wasn't it? What else was there left to do?

He sat on the edge of his bed, indiscriminately smearing ointment on his scars. Most days, he did it twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. Any less, and they got maddeningly itchy - itches he couldn't scratch, of course, knowing the scars were about the only thing holding him together. When he began with the ritual, he'd been careful about it: covering every patch of scar tissue, rubbing it in until the cream vanished, diligently inspecting the skin to make sure it wasn't broken or cracked or infected.

Now he hardly cared. What had begun as a dedicated fifteen minutes was now a careless four-and-a-half, slapping on the ointment almost roughly and calling it good enough because he couldn't stand to focus on the scars any longer than that. He'd been careful in the beginning because he'd thought they would fade, that being diligent now meant one day he could relieve himself of this little habit.

But they hadn't faded. Not enough. He could still count every rough stitch in his skin, and he figured he always would. They'd stay this way, raised and pink and all too obvious, until he died- again.

He was so lost in thought that he didn't notice Jasper until her hands were wrapped around his own, taking the little tub of lotion from him.

"It's fine. I've got it." he muttered automatically, already reaching to reclaim the tin. He wanted this over with. Two more minutes, and he could move on to something less painful.

"You're miserable."

"Not fair, Jazz." Kyle sighed, sure she'd simply peered into the tangle of emotion swirling inside him. Jasper shrugged.

"I don't need this," she said, tapping her chest to indicate that strange empathic sense of hers, "I can see it on your face. Y'know, like any normal person."

That startled a laugh out of him, a small one, and Jasper smiled as she sat down behind him.

The first touch almost startled him, cold lotion against the back of his neck. That, of all the scars, was his least favorite. It was so... inhuman. Reattached limbs were one thing - rare, yes, but Jasper had assured him more than once that she'd seen it happen. And she'd said, just as frequently, that there were surgeries that could leave scars like the one on his neck - tracheal, laryngeal, she'd even shown him pictures. But those scars didn't go all the way around. And nobody survived decapitation.

Jasper's fingers were gentle, moving in smooth and comforting circles as she rubbed the lotion into his skin. She ran her thumbs along the base of his shoulders, pressing in firmly like she was giving him a massage. Just for a moment, basking in the touch, it was easy to forget about the scars. Kyle shut his eyes and leaned into the touch.

When she'd finished with the area around his neck, she wordlessly shifted her grip to his arm and began working at the scars around his shoulder instead. Her fingers migrated a bit, gentle around the scars but pressing more firmly against the muscles of his back. He hadn't realized how many knots had accumulated there.

Kyle found himself continuing to soften into the touch, until he was practically propped against Jasper's body where she sat behind him. He could feel her shoulders hitch as she laughed, pleasantly amused at his reaction. Another moment, and she'd turned her head to kiss his neck, just under his jaw.

"Y'know..." Jasper murmured, trailing her fingers over that scar on his shoulder, "I think it's kinda sexy. Kinda rugged."

"Really?" he asked, a bit too much of his disbelief bleeding into his voice. Even if it hadn't, he was sure she could feel it radiating from him all the same.

"Mm-hm." she agreed with a hum, "Would've driven me nuts if I was still in my emo phase."

"Did you ever really leave?" he teased, pointedly flicking his eyes down her brightly-dyed buzz cut, her multitude of tattoos, the new nose ring she'd gotten the week prior.

"Shut up." Jasper huffed, though she was stifling laughter, "Now I'm punk, there's a difference."

"Yeah?"

"Yeah. Get it right." she told him, prodding him jokingly in the shoulder, "Seriously, I expected better from you."

"Alright, alright, I'll go revisit the notes." he drawled, dragging the words out with an exaggerated sigh. Jasper giggled, dropping her forehead against his back and weaving her arms around his waist.

It was that, the sound of her laughter, the feel of her arms around him, poking fun at each other like they always had, that finally scared off those last lingering clouds. Sunlight bloomed, full and unimpeded, for the first time in nearly a year.

Jasper felt it as much as he did. As that warmth spread, the chill finally chased from his skin, she let out a slow breath and melted against his body. He could feel her breaths, deep and content, brushing over the skin of his back.

"Did you do that?" he found himself asking. It wouldn't be the first time she'd woven those strings of emotion within him. Some nights he still needed her to bring him calm before bed, or he'd never escape the nightmares. And it was Jasper who'd untangled that knot of anger that had settled in when he first came back. He assumed this was another one of those, her trying to mend what had been broken and eroded within him.

But she shook her head, the edges of her buzz cut faintly prickling at his skin.

"All you, babe." she mumbled, sounding more relaxed than he'd heard her in months. She gave him a little squeeze, arms tightening around his waist.

"I missed that sunshine."

"Would you stop that? I'm telling you, it's good!" Kyle defended, though his tone was light.

"You just said Fireflies by Owl City is amazing... really?" Jasper said, crossing their arms against their chest.

"Okay, sure, it's a little overplayed... but I think it's fun! But I know it doesn't fit your usual music taste." He shrugged.

Jasper placed their hand on Kyle's, smiling at him. "I'm glad you like it, and it's nice to listen to just on the radio I guess..."

They could feel the usual sweet happiness from Kyle. It rose in their chest to their heart; reminding Jasper of sunlight.

"Just on the radio? I think more than that." He teased.

"It's definitely on brand for you," they added.

"What do you mean by that?" Kyle genuinely asked, slightly tilting his head.

"Well... you're like a ray of sunshine. And that's the vibes that song gives, at least that's what I think." They complimented.

The feelings they sensed grew more, like a nice summer day. One that was the perfect balance of sun and a cool summer breeze.

"I'm sure being blond helps," he joked, pointing to his hair.

Jasper chuckled. "Actually, do you have a favorite Owl City song?"

"Hmm... are you looking for recs?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. "Because Owl City goes perfectly with Muse and everything else in your music." Kyle joked.

They laughed. "Maybe I just want to know my boyfriend's favorite Owl City song." They brushed off the question.

"Oh! You're up to something, I know it! Does it have to do with a surprise? A gift perhaps...?" His face lit up.

"If it's a surprise, why would I tell you?" They fought to keep a smile off their face, which they knew wasn't selling it. But Jasper couldn't help it, feeling the joy radiating off Kyle was hard to ignore.

"I knew it! You are planning something! I guess I have to wait until a birthday or Christmas..." Kyle grinned.

"My lips are sealed." They held their hands up in mock defense.

"Oh, alright..." He pretended to sigh dramatically, getting another chuckle out of them. "Wouldn't want to ruin the secret. Would you at least accept a kiss? Mx...? Mx 'my lips are sealed'?" He finished the sentence after getting a quick nod from Jasper over the title.

Jasper blushed, feeling the sweet rushing emotions inside. "Yes, I'll make an exception for that," they replied.

Jasper welcomed the kiss, feeling his warmth against themself and wishing it would last forever. Finally, the two parted and shared a hug.

"I'm still excited though, about whatever you're planning." He mentioned.

meet the team + Spencer Reid

     Spencer had put off introductions for a while. It would be accurate to assume that he was anxious- for fear of his coworkers potentially scaring you away and for fear that you would finally realize better bachelors/bachelorettes were out there. Most of all, he was worried that confirming your relationship to the BAU would drive the two of you apart just like it had done for Hotch, Rossi, and Gideon.

     But you were excited to meet the team, and they were equally (if not more) excited to meet you. Derek was skeptical but overally looking forward to meeting the person Spencer had been gushing about for the past seven months.

     Spencer hadn’t shown any pictures of you to the team, instead keeping the element of surprise on your side. He had assured them that whatever expectations they had were probably wrong.

     The two of you were set to have dinner at the Mexican joint uptown around 6. Spencer had told the team that you would be coming right after work, so you wouldn’t have time to change into fancier attire.

     When the team all filed into their cars and slid into the booths of the restaurant, Spencer’s eyes consistently flitted to the door. He was beyond ready to see you and get the long-awaited introductions over with. And to eat.

     “Does she wear Mary Janes?” Penelope asked. “Is she a… librarian? She probably had glasses like you.”

     Derek laughs. “Yeah, she’s definitely a female version of Spencer.”

     Spencer looks over at Derek with a glare that the latter only shrugs off.

     “Enough,” JJ cuts in. “You guys aren’t three.”

     “What color do you think her glasses are?” Emily asks Penelope. “Purple, probably, to match Spencer’s vest.”

     Penelope gasps loudly. “Oh! You’re right!”

     Imagine the BAU’s surprise when Spencer’s face relaxes and he stands up when a woman with a stained light grey shirt walks in. The only other thing the team can see is your hair: pulled into two tight braidsSpencer practically floats over to greet you, smiling impossibly wide as you look over to him.

     Rossi chuckles at the open-mouthed Emily, Penelope, and Derek. JJ and Hotch both shake their heads. When you both approach, the team can see that your tan pants are stained with grease and paint. Your boots are covered with grime, but your face is bright as you greet them all with a smile.

     “Hi! I’m y/n,” you say as Spencer lets you slide into the seat beside him. “Sorry for the mess. I’ve been crazy busy lately and didn’t have time to run home.”

     Penelope physically shooes away your apology. “Nonesense! I love your hair! Do you do it yourself?”

     Spencer exhales when you slyly link your fingers with his. The worst part is over, and you’re being accepted by the team. Perfect.

     “Thank you!” You say excitedly. “I usually do it myself, but Spencer sometimes does it if I’m super busy. He’s really good at braiding, honestly.”

     ‘Aww’s are heard from everyone and Spencer’s face turns red. “Thanks, y/n.”

     “You’re welcome, darlin’,” you answered with a smile.

Headcanon: Max has used his technical expertise to try and create a smartphone that Kyle can use, but nothing short of encasing the entire thing in rubber has worked

Headcanon accepted! Really, the only way to get Kyle to be able to use tech in any meaningful way is to make him work a sedentary office job and take up knitting or something as a hobby- the less energy he uses, the less he'll need. Kyle would rather deal with the side effects of his powers than live like that, though. He's quite an active guy.

And that’s basically it for right now. Also Peter, Tate, and Luke are the only Evan Peters characters I’ll be writing for just for right now because I haven’t finished the other seasons of American Horror Story yet, but maybe in the future I’d probably be interested in writing for characters like Kit Walker or Kyle Spencer. There’s other characters that I wouldn’t mind trying to write for that I haven’t mentioned, but just ask and I’ll give you an answer.

I can write:

Any gendered readers: female readers, gender neutral readers, and male reader

Nsfw: don’t be afraid to request suggestive stuff. I don’t mind writing kinky stuff, but not too kinky like the piss kink or daddy kink bc it personally makes me uncomfortable (however, I’ll allow mommy kinks).

Kinks: Needed a section to put what kinks I allow. I will write for breeding kinks, breath play, bondage, pain kink, knife play, blood kink, dom/sub, degradation, BDSM; whatever, just ask.

Sfw: I’ll write fluff, hurt comfort, angst, any tropes, just whatever. I’m fine with platonic fics.

Semi Dark fics: I like Scream and American Horror Story, so you know there’s going to be some dark fics. I don’t mind prompts where the characters are possessive or obsessive (but not abusive). I also don’t mind writing for Yandere characters.

Poc reader inserts: I’m black, so I’d love writing stuff for black readers as well.

I won’t write:

Celebrities/Real People: As much as I find their character’s attractive, I don’t feel comfortable writing for the actor/actress themself. I don’t know them personally, so I don’t feel any interest in writing anything for them.

Guy x male reader smut: it’s not bc of homophobia, it’s simply just because I don’t feel comfortable writing gay smut. As a woman, I just don’t want to make people think I’m sexualizing gay men. The most I’ll do is write suggestive stuff, but I won’t write full on smut.

OC inserts: I strictly write for reader inserts. I won’t be writing anything specifically for one reader.

Shipping: I don’t write for character x character. Nothing against them, I just only have an interest for reader inserts.

Smut for teenage characters: I’m 18, so I will not be writing smut for characters under 18, especially if they are portrayed by literal teenagers. However, for characters like on Wednesday where the characters are portrayed by adults in their 20s and even 30s, if you want smut for them it should be fine as long as they’re aged up to be 18.

These: non-con, step-cest/incest, r4pe themes, drugging, somnophilia, age regression, ddlg, piss kink (squirting’s fine), huge age gaps, race play, pedophilia, etc. Once again, if you’re not sure what kinks I’ll write for, feel free to ask

Traumatic stuff: I will not write things like abuse victim, rape victim, or self harm victim prompts. I will write angst, but I won’t write anything too depressing. I came here for a good time, let me be happy and delusional in peace 😪

Songfics: So random, but I hate when fics have lyrics within them. They confuse me too much and I also find them kind of cringey. I absolutely despise songfics, I’m so sorry babes 😭

Superpower Asks for Siv, Jessi, and Kyle please!

2. How often is your character underestimated?

Siv: Near constantly. Siv's a fairly physically small person, and because they tend to wear baggy clothes that hide their musculature, people often assume they won't be able to fight back when attacked.

Jessi: Constantly. Jessi's powers are completely unknown, and anyone who figures them out will just get hypnotized into forgetting about them, so most people don't even know that she's basically a mob boss.

Kyle: Not that often. Even without his powers, he's still over 6' and built like a quarterback (which he was). He tends to intimidate people, albeit unintentionally.

5. Under what circumstances would your character willingly give up their powers?

Siv: As long as Eobard was dead, pretty much any. Siv isn't exactly fond of their abilities, since they tend to cause more harm than good for herself and others.

Jessi: If it benefitted her in the long run, sure. More money, more power, more fame, etc. Otherwise, it's not going to happen.

Kyle: While his powers are really more of an inconvenience than anything else, he loves what he's able to do with them, so he probably would only give them up for the greater good. Like if a supervillain said he had to give them up or the city would be destroyed.

16. Who is your character most likely to turn to for guidance?

Siv: Probably Jay or Ember. Before finding out he was a murderous psycho, she would have turned to Eobard, but that didn't exactly work out.

Jessi: Doesn't really believe she needs guidance. I mean, she has her PR manager and her agent, but that's about it. Otherwise, she prefers to just do what she wants and let her legal team take care of the rest.

Kyle: His family. He's still pretty close to his parents, even though they still haven't really gotten their heads around him being gay, they're at least trying.

22. How would your character’s civilian self speak about their supersona?

Siv: Would make the Dark Streak sound like way less of a loser than she actually is, and would defend the name to the end, despite picking it on a whim while panicking because people were asking for their name and she hadn't picked one yet.

Jessi: Would say that Sonata was a horrible person who should be in jail and publicly condemn her actions, despite quite literally being her.

Kyle: Would talk about Blackout like he was a super chill guy, like a friend that he knows. He'd probably make Blackout sound way cooler than Kyle himself actually is.

24. How would your character feel about someone trying to impersonate them?

Siv: Probably would kill them outright. Siv already walks a fragile line between good and evil, and anyone trying to push the scale either way is just going to ruin their image and get in the way.

Jessi: Would roll her eyes. Jessi already has to deal with cover bands, tribute bands, whatever, especially unlicenced ones that her legal team has to go after, so it wouldn't be that big of a deal to her.

Kyle: He'd be really concerned. After all, he's not really one of the big league superheroes, and he's not really much of a superhero in the traditional sense either, just a guy trying to do the right thing with his powers.

37. What are your character’s views about others in their field?

Siv: Hates them all. They all want to kill her or throw her in a cell, regardless of moral alignment, since they've backstabbed basically all of them.

Jessi: Thinks she's above them. They're all a bunch of stick-up-their-butts wussies that are too afraid to play dirty to be as much of a girlboss as she is.

Kyle: Tolerates them, but sometimes they cause more harm than good by creating a lot of collateral damage that smaller heroes like himself have to clean up.

48. What kind of merchandise would best suit your character if they had to get branded?

Siv: Energy drinks. Both with the whole speedster thing and the fact that Siv is the most ADHD person on the planet, something designed to make people skittery would be perfect for Siv.

Jessi: Tee shirts. She's got an extremely iconic image, and she's a highly successful international pop star, so her face would be perfect for tees for her fans to wear.

Kyle: Self-defense stuff, like tasers and pepperspray and stuff. In his line of work, he knows a lot about that kind of stuff, so he'd be great to endorse them.

Hi! 🕊️ I’m a 23 year old female looking for some fandomless plots! since Halloween is coming up I had an idea for a zombie x human plot! I’d be okay with either of us playing the zombie so if you prefer to play it or the human both is okay with me!

I want a plot where there’s an experiment gone wrong, an abandoned asylum that’s been locked up for years and the human character explores it only to find a zombie as well. We’re talking Frankenstein, stitched together all of it. They would take the zombie back to their place and try to understand what the hell is going on. Should they be worried that the zombie will eat their brain in their sleep? Maybe. But the zombie is hungry for something other than brains if you catch my drift.

If I would be playing the zombie I’d be using a male oc that is strongly based off of Kyle Spencer from season 3 of American Horror Story. You do not have to know anything about the show prior to starting the rp with him because I will send over any info about the character that I think is important!

I’m open for mxm and mxf and would love to include smut and darker themes. But not too dark :) I’m super easy to talk to so don’t be afraid to reach out!
